I got the English breakfast no black pudding no eggs and it was delicious and filling. My first taste of an English breakfast and I was pleased! The smoothie was delicious as well. It was quite busy and there was a 30 minute wait to be seated. We walked away and came back. It was cute they had their name on the plates. I’d come back here again!

Delicious food, great atmosphere and really really lovely staff. This place deserves the success it has. Catered for milk allergies comfortably. Would recommend the Shashuka & coffee - so so good. Cheers for a great experience.

Google
Lovely brunch spot, I went there on my own with a book, on a Monday and it was nice and peaceful. The staff was attentive and the interior was super cute and kitsch. I got the American pancakes and I although it was delicious, they didn't seem super fresh? The pancakes were a bit underdone and cold, but the meat and hash brown were hot. I do wish that they cooked the pancakes fresh to order (maybe they normally do?) But this time I was a bit disappointed. I would go back to try something else, as it tasted good. Another thing is that it is quite chilly in the restaurant and they don't do refills on drip coffee :( All minor details and overall an enjoyable experience.

Google
Quite a cool venue, staff were super friendly and attentive without being over bearing. I thought it was a touch on the expensive side for some items, with seemingly all breakfast items costing the same amount (around £12) so there wasn't a single cheaper option at all. The food was quite nice but not amazing. The pineapple juice came with lots of ice in it and I wasn't asked if I wanted it. I'd never have had it given a choice, I feel this could have been easily done. The bill came with a service charge automatically added on and it was never mentioned anywhere so we had already paid before I noticed it. The staff here were good but in principle I disagree with service charge being put on a bill automatically, it goes against the entire principle of why people might want to tip by choice.

This place under promises on the outside and over delivers on the inside. It looks like your average high street cafe, then you step in to a quirky cool place to eat. Service was perfect & food was 5 star, definitely worth the money. I would recommend this place for breakfast we had the Manc Muffins and they are better than a McDonalds one.

Google
Lovely little cafe/greasy spoon (although this restaurant doesn’t deserve the sometimes negative perception of the phrase greasy spoon) The vibe was great and the food options were fantastic - I got the Scottish breakfast (can’t remember the exact name) but it was all perfectly cooked and really tasty. Strongly recommend.

Google
About a 30mn wait for a table on Sat and Sun this weekend which is fine. Hostess very friendly. Food came within a reasonable time 15mns. Drinks took longer than food. My filter coffee took 25mns so I thought they'd forgotten it. Orangina also took 20mns; the waffles came first! RUDE WAITRESS when it came to pay. We asked to pay and take the service charge off as it said "opt" for optional on the bill as obviously we're just out for breakfas. Service charge is also always a choice. The waitress went to take it off the bill and came back and thrust the card machine in our face and we tried to say thank you and she walked off, visibly in a mood at us. Left a very sour taste in my mouth. I'm sure she's not representative of all the staff but tipping for brunch is 1. A choice 2. Not customary regardless

The best breakfast I have ever had! The service was great Halle was our waitress & she was so lovely, kind & made sure we had everything we needed! Breakfast was amazing! Definitely be back the next time I’m in Manchester.

Yelp
Customer service is terrible, the waiter went to another table that sat after us. After that went outside to chat. I am pretty sure we've been sitting here for about 10 mins. Ambiance is retro, old skool, probably a pretty nice hangout if not for bad service....it's cute. We are here for the food soooooo, that's why we are still sitting here. I try to actually try a traditional breakfast when I go to different countries, so far; Full English is my least favorite. Bacon, Beans (too sweet, almost like out of the can), eggs (wasn't over easy, it was fried and hard). Should've just asked for poached eggs. Tomato, butter mushrooms, sausage and blood sausage (don't do it, unless you have some type of sauce!). Texture was not what I was expecting for that. Nothing was seasoned, just bland. Peppermint tea helped wash it down!! My companions had the All American pancakes, sausage, with eggs. The other was Turkish Egg which both looked fantastic. Not sure if I would go back...

Yelp
It was my first time being overseas and I wanted to have a traditional English breakfast. I found this location and it looked good. I ordered their full English breakfast and my meal looked appealing. Although, this dish is very simple, it was tasty and light as well. What I liked was the hashbrown. I the states, a has brown usually comes very oily but this one was light and crunchy. It doesn't come with a black pudding so you have to order it to receive one. Again, I wanted the full experience. I knew what is was made out of and it wasn't as bad as I expected. I really enjoy this spot and the atmosphere.

