The name says it all. Room was clean but very tired. Only 1 towel for 2 people No bathmat . Shower blocked. Pillows the most awful ones i have ever experienced. I guess you get what you pay for.

We stayed at the hostel for 4 nights and had a great time. The two Irish managers know their way around town. The hostel feels homely as it is not a party place and has limited beds. The dorm was clean and they offered free towels. I can only recommend the place. One of the best hostels I've stayed in in New Zealand. Also loved the dog, Molly and the great conversations with every one.

I needed to change the time I was checking in to the place, and the manager was very unhelpful. Wouldn’t even give me a call to talk about it and emailed to say that no changes can be done. Unhappy with the lack of flexibility.

The most friendly, homely hostel ever! I lived here for several months in 2021 and will always return when I am in Queenstown - the vibe, people, and cute quirky building made it immediately feel like home. It’s also got great facilities, comfy beds and free laundry, lovely communal spaces and front garden for drinks, bbqs, sunbathing, beaut views of the gondola! I’ve made lifelong friends and memories at TLR - it’s a really special place and I 100% recommend for anyone wanting to meet people in Queenstown and live in more of a home than a hostel 💗

My stay here was awesome, the hostel is located just on the outskirts of the downtown and it has a much more relaxed vibe. One of the owners also has a dog which is usually hanging out in the commons area which was really cool. The kitchen and common area were great - plenty of movies. The beds were very comfortable and the showers/bathrooms were always clean. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Well, this place is hard to describe. To start, when I arrived, for sure I had the worst welcome at all of my hostels experiences ever! The receptionist was in a very bad mood and was rude when I asked about the breakfest and wifi, she said that she would tell me everything in the right time. And then she was around sending angry glances at everyone and at me, making me feel unconfortable. |The room was confortable, not many space but enough, the bed was good and the two pillows are a great thing, they also offer free towel, so that's a positive thing either. The upstairs bathrooms are tiny, but the shower is really good with amazing hot water, I got very good showers there. The negative point about bathrooms is that is just two bathrooms to serve 4 rooms (about 18 people). |Kitchen average, but small. Good TV lounge with lots of DVDs. Nice fireplace. Free computer with internet access. Free WiFi, and I think it is unlimited cause I had no problems with it. |The other guests are very friendly and nice people, that was very good, and as this hostel is so small, you can know more the people and always talk to someone in the common areas. We feel like we are with friends. The other receptionist, a younger and dark haired girl, she is indeed very nice, friendly and totally the opposite of the grumpy one. |Oh, and they offer breakfast too, but only if the kitchen is not a mess by the morning, this kinda force people to wash and put away their own mess. That's a good idea but can be unfair with the people who clean after eating, like me. In the first day I did not have breakfast because of others.|So, I would return to this place, but please grumpy receptionist, try to be kind with people, we are choosing your place amongst a lot of other hostels in Queenstown.

I stayed at the Last Resort for 2 months from April to June 2021 (which were originally supposed to be 4 weeks). The house is homely, the people there feel like family and the overall vibe is just great (the manager ensures this!!) Recommend 1000% !! Definitely a must stay when in Queenstown if you’re looking for new friends. Movie nights every night and fun outings. Def more a family than your roommates. Much love and I’ll be back for sure ❤️

Great hostel more like a shared house. Perfect for backpackers living and working in queenstown. I’m a waitress and finish work at 10.30/11pm, there’s always people up when I get home, the kitchen doesn’t shut and everyone is a really social group. If you want more of a homely vibe and to meet other long term stayers then this is the place 😊
