The Lakehouse Cameron Highlands

We loved it here. The hotel arranged our transfer from sungai pelak, with the helpful, friendly Mr M, who was very informative. On arrival we were greeted warmly by reception and also Samantha, we were shown to our delightful room overlooking the terrace and lake and the lovely little fruit shops opposite. All the staff without exception are wonderful. Food was great, we really enjoyed the Sunday roast and the theatre of the baked alaska presentation. We enjoyed freshly baked scones served on the terrace. We had several trips out and around the area, with Mr M who took us to a tea plantation, bee farm, market, lavender farm, all great. We also went to a local butterfly farm which I would not advocate if you care about animal welfare! We wished we could have stayed longer at the Lakehouse.

It was truly a memorable experience of 3 days and 2 nights. The rooms and the other parts of the property were extremely clean. The vast compound and sprawling flower gardens added to the beauty of the whole place.All facilities were very good and up to date. The food was very good. Above all the staff was very good, knowledgeable, friendly, and went out all the way to help us when requested. We would definitely look forward to making more trips here in future.

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Lakehouse, from the manager Ms Samantha to all her staff, they were attentive, friendly and their service was indeed impeccable. We had a lovely family suite, enjoyed the beautiful garden filled with beautiful flowers. The restaurant served excellent food, compliments to the chef with his creative cooking made a simple fried rice tasted heavenly, not to mentioned beef rib redang etc. A special thanks to Faridus who went out of his way to buy a can of lychee to make lychee martini for us! This is truly one of the best short holiday that we all will cherish & remember for a long time.

We had a wonderful stay at The Lakehouse and were very satisfied overall. The staff were extremely friendly, professional, and efficient throughout our visit. The food in the restaurant as well as the breakfast were both very good and of high quality. The hotel itself is very well maintained, clean, and beautifully designed in a charming English style, which made the stay feel special and relaxing. We can highly recommend this lovely hotel. The only minor drawback might be the distance to some of the main attractions, but the tour organized by the hotel was excellent and very enjoyable. We would definitely come back again and would gladly recommend this hotel to our friends.

I was disappointed with this hotel. Where can I start? The only good thing was the flowers in the smallish garden. The hotel is on a main road with quite heavy traffic, especially during the weekends (scooters particularly). It overlooks a muddy lake! Rooms are extremely dark and hence despite the size are claustrophobic. Bed is 150 cm wide which at the price they charge, is too small. Breakfast was very limited. Dinner were the same. The only two items on the menu worth ordering were their 2 salads, Cakes and scones for the afternoon tea were very poor. Doughy scones and low quality cakes and pastries. Staff were very good but they could not change the hotel or the quality of the food however much they tried. Hotel has no other amenities, swimming pool, spa… nothing. So you would be relaxing reading your book looking at the muddy lake! I am sorry to give such a harsh review but had this hotel cost £100 per night I would have given it 4 star but at £300+ per night I want everything perfect.

Fabulous 3 night stay at the Lakehouse. The hotel is calm, peaceful and full of character. The staff are all very friendly and keen to help. Breakfasts also very good. We had a deluxe suite (room 5) with plenty of space and great views.

The Lakehouse has old world charm, mixed with modern amenities. Our room was a deluxe suite and was very large and spacious. Everything worked and was a most comfortable stay. The dining experience is equally good with a young and enthusiastic staff always wanting to please, without being intrusive. So, overall fully deserves our 5 star rating. If one is looking for a great place to stay in the Cameron Highlands, this is it. Thank you.

Very welcoming staff upon arrival; offered help to carry our bags and was helpful with queries and open to feedback, esp the young Indian lady at the reception. She was also the waiter at the in-house restaurant. Deco feels true to old English countryside. Nice variety of flowers made for photogenic vibes. The garden had me waking up before daylight so I could chew the scenery for longer. Food had generous portions and their coffee cocktail was decent. Small room for improvement: the pancakes were dry and a bit bland. The authentic honey from the buffet spread made up for it. Recommended to come during off peak season so you can have the common rooms to yourself. Esp when Christmas is ard the corner!
