I really enjoyed my stay. I booked a room for two nights. My only problem was the cleaning of the room. The sheets had dry blood spots but as a traveler, i always bring my own blanket. There was candy wrappers on the floor and left over coffee inside the maker. But overrall, the staff was excellent and it was quiet. It was just those little mistakes, but overrall i will come back.

In simple English.. the room was clean and fine! The female hotel clerk was nice enough to give me a room on a higher floor. She also gave mean iron/board to iron my suit. The bathroom/shower was fine, One complaint.. lousy breakfast with a coffee percolator whose handle won t raise.. you flood the plate below, or burn your fingers.

Positive: For the price it was clean and the shower was great! Negative: They say there's free parking but they issue more parking passes than they spaces so they tell you to find street parking. They should list LIMITED offstreet parking, not free parking. I ended up having to pay to park under the bridge a block away.

The rooms are a bit outdated, but the price-quality ratio is good; I would really change the shower head. Bed and pillows were comfy, although the double beds here are smaller that the european standard (I think 1.4m instead of 1.6m that we are used to). The size of the room is good, but you do not have a closet or dresser, we used the hangers for the coats and the nightstands for our clothes. Close to the metro, with a direct line to Manhattan center. We were lucky to have a really nice view from the 4th floor to Brooklyn and Manhattan, we saw the Empire State Building at night. I also liked that the cleaning services were only on request; we were here during the holidays and it was ok not to have somebody to do unnecessary cleaning daily, when we only used the room at night. The breakfast buffet is really limited. No protein, only bagels and cream cheese, very sugary muffins, toast, butter and jelly, cereal and milk, coffee, tea and juices. You can make yourself waffles, but the machine is a bit difficult to use. And that's about it. At least it was nice to have a bite to eat in the mornings.

Horrible, discriminatory service. Bland, basic rooms that resemble solitary confinement units. The receptionist Jim or Tim or whatever his name is was incredibly nasty and argumentative during check out. He told me in my response to his condescending attitude, “this is a 2-star hotel! what do you expect?” Lol, trust me if Brooklyn had more options I would have went somewhere else. But to speak to a paying guest in this manner is unacceptable and unprofessional and i’m not sure why he’s employed at all. And over $200 for a proclaimed “2 star” hotel is basically robbery. Don’t book here if you want a place that’s comfortable and staff who treat you with human decency. There was also yelling in the hallways late at night and I could hear multiple phone conversations. Very disappointed.

Google
Horrible service, horrible location. The room? Clean, so that's good, but oddly the toilet was installed at an angle, and the faucets too close to the counter... I guess the only reason to go here is that hotels for visiting NYC are so damned expensive.

Google
The hotel has a good location from my perspective in Brooklyn. It's near to metro station, few minutes to walk into the hotel. Alongside side are many shops to buy groceries, water, fresh pizza 🍕 The hotel itself is nice and clean when you enter. Everyone have to pay $50 as a deposit and they promptly refunded me 4 days after I've left as promised. Rooms are spacious, clean and have a microwave with a fridge. Parking slots outside are available but you have to request a permit from the hotel, otherwise the car will be towed away. The breakfast, what to say? Don't expect too much from it! Coffee, black tea, water, waffle machine, some muffins, and some flavoured sachets of oats. Whey I've tried to talk to the lady who dealed with breakfast, it was unsuccessfully. She didn't even understand me, her English was 0% otherwise fine, don't expect any ham, cheese, fruit, eggs or anything like that, it's unavailable 😒 however, hotel itself is nice 😀

There is nothing about this room that makes it worth $185 for one night. Don’t do it. I will say the gentleman at the front desk seems nice enough and fixed the broken remote issue. Otherwise, I checked in less than an hour ago, and I am completely unsatisfied this quickly. Extremely small rooms, No snack bar to buy drinking water from no drinking water in rooms. 2024 should be standard every room. Drinking Water is a basic lodging need. Somehow, I booked a queen room, got put in a double The only positive I have to say is that the remote got taken care of

