The Law Cafe puts me in mind of the Stephen Crane poem:
In the desert
I saw a creature, naked, bestial,
Who, squatting upon the ground,
Held his heart in his hands,
And ate of it.
I said: "Is it good, friend?"
"It is bitter-bitter," he answered;
"But I like it
Because it is bitter,
And because it is my heart."
...except if you find me in the Law Cafe & ask, "Is it good, friend?" I will answer:
"There is an adequate selection
Of prepackaged foods,
And they charge for salad
By container, not by weight,
So if I am hungry,
I can pack a bunch of food in there
And I do not have to pay extra.
But the bread is stale
And the dining area is stuffy
And overcrowded.
But I like it
Because I am hungry,
And because I have class soon."
