You don't go to The Landings for the food... you go for the ambiance! Nothing better than live music under a great sky! We did enjoy our food options--salad, tuna melt, turkey sandwich, chicken piccata. The drinks were good, also! Definitely worth checking out and staying until the sun sets! Reservations recommended.

Excellent staff and service. We were there when it opened so not very busy. Food options were promising, but flavors were less than expected. Just not what you'd want or expect for the higher $20per person price. Good, but needs to be better. Also the fries and sandwich bread wasn't crispy or toasted enough. So flavors bland and textures limp. Parking was minimal. There's a tiny 2hr lot for free, but I'm not sure where you'd park if the spots were taken. Inside and outside seating available. Umbrella shades outside. AC inside. Kid friendly. View of the planes were good.

If you have never been here for one of their concerts you need to go and try it. We have been a couple of times you need to make a reservation they fill up. We enjoy cocktails and dinner and a good time. The brussel sprouts are delicious and my husband and I will share one of the entrees. The service was very good people are friendly and food is very delicious.

My son wanted to watch planes take off and land, and we got to enjoy some tasty pub burgers out on the patio. Servers were attentive. Food was hot and fresh. Prices not surprising for location. We had a nice lunch at The Landings.

Google
This restaurant is our favorite go to lunch spot when traveling from San Diego to Los Angeles. The staff is awesome, and makes you feel special every time we go. They know our drink order when we walk in the door

Google
Not family friendly at all. Got dirty looks from all the patrons and the wait staff was initially rude regarding our children. However, the kitchen staff did agree to make a grilled cheese, which was redeeming. This was after I asked if they had a grilled cheese because it is on their online menu, but I was told no several times. My kids were satisfied with their food, but our food was just meh.

Google
The new owners have taken this restaurant and given it an incredible upgrade, and they aren't even finished yet. The hamburger i had was one of the best I've ever eaten. My wife went in for French fries but came out with sweet potato fries that were cooked to perfection. Can't wait to see what else they have to offer in the coming days.

I have been coming here for years. Alex has remembered my name and my drink and my meal everytime I come in even if it has been months passing of time because I work in several locations. I always make a point to bring myself and friends to this location and we are never disappointed in the food or the service. I know Alex directly from his service but I have also been helped by the rest of the staff and everyone is amazing and on point. I recommend this place to everyone. Thank you for the great food , atmosphere, and staff that is on point! Special shout out to Alex! Thank you so much. See you guys soon!

Yelp
Came with our friends, and while we thought the music and dancing was fun, the food wasn't anything too memorable. We ordered Chicken Piccata, Tuna Melt, Seared Ahi Salad, and a Roasted Turkey Sandwich. The Roasted Turkey sandwich wasn't any better than you could get at the local deli, but the salad was better and was fresh. If going with a group of people, I'd recommended to drop them off in front as most of the parking, except for a small lot, is down a small hill. The highlight of the meal was the service. Our server had great customer service and was attentive to us the whole evening.

Yelp
We've been to The Landings a few times for lunch. We were picking up a rental car (the Avis rental place there is fantastic) and decided to go for dinner. The Good: (1) The location is super fun - right next to the tarmac so you can see the planes load, unload, take off, and land. Two hour parking is available just steps from the restaurant. (2) The service is great. Casey was our server - we've had him before - and he is wonderful. He knows the menu and makes great recommendations. (3) The food is really good. They have a varied menu and everything we have tried is delicious. Tonight I had the Crab Cake appetizer (which comes with dinner salad) and my husband had the Southwest Chicken Salad. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The Bad: The "music." Fortunately when we went for lunch we never experienced their live "music." (I am putting music in quotes because at the ultra loud sound levels being played, one could not tell whether it was music or just loud noise. My Apple Watch clocked the volume at 95 decibels -- we were seated about halfway across the patio from the band. Employers are required by law to provide their employees hearing protection when they are exposed to 85+ decibels. The noise was like going to a bar or concert where one expects such torture. But my husband and I could barely talk over the "music." We finished our meal quickly to get out of that environment. Bottom Line: We will be back for the ambience, service, and food, but never when the band is playing.