Yelp
The L Hotel was one of the few affordable options during the July 4th holiday and it was a decent enough stay. It reminded me of staying inside business hotels in China, and it didn't help that nearly all the staff here are Chinese lol. We stayed on the 3rd floor facing the parking lot and got a semi-view of Manhattan. Our double room was small but not tiny. Bed was fine, AC was working thankfully, and a 24" TV mounted to the wall. The bathroom was pretty modern with a removable shower head, good water pressure, and hot temperature. Our room also came with a mini fridge and an ice bucket is available as well. Sadly, we did not have other amenities such as closet space or an iron. We were in town for a wedding so we had to make due with what we have. Now for the meh... breakfast was honestly a joke. It's a "continental" breakfast consisting of just white bread, bagels, two cereal options, instant oatmeal, and some fruit juice/coffee. It's very bare bones and the dining room is small, so we ended up grabbing our bagel to go. They do have a toaster though for what it's worth. There's also no other amenities such as a restaurant, bar, or fitness center. The hotel is about 4 blocks from Brooklyn's 36th Street Station. It felt safe all times of day and night and a convenient way to get into Manhattan. Overall, a decent stay for a no frills experience. We felt safe and if pricing proves to be an issue elsewhere, I could see myself maybe staying here again.

Yelp
Unfortunately I grabbed only two photos of this hotel but I feel it gives an essence of how the rest of the hotel is. Small, kind of hole in the wall hotel with a brilliantly lit lobby to draw you in. However, the rest of the hotel lacks luster. The hallways are grungy. The room had some poorly patched holes in the wall and the entry doors do not close on their own. In the room you can hear everything from the hallway and neighbors. The breakfast is minimal but the breads were fresh. No water available from anything but the ice machine or cash only vending machines. The beds were quite stiff and hard but sheets were clean. Minimal towels that are quite small. Neighborhood is rather sketchy at night and would not recommend for even experienced solo travelers. Overall would not stay at again and would spend my money elsewhere.

Yelp
And if you need anything else, our 24-hour front desk staff can assist you." Desk staff was spectacularly unhelpful and had no knowledge of area - we asked about a good place to eat and they had no recommendations- despite us discovering on our own the Industry City was a 2 minute walk. Peeling wallpaper, breakfast room was gross....no free newspapers Pics on website are extremely deceptive- lobby is minuscule Whole thing was just dingy and sad and run down. Not sure what kind of boutique they think their hotel is but....it's not any boutique I'd visit. Very disappointed- will NEVER use this brand again. We stayed there the night before a cruise out of Brooklyn - August 2023.

Yelp
Simple basic hotel that met my needs when looking for a hotel to stay at for the Brooklyn Marathon 4 stars because there was free parking (first come first serve), close to the trains and super clean. The street was quite and even with the window open it was pretty peaceful at night 2 stars because the air did not work despite a call to the front desk. Luckily the window opened so we had some air flow but it not we would have been in a sweat box. Definitely would stay here again

Yelp
One of THE main things I look for when booking is enhanced cleaning/sanitation procedures- especially since the pandemic. Well, this time I decided to filter for Location and Free Breakfast, as well. The location was perfect- only a couple of blocks walk away from the subway entrance. This is the extent of my positive review, though. First, for breakfast they did not have fruit or yogurt. There were bagels, toast, cereal, Tang-like juice, coffee, oatmeal, and very cheap paper plates, bowls, and plasticware. The website pictures of this property are outdated. It seems that they've attempted to update, but just haven't kept it up. The shower had beautiful tile, but there was mildew. This could have been avoided by stripping the sealant and re-caulking semi-annually. The wooden flooring was sticky. The mirrors, windows, and headboards had smears for days - When checking in I had only asked for towels daily during the stay. After an initial room change, it turns out that I retracted and requested a thorough cleaning the very next morning. I tried to keep my mind from wandering about what appeared to be male genitalia in the full length mirror at the entrance door inside the room. However, the last night while packing for my flight out the next day I found an empty condom packet between the bed and nightstand. I picked it up with kleenex to place it in a cup just to show the clerk upon checkout. The look on her face was a look of disgust. Imagine me- I slept around this for three nights!

Yelp
Mandy at the front was very irritated with questions that are asked about the hotel room. Which the TV are not smart TV. Also the breakfast is horrible. Cold cereal no variety options for tea. Only liption tea is regular only.

Yelp
I had a wedding to attend in Brooklyn and needed a place to stay. Surprisingly hotels were cheaper than an Air BnB in NYC. My friends spent $1100 for 4 days at an Air BnB while we paid $550 at a hotel. I did not need anything fancy, just a place to store my stuff and sleep at night. The room we stayed in was basic and simple. It barely fit the 2 beds, a desk, the tv, and the bathroom, very typical for NYC. I didn't hear anyone else in the nearby rooms. We did need an iron and ironing board but there wasn't one in the room. We did find a maid who didn't speak English but understood us and brought us one. The AC unit in our room worked great. We only had one roll of toilet paper in the bathroom, if it was getting low then the maids would give us a new one. The "free breakfast" was meh. There wasn't anything hot, just cereal oatmeal, toast, muffins, yogurt, and a juice machine. The breakfast area had handful of tables with chairs and vending machines. One time when I was grabbing some breakfast items, the elevator wasn't working. There are two of them. After a bit of a wait, it decided to work again. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking a for no frills and inexpensive place to stay in Brooklyn. I would come back here again.

