The Landing Grill & Sushi Bar

We had a very nice experience at the Landing Grill and Sushi Bar Res. - great food, great service,and great locations. It has a breathtaking view where you can enjoy the meals and the view. We ordered the soup and salad, Korean Steak, and K2 Sushi - all are very tasty. I will definitely come back again, but for dinner to enjoy the sunset view. This place has my strong recommendation.

We went hear for a group outing with the office and they handled the 20 of us excellently. I was impressed with the nice heaters on their outdoor patio to make you comfortable in the cool air. The wait staff was very attentive and served us well. Despite having 20 of us, the food came out close together and hot and fresh. Sitting next to the lake was a treat with all of the beautiful scenery despite the cloud cover. I will certainly go back when I am in the area.

This is the condition of the sushi that was given to us for a takeout. These rolls are not even properly assembled. We ordered a Rainbow roll too with fish that was not fresh. Big difference in the quality of food and service since my previous visit as a dine-in customer.

I first visited this restaurant over 20 years ago and had an incredible experience. Hoping to relive that memory, I brought a new date here recently and was very disappointed. Even with a reservation, we were asked to wait for a table. I noted it was her birthday, but no one acknowledged it. We came specifically for the Baked Alaska, and when our waiter realized that was all we planned to order, his interest in our table vanished—we waited far too long to be served and checked on. The espresso arrived without sugar, and he didn’t ask if we wanted a double. The hostess was equally unfriendly. A simple smile would have gone a long way, but instead she looked like she hated her job and couldn’t wait to leave. The seating area felt overcrowded and loud, packing guests in like sardines. The dish presentation was nice, but it was too small to share and clearly tasted like it was ordered and not made in-house. I truly wanted this visit to match the magic I remembered, but it fell flat—very hard.

I recommend making a reservation to be seated in a timely manner. It took way too long for us to place our order, otherwise the service was good. The calamari was not flavorful at all, the sushi was really good. Upon receiving the check, it said nothing about the tip being included. We were splitting the check between several people and figured out a tip, when the waiter came back with my card and receipt, he said the tip was included. It would be great to know ahead of time that the tip is included, it was not mentioned anywhere as it is at other restaurants.

I’ve ordered the “sushi,” and it’s flavorful, colorful, and generously portioned. The ingredients are fresh, well-balanced, and delicious. However, some portions of the rolls are too big , and the rice is not so sticky, falling apart when trying to eat them. That said, instead of calling it “sushi,” they should label it “American sushi” or something similar, as it’s totally different from authentic Japanese sushi. However, what they serve is still very tasty and worth the try . The wasabi isn’t great, and the bread is just okay. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere, with a beautiful lake view, enhances the experience. The menu is diverse, offering a wide variety of options. It’s definitely a place I would return to for a casual, delicious, and unpretentious lunch.

We checked in for our reservation after calling ahead to request a side lake table for a birthday celebration. When we arrived and checked in, the host told us everything was good to go, so we followed him assuming he would be taking us to our table. Instead, he walked over and began serving another table, leaving us confused about where we were supposed to go. We ended up walking back to the front to ask someone else for help. Despite having called ahead, we were offered a very poor selection of tables and were ultimately placed in a corner. We actually had to find a side table ourselves after trying to track down multiple waiters to assist us After finally sitting down, we waited about 30 minutes and no one came to take our order, we had to flag someone down. The service continued to be disorganized, our main courses arrived before the appetizers. We finished our meals and then had to ask about the appetizers we ordered, which were only brought out after. Horrible experience for the price of $200

