"Why book? This 2022-opened Chicago FiDi hotel features touches of luxury and a clubhouse feel throughout, thanks to intimate environs, detailed design, and welcoming hospitality. Set the scene This hotel, comprising three floors of a historically notable building (the last one designed by acclaimed Chicago architect Daniel Burnham), serves as a tranquil escape from downtown Chicago. On weekends you’ll see couples and creatives checking in for the hotel’s elevated amenities and Art-Deco allure. During the week, plenty of executive teams retreat here between meetings (or host them here—the hotel holds 7,500 square feet of event space). The backstory A member of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, The LaSalle was developed by an affiliate of The Prime Group, Inc., a real estate development and investment company founded in 1982 by Michael W. Reschke. The LaSalle was born when Reschke realized an unmet demand from business travelers seeking a luxury FiDi stay (without the lengthy cab ride from other parts of the city). The rooms Designed by DiLeonardo International and Chipman Design Architecture, the hotel’s 232 luxury suites and rooms take inspiration from the building’s historic past, while reflecting sophisticated, modern-day touches. Gold finishes, jewel-toned furnishings, and classic stone elements meet to create a sleek, lounge-worthy space. A space that’s easy to linger in, too, thanks to Simmons Beautyrest Black beds, Lavazza espresso machines, and plush robes and slippers. For extra roomy accommodations, consider the Presidential Suite: 1,684 square feet comprising a dining room, private study, designer kitchen, and master bath (with its porcelain soaking tub). Food and drink Grill on 21 serves as the hotel’s main gathering spot, offering contemporary steakhouse fare in a welcoming space. It’s one of the busiest rooms in the neighborhood during lunch hours, when the area’s executives and attorneys come for mid-day breaks of wedge salads and steak frites. Come evening, start with a drink at the bar (popular in its own right for an impressive libations list). Then, settle in at a booth for creative, comforting plates (e.g. hearth-roasted carrot wellington; lobster pot pie), plus views of the open kitchen. The spa There’s no onsite spa, but the property has partnered with LUXXE | Honor and Leaf Spa to offer curated classes and in-room experiences. Guests can also check out the 24-hour fitness center, outfitted with Technogym and Peloton bikes. The neighborhood/area Situated in the heart of the Financial District, the property is close to some of the city’s best-known buildings (Willis Tower, The Chicago Board of Trade, Federal Reserve), while also near the lively Theatre District and Art Institute. During your stay, venture into the neighborhood for a history lesson with stops at the Rookery Building or Central Standard Building (where railroad officials met in 1883 to create America’s four current time zones). The service Friendly, relaxed, and accommodating. Ask them about their courtesy car, offering pick-up and drop-off services within short distances from the hotel.Anything left to mention? Keep an eye on the hotel’s packages throughout the year, including The LaSalle Love Letters (with Champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and a framed Love Story article) or the VIP Foodie Package (featuring priority access to weekend reservations at Michelin-starred Esme)." - Nicole Schnitzler

This is a great quiet hotel with well appointed rooms and beautiful decor. Rooms had good space and a good bathroom with separate water closet and walk in shower. Comfortable bed and linens plus a very large flat screen tv. Lobby bar is very nice and the grab and go coffee and bites at breakfast are perfect. I loved the fact the street was very quiet when getting picked up and dropped off. Hotel has a courtesy car that will drive you within 2 miles. Nice touch.

Google
Top tier! The best way to describe our stay! It started with the doorman and valet they made you feel so welcome and like family. The hotel was stunning and elegant, along with the decor. Very upscale, the staff was very pleasant as well. The room was very comfortable and nice as well. We also had room service breakfast which was very good. Overall, one of the best stays I’ve had in Chicago I would definitely stay in the future and highly recommend. We felt very safe, and later found out it was pretty popular area as we saw a lot of people taking pictures in front of the Chicago trade center

Google
Beautiful, relatively new hotel with gorgeous, comfortable, and spacious rooms, nice bathrooms, excellent lighting (pet peeve with London House, where I have typically stayed, is how dark the rooms are and how impossible it is to work in them), and kind staff. The color scheme is elegant, the bar has great drinks. Only surprise was no robes in the room and location isn’t the most exciting. It’s also pricey for a four star hotel. But overall a lovely stay.

