A Truly Magical Stay at The Kraal I can’t recommend The Kraal enough – it’s an absolute slice of paradise, right on the ocean. From the moment we arrived, the sound of waves crashing on the shore and the salty breeze instantly set the tone for a perfect getaway. The location is unbeatable – just steps from the beach with stunning views in every direction. We fell asleep each night to the soothing sound of the ocean under a sky full of stars, and woke up to dolphins playing in the waves right in front of us. It was like something out of a dream. The service was incredible – warm and welcoming , without ever feeling intrusive. And the food? Let’s just say we’re still dreaming about their pizza – hands down the best we’ve ever had. Our room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and super comfortable. Everything about our stay felt effortless and relaxing. If you're looking for a peaceful, breathtaking spot by the sea with top-notch service and unforgettable experiences, The Kraal is it. We’ll definitely be back!

The Kraal is the most incredible stretch of the Wild Coast we’ve visited. Could spend endless days watching the dolphins and whales come into bay, settled into the crest of the valley. Our host, Dillon, is super accommodating and welcoming — providing amazing insight into the surroundings and the community. We only wish we had more days! What a magical place that’s feels at the edge of the earth ✨

Staying at the Kraal was absolutely beautiful. It’s a wonderful backpackers’ lodge perched on a little hill with a stunning view of the ocean. From there, you can spot dolphins and whales and head out on exploration tours to the tidal pools and the beach. We also had an epic stand-up paddleboard mission (lend by the backpackers) up the river and took a walk into the nearby village. Everyone we met was super friendly and relaxed. A big thank you to Dylan, the owner of the Kraal, for welcoming us and sharing all the important and helpful information. Staying at your place was a truly wonderful experience.

Magnificent spot! Dolphins on tap, warm and friendly place, lovely rooms, and the best pizza I’ve ever had. Rustic and eco. Not for the faint hearted getting here but worth meeting Dillon who is a great host!

Rooms are cute and rustic. Increible backpacking vibes. Location couldn't be perfect with breathtaking views and a quiet, tranquil environment. Fully self catered with possibility of meals being prepared. Warm and kind staff.

Dillon's Place, Kraal Backpackers is the place to be when you anywhere near Mpande. From warm welcoming with an ice cold beer to nice music, I'm running out of words. What I can say is 'its the best'.

We had such a lovely time staying here this past weekend. It was the perfect stress-free getaway — no pressure, no expectations, just a place where you can truly relax and be yourself. My friends and I had so much fun, whether we were hanging out on the beach, chatting on the deck, or curled up with a book on the couch. It’s such a welcoming community too — every time you go, you’re bound to meet kind, down-to-earth people. The space is fully self-service, so bring your own food and drinks, but that just adds to the easygoing vibe. They host pizza nights sometimes, which are always a treat. Highly recommend if you're looking to unwind and reconnect.

An eco friendly, eclectic spot in the isolation of a part of South Africa few people get the privilege of visiting. We were a part of 10 on a hiking trip on the wild coast. We loved it. Great vibe, food and well stocked bar a massive bonds.
