Very neat place, in every sense of the word! The Inn blends into its historic surroundings on the outside, but on the inside, it has been completely remodeled. Jim, the owner of the Inn, was wonderful. He stayed up late because my flight was delayed to let me in and greeted me with a plate of banana bread for a snack since I missed dinner. Jim also offered a ridiculous number of choices for breakfast in his beautiful kitchen. He emailed restaurant and sightseeing suggestions, too. Scattered throughout the Inn were brochures and framed newspaper articles with snippets about local culture, architecture, and historic events.
The room was meticulously clean and the bed was large and sturdy enough to land a helicopter (and that was in the smallest room in the house, I believe!) I was concerned about cats, but the only evidence of them I have seen in my two-day stay was an empty dish in the kitchen I ungraciously stepped into. I haven't seen a single cat hair anywhere in the house. Personal menu at breakfast, abundance of bath towels, fridge stocked with soda, fresh newspapers, wi-fi: you can't get better service or surroundings for twice the price even at the best downtown hotels!
Stay with confidence. I will definitely be back here if I get a chance!