Google
I was so fortunate to find a hotel with such a great location, well kept and incredible service! We’ve tried a few hotels in this area while moving our daughter in and out of college. Many have a great location, good bones but a poorly kept hotel. Very few have the service, luxury and incredible rooms like LaSalle. The beds, the rooms, the bathrooms were all luxurious and renovated and the 21st floor lobby bar felt like such a private space with incredible service. The comfort and luxury at LaSalle is so welcoming after a day of exploring Chicago but one of our favorite parts was the friendly smile and familiar face of Mr. Stan greeting us throughout our stay! He takes note of his guests and pays attention to detail! This hotel was a splurge for us but didn’t disappoint. I hope to be back soon!

Google
Highly recommend this hotel - it has been my go to Chicago hotel since it opened. Hotel rooms are spacious, clean, new, and vibey. Go see the best bartender in Chicago, Nate, in the lobby bar/restaurant. Great drinks and the BEST service of any bartender in the Windy City! Cheers!

Google
Overall I enjoyed my stay at the La Salle. The hotel is quiet, comfortable, and well staffed with security. The staff all have a positive attitude and were highly accommodating (including when I had a last-minute printing request for work). Service at The Grill on 21 was fast, and both the food and drinks were well prepared. The rooms and public spaces feel luxurious with expensive finishes, detailed millwork, etc. Areas for improvement: I relied a lot on room service and there were several minor screw-ups with my order (e.g., missing a beverage, forgot a substitution, etc.). Once is understandable, but for a hotel of this caliber they need to work on getting the orders right. Presentation also was lacking: e.g., I ordered a sparkling wine and it came warm and loosely wrapped in crumpled Saran wrap. (Again, not being a snob, and not a big deal in the scheme of things, but at $25+ per glass details matter and other hotels do a better job.) The HVAC system also was loud and temperamental, and it was hard to figure out what light switches controlled what in the room. Making some of these minor fixes will improve the customer experience.

Google
This hotel feels very upscale for the price - very pleased. The food and beverage director, Jose Fitzpatrick, was a gem!! So nice and personable, really made us feel welcome. We enjoyed the live Jazz in the lounge on Friday and Saturday and the bar staff were fast and friendly. Rooms are large and very comfortable. Will definitely stay here again!

Wonderful place to stay in Chicago. Great staff, clean and location is fantastic. Definitely will stay there again. Be sure to check out the in house restaurant and jazz nights on Friday/Saturdays. They offer a free car shuttle anywhere up to 2 miles radius from hotel too. Nice touch!

Yelp
I had an amazing stay at this hotel! I've lived in Chicago since 2018 and worked near this area before the pandemic , but somehow I never noticed the hotel until recently--turns out it's relatively new! I discovered this place because I had a free night through my Marriott rewards app that was expiring in a couple of days and I decided to take a weekend to "Treat Yo' Self" (inspired by Parks and Rec's Donna and Tom). The check-in is on the 21st floor, which was a bit unusual, and my room wasn't quite ready, but the staff went above and beyond. They even offered a free drink while I waited at the bar--an unexpected treat! Once settled, I explored the Loop, grabbed some snacks and drinks (the mini bar prices are ridiculous in my opinion), and enjoyed room service with Steak Frites and College Football--a perfect way to unwind! From the friendly staff to the stylish room, the tasty food and drinks, this hotel exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended!

Yelp
LaSalle is a clean, modern, and vibey hotel. I loved how clean the hotel was and it smelled great at all times. It didn't feel like an old building. The hotel is located on the other side of the J.W.Marriott. Once you enter the lobby head to the right side and head to the 21st floor to check-in to your room. The lobby has a restuarant and bar- at the time I was checking in there was a live band and the crowd was having a great time. Housekeeping comes by everyday unless the privacy sign is up and if you miss them you can contact the front desk to request a later time. I highly recommend staying here. The staff is very helpful and very kind. I appreciated their extra efforts to accomodate my requests. I asked for extra towels on my Marriott app and within 20-30 minutes they were delivered. I also had gotten food delivered past hours and the front desk easily buzzed up the delivery person to my room which was great. Their room service does close early and was a bit hard to get ahold of. But the staff definitely did their best to help out.

