I've stayed in beautiful hotels around the world, but the Laurel has become my new favorite. My stay was superlative. From the valet to housekeeping to the Library staff, every staff member was delightful. Love, love, love their whole rooftop experience, from pool to the gorgeous views of Samford Hall and the football stadium.
The downstairs restaurant was closed, but my meals and cocktails in the Library were good (I'd give them 4/5 stars, but it was a lounge, so I'm good with that).
My room was a king suite. Sheer perfection. Every appointment was beautiful and tasteful. It took me a few moments to figure out all of the things controlled by the iPad, but it was great once I got the hang of it.
The bed was fabulously comfortable. The bathroom had a tub large enough for three people, the toiletries were all BVLGARI, the shower had three jets, a hand sprayer, and a regular shower head. There was even a TV screen in the mirror; which I didn't even know existed.
My only sadness about this lovely place is that my stay lasted just one night. Apparently, they offer private residences. I can see why. I never wanted to leave. I truly look forward to coming back for a future stay. Just an incredible experience all around. Kudos!