Yelp
I stay at the hotel for a short 3 days until my next sublet is available & on my last day they are trying to force me to move rooms when I'm getting ready to go to work 3 scheduled gigs of mine I can't be late at all for. I politely tell them the time I would be available to move rooms and the manager over the phone says that 3'oclock would be too late and they would move my things themself I completely say that is not happening I'm not comfortable with my things being touched I have money, expensive items and electronics . The intial day I got here I had a reservation for a king room and the only they had available was a handicap. Day 1 & 2 I was fine in this room I wouldn't have issue moving rooms if I didn't have 6 luggages and doing this at the moment would make me late as I expressed to the manager and told them the time I would be back to move my things to a new room. He threatens to call the police on me saying I'm refusing to move my things when I clearly gave him a time I can move them and I say call them because I know the law . He asks if I can make it back by 2 I say ok & then he goes to say if I'm not back by 2 they will touch my items. At that point I say I will call the police if any of my items are touched. Do not stay here the manager doesn't respect customers of color, minorities or people apart of the lgbtq. Worst hotel customer service I've ever experienced!!!!

Yelp
Stayed one night in cheapest room available (first floor king) and found everything much better than expected. Free on premises parking (arrive early as spots may fill up) just off 278E exit, quiet side street right in Sunset Park (short walk to subway and historic Greenwood Cemetery), friendly staff, and everything brand new. Very comfy bed with good linens, roomy enough for a yoga session, tv had a few premium channels (HBO, etc.), microwave/fridge/coffee maker/serviceable wifi, and a free continental breakfast (cereal, bagel sort of thing). Really impressed and recommend. If you spend a little more, you may want a room on a higher floor with Manhattan views?

Artin D.

Yelp
All I can say is sucks, don't waste your money. No customer service, breakfast is sucks. We brought group of 44 people from Los Angeles to NY , we trust them but all we receive tons of complain.

DinerFan X.

Yelp
Though we would visit again due to the cleanliness, ease of parking, helpful staff and proximity to both Brooklyn's Chinatown and an express subway line to Manhattan, my wife and I have 3 complaints, one of which is major. Our smallest gripe was that we were provided with only half a roll of TP for a 2 night stay. The front desk staff were happy to provide more on request (as well as an additional pair of coffee pods), but we really should not have had to ask. Worse is the fact that there is no shower bar inside the shower and the shower floor is dangerously slippery. I would highly recommend that guests bring a shower floor mat. Finally, the thermostat auto-switched to HEAT during the afternoon and to COOL at night. Weird! We had to open a window for comfort during the day, yet it got seriously FROSTY in our room overnight.

Yelp
This hotel is supposed to be ascend collection which is apart of blue green vacation and is completely opposite of the hospitality that you get from blue green vacation. let me start of by saying with the understanding that it's not a condo but a small room without a wardrobe area. The breakfast is lame basically a grab and go kinda thing. In our room the wallpaper is peeling in several spots and when we showed the front desk they had no care in the world and basically shrugged it off .seriously for the price of a night it's not worth it. Oh not to mention considering our room was in the end of hall but yet it was significantly noisy I am hard of hearing in both ears where I use hearing aides daily to survive and I could hear noise without them in my ears.so I'm my personal opinion that was so incredibly loud and inconsiderate of the staff because just keep hearing slamming or something like that.mind you it's 9 43 am Monday morning been going on since about approximately 9 which woke me up.i would never recommend this hotel again rather stay somewhere else.compensation would be appreciated since I am a owner of bluegreen vacation and put my trust into the name company. Angry tired disappointed

Yelp
I travel a bunch, and must say this is one of the worst hotels I've stayed at. The rooms are small, which I'm okay with given the hotel is in a big city. It's the third smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in (with a room Marseille France and Rome Italy SLIGHTLY smaller). The important problems begin with the fact the rooms were built very cheap. They couldn't hang doors properly or put enough insulation between rooms. You can hear hallway conversations and actives in any bordering room. The main room doors have a gap below them large enough to make a big difference in noise. The breakfast is horrible. The staff was so oblivious they couldn't even bother to put the utensils in the cups correctly. They left the eating part up- gross. The beds are also very firm, but not in a good way. I am 6'1 180 and I could feel the springs. The bathroom was above average, with a nicer tile shower. The price was also decent for the area. Too bad they made so many bad decisions on a brand new hotel. They could Have done much better with a LITTLE more effort. I expect more from choice hotels.