Yelp
Beautiful and clean hotel in a great location, although sleepy on weekends in the are given it's the financial area of Chicago. The lobby and bar are gorgeous and the decor is stunning. We lucked out and landed a view of the Willis tower. Also appreciate the small, but useful gym. The only thing that was a slight disappointment was the WiFi. I could not for the life of me keep a connection and my personal data had bad service as well. Not a big deal. Would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Stayed here for the first time after my flight was delayed overnight in Chicago. I arrived without a reservation but was quickly gievn an upgraded room with no issues. The room was really nice. It was clean, modern and comfortable. The staff is really nice and the lounge has jazz some evenings. There are many sister properties nearby to explore as well. I will add this hotel to my list of hotels when visiting home.

Yelp
This hotel is not what it claims to be. The interior is nice, but the service is absolutely terrible. I used the mobile app to check-in, unpacked my bags, slept in the hotel room with my spouse, just for the front desk to say that we never checked-in. As a reminder, we used the company car the night before to go to TAO. My spouse and I were isolated and made to feel that we didn't belong. We did not receive the same amount of care or attention as the non-black customers. We had to put 2 cards on file and to top it off, I paid $80 a night just for my lovely 2024 Audi to be sitting out in the snow.... WOW (after I asked for it to be put away for the night). It was my birthday as well, so overall just very disappointing and shocking. I am a Marriott member, so I wish I would have just stayed at the Aloft, as I have never had a problem with poor service. To the La Salle, you should not be in the South Loop of Chicago if you can handle diversity amongst customers. To the readers and young professionals looking for a nice stay in Chicago, this is not the place. I'd rather stay at the in-laws...

Yelp
Entering the hotel we were a bit confused on the check-in process but security was very helpful with directing us where we needed to be as well as with parking garage information. I appreciate the extra security of the hotel as you will need a key card to access the elevators and/or move throughout the hotel. There was a little hike for us to get to our room, but who doesn't love forced exercise, right?! lol. The rooms were exquisite, with some available(for purchase) snacks and wine in the little bar area and the shower was amazing. One of my favorite personal touches was that they have a complimentary little box in the bathroom with those essential items we often forget(i.e., shower cap, toothbrush, etc), a nice robe, and slippers.

Yelp
I was in Chicago for work and booked a night at the LaSalle weeks in advance. On the evening of my stay, I called to confirm that it would be okay to check in late as I had a work dinner. They confirmed it would be fine. When I arrived to check in, they told me they had overbooked the hotel and were sending me to a different hotel across town. The second hotel was nowhere near the train to the airport, which was the reason I had booked the LaSalle in the first place. The disorganization and disrespect displayed by this hotel are unreal. Avoid at all costs.

Yelp
Hotel is one to check out. Very upscale and swanky vibe. The place is a smaller hotel but has all the things you need. Only flaws were from the room. -the room I rented had 1 sink rather than 2 even though pictures showed 2. -Almost no toiletries were provided or were nearly empty which was very strange. - Mini bar was empty even though I was expecting a full stocked fridge. - The window view was terrible Overall happy with the stay for 1 night.

Yelp
The hotel is amazing and really upscale. However the customer service needs some adjustment. Specifically the night dest manager provided myself and three partners with the most negative interaction I've experienced at Marriott and I have 70 night this year already. He was rude, unhelpful, dismissive and disrespectful. He argued, spoke over us and raised his voice so he could talk over us. This gentleman needs to be trained in customer service. Our bill was incorrect and now we can't fix it easily.