Yelp
We stopped into The Landing Restaurant and Bar at The Palmer Albert while waiting for my daughter to arrive and had a lovely experience. I had two of my grandkids with me, and they were hungry--so we ordered sliders and fries to share. David was our waiter and he was absolutely phenomenal. He was kind, attentive, and made sure both kids got exactly what they needed. He even got iced teas to go for my daughter and me, which was such a thoughtful touch. Great service, great atmosphere, and a perfect little pause in our day. Thank you, David! We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I love the location, right beside the airport!! We loved Gainseville The Band they rocked it I love the brussel sprouts and our server, Shannon B, went about and beyond taking care of us. She truly added to an amazing evening

Yelp
Today is a great day!!! The tuna is officially back!! This was my go to munch for years and was taken off the menu much to my dismay. There was nothing to fill the hole this sandwich left in my life. Technically it's a melt now but you can customize. I missed you friend.

Yelp
This restaurant is attached to Carlsbad airport. Easy to park and has a good ambiance. The happy hour is ok, nothing super impressive and only 2$ off select drinks and entrees. Very friendly staff but the food leaves a little bit to be desired.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to have lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Drinks and food are great. Service can be somewhat slow l, but they do get busy. Sat outside and it was fun to see the planes take off.
google avatar

Shelley W.

Yelp
My grandson and I went for lunch last saturday. I had a gift card from the previous owners that I had forgotten to use. They didn't have to honor it but they did. The manager was very kind and we enjoyed a couple of excellent steak sandwiches with onion rings and some iced teas. Nice spacious patio that we enjoyed. I left a good tip for their kind consideration of the situation. I will become a regular again.

Yelp
Casual pub style eatery with a mom and pop feel that is literally feet from the tarmac at Palomar Airport in Carlsbad. Decent food that seemed to be mostly handcrafted. Somewhat novel location if you are an aviation fan and not at the airport for another reason. I tried the crabcake sandwich which was hearty, but didn't particularly have a lot of crab flavor. There are a few free two hour parking spots.
google avatar

Rhondie B.

Yelp
Probably won't be back because... of the location itself pkus the hike up the hill from the parking lot... wearing fancy shoes doesn't work with this scene. The outside and inside dining areas were much smaller than I had expected. I was there for Trivia Night for the first time and the staff couldn't keep up with the orders, I begged to get my order in for Happy Hour because she was too busy to take it in time. The food was alright... they ran out of the pretzels and the Nachos didnt have many toppings for a vegetarian. Having the planes land right next to the dining area was interesting with the plane smells and tempting of the sewer out next to us.

Yelp
I wish I could leave a better review, but I had a deeply concerning experience. I visited this restaurant recently, and while I can't say with certainty what caused it, I started experiencing severe food poisoning symptoms not long after eating here -- and it was the last meal I had that day. What really troubled me was the lack of cleanliness I noticed during my visit. The dining area felt a bit neglected, but what worried me most was when I got a look at the kitchen area, which did not appear hygienic. There seemed to be poor attention to basic cleanliness, and it made me uneasy even before I started feeling sick. Again, I can't confirm exactly where the food poisoning came from, but this was the last thing I ate before I became ill, and the state of the kitchen didn't inspire confidence.

Sylvia H.

Yelp
The outdoor dining area of The Landing is right next to American Airline gate so you can see the AA planes coming and going just in front of you which is kind of cool. Besides this unique aspect of this restaurant, the food is just mediocre - typical burgers and sandwiches. Nothing stands out. Service is attentive. I won't be back here again with my business clients in the future.

Leah J.

Yelp
A group of us went to breakfast today. The soap dispenser in women's restroom kept falling off the wall and when you pushed it no soap would come out. We let the staff know and when the next of us went in, the hostess said it was fixed and they just used it . Went in and same thing , it did not work . She then said oh yea it's been broken for a couple weeks. This is not ok as how do women staff, cooks, customers wash their hands after using bathroom. Recommended they get a soft soap until they can get it fixed. This has to be a code violation. Hope that's not why someone got food poisoning in the review below. The bartender who was covering the manager did not seem too concerned either

Yelp
The Landing in Carlsbad offers a relaxed beachside atmosphere with great food and views. I tried the PB Burger, and it was amazing--perfectly cooked, with the bold and unexpected combination of peanut butter and bacon adding a savory twist that worked incredibly well. It's definitely a must-try if you're looking for something unique yet delicious.