Kathi C.

Yelp
Reasonably priced, convenient to the subway, and super clean. This brand new hotel is definitely a great choice for staying in Brooklyn or as an alternative to spending loads of money for a hotel in Manhattan. Some nice details: real towels (not those postage stamps most hotels offer, actual bath sheets), amazing *removable* shower head with multiple settings, comfy business chair at desk, large display alarm clock (perfect for looking at the time without contacts/glasses), small frosted glass pane in bathroom door (I found this handy at night -- left the bathroom light on, closed the door and then didn't feel like I was going to bump into anything if I got up at night).

Maggie T.

Yelp
UPDATE: Overcharged after stay. We had canceled a room more than 24 hours in advance but still charged a no show fee for the room. This was never addressed with the guest that checked in on the same reservation. I called 4 times asking to have receipts emailed to me. Customer service this time around was not good. I asked to speak with a manager and was told to call back at maybe 7 pm both times. Never got in touch with him/her. This hotel recently changed its name to the L hotel. I'm guessing they had several issues and had to change the name so people could not find the previous reviews. After spending at least $2,000 we will not be returning.

Oluwasolami A.

Yelp
Has all the basics but low quality. You can definitely hear hallway and neighboring room noise. The bathroom is beautiful but quite small and the beds are uncomfortably firm; the sheets are a bit rough. Also the tv only has one channel- Fox News. Overall it's mid, not a bad price tho.

Jacob H.

Yelp
Filthy hotel, rude front desk staff, alarms going off in unattended rooms every morning I stayed here (had to call the front desk twice to have alarms turned off after they had been going off for an hour plus), mold on the ceiling and grease all over the desk in my room when I checked in. This place is just gross. The proximity to Industry City might be its only saving grace if that was something to be excited about to begin with. Total waste.

Nah F.

Yelp
I had a pretty good stay. Good price for New Year's Eve. Friendly front desk employees. The only issue I had was the thermostat could not be changed by the guest and it got really cold. But it was just for one night

M. H.

Yelp
This hotel might like nice from the outside, but I assure you it is the shittiest hotel in Brooklyn. I was assigned a C level room, this is below the first level and I paid the regular price that all hotel guests pay. The room was small as hell and the bed was not comfortable at all. Save your money and go somewhere else, spend a little a more and get way more value. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless they are selling rooms in the $5 to $10 range.

Laura S.

Yelp
We stayed here for two nights in a room in the first floor. It reminds me of hotels I've stayed at in Europe. The breakfast we liked a lot... Bagels, muffins, bread, spreads, really good coffee from the nescafe machine, fruit, cereal, yogurt. The room was small but comfortable although they definitely needed more towel racks in the bathroom. Shower pressure was great! Front desk was friendly and helpful. Small parking lot in back and free asking right in Street out front in weekends. It wasn't there most luxurious please I've ever stayed but it was very comfortable and for the price a good deal. Close to Subway, the industry City area and there's even a yoga studio tight down the block.

Betty G.

Yelp
We loved our stay at the hotel, Lu was super nice and caring impressing us by going above and beyond our needs! I would recommend this hotel to everyone looking for a clean place to stay near the port! I had a migraine and needed a bit of extra time before checking out out and Lu was so sweet and understanding! Thank you so much and looking forward to our next stay

Gmoney G.

Yelp
dont stay here!! beds are basically like sleeping on bricks, got eaten alive by bed bug bites. people who work here are carefree. dont help you with your bags you basically have to be your own bellhop. for paying $200 a night its deffinitely not worth it. breakfast is diet yogurt and cheap bagels and crappy coffee. i guess people like it? i get that its new york and rooms are small but this place needs a major upgrade. i didnt book the stay here someone else in my party did. i now leave with my entire body itchy and excruciating back pain from the hard uncomfortable bed.

Jerry O.

Yelp
TV, internet, and parking advertised, but none were available to us. Mediocre breakfast. Overall, poor value for the price in my view, even after the small adjustment for the lack of advertised services. Recommendation: avoid.