Yelp
Helping Mrs Z with her crafty market goings on in Ancoats a few werks back we decided to have breakfast first. We had been meaning to go to Koffee Pot for a while,so that day was then..... My name is Lee and I have a problem. That problem is an Eggs Benny,if it is on the menu I will order it. If it isn't on the menu (And it is breakfast time) I will go elsewhere, anf yes, even Morrissons!! Koffee Pot didn't let me down, the eggs were beautifully done, plenty of runny golden yolky goodnes, plenty of hammy hammines and a great thick oozing hollandaise sauce... It was nigh on perfect and I would have it again in a heartbeat! Quality!

Yelp
This place was packed when we came, and the reviews look great, but for us, it was a pretty standard breakfast- nothing particularly special. Prices are reasonable and service is good.

Yelp
*Note - this is a review of The Real Junk Food takeover event, so might not reflect Koffepot* I have attended a couple of times event hosted by The Real Junk Food Project, where a professional chef cooks food that otherwise would have been thrown away due to being past 'sell by' date. The project is on pay as you feel basis, so you decide how much you pay. This applies only too food though, for beverages you have to pay at the Koffepot's bar. All the three times I have been there, the food was just delicious! Sophisticated enough to make posh restaurants jealous. The meal consists of three courses: a starter, main dish, and Dessert. There were two options present, one is veggie. From my experience, non-vegetarian dishes are bigger, while I when I had veg-only dinner it left me hungry;) I think the idea is great, and thanks a lot to Koffepot for hosting the event!

Yelp
The Koffee Pot's name wholly belies the extremely interesting and important fact that it is secretly one of the best value cocktail bars in Manchester. Unsurprisingly, the espresso martini was excellent and with 2 for £8 in the happy hour deal (rightly touted as the best value deal in Manchester) it is incredible value. The NQ Breakfast Brunch that Andy and Oonagh had was also really nice - marmalady flavour! I also liked that they specifically say on the menu they are happy to make any of the classics, although their own list includes a perfectly balanced range of styles. There is also a small but good beer and wine offering. Will definitely be back and encourage everyone to try this place Tues - Sat evenings!

Yelp
When I'm in Manchester, The Koffee Pot is one of my favorite places to eat, most especially when I'm craving a substantial, full English breakfast. The menu has a very broad selection, with a number of different dishes to choose from. You can pick and choose whatever you like, or opt for a full English, Scottish, or Irish breakfast. On my 2nd to last visit, I opted for the full English breakfast, and my friend went with a veggie breakfast; we also shared an order of sourdough toast. The food was exceptional - just the ticket to start a full day! The wonderfully spiced and perfectly prepared Bloody Mary I ordered complimented the meal perfectly :-) My friend and I enjoyed our breakfast so much that Friday morning that we came back for a leisurely weekend brunch the next day. I went with the salt beef bagel, which was very good, and my friend chose something from the specials menu that turned out to be even better! I highly recommend this place for an outstanding breakfast or brunch anytime you're in Manchester.

Yelp
The best full English / full Scottish breakfasts in the northern quarter. The Koffee Pot is your local 'greasy spoon' meets creative, bearded hipster. I indulged in a cooked breakfast that consisted of everything you could want, and then some. The black pudding was ace and the sausages were stunning. All washed down with a hot vimto. So Manc - I love it. They have an excellent breakfast and brunch menu, and sell light bites and sandwiches too. Their late afternoon dishes looked fab - the chorizo hash I bet is particularly good. It's a must try!

Yelp
Woah. This place is exceptional - don't be put off by the appearance as it looks like a super basic diner but the food was epic. I love the options for full breakfast - English, Irish and Scottish all catered for, as well as veggie and vegan options. I went for the full veggie breakfast and then noticed wings on the menu. And yes, they are available for breakfast so I got those too. No judgement from the waiter which was nice. There wasn't too much of a wait for food, and I was super excited for the wings when they arrived. Smothered in hot sauce and served with a cream dipping sauce they were just perfect. So delicious. I also loved the veggie breakfast - the best veggie sausages I've ever had. So yup, this place was epic. I will definitely be coming back here ASAP.