Yelp
My girlfriend, another couple and I decided to try this spot for the first time. It did not disappoint! Fun location next to the airport and the service was great. David was our waiter and was very personable and attentive. It makes the difference when the service shines. I enjoyed the crabcakes and my beverage was very tasty. My girlfriend's dish was also just as good. It was a good time had with my friends and loved ones. Thank you for the experience. We will be back since we're just down the way.

Yelp
Still accurate he owes one of his older cleaning companies money and it's been over a year. This was a small family business cleaning company that he didn't pay the full amount for their hard work. Place has rats too.
google avatar

Stephanie B.

Yelp
This place is okay. I've been a few times for Happy Hour or brunch and it's hit or miss. This visit we did brunch pretty early and they were out of a lot of things on the menu. I wanted a Chorizo breakfast burrito, but they told me they were out of Chorizo and Carnitas. Went with sausage instead and it was meh. My husband ordered the Southwest Chicken salad and he has the same response. The Bloody Mary was the best part of the visit. Service can be slow. They have live music sometimes. Pretty cool spot to bring littles so they can watch the planes take off and land.
google avatar

Dan D.

Yelp
Solid pub style restaurant with wide selection of food, good burgers, friendly servers, nice outdoor seating area, and live music a few nights of the week(seems Thurs-Sun). Only qualm was the view of the runway wasn't that good, but you still can see the planes after they take off.
google avatar

Chad D.

Yelp
We love The Landings. Easy parking, patio dining. Dog Friendly. Lots of live music. It's fun watching the private jets rolling by while enjoying a martini at the bar. Food is good quality and simple menu. Sandwiches, burgers fries. Very consistent and the service is always good. We've been going to The Landings for years.

Yelp
We haven't been here since the new owners took over. First off I really wanted a dark beer or a porter and I knew this place is owned by people who own a brewery and their website said porters. They have two wonderful dark beers in their brewery, but they had no dark beers in the restaurant. A boring selection. A very outdated website menu too. Food: We ordered the calamari and the Ahi stack. Ahi had no flavor and weird texture. .calamari seemed frozen. Bland. Mediocre at best with no flavor. Nothing at all special about the sandwich. It's a shame. This place HAD wonderful food. But new broom sweeps clean.. plenty of other places to go have good food and good beer. Very very disappointed as this place used to be amazing under the old ownership. So without good food and without the beer that we like, we won't be back.

Yelp
After having been closed for a few weeks, the restaurant is now reopened. The patio was quite full on a Wednesday at lunchtime. We got a Southwestern salad, a burger and two BLTs with avo and everything was delicious. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The patio is a great place on a lovely SoCal fall day.

Yelp
If you're going to be the only establishment at an airport be open during flight times! Landed at 4:50 on a Sunday on labor day weekend and not only did my husband and I try to go here least 12 others we're trying to go. They are also in a very busy corporate area and closed on Mondays. So much business lost. So disappointing.
google avatar

Yelp
Brought my young kids here for dinner during a night they had a band. Kids loved watching the planes and dancing to the amazing rock & roll band; however, I don't think we would ever eat here again. My broccoli didn't even seem cooked, bland food, cold fries. Disappointed for the price. Would only go back for drinks and the bands!

Yelp
Julia's service to our party of 26 was absolutely TOP NOTCH! Our CoEd motorcycle group picked The Landings for our monthly meet up and the location/ ambiance/ was EVERYTHING! We originally booked for 20, then bumped up the head count a week prior. Typically for a party of 6 or more- one check will be allowed. But, PLEASE communicate with your server prior and something could be worked out. We always emphasize with our bigger groups, BRING CASH! Julia was willing to work with us and split our bill 3 ways! On Sundays, a live band starts at 11am. It may have been gloomy, but, we had dry weather, nonetheless and great vibes. I enjoyed my spicy dry gin Bloody Mary. The All American plate was perfect portions! Home fries- potatoes we'll seasoned (although my shredded cheese was missing)- they were tender. And the sausages were huge links! I finished every bite! Also ordered a side of bacon which has 3 strips. Heat lamps provided. Small parking lot out front and curbside. Paid parking lot is a 5 minute walk away.

