We came here on a recommendation from a lady at the military museum in the castle and we are so glad we did! The best food we had all week and very good service too. We had halloumi fries, broccoli and green beans with Parmesan, chunky fried fish as a three dishes deal (£26) plus chicken kebabs. Really great beers too

Absolutely amazing, would definitely recommend. The food is a bit pricey, but the portion size and flavour is absolutely worth it. The staff were lovely and it was an overall amazing experience. I had the ruby curry naan and it was amazing.

I visited this restaurant in the latter stages of November 2024 during a day trip to Carlisle, and the excitement I had beforehand was met by pure excellence in every regard. The waitresses were remarkably friendly and were ready to have a chat with me about my visit to Carlisle. In terms of food, the menu is quite large, and I felt as though I was spoilt for choice as a result, but I ended up ordering a buttermilk chicken burger with sweet potato fries, and it was as scrumptious as ever. I must also state that the restaurant has a peaceful atmosphere and a really interesting interior design, especially with the zebra head. If you are ever in Carlisle, I strongly recommend that you visit this establishment.. You won't be disappointed

I ordered a steak well done. It came medium rare. I sent it back, only for it to reappear still not well done and for the fries that accompanied the steak to be absolutely inedible as they had been completely doused in salt. So a whole meal wasted. For the staff to do this deliberately to a meal, when there was no reason to, I wasn’t nasty, I very politely said my steak was not cooked well done enough for me. I think this shows what kind of people you are dealing with when the staff can do this. It was a complete let down and so disappointing as the last time we visited we couldn’t fault the place. We would have said this was our go to place whilst in Carlisle, but sadly now, we would never return.

As a cask ale drinker I was bitterly disappointed with the selection and the quality of the ale available. Why this is in the Good Beer Guide, heaven knows