Yelp
Still harbouring the quest of finding a good breakfast..this was the next destination on my yelp radar. Having collected my friend from the 'armoured train' as he calls it ..we set out our journey here laden with heavy Xmas gifts. We were immediately greeted and invited to sit at the far back near the toilets. This place is huge, full of squishy booths. Even though this place had a refurb a year ago (maybe??) It still smelt and looked freshly done. Taking a seat, it was encouraging to sneak peak at the open kitchen to our right..these chefs looked hardworking and ethusiastic. Anyway..food!! I half expected it to be your generic greasy spoon..boy I was wrong lol Yes you can order a full English / scottish/Irish/meat/veggie/vegan breakfast..or casual eggs cooked in various ways..but you can also dive into some haggis, manx kippers , posh sarnies, chicken wings, falafel etc Basically there is something for everyone, no matter what time in the day it is. Mulling over it my friend settled on peanut toast with banana for £5 and I chose the Shakshouka which is thick tomato sauce with feta , pouched eggs on sour dough bread. To drink we had a choc and vanilla shake each..although the vimto slushie sounded intriguing. Right , when you order the peanut toast..make sure you absolutely love peanut butter...and ravenous. Two thick slabs of bread landed, caked in the stuff! And weighed down by a boat full of bananas. Mine looked intriguing..a kind of stew with chunks of bread...a spoonful left me pleasantly surprised..the tomato was smoked and reminded me of chipotle ..the feta and poached eggs really married together well too..unfortunately this was deceptively filling. Glancing over, my friend also looked defeated behind his peanut butter mountain..so we slurped our shakes and waved the white flag. Overall a very good for value breakfast/brunch place with good friendly service at reasonable cost..I would say, come here if you are truly hungry...if not SHARE something as the portions are huge.. my journey for a good brecfast in Manchester..has ended :)

Yelp
I finally made it to Koffee Pot, to see what all the fuss was about. I never went to the old one, and whilst I knew it was there I never paid it any attention until all the fuss about them closing/moving kicked off. This is about as good as a greasy spoon can get. It's not trendy/funky/hipster or whatever you want to call most eateries in the Northern Quarter, but it does what it does exceptionally well. It certainly has a clean, fresh and honest feel about it. Where is the limit of the Northern Quarter? This place is pretty far down Oldham St, you're almost in Ancoats. Despite that, when I arrived on a Saturday morning at 10am it was busy inside with few available tables. I ordered an Irish breakfast, which is the same as an English breakfast but with the addition of white puddings and potato cake. Not bad value at £7 as this includes toast and tea/coffee. It was all cooked to perfection and really delicious. Comfortable, friendly, clean, efficient, great food. I'll definitely be back. I imagine if they were more centrally located they would have long wait times for a table. What I do like about their location is that they are breathing some life back into a part of town which had previously fallen on hard times and is definitely on the up. There are so many things on their menu, I want to try them all. Especially the Manx kippers!

Yelp
Nipped to the new Koffee Pot after getting the idea from Jess S and have to say - good news, everything is still as good as it was even if it has moved 3 mins around the corner! In fact there's now so much room that it could actually be a good move for them if they can get the original clientele to remember that they're up the top of Oldham Street and attract some newbies. Specialising in amazing breakfast items and a full range of pimped up British classics, I went for the haggis with spinach and eggs for £6 and it was pretty amazing. Washed down with a flat white with beans from Ancoats coffee co - it was a real delight! I'll definitely be going back again soon!

Yelp
Still hadn't been to try the food here so it was perfect when we needed to plan a big party brunch! First of all, they have plenty of seating. Second and best reason to come here with a big party is because you can book a table! So many places don't take bookings or require a deposit so we were very please. The decor inside is okay and the there's not much atmosphere unless an urban gallery between curations count as atmosphere. The menu was short and sweet. We sampled the veggie breakfast, full english, rarebit containing haddock on sourdough, mushrooms on toast. The rarebit was the clear favourite, you can add streaky bacon for £1.50 and I asked if I could have it with their famous salt beef! It was a good shout! I wished that the sourdough was not so soggy though. The food came quickly but drinks were slow (and I suspect it was because out waitress was a bit slow at her job). All in all, it's a good pace to go to. Don't be put off by the queue, people finish up and don't linger too long so the queue moves quite quickly. If in doubt, book a table!