Yelp
Where has this hotel been all my life? Brand new as of June 2022, this place hits all the marks that many hotels (including a lot of the other Marriotts and former Starwood brands) miss. In fact, if I come back to Chicago and can't get a room here due to them being sold out or increases above my budget, I'll be very sad. Why? First of all, the staff. You enter on the ground level to be greeted by staff, who then show you to the elevator that takes you up to the lobby on the 21st floor. The level of service I received when checking in has been unparalleled. On my way to the hotel, I ordered Uber eats and messaged the front desk staff to let them know. They were happy to hold my order for me. I was told in the Uber eats app it had arrived. When I arrived at the hotel, unfortunately the wrong order was waiting for me. This of course was the fault of the restaurant or Uber eats driver, not the fault of the hotel but still, the gentleman checking me in didn't skip a beat and offered to comp me dinner at the restaurant. It was such a genuine gesture that I by no means expected and could not have appreciated more. Additionally, I booked a superior king and was upgraded to a deluxe king, which was a wonderful start. That gentleman at the front desk is Paul and he deserves the utmost gratitude and acknowledgment on his amazing level of service. Next, the meal I enjoyed was right before they closed the kitchen at 11pm and I didn't feel rushed or anything. Again, the bar staff was impeccable and the woman helping me didn't rush me at all and gave me suggestions on what to order. I ended up getting a medium rare 4oz wagyu (very reasonably priced for $27) and it came with sauce and mushrooms. The food was absolutely delicious and the wagyu was very tender. Lastly, the room itself is incredible. They have so many lights (and light switches!) and, believe it or not, an overhead chandelier!! In addition, my room had water bottles, a robe, the most comfortable sheets, and a full toiletry kit. The room is luxurious without feeling gaudy. The shower had a very convenient handheld that immediately produced hot water and had a wonderful mist like I've never seen before at another hotel. They also have a theme with the hourglasses as Paul explained to me. The look of the hotel lobby, hallways, rooms is so luxurious... honestly it didn't look it from the outside at night on a rainy night but boy does the decor surprise you when you walk in. The decor and staff will make you feel like royalty here and you'll never want to leave.

Carolee K.

Yelp
Lovely hotel nestled in great location. Short walk to Union station and the CTA has stop around corner. Walkable to many things like the Willis Tower and magnificent mile. Elegant in its furnishings.

Yelp
I couldn't decide between the LaSalle or Blackstone. I wish I had chosen Blackstone. After checking out, I saw a $40 charge on my room. I didn't eat in the restaurant and didn't take anything from the minibar (what do I look like, a billionaire?!). I called to inquire what it was; the receptionist didn't know and said she would call me back. She did and informed me I took something from the minibar. Again, what do you think I am, a billionaire? No, I did not. She told me they would take it off my bill. They did not. I had to dispute it on my credit card. Next time: Blackstone!

Yelp
I love spending time in my city as if I'm a tourist. So staying at the LaSalle for a principals conference was top tier. I was surprised that the hotel is tucked in the Loop steps away from the stock exchange. The cute lobby was on the 21st floor. The sophisticated elevator system was a techy bonus. The hotels ambiance was immaculate. The staff accommodated my party with friendly service and delightful cuisine.