You absolutely must not sleep on the Landing Grill and Sushi Bar in Westlake Village. My biggest regret was knowing all these years that they were here and not having come sooner. I think I assumed it was all looks (great views) and couldn't deliver but I was totally wrong and will own it. We had 5 star service, beautiful views and ambiance and their sushi and cocktails were stellar and innovative. I'm already planning my next outing back because I loved this spot. My friend and I came for an early dinner on a weeknight and it was impressively busy. This place is a vibe so I get it. Definitely make a reservation, that helped us get seated immediately. The landing is primarily an outside covered restaurant. The vibes of the lake are absolutely stunning and this made for a romantic meal lol. My friend and I didn't mind, it felt intimate and special. Nice white table cloths and a little more upscale but we still found people were dressed casually. I would say service was one of the highlights of our night. Shoutout to Will for being so attentive, nice and helpful. He was 5 stars all the way from start to finish. My friend and I were impressed that given how busy the restaurant was, the food and drinks came out quickly. We really appreciated that. Will was helpful with giving us menu suggestions and if we needed anything extra he was absolutely on top of it. I'd come back because the service was so great. I love a cute cocktail and the landing has an impressive menu. Also kudos for having photos of the drinks! lol. We love this. The cocktails were pricy at $17 + but that's what you get in Westlake with views. I loved both of my cocktails but for the price point they weren't super strong. My lychee martini was super tasty and pretty but didn't taste like much alcohol. The drink I'd 100% get again was the Kiwi Margarita. Who knew kiwi and some salt would taste so good together? This drink had a little more punch and I really need this drink again in my life, I'll be back. This restaurant has a huge menu. Lots of appetizers and salads. For mains the menu is interesting and it's pretty much sushi or pasta. That was the bulk of the menu but they also did have some classic mains like steak, seafood etc. everyone around us though was getting sushi or pasta. Their sushi is legit and delicious. Super fresh and 5 stars. I'd highly recommend going with the sushi if you come here. The halibut crudo plate was heavenly, super light and pops of citrus. We had a spicy crunch shrimp roll that I'd also get again, the sauce was so tasty and unique, loved the options here for rolls and fresh fish. My friend and I were also convinced by Will to get pasta dishes. The portions are super large and generous. We both opted for seafood pasta options with a creamy tomato sauce, mine had salmon and my friends had shrimp and scallops. The pasta and seafood was good but the sauce was too thin. Will though being the super hero he was though brought us extra sauce and it made the dishes so good. We were impressed. While I did like my pasta dish in the end I would stick strictly with sushi next time or try a salad. You get all of the vibes here and ambiance is a 10/10 that naturally your meal will be a little pricy. Come on, it's lake views at sunset, it's worth paying a little bit more. My friend and I paid about $100 each BUT we ordered so much! Basically for $100 I got two cocktails, split two sushi dishes, and had a large plate of pasta with leftovers to take home. We splurged but for an average dinner my guess is you'll spend about $50-60 a person if you don't order extras or double cocktails. I have no regrets, we had a beautiful dinner, service was top notch and I'm still thinking my sushi rolls and kiwi margarita, I'll 100% be back (and with some friends).

Amazing place to come grab some beers and catch the sunset, no doubt but the food is just a negative twenty on the culinary scale. You lose me at iceberg lettuce on a 20+salad and the pastas were straight up olive garden quality. Staff was nice but just a place to soak in the lake, food is embarrassing

We brought my mom here on her 80th birthday for lunch, and when making the reservation, specified it was her birthday. Most of us got teriyaki bento boxes which were fine, nothing special, the chicken tasted like it was hardly seasoned. The view is nice, but the service was terrible. We came with our dogs and we had water and soup and soup spoons dropped on us and the dogs, items forgotten, and literally no mention of my mom's birthday, literally not even a happy birthday wish. I would not choose to go back here again given our experience and the mediocre food.

The albacore Heaven 3/5 was certainly not heaven and the landing roll was not that great either 3/5. Service was even worse 2/5. I will say that their big eye tuna carpaccio was delicious 5/5.

Always love the view, and the grilled salmon fettuccine I had was so tasty and fulfilling! Service was fast and friendly, we got placed right next to the water, birds darting back and forth--weather was so pleasant. Umbrellas do a pretty good job making outside seating comfortable. Lots of dogs.

Just. don't. Don't go. Or just go to look at the lake and leave. Don't eat at this place. BAD service, nobody cares, Birds everywhere wanting food, overpriced, bad food. I left feeling sick and got sick. Just don't .....

Celebrated Father's Day here. The view once the curtain was rolled up was amazing. The food was delicious. The restaurant was busy so service was a little slow but nothing to cry about. A very nice place to have good food and walk alongside the lake after. We will definitely go back.

The ambiance and view makes up for the very bad service. We sat right by the lake and it was a beautiful day. Unfortunately that was the only positive from our lunch. They were obviously understaffed. We asked for chopsticks 4x, bread 3x and Diet Coke and refill of water 2x. But they were very quick once they brought the Diet Coke and bread to ask if we wanted takeaway boxes. Within about a minute we got the boxes and the check. We weren't even done eating! I guess since we waited on them to enjoy our lunch they wanted us to vacant the table. Food was average but overall very disappointed with the service.