Yelp
Manchester's northern quarter is literally full of places to get breakfast. This week we stopped by to try out one of the new additions to the scene in the shape of Koffee Pot. The restaurant has been designed with the modern stripped back approach that I am a big fan of. Very simple and stylish. I also like that the menu offers something a little bit different here, for breakfast you have a choice of your standard options as well as some more unusual things like my choice of haggis, eggs and spinach. My food looked great but I was not asked how I would like my eggs which could have been a nice touch. My eggs were fried so I had slight food envy when my friends were scrambled...with the amount of food I have eaten this week any chance to be healthy is more than welcome. The haggis was good though, definitely not something I have had for breakfast before but would have again. One final thing to mention is the choice of music on in the background during our visit. I am a big fan of 6 music and it's great to hear restaurants playing it! Lovely stuff.

Yelp
This is the new location for Manchester's famous Koffee Pot, and if you, like me, are a certified Pot Head, you won't be disappointed! All the charm of the old location but brighter and cleaner feeling with a superb new mural to boot! Food is as good as ever (best Cheese on toast in the city by a mile!) and a superb filter that beats the heck out of the high street favs. Greasy spoon it may be, but damned if it ain't the best damn greasy spoon you'll ever visit.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Not having been to their original site nearby, when The Koffee Pot reopened and what with all the raving about the place I brought a mate who was visiting Manchester for the weekend to try it for brekkie. It's not exactly the back-of-beyond in this part of the city centre but let's just say it's not the most inviting of areas to look at. Inside, it was bustling with diners all grabbing a late breakfast; I believe the space is maybe twice as large as their original café. Lots of seating running down along one side and the kitchen area/counters in the centre. We were shown to a free booth straight away and left to peruse the menu. As well as a few cooked breakfasts they also offer a number of mains such as salt beef & potato hash and smoked haddock rarebit on sourdough toast - so it's definitely not a 'greasy spoon'. I ordered the Full English and my friend the Irish Breakfast. The portions weren't particularly generous (for those with an appetite) and the quality of the food was ok but I was a bit underwhelmed eating here given all the hype. I'd consider coming again to try something else, but would probably go to Home Sweet Home for breakfast instead. Tip: they take bookings for six or more people, for less than that they operate on a first come first served basis.

Yelp
New location, same quality. Really quick, friendly and personal service as soon as I walked in the place, no one left me groping at booths. Salted beef and mustard bagel was spot on; £2 for an apple juice a little pricey, but it was a perfect companion to the mustard dressing. Great breakfast and lunch for a reasonable price in the NQ.
google avatar

Paul R.

Yelp
Don't judge me. This is my second visit in 2 days. It is a bank holiday weekend! It looks like a greasy spoon cafe. There's probably a queue outside and a waiting list. The tables will be sticky. Your mum would probably turn her nose up. But stick with it if you need breakfast or brunch; my mum now loves it too. The food is top rate. There are 6 full fry ups to choose from including a veggie vegan Irish Scottish and a full English. Or go posh with salmon and eggs, rarebit or avocado bacon and eggs. Need sweet try buttermilk pancakes with a huge shake or one of the funky cakes. Joyous and guaranteed to cure a fragile head, probably!

Yelp
Been here just the once but plan to go back again. Went with few friends for a post-meal drink nearby. We were just looking for someone for a quick drink and we spotted the "happy hour" deal! The Happy Hour deal is on every night and between 4pm to 10pm. Deal includes £3KP Pints, 2 cocktails for £8. Just looking at their web site and they are other deals/offers - different every day. For example 10pm wings on Wednesday. The cocktail I had was called NQ Breakfast Brunch which tasted good. Tasted pretty strong! (The 2 cocktails for £8 had to be the same cocktail). Its just a shame its not a bit closer to me but I think I will be going back soon especially for those 10p wings! I look forward to trying more out but from my one visit, I like the place - like the interior, good cocktail, good deals.

Yelp
Sadly it's lost the vibe of the original location. I knew it was unlikely to retain the greasy spoon feel of the original location. It's still a great cafe though, however, the fact that it's trebled in size has not actually made it any easier to get a table. You will unfortunately likely wait 5-10min for a table. But hey this is pretty good for a busy Saturday morning in the NQ. They do now make a very good flat white, which is a massive upgrade from the dripolator option at their old site. They've retained their mix of breakfast dishes giving you a choice in English, Irish, Scottish and veggie cooked breakfasts along with light bites and specials. They have also kept the red faux leather booths but now added picnic style benches down the middle of the large space for bigger groups. I will have to return to see how the lunch/dinner vibe fares.