Yelp
Slow on service at times, refills slow coming, food was ok but greasy. Your choice to go

Yelp
Best French Dip! One of our favorite off the path hidden gems. Nestled away next to the terminal at Palomar airport. Unless you regularly fly to Mammoth, you would probably never stumble across it. My husband went to a work lunch here years ago, and we've been back a few times. As stated, the French Dip is amazing. I can't describe why exactly. There is no special added ingredient (other than the crispy onions), but it's just good. Top quality bread, meat, and cheese with a salty savory au jus. My husband usually gets the ahi salad and loves it. He is notably picky about his ahi. Today, we split a chicken ceaser salad. It was good, as expected. The seasoning on the chicken is delicious. In addition to chowing down on delicious grub, you are sitting next to the tarmac of the airport. Whether sitting inside or outside, you are teated to the taxiing, take offs, and landings of the jets and helicopters.

Yelp
Only 4 stars because Our server deserves it, he was new guy named Corey I believe and he knocked it out the park compared to the others. A gentlemen with longer hair and a hat helped a lot too but overall the service and band was amazing. Super cool location and honestly all the food was ... yeah not great. The Ruben was the only thing actually good and we got 60% of the menu in the group. If they actually really strive to update their food options and quality this would hands down be one of the cooler spots to go to in Carlsbad.
google avatar

Nancy C.

Yelp
Service was great by Casey! He was prompt and considerate, we really enjoyed him. Music was great, wings and pretzel were delicious but the tacos were just ok. Husband loved his Rueben! The host got us in on a last minute cancellation and I super appreciated it. We have a 1 year old and he did well. Cool ambience. Overall good experience. A bit of an older crowd.. Probably not the best place for a baby but I'm always chasing cool live music spots and it's worth a checkout!

Ray B.

Yelp
Had a great lunch (southwest salad) and drinks! Andrea was our bartender and she was AMAZING!
google avatar

Yelp
Update. They finally paid him after posting on different platforms about him not being paid. Thankful for people writing on their pages / sharing for me to help get my husband paid. Still don't plan to support them. Hope everyone else gets paid!

Yelp
Worst Lobster Roll ever. Most lobster rolls I've eaten have been filled with pieces of whole lobster meat from tails or claws served on a buttered bun. The roll I got yesterday at The Landing had no recognizable lobster meat at all, but rather a mix of unidentifiable something that seemed to have come through a grinder, a mix of stringy substance where I could not tell if it contained any lobster meat, either real or fake., The bun was dry with no hint of butter. Defiantly not worth $27. I suggest the chef check out the Lobster rolls at Lobster West in Encinitas or the Green Dragon Tavern in Carlsbad to see what a good lobster roll should look and taste like. On the other hand, the onion rings were delicious.
google avatar

Catherine C.

Yelp
Atrocious service. The venue is really nice, the band was great. It appeared that they were woefully understaffed. Our waiter forgot about us almost immediately when we got there. The place was packed and I think they only had two servers. My food came a full 15 minutes after everybody at my table had finished eating. And nobody seemed to care. Multiple times the wrong items were brought to our table. And our waiter said that my order just never got made. So it seemed like they might be understaffed in the kitchen as well.
google avatar

Nick N.

Yelp
Service good ... friendly. Food was terrible ... French fries and Onion rings were absolutely terrible. Both the fries and rings were brought dark brown and not even warm. Dark fries and rings demonstrate that the frying oil isn't changed periodically. Both the wife and self walked out with upset stomaches. Quality control was extremely neglectful. My wife commented to me, "If this was our first date, it would have been our last date."
google avatar

Tyler M.