I don't understand the relativity low ratings for this establishment on Yelp. My experience is different. I have always enjoyed my food and beverages at The Landing during the many times that I've dined there. Tonight was the same. I love the proximity to the lake. The ducks are great when they are around.

I've been here many times, and it's always a great experience. The restaurant can be busy at times, but other times it's not, so wait times vary. They offer a huge selection of food, including sushi, which is a nice touch. However, I do wish they had a wider variety of sushi options, as I feel that selection is a bit lacking. The ambiance is beautiful and is what keeps me coming back. Right in front of the lake. Ample amount of parking at no cost. Service could be slow at times depending on the section you are sitting in.

The landing grill and sushi bar is always a magnificent treat. You get the best of both worlds sushi and Italian numerous cocktail drinks and wine. The service is exceptional and the ambience is beautiful with flowers on every table and a view of the lake.

Food was SO BLAND. Completely tasteless. Our waiter was great and the location is nice. But, be prepared to bring your own spices and sauces if you want a tasty meal. I ended up getting my food to go and put my own sauce on it when I got home. Not exactly what I want to have to do with a $100+ dinner. I thought Westlake was supposed to be fancy. I guess money doesn't buy taste.

Terrible service. Wouldn't check in on us at all, food took over 2 hours, my boyfriends food came an hour first and then mine and I told them to just cancel my order it took so long and instead brought my food and check out an hour later. Ran poorly.

Meeting my family to celebrate my wife's birthday. Made a reservation for Sunday at 11 AM figuring a celebration brunch. Nope. The Landing doesn't do brunch (my bad - I should have called to ask). My wife and I each got the portobello mushroom sandwich ($19). Choice of fries or fruit and salad. We got one of each. The sandwich was delish! The fruit was a nice sized portion of mixed fresh fruit. The salad was mostly foo-foo lettuce - not my favorite. Because it was my wife's b'day, they brought a large slice of baked Alaska (comp'ed). Very nice! The ambiance by the lake can't be beat. Overall, service was just OK (especially considering that the restaurant was almost empty at that hour).

1) Went to celebrate my husband's birthday last night. Mentioned it on the reservation, no one said anything. 2) we ordered drinks. 2 of us got them after we finished appetizers and we had to ask for the other 2 drinks twice. (15 min later) 3) two of us got our meals, the other 2 got their's 15 min later. 4) waiter never checked on us. 5) at least the food was amazing, I've been there before, definitely a bad evening. Worst service ever. My husband didn't want to leave a tip for the first time in his life.

The restaurant is very spacious with ample outdoor seating. However, when we requested a table near the lake, we were told they only had tables available for larger groups of 6 to 8 or more. I suggest the restaurant consider a mix of table sizes to accommodate smaller parties of 4 or 2. We ordered both the appetizer and entree, but the entrees arrived before the appetizers, indicating a lack of coordination between their kitchen staff. The sesame crusted ahi tuna was filling and served with a generous portion of vegetables. The stir-fry was surprisingly delicious. The restaurant offers an extensive menu with choices ranging from Italian and Asian to sushi. Furthermore, the dessert was the highlight of our meal. We tried the baked Alaska and it was absolutely delicious.

Very beautiful romantic views of the lake with the restaurant located right next to it. The service can use some help but the views makes it worth the wait. Recommend knowing what you want right after you order drinks to speed up the service. I felt penalized with a lot of extra time for not being ready to order on the 1st ask. This place is best for couples who absolutely love sushi. It's romantic and when you order their "OMG" roll, you'll be saying "Oh My God!" for real. It's that's good. Great alternative is their Conejo Roll. Also tried their Mongolian Beef but it was underwhelming since the meat was chewy and had a lot of fat on it. It has great seasoning on it, but I would not order this again. Again come for the incredible view and their OMG sushi & you won't be disappointed.

I came for mother's day weekend and it was honestly, underwhelming (food wise). I loved the location and aesthetics, as it's near the lake and definitely set the mood. The service was also nice! My family got different pastas while two of us got the sushi option. Out of the pasta we got, the shrimp and scallop were my favorite. The scallop was huge! The sushi was good, but I wouldn't say worth the big price tag and fancy vibes this place gives off.

Excellent food and great view of the lake and sunsets with great costumer service. The ambience is great , food comes on good timing. The waiters have great costumer service, and check on you often. Definitely a classy restaurant to Go to !! Highly recommend!