Yelp
My friends and I were in dire need of coffee but were not yet hungry. This spot was right next to our hostel and worked well for us. It took about 15 minutes before we were actually able to order our coffee. It was when I got tired of waiting and stood up to go to the counter and place the order when someone came to take our order. Overall, the coffee was good but I'm hoping their service is a bit better when it comes to dining in. ENJOY!
google avatar

Andy H.

Yelp
city centre is very busy but there's always enough seats for the people. They do wide range of cakes which are very lovely and a wide range of sandwiches and snacks and a variety of cold drinks. the staff was very friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Richa S.

Yelp
For the Americans: As an American, tried the English fry up and loved it. Baked beans not as sweet as in the states. Sausage more flavorful than last time I've had sausage in England. Bacon was like Canadian bacon. The fried egg was so amazing fresh. Half a warm tomato gives a food cut to the platter. Hash brown cake was perfectly crispy. And i like blood pudding! It's a black grain cake. And yes it's pork blood but you can't tell. The flavor is like stuffing. Definitely recommended.
google avatar

Laura J.

Yelp
I loved my haddock rarebit! The new location is fine, but it is missing the 'feel' of the old place. If they fill up the corridor like space that splits the room with extra tables, it would help get that cosy atmosphere back.
google avatar

Anthony David S.

Yelp
I'm a long serving patriot of Koffee Pot. So you an understand my worry when they changed location, great thing sis it's still just as good With a nice shuffle of the menu and brilliant coffee on offer its a great breakfast shout. The salt beef and potatoe hash with fried duck egg is a great little dish! Overall if your looking for a easy bite to eat, here's your place!
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
Had a good breakfast at the Koffee Pot on Sunday. With some good and bad points - starting with the good: Pros: Decent sized breakfast - left feeling satisfied without overstuffed (like I normally do in cafes) Everything you could want on the fry-up - hash brown, check, black pudding check, bacon sausage and egg, check... Builders tea served in proper mugs Cons: 15 minute wait for a table, followed by 20 minute wait for drinks and 40 minute wait for our food Would have preferred tinned toms to grilled but that's just me! If your on the hunt for a fry up in Manchester definitely give it a go!
google avatar

Sofia D.

Yelp
The best pancakes I've tasted in Manchester! And great brunch dishes. Walked past this place loads of times and never thought to go in but can't wait to come back to try the sarnies. Great service and a great vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
Always an awesome breakfast. Staff are usually really friendly and restaurant is always clean and tidy. Recommended to friends and always take the family here when they come up to visit.
google avatar

Lilija B.

Yelp
Simple and very delicious breakfast. The bread I got with scrambled eggs and salmon was the best I ever had anywhere. Waitress said that they're making it in the kitchen, such a pity I couldn't buy it.
google avatar

Nathan Vincent L.

Yelp
I ordered the Reuben sandwich and got my sandwich in less than 10 minutes of waiting. I enjoyed the sandwich. But, the server forgot to give us our cutlery though. My friends ordered the pancakes and there were mixed reviews. The pancakes were more doughy and not that fluffy. The English and Scottish breakfast is consistently good however, and it comes with a coffee or tea which is really yummy.
google avatar

Justin A.

Yelp
New location they now have toilets and a card machine. The food is tasty and good value. Always worth a visit.

Courtney C.

Yelp
We've been here twice. The breakfast was good. I had the salt beef hash and it was good (but not necessarily anything to write home about). We are salt beef/pastrami fans. Came back for dinner and my partner had a Reuben. He said, and I quote "THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST PASTRAMI SANDWICHES I'VE EVER HAD, NOT JUST IN BRITAIN, IN THE WORLD". So, it has his endorsement. I like the atmosphere too.
google avatar

K W.

Yelp
Had a veggie brekkie and added halloumi - it was delicious! The staff was nice and helpful. The only thing that keeps me from giving a 5 star is that i really love coffe, but their filter coffe was no fun at all.

Brandon S.

Yelp
If you're looking for an English breakfast and are not into a posh avocado toast place, this is the ticket. Cool diner vibes, delicious coffee, and great music. If you'll be adventuring in the Northern Quarter, make this your first stop to fuel up for the day.