Yelp
I visited for a wedding recently and the wedding party stayed at this hotel. The hotel lobby is on the 21st floor and the folks when you first walk in don't tell you that so I had to ask where the lobby was. A nice thing, they offer complimentary yoga in the morning for guests... Upon checking in, even with a confirmation number, the receptionist told me that they didn't have the room I had reserved for available (a room with two queens). I didn't ask for an early check in and in fact was an hour and a half past the check in time. They told me that they could give me a king size room for the night and then switch to a two queen room. It wasn't going to work because I was in the wedding and needed to be up and moving early the next day. I felt as if it were my only option because I was pressed for time for the rehearsal dinner that evening. The other option that I was presented with was to hang out at the bar until the room I reserved was available. Also could t do that because I was supposed to be at the rehearsal dinner in an hour. While we were talking a room somehow opened up that I had reserved. They gave me two cards for two glasses of Prosecco for my inconvenience which was nice. I (I guess luckily) got the room and began getting ready for the rehearsal dinner. When it came time for transportation to the dinner, my friend who was the groom made arrangements for his grandmother to be taken by the hotel car service to the venue. His grandmother is in a wheelchair (not the bulky kind) and he told them when he made the reservation that it needed to accommodate that. When it came time to go, the chauffeur IMMEDIATELY said to my friend "no I'm not taking her" about my friend's grandmother in a wheelchair. I felt that was EXTREMELY unprofessional and downright rude to say. Insane such a hotel who prides themselves on luxury and accommodation to have someone on staff to act that way. Upon returning to the hotel, the wedding party went to the bar. My friends also let them know months in advance that the plan was to return to the hotel bar after the rehearsal. They were extremely understaffed and the staff was so stressed out and unpleasant from the get go. I started a tab and then closed it to take my friend to her room. I returned to continue the tab and hang out with everyone and the bartender Nate was extremely rude and unprofessional. As soon as he saw me, he called me out in front of the entire group of people complaining that I didn't tip him enough. He made such a big deal that it made me extremely upset when I'm already paying a lot of money to stay and spending money at the hotel bar itself. I work in the service industry (also as a bartender) and I would never expect someone to tip me let alone call someone out so rudely for what they did tip. It was EXTREMELY unprofessional and absolutely childish to throw such a fit. He should have asked me if I was satisfied and what could have been done to ensure that instead of act like a child and yell at me. I still can't believe that happened. Nate is not professional and it's super embarrassing for him to act like that to guests. I hope that he hasn't acted like that before and I'm the only one for the sake of his career and dignity, as well as the hotel. I'm still in shock I was treated like that -- I already felt as if they didn't want me there but to demand whatever amount of for a tip is unheard of. Talk shit about me in the back like a normal service industry professional would. I really hope that action was taken on that part. I spoke with Auguste on how mistreated and unprofessional her staffs service was. She seemed to care a little but it just really left a terrible taste for the hotel. When I arrived back at the hotel bar after the wedding, Nate was working and I didn't want to stay because of it. I stayed for a while because of my friends there and his attitude had seemed to change. When I went to my room that evening there was an apology letter from the hotel, macaroons, and sparkling water. Sucks that we had such a terrible experience at a hotel that is named the best new hotel in Chicago (2023). I think whoever is in charge of naming places "the best" should reconsider. I still feel as if they didn't make things right but at this point, I'm not sure what could... they even charged my bank account $50 twice for something I didn't authorize. This hotel is a joke.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful hotel with beautiful rooms. Received a complimentary upgrade for being a Bonvoy member. Classy decor for the holidays. The shower in the room was an experience in the best way possible. Super clean property. Loved it.

Yelp
The LaSalle Hotel provided amazing accommodations for our bachelorette party weekend. From the very start, the valet and bellhop staff were so helpful. They met me at my car with an umbrella and a luggage cart. The bellhop even walked us within the building to the Florentine to dinner so we wouldn't have to go outside. We got to enjoy the free yoga class on Saturday morning, which was a nice perk that we didn't see on the site ahead of time. The hotel also applied my special requests in getting all our rooms as close together as possible. The rooms were very large, comfortable, and also decorated very cute with a mini bar cabinet area even. All the others at the staff level was extremely helpful and friendly whenever we ran into them in the building. The hotel itself was clearly new and freshly decorated and painted, but the decor selected had a modern art deco vibe to it. The hotel was centrally located to all activities that we had planned for the weekend, so everything was walkable within a half mile. Overall we had a lovely experience at the hotel. I would highly recommend it for future stays. My only criticism is that we wanted to book one of the party rooms for our event, but the event planner was not very responsive, even when I emailed and called repeatedly with questions, so we had to go next door to the JW Marriott for the Florentine for their party room instead.

Yelp
Gorgeous hotel! Marble floors and countertops in the bathroom makes it feel so luxurious. The only thing I didn't like and wasn't aware of is the parking is down the street. But only used it to get to the hotel when arriving and leaving for the airport. The entrance is slightly confusing as to where it is located. It was very quiet and the bar/restaurant seemed good due to its busyness but didn't try it out. Stayed for 5 days and will definitely return!

Yelp
Beautiful property ruined by subpar customer service. Because we had a mildly discounted room, we were told by Nuri that we couldn't have a room with a view. I had a discount form from my son on my phone and had to email to Nuri. She made us stay in the lobby until she received the email which took about 20-25 minutes instead of allowing us to go to our room and graciously informing when she received it. The (white) gentleman next to us had the same form on his phone. He asked for a room with a view. It was "no problem". He and his family were also allowed to go to their room while the young lady waited on the email since "the number she needed was on the form". Meanwhile, we waited and observed how others were treated in comparison to our treatment. My son and daughter both work for Marriott and have for years. We have NEVER been penalized for using the family discount until now.We won't be staying here again. It's too bad because it's a gorgeous property.

Yelp
Wonderful staff, unique smaller hotel with great attention to detail! Definitely willing to stay again when visiting Chicago. Love that it's part of the Marriott group too.
