We stopped in for Wednesday night karaoke and had an amazing experience. The vibe was welcoming and wonderful, the drinks and service fantastic. We will be back during our next visit! Thank you especially to Melissa for the great hosting and Liz for slinging the drinks!

Perfect venue that accommodates even weddings. The staff was very professional, friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were served quickly and everything was delicious. The only thing wrong - parking! Be careful, no matter the time (and whether you park for just 5 minutes or an hour) - you will get a ticket! It would be nice if the theater had some better parking opportunities.

Very surprised when we walked into the theater. Lovely and charming atmosphere . Friendly staff. Saw a free movie, Had dinner and drinks. Simple menu, but the food was delicious. Taylor was like a one man show very accommodating .And Lauren, our waitress was helpful in suggesting what to eat and drink. Paid on line for the comedy show. Wish they would have been better prepared to preform that night.

There is no better feeling than when you haven’t been able to visit a place you love with your entire soul, between ownership, staff, and the guests, to order a smash burger, like you used to, a couple years later. And it’s still the best. The leavitt theater is a staple, a heartwarming staple we are all privileged to enjoy. The crispy bun. The perfect pickles. The everything. If you haven’t been, go. I could say so much more. But just go. Enjoy 💙

I recently stopped in here for drinks and a few appetizers while exploring Ogunquit for the first time. The food and drinks were great! I felt lucky that I got Emily as the bartender that night. She was a lot of fun and full of great energy. Can’t wait to come back for dinner and see a show the next time I’m in town. 😃

Saw the best drag show! Really love the space and vibe here. Everyone is really engaged, from ticketing, ushers, bartenders and servers. Can't wait to go back.

OMG, the Grilled cheese is to die for!! So was the HotDog fried in duck fat until they stopped selling it recently. That new Ciabatta sandwich was good!!! The cold asparagus salad was DELICIOUS!!! Didn't like the bitter tasting Caesar Salad but the silent movies and staff were great. Such a good time!!!! May 15th 2025. We saw "A Star Is Born" The 1937 Version. My partner Got a grilled cheese with chips. Nothing on the menu wowed me so I passed. I only ate chips that came with the sandwich and water. When we finished, we went up and sat on a couch and finished the movie.

My friends and I are on our college grad trip here. We all are from the same town in Connecticut; thus, having Connecticut IDs. We just had a lovely meal and drinks at the Patio and got recommended to go here because it’s “magical” inside. Big mistake. No magic there. Only rude and terrible service. Our server had to take our IDs to her boss to make sure they were real, which we were understandable about because it is her job. Her boss claimed that the two vertical IDs and two horizontal IDs were fake. The only fake thing is that statement. We told them to scan our IDs because they are real. She mentioned her boss is friends with the police and he can call them over real quick to scan them, so we asked her to do so. She never came back and we were just waiting like sitting ducks. Two of us then went down to talk to him and he said he would call the police to scan them. When we said yes, he just handed back the IDs. We go back to our seats and still no service. Frankly, unacceptable. Overall, this falls upon the “man in charge’s” responsibility. All the other workers seemed nervous around him. He never tried to fix the problem and gave us attitude. Therefore, we left. We didn’t want to pay a place that cannot treat their customers with respect and basic human decency. I am very shocked as never would have thought this would occur to my friends and I. There is a right way and a wrong way to handle a misunderstanding and clearly the “boss” needs a lesson in customer service. Keep in mind, it was pouring rain outside. We rather walk out in the rain than stay at a place that was so dismissive and rude. 0/10 would recommend. We came in looking for a good time and all we got is aggravation and annoyance. For a place running for over 100 years, maybe invest in an ID scanner, as you clearly need help reading IDs.

Yelp
Best cocktails in all of Ogunquit! Funky vibe and friendly atmosphere. Didn't eat other then snacked on the truffle popcorn which was different but tasty better if it was hot. Will revisit next time I'm back in town!

Yelp
Possibly one of the coolest spaces and concepts I have ever been to and it's tucked away in a small Maine town! Saw live jazz in the theater during a rainy Sunday evening with amazing cocktails and an ambience that is killer! Service was great as well, our server Marlow was the man

Yelp
Fun and entertaining left me on the edge on my seat for the whole Harry Potter movie and very great workers

Yelp
I'll always remember this as the place we watched, with a full house, the Celtics win their 18th championship. What a great night with fun people.

Yelp
Came to the bar that is attached to the theater for pre-dinner drinks. Service was very good, choice of mixed drinks, especially specialty cocktails, is very good, wine choices are a bit limited, seating is indoors and outdoors, with heaters available in the cooler weather. Loved the wall chock filled with bottles, glasses, mugs, mirrors, the fresh basil & fresh mint in vases, waiting to be used in drinks. Snag a seat early on if you are here for a show, or if it is during the late dinner hour.

Yelp
We visited last month for a drag show and a few nights later the movie "Jaws" The theater has so much history in it. Neither time did we eat. We had a drink at the drag show. Been here many times in the past years. It is a favorite place to visit. Highly recommend visiting at least once when you are in Ogunquit. A true piece of history!

Yelp
I finally tried this restaurant and have been back several times this summer already. Everything I've had here is special and delicious. Arguably the best chef in ogunquit. The smash burger is perfection. I'm usually a ketchup person but this burger needs nothing. I will be back again and again.

Yelp
Kitschy ambiance and delicious drinks! What can you say about a vintage movie theater that pairs free movies with a fantastic smash burger and martini, I strongly recommend!