It was a beautiful evening, we were warmly greeted and seated promptly. Our dinner was delicious, everyone enjoyed their entrees. Every table was filled so service was a bit slow, but we were there to dine, not to eat and run, so all was good

My boyfriend and I made a last-minute decision to go to the Landing Grill and Sushi bar for dinner last night. We got a beautiful table near the water just before sunset. Our server, Santos, was very helpful and attentive and was wonderfully kind and the overall service was excellent with no one hurrying us out. We had a relaxing Friday night dinner because of this experience. We shared a martini, edamame and two sushi rolls . The OMG! was delicious. With the yummy rolls they serve, it was more than adequate for both of us for dinner at a fair price and lovely ambience We feel lucky to have such a nice restaurant within miles of our home.

Only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. They apologized for the wait! Great food, service and atmosphere.

Excellent all around! To start, the restaurant is on the Lake. Stephanie, the coordinator, is a gem. She answered every email I threw at her! We were hosting a rehearsal dinner at the Landing Grill. We were out on the lawn. From start to finish, it went flawlessly. The tables were set up when we got there. There was an assistant that jumped in and helped us for anything we needed. The wait staff was exceptional. Most importantly, the food was excellent. We did the buffet. The food was always hot. The bartenders were perfect. There's NOTone item that I could say negative..... On top of it, there's plenty of room for your guests to park!! As you can see, I highly recommend the Landing Grill!!

This place is so cute. You can make a reservation or walk in to eat. There's a restroom inside and I saw two public restrooms in the complex as well. They give you some amazing bread to start off for the night. Service was great.

You'll want to take everyone you know to the Landing Grill and Sushi Bar! Wide selection of delicious food, but not a confusing or crowded menu, also includes a full sushi bar and awesome "Bento Boxes." I wish I could take the servers with me everywhere I eat, and the it's RIGHT ON the lake! Can't be beat!

The Landing Grill & Sushi Bar turned out to be the ideal place to host my birthday not only because of the gorgeous setting by the lake but the staff and food were excellent, too! Stephanie in Catering & Events helped me with every detail of my party planning with suggestions on menu planning, etc. and Sabrina our server, made the night special since she was always nearby to help and so was the incredible restaurant staff who set our table so beautifully! We will definitely host another event there!

Always a wonderful time at The Landing! First, the setting could not be more perfect. Right on the lake. If you are lucky enough to snag an outside table at sunset, your evening is made! The menu is a huge selection of Asian to Californian. So there is always something for everyone. Service is always super friendly! It may feel a bit slow at times, but the view and food are worth the wait. Relax, have a cocktail and enjoy the view.

This place is unbelievably disgusting. We're here on vacation, staying at the Westlake Inn. Ordered fish and chips- fish was old, rancid and dry. We requested TWICE for ketchup. No ketchup. Ordered crab sushi. Arrived warm and with the stench of rancid mayonnaise. Could not take even one bite. Ordered miso soup. Got a cup full of onions topped with a bit of watered down broth. Completely inedible and I would never ever recommend food from this place. Believe me when I tell you- this place is BAD!

Came here for cocktails and an app waiting to meet friends. Drinks way too sweet. Potstickers were great, as was sushi. Service was slow when restaurant wasn't busy and I wouldn't mind it except servers were visibly chatting with each other rather than helping customers. If you're there to yap and not do your job I'm not sure how you stay employed.

This is our favorite restaurant always celebrating birthdays and special occasions.Love the sushi options and the view is beautiful.The service is really good and friendly.The restaurant is kept really clean and the dinning table always well prepared with again a outstanding view and service.

So the review is mostly for the service, as every time I come here the food is always excellent! Fresh seafood and sushi, well made drinks. Superb! So we made a reservation ahead of time we were about 15 mins early to our 7pm reservation, when our name was called by the hostess we were originally going to be seated in a very back table in the back corner of the restaurant. (Honestly it shouldn't even be a table option) we politely declined and said we were willing to wait longer for a better table. Within 2 mins the manager calls our name again and takes us to an amazing table on the grass with a view of the lake and sunset. So thank you to the manager on Friday night, totally made a difference in our experience and I am sorry I can't remember her name! Also our waitress was excellent! Nancy gave us such good recommendations on menu selections, from cocktails, to food and our dessert! She was funny, attentive and just so nice! She also remembered us from over a month ago too! I will be requesting to sit in her section from now on! Part of the experience of dining out is good service and at The Landing it is always amazing!

