Absolutely fabulous place. We really regret not spending longer here. Really clean and tidy, period property. Everything works first time and a real delight. Can't wait to find an excuse to return. Really central location for exploring York and a handy Tesco metro a few minutes down the road.

Recently stayed here and it’s perfect. Feels secure and safe, 2 minute walk down the road is the ncp car park which you get discount from The Lawrance! Clean, tidy, modern apartment. 10 minute walk down the road and you’re right in the city centre. Great location and easy instructions on how to get access. Will definitely be staying again. Thankyou!

We stayed there for 2 nights. The location was great, close to the train station and walking distance to everywhere. The room itself was clean and tidy, good size and the kitchen is well equipped. The bed was comfortable and very good size BUT the pillows were horrible. The pillows were so bad that either of us slept well for both days. They gave you two each already but even though we used both, it was still unacceptable, even the cheapest IKEA pillows would have been better. Our windows also face the streets and there were no net curtains, so we couldn't really bring up the blinds otherwise everyone outside could see us. We found the TV remote completely broken in half (not sure how they didn't notice it when they cleaned the room!), but it was replaced immediately so service was good. Overall I think it's a nice place to stay as long as you bring your own pillows!

We stayed for three nights in apartment 12. Visually as soon as you walk in the apartment looks great. It is also a great location with a short walk to the centre and a bus stop really close by that we used to travel to the York Designer Outlet. The 33% of parking was brilliant and easy to do as well. Unfortunately every morning we woke up at 6am or earlier as the room only had slatted blinds which let so much light in. The set of blinds above the desk/dressing table did not close fully flush so at all times the room was still very light even with the lights off and blinds “closed.” For a luxury apartment I would expect black out blinds or curtains as these blinds are not fit for a bedroom. As someone else mentioned in a review also the bar stools are too high for the bar so it is very uncomfortable/not really possible to sit at. Overall this is the second time we have stayed here, the first time was in one of the deluxe apartments and this time in just a one bedroom apartment. While the whole apartment is wonderful being able to sleep is a very big part of staying in a hotel. I wouldn’t rush back to stay in this apartment again, especially in comparison to the deluxe one.

I’m just on my journey back from a wonderful, wonderful stay here. I’m a very anxious person who travelled on my own for the first time and have never felt so safe and comfortable! Everything was absolutely spotless, apartments are massive and the baths are a dream. Everything is very well organised and can’t wait to stay here again, thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Comfy bed. Great heating. Decent kitchen. Beware scalding from the hot water - instructions required. Also, despite instructions to close the gate behind you, a large car exited the parking area, leaving the gate wide open. This could be a problem, as we were able to re-enter the complex without using the codes an hour later.

Review for The Lawrance Luxury Apartments, York I rarely feel compelled to leave a negative review, but my experience at The Lawrance, York, was deeply disappointing, particularly as I had booked this stay to celebrate a milestone 60th birthday with family. The problems began even before we arrived. Despite booking and paying in full weeks in advance, we received no arrival or access information two days before our stay. Multiple calls went unanswered. When I finally made contact, I was told the information would be sent later that afternoon — it wasn’t. On the day we set off to the apartments I did manage, 1 hr before we arrived to speak to someone who explained a “system failure" was at fault, though Booking.com advised no such failure was reported on their systems. On arrival, we were told check-in was not until 3 p.m., despite having already struggled with our luggage from a distant car park. No luggage storage was offered, and no flexibility shown i.e. that our one case coukd be stored in an empty room until ours was ready and then moved across, despite the disruption this caused to our planned celebrations. Attempts to find a reasonable solution were met with flat refusals. When we finally accessed our apartment after returning early from lunch and hauling luggage back from the NCP again, we found it to be far from the "luxury" standard advertised. Apartment 11 is functional but let down by numerous issues: scuffed walls, unfinished paintwork, a very small television, only four coat hangers and no wardrobe, and a filthy, unusable mirror on the dressing table. The blinds did little to block out light, and I was awake before 6:30 a.m. The bathroom, while modern in design, was marred by poor finishing, including badly applied sealant and rust-stained tiles. Despite reaching out to management directly to give them the opportunity to address the situation privately, the response I received was appalling — defensive, accusatory, and completely lacking in professionalism. Rather than acknowledge the legitimate concerns raised, they shifted blame onto me and accused me of rudeness, which is frankly beyond belief. Overall, this was an extremely poor experience from a company that clearly does not value genuine customer feedback or understand the fundamentals of hospitality. Needless to say, we will not be returning, and I hope this review encourages future guests to consider alternative accommodation where service and quality are taken seriously. Try Malmaison, it's cheaper and far superior. Paul Meakin

Yelp
Wonderful apartments on a quiet side street. Clean, modern space -- and absolutely the most comfortable bed and bedding we had anywhere on our 2-week trip. Very nice, responsive, and accommodating front desk too -- by email or phone. The only snafus were: 1) when our vent in our bedroom starting leaking condensation onto our things in the middle of the day. Thankfully, our friend was home taking a couple of work calls, so he called maintenance. And 2) I got locked in and couldn't leave as I was running late for dinner, because our key cards that opened our apartment and the gate to get out all stopped working just on that gate. Bit of a freak-out moment for me, but thankfully, phoning the front desk brought someone out to help me get out.