Yelp
Great beer, food, and VIEW. - Burgeon Hazy Beer - hospitality was great, comfortable seating, large bar with many alcoholic and non alcoholic drink options - large menu with lots of great sandwich options from avocado bacon cheeseburger (abc), siracha chicken melt, bbq bacon burger and more!

Yelp
I've been to The Landings many times over the years. (Back in the late 90s, there was just a breakfast shack on the runway). It's a super fun spot on Friday and Saturday nights with live local bands. Highly recommend reservations for Fri/Sat, or get there no later than 4 for a table. Even when it looks empty at 4 on Fri/Sat, most all tables have been reserved for 5 o'clock seating....especially on nights with the most populate bands. Today was the first time I've been on a Wednesday. There was a live acoustic artist playing but it was almost completely empty the whole time we were there. We felt like we had a private concert with our own private server. The happy hour battered fish taco was very tasty. HH wine was $2 off for house selection. Horacio is THE BEST server!!! We've had him many times and even when it's packed on Fri/Sat, he is spectacular. Always attentive and friendly, Horacio works very hard to make sure every guest is happy. He happily splits checks, using point of sale for every guest in the party....this is a huge perk when dining with a big group. I've seen him work up a sweat as he hustles around lighting patio heaters, moving umbrellas, taking orders and bringing out food/drinks. Horacio is definitely 5 star server. I took off a star because the overall quality of food has not been quite as good since the new owners took over a few years ago. Food is still good but not spectacular. The views are great...have seen some really lovely sunsets here and it's always cool to see the planes takeoff and land. Easy/free parking either right in front or a short walk away in the big open lot. Pro tip, when it's crowded and the 2 stall bathroom has a line, go into the terminal (located right next to the patio) and use the bathrooms there....there are several stalls and it's always super clean and empty!
google avatar

Jay B.

Yelp
Man, I was not disappointed. I love coming here. It's always so fun. They have live bands after 6pm. The food has always been fresh. Today I had the crab cake sandwich and the pretzel appetizer. The server Julia was nice and kept refilling our waters.

Dennis B.

Yelp
Maybe a bad day but possibly the worse Sunday Brunch in the area. Live music was great. Started with a 10-15min wait even though had reservations but staff seemed inefficient and clueless. Mimosa and French dip were ok. Soft drink was forgotten then served after the meal but still charged. "Home fries" served with eggs Benedict are simply the standard fries they have with their burgers and sandwiches. Furniture is cheap and old. One man's chair collapsed underneath him. No staff showed up to help him. They simply took the broken chair away. The man ended up leaving.

Yelp
Taco Tuesday was amazing at The Landings at Carlsbad. The view of jets, helicopters and private planes taking off and landing in close sight is a must for anyone staying near the Palomar private airstrip. Happy hour drinks and food are offered until 6:00pm. The fried calamari appetizer and house salad were fresh and delicious. The main course of grilled fish tacos seasoned and covered with cilantro was very good. The Dopplerdacker Doppleback was a smooth dark creamy beer, and on my favorite list. Jacquie provided excellent service on the outside patio overlooking the runway. Great meal watching the sunset and a bonus which included the aviation action.

Mark A.

Yelp
Food was sub par as well as having a very inattentive server which made our experience less than favorable. Not to mention that the restroom was badly taped of with blue painters tape, not very clean and in need of repair. Really disappointed.
google avatar

Mads S.

Yelp
Fantastic service from Horacio, nostalgic live music, delicious food, and wonderful happy hour deals on drinks and appetizers. HH fish tacos get a huge thumbs up from me. They were hot, fresh, zesty, and crunchy - and I'm usually picky about fish! They are PACKED Friday-Saturday for live music so reservations are highly recommended. I have been turned away before with a party of 2 even early at 3-4pm on a busy weekend. Plan ahead! On a less crowded day like today (Wednesday), it's very quiet and still has live music. House cab on HH was great and you can't go wrong with Carlsbad weather and a view of the landing strip.