Love coming here. I had a wonderful lunch with my husband and son. I was craving a sashimi salad and it was not on the menu. I also sour waiter and he said it won't be a problem and he will ask the chef to make one for me and sure enough I got my cravings satisfied. Delicious salad with fresh greens and tuna with yuzu dressing... amazing ambiance with amazing service.

Great atmosphere. I ordered the pasta with vegetables, shrimp, sausage,& chicken & it was scrumptious. I had leftovers & warmed up the following day which was just as delicious. It's fancy but still very comfortable with being right on the lake. The boats were going in & out. I was yearning for my lake back in MI to relax at.

I greatly enjoyed my meal and the ambience. The staff were good and friendly too :) I found the sushi rice to be particularly flavorful, I ordered that and ate it with their OMG roll since it's 100% fish (no rice roll).

Just went here for the first time to celebrate my husband and mother-in-laws bday. Omg the food was amazing!' I got the Chilean sea bass that came with veggies and the most amazing mash potatoes that even my 7 month old baby was gorging down (and he's super picky) My hubby got the rack of lamb which he enjoyed. My mom in law got tempura shrimp and a stir fry with noodles and loved it, as did my 2 y/o who is also Very picky. Oh and the Ceasar salad I got here was the best Ceasar salad I've ever tasted! As for the drinks- the Pepino was simply amazing. I downed it too fast to even get a picture This is my new go to spot!

Won't return. Nice location, however, at sunset the glare is terrible. We asked the waiter, busboy and hostess 4 times to adjust the shades and zero response. Relief came when the sun finally set. Timing is off in the kitchen. In our party of 4, one person received their entree and another received only half of his entree. After 15 minutes he received his complete order. The other two waited an additional 5 minutes and were served. Avoid the fish and chips. Fish is crispy on the outside and like oatmeal on the inside - you'll need extra napkins to deal with the excess oil. Prices are reasonable but the overall experience was upsetting.

Came here with colleagues after work. We asked to sit outside as the view was really nice of the lake. The menu had so many choices. I had an old fashion that was good. The miso soup starter was smooth and tasted really nice. Everyone wanted sushi, so we decided to share via the lake boat special. The presentation was stunning when placed on the table. At first, we thought it would be too much, but the five of us finished it. For one of our colleagues birthdays, the waitress brought us a slice of baked Alaska. It was fun and a nice bite of sweet to end the meal. If you're celebrating, or just want a nice place to go for great food and a spectacular view, I'd highly recommend you check this place out !

Truly outstanding setting and food. But what makes this and its sister property Nextdoor, The Landing, is the owner Hamid. An absolute gentleman and neighbor, he brings kindness and excellent service to the community. Not just a restaurant owner, he is a fixture of the community and a truly outstanding man. We should all be grateful for having a business owner like Hamid.

Takes forever to take your order, once they take your drink and food order it'll come out immediately then never again. Waited for 40 mins to be served + cashed out and only ate and drank for 15 minutes. Will never come here again. Food was whatever and they gave us a horrible seat even though we requested a good seat since it was my husbands birthday.

We come here often, but tonight the service was particularly bad. Additionally, we ordered gluten free pasta, and only after trying it did we discover that it was not gluten free.

I don't really know how retaurants can keep up with holidays such as Mother's Day, and The Landing clearly demonstrated that they could accomplish such a feat wit hte greatest of ease! We had early evening reservation for dinner. When we arrived, the restaurant had recently transitioned from a long Mother's Day brunch to dinner service... and the place was full. We were promptly greeted and seated, all with smiles and kind wishes. Our experience progressed with excellent and well-timed serivce, thanks to Giselle and the rest of the serving team. From apps to dessert, the food was really good. Portions aren't huge but well they are prepared and tasty. I won't review each one so see the pictures... Not shown in the pictures are cocktals and apps. The bartender made really good Old Fashioneds! The calamari was yummy and the lettuce wraps too. Since this is a lakeside restaurant there is need for sun shades and these were well regulated for customer comfort. As tables turned over and umbrellas were moved accordingly, there were brief times when we were exposed to glaring sun and the team quickly reconciled the situation. While we were made comfortable, the service staff had to duck under the sunshades to do their jobs... even while carrying food and dishes. A real show of the staff's dedication to providing a great customer experience. Many years ago, back in teh 1980's I worked in Westlake Village so knew about The Landing and Boccaccio's but never ate at either. So decaedes later I finally have the pleasure and glad that we experienced a special family occasion at The Landing.
