The Lakeside Hotel and Leisure Centre

During our trek across Ireland, we spent two wonderful nights at The Lakeside Hotel and Leisure Centre. Our river-view room was fantastic—beautiful views from the patio, along with lovely decor and a maritime theme that added a special touch. The food was excellent, and the complimentary breakfast was one of the best I’ve had. The pool and spa facilities were great too, featuring a dry sauna, steam sauna, and cold plunge, perfect for relaxing. All hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel’s location was very convenient, close to local restaurants and the market. Highly recommended for a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

A stunning location with top notch staff but sadly not able to enjoy the ambience of the hotel as much as we would have liked due to weddings and an all day dance event .|I voiced my concerns to the management who were very sympathetic but at the time of booking I was told about 1 wedding only . They do have a separate room for the actual wedding meal but then the bar is in the main hotel and seating for residents is an issue. On the Sunday there was no seats at all due to the dancers and sadly didn’t book our evening meal there as it was manically busy . I believe it was a last minute decision to host this event. |When you pay a premium for a hotel it should be accessible to relax to residents 24/7.|If I’d wanted to sit in my room I’d have booked an Airbnb. |We loved our accommodation though which was serviced regularly by amazing staff 👏|Tip! The rooms were lovely and spacious with a lovely balcony. We had dinner booked for the evening with complimentary prosecco throughout our 3 course meal in a quite private area. Our server was a lovely girl so sorry I didnt get her name. The service was nice & relaxed we finished our night in the bar with a few drinks listening to some live music, all the staff were so friendly & attentive. We had breakfast ordered to our room while relaxing in comfy hotel robes & slippers while watching people pass by on the lake with boats. A true slice of heaven we really didnt want to check out. We will most certainly be back again and will Indulge in a stay in the waterfront rooms!! Thank you so much to all the staff throughout the hotel we could not have wished for a better weekend of pure bliss!!

We stayed at the Lakeside for my boyfriends birthday. We booked a Waterfront room. I would recommend it, the room was beautiful right on the lake. There was a lovely hand written card for Kevin and a birthday plate. The staff were so friendly. Breakfast was very nice. We will definitely go back again.

Stayed at the Lakeside hotel for my birthday. And have to say the staff at check in made it very special Ellen who checked us in gave us a complimentary upgrade and Anna was also there and she was very lovely. They even sent up cute treats to the room! Ken was also very helpful throughout our stay. We chose to have dinner at the bar in the hotel and the food was amazing (as well as the cocktails!). The bar staff were very attentive checking in with us and very kind. The location was very central and staff were happy to give advice on locations and store my birthday cake in the kitchen. The breakfast was also very lovely as well as the restaurant staff always good to see smiles in the morning. Overall an amazing stay and definitely will be back! Thank you to all the staff at the hotel.

Wonderful hotel - 💯 recommend. Beautiful waterside rooms. Great selection at breakfast with great staff. Big shut out to Sean who delivered excellent service and attention at breakfast. Superb service. Thank you.

A fantastic place to stay, an oasis among traditional Irish culture. Multi bars, on both sides of the river. Anna the receptionist was beyond helpful in finding me a quieter room, and even gave me a choice. Excellent customer service, and attentive. Thanks, Anna, you get my employee of the month. My only criticism was the staff in the breakfast room asking us multiple times, 'Is everything okay?' We were asked at least 10 times, by 2 members of staff. All was okay, but it started to get annoying. Once to be asked is enough.

The Lakeside Hotel generously allowed us to base ourselves there for our Lap the Lough cycle and use the showers in the leisure center afterwards. What a gorgeous location! Outstanding staff. And the team meal afterwards was outstanding. Really happy with the whole experience. Many thanks from the South Tipp Cycling Club!