Yelp
They were fairly busy when we decided to go for brunch, but since we had a reservation, we were seated right away. They said they were out of menus (?!), so our party of 5 had to share one, which was a little annoying. The waitress was super sweet but not attentive. We placed our order and waited forever before the food came. When it came, everything was ice cold. My friend ordered an avocado omelet that came with no avocado (luckily I had avocado in my sandwich and I'm not a fan so I pulled it off and gave it to her). We had to ask more than one person for silverware, since there wasn't any on the table, and when it finally came, several pairs were not clean and had food crusted on them. Drinks were never refilled (and we never did see our waitress to request it). The food was decent, despite being cold, and the live music was nice. All in all, due to this experience, I likely won't be back.
google avatar

Peter I.

Yelp
I love this spot! Great food, big open patio and the best service. Right at Palomar airport so you see and hear the planes come and go. I've had and love: Happy hour! Fish tacos Sweet potato fries Mahi mahi sandwich Patty Melt Burger Wine are decent and good selection of beer. Eat, drink and pick out your new Gulfstream!!

Yelp
2.5 Stars... they were having Trivia night inside and it was so loud we literally couldn't have a conversation. We sat at the bar, thinking it would be better than getting blasted out by the Trivia speakers and that wasn't the case. It was still too loud. We ordered the Filet and it was ok. Nothing exceptional however the price reflected that and I knew going into it, it wasn't going to be exceptional. We also ordered the Salmon, took a few bites and pushed it away, not good at all. Completely Overcooked! The sprouts were good though. All in all I dropped $125 for some good sprouts.. Living local right on the coast I always want this place to "be better" and it just isn't. Peace... Frankie G.

Yelp
This is a fun place with live music. When the live music doesn't show it is a meh restaurant near the Carlsbad airport. It is not a beach side location as stated in the intro.

Joan C.

Yelp
This place has been a go to forever but recently the service has been awful. Took over 20 minutes to get a drink and the waitress literally just walked by our table multiple times. It wasn't until we walked up to the bar and ordered drinks and then went to a different server to ask if we should order food at the bar, that we finally got service from that individual. It's gone so downhill. I hope things change - will try again. Maybe because of new ownership??

None O.

Yelp
My husband and I used to go here a lot for dinner and dancing. Recently received an email from The Landings with their future bands and now they want you to make dinner reservations and spend $30 MINIMUM on drinks and food PER PERSON. We have done dinners; however we occasionally used to go just for appetizers and drinks. That is not $60 and to be honest this place isn't worth spending $60 for food. Last time we went here , we waited forever for a waitress. Not only was the food was bland, we never got refills on drinks either. Used to love this place but NO MORE. Whatever happened to this place is a shame.

Yelp
Fun place on a Friday night. Dinner and music you can't go wrong except when they leave the doors open and it is cold outside and coming inside. Other than the weather which kept us from eating on the patio, even though they did have lots of heaters, it was just to cold. My friends had a Caesar salad and the other had a steak dinner. Both said they were good. I had a bloody mary, three street tacos and coffee (total $18.00). I enjoyed my meal. Only complaint is that the tacos did not come with any salsa and I had to find a different server to get me some, which should have come with the meal. The server was very nice but after about half way through the meal it really got busy and his attention was not on us. Later on I also had to go to the bar to get my second cup of coffee. After dinner we headed outside to join friends and dance to the Totally 80's band. They were great. I have been here a couple of times when I am visiting and the music is always good. This was my first time having a meal. This is a pet peeve of mine and I don't understand why women can be such pigs. I had to tell the hostess that the bathroom needed cleaning. Normally the score would drop but I am being very understanding because of the lack of employees and the place is jumpin. I will be back in the summer when I go back home to visit. this visit 1-20-23

Yelp
It's good for what it is... my 4yo loves it because the planes and helicopters fly around. Also lots of area for them to run around an play. We don't usually go when it's busy but have been when there's a band and it was fun. Not really our vibe anymore. Food is decent like diner style. Have good beers and have a full bar... always a plus.

Yelp
Called to enquirer about booking an event and was told " sorry brother, I'm too busy to talk to you an American flight just landed" So why pick up the phone @ brother"? What an idiot..... Never get a second chance to make a first impression - bye bye business
