The Late Birds Lisbon

Had a great five-night stay here. The location is on a quiet side street yet close to many great restaurants and bars. The staff are wonderful - super communicative and helpful. I really enjoyed getting to know them (while they made some delicious cocktails). Loved the breakfast each morning. Booked a day trip to Sintra through the hotel and it was excellent - enjoyed getting to travel with some of the other guests and our guide was lovely. The hotel is definitely quieter in November, so the sunset tour didn’t happen, which was a bit of a bummer. Would have liked more social opportunities to meet the other guests. My room was very spacious and comfortable. I think they could ditch the iMacs and replace with actual TVs, plus add full length mirrors. If you want a beautiful hotel with queer-friendly vibes, definitely book a stay here.

I was warmly greeted at the airport with a seamless transfer and felt the hospitality from the very first moment. Once I got to the resort, check-in was smooth, friendly, and personal — setting the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable visit.||The staff went above and beyond to make me feel completely at home. Carlos, our gracious host, along with Philippe, Ricardo, Ryan, and the rest of the amazing team, created such a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Their genuine warmth and attention to detail made my experience that much more special. ||The rooms were beautifully designed and incredibly comfortable — the perfect retreat after exploring the city. The resort’s location in the heart of the Chiado neighborhood made it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and some of Lisbon’s best sights. Everything I wanted to see was just a short stroll or tram ride away.||A highlight of my stay was the sunset cruise on the river — a magical experience with amazing views, great company, and the Lisbon sunset was stunning. Everything about my stay at The Late Birds Lisbon was amazing. I really appreciated how the staff reached out before my visit to answer questions and even help with bookings—it made arrival stress-free. Ryan’s warm welcome set the tone, and Ricardo along with the rest of the team made me feel both safe and completely at home. Samuel keeps the bar lively and inviting, which was perfect as a solo traveler—it gave me the chance to meet new friends, learn more about Lisbon from fellow guests, and even find dining companions. I also loved that visitor passes allow locals to enjoy the pool and bar, creating a truly social and welcoming atmosphere. If you’re staying here, I also highly recommend booking the sunset sail—it was an unforgettable highlight of my trip. Overall, I’d highly, highly recommend The Late Birds to anyone visiting Lisbon.

The Late Birds Lisbon is an oasis in the midst of bustling Lisbon. The location makes travel around the city easy - with easy access to the Metro and the famous 28 trolley. Many wonderful restaurants and night spots are within walking distance. The property is well appointed and the rooms are comfortable. The staff is extremely gracious, helpful and friendly. I felt like one of the family - and now consider myself to be one of the Late Birds flock.

This is a treasure in Lisbon for the gay male traveller. From the dynamic staff to the delicious breakfast, the secluded pool and perfect location, this is a must for your next adventure in Portugal. The rooms are handsomely appointed with every need anticipated. This was a high point of our vacation and it will be for you too.

We were lucky to book a room at this wonderful hotel and we didn’t even know how lucky we were. It’s such a nice hotel but above all the whole team is going above and beyond. What an excellent hotel!! The entire staff was incredibly friendly, easy to talk to, helpful in making reservations or planning things out. As a solo traveler they made me feel welcomed. Lovely guests too - the sunset cruise was a great way to connect with others. Great location, most things are within walking distance. I would HIGHLY recommend!

This is a wonderful Hotel which caters to gay community. Hotel is very nice. The rooms are very nice. The pool areas are Very nice. Everything about the place was top-notch. I will go back and you should check it out too.

I stayed at The Late Birds over the U.S. Memorial Day weekend. I found it after a general search ( had the Sofitel Liberdade booked). I'm so glad I stayed at The Late Birds; Carlos and Duarte are very welcoming, as is Greg, whom I wish great things on his next chapter ;) . Everything is spotless and modern. Having lived in London previously, I enjoyed the ever cheesy Eurovision across the Late Birds pool, but as that is only one night this year, I am sure Carlos will find many other events to broadcast. Fantastic Lisbon, highly recommend a visit to the late birds to experience a fusion of gay meets contemporary Lisbon culture. Facilities are to an A grade standard and include ensuite and access to swimming pool and bar. Close to all the gay and tourist hot spots. Carlos and duarte are incredible hosts and really encapsulate the spirit of Lisbon. Highly recommended louis

Third time I stayed with Carlos and Duarte. They are such gifted hosts! The beds, the linen, everything is absolute top quality! Wish I had this at home. The design and decoration of the building, the rooms and even the garden with the green pool and peacocks peeking down from the walls, is astonishing. The cupcakes at breakfast I called "Beijos de Duarte", these are heavenly! When you are in for a real treat, this is where you wanna go.