Yelp
A group of us just spent four days at this theatre for an event, and they were absolutely wonderful. The food, the cocktails, the theater itself, we had a HUGE group for this event, and everyone was so kind and accommodating. There is typical theater seating, and also box-type seating, and couches in the back so that anyone of any size/ability has a comfortable place to enjoy the shows. We especially loved the bar service right to our seats, and the food was absolutely delicious. Actually, the gluten-free bun they use with their super tasty burger is the best I've ever had. What a gem! I've been to Ogunquit a dozen times and didn't even know about this place, and now I'll make sure to come back for a show!

Yelp
Not only is this theater historical and quite magical but the work that the owners have put into it over the years is beautiful. The weekly lineups that they have chosen for this venue are nothing short of incredible, & so much fun! The bar inside the theater is aesthetically picture perfect! The bar and restaurant downstairs is equally beautiful and the food was delicious. We ordered the skirt steak with chimichurri and it was seasoned and cooked perfectly and the accoutrements were paired well. I highly recommend their entire menu, especially the steak! The drink menu is clever and the drinks were top notch. I had the espresso martini which came beautifully garnished with homemade Baileys whipped cream. My husband had the Lovett margarita and he said it was very good as well. The staff was polite, professional, fast, and fun! We had a great evening and cannot wait to go back- it should be a must stop for anyone visiting ogunquit!

Yelp
Loved this little movie theater. Free movie, good food, really nice bar area as well. We're definitely going back!

Yelp
We came to catch an early comedy show and it was delightful. The staff was attentive and friendly. We purchased a private table for $80 and were a bit disappointed when the waitress told folks who arrived after us that they could choose any table that didn't have a "reserved" sign on it. So they basically got the same table we had for 60$ less. However! The truffle popcorn and grilled cheese made my forget about being disgruntled:) The comedians were very funny. Fun night all in all.

Yelp
Love the owner! The food is creative and amazing! We love the smash burger and all of h Ty e creative appetizers they make! Live the drinks too

Yelp
We would have loved to go to a movie here, but this is COVID summer so we had to settle for Ogunquit's latest last call and open kitchen. We sat outside around 11pm and had a really good spaghetti carbonara and mapo tofu (spicy as hell and delicious; not for vegetarians though as it has minced pork) along with a Mexican style corn on the cob for an appetizer. Portions aren't massive and prices were fair. The Aperol spritz wasn't our favorite, but the sour style beer was quite good. Service was friendly and hipstery, the vibe at the bar area lively, and the owners and staff thoughtfully progressive, with signage about Black Lives Matter. This made us more interested in supporting the business and we were glad that we did.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere, friendly staff, awesome locals and the food is unbelievable. Whether you order the classic smashed burger, chilled jonah crab, street corn or incredible lobster roll, you will not be disappointed. In an area inundated with pre-made sysco food (chowder in a bag) this place is a breathe of fresh air. Chef Remes is a man on a mission. If you think you have enjoyed a good lobster roll, you are mistaken. I highly recommend giving his a try.

Yelp
We went to this restaurant on 9/6/2020 (around 7:30-8pm) for dinner. We stood in front of the reception desk for 30 mins and the female receptionist ignored us the whole time. We were standing with two toddlers, 2& 3 years old, but she didn't even bother to tell us that we needed to look for a table first. After 30 mins standing wait, we decided to ask her how much longer the wait is, then she said "first come first serve, so you need to look for your own table." Hello!? Didn't you see us standing right in front of you the whole time? Wouldn't it be a good idea to tell us earlier that we need to find our own table?

Yelp
We ordered an Old Fashion and a Premiere. They were delicious! The bartender used his own walnut infused whiskey and house made vermouth for the Old Fashion. He definitely takes mixing drinks seriously! The server was also very nice and quite helpful.

Yelp
This is for the restaurant/bar. The theatre is really cool but the food in the bar restaurant was really bad. The skirt steak was like eating a heart. It was slimy and tough and served in a soup bowl which was just awkward.. The hamburger had so much salt in it that it was inedible. The caeser salad was soggy. Worst meal we had in a long time.

Emma N.

Yelp
Loved this theatre and bar!!!! Saw a concert and grabbed a drink at the bar. A hoppin' spot with great entertainment.

Yelp
You don't find a lot of family-run businesses that are decades (or in this case, a century!) old and are still able to adapt with the times -- and for the better. Leavitt is one of those rare exceptions. Growing up in Ogunquit, I have so many good memories watching movies in the old theater and now I can sit in that same theater and watch live music with a drink in my hand on a Friday night. The Leavitt recently added a bar (Leavitt Lounge) in the back, which is a great addition in my opinion. It opens up after their nightly movie has ended. Leavitt Lounge feels like a speakeasy. The drinks are all handcrafted and delicious and there's usually a live band playing music. It's a fun local hangout, but also accessible to out-of-towners just because of the sheer novelty of it all, for nothing else. I mean, you're having a drink in a historic, 100-year-old theater, so that's pretty cool. The Leavitt has been an Ogunquit staple for decades and I hope it continues to be!

Yelp
Went to the Leavitt Theatre last night and WOW-this old school elevated Hollywood vibe theatre is a destination in itself. From iconic prohibition style cocktails~ mixed with a new era vintage vibe, classy live jazz , films rolling in the background and romantic outside patio accommodations this place has you completely enamored and wanting more! Not to mention they are the only place in town with a late night food menu that blows other restaurants out of the water! Got the grilled cheese which was made on a rustic thick cut grilled bread with a blend of different cheeses and a beautifully dressed wedge salad. Hats off to the owner for creating a truly unique space that is ALL it's own. We will be back again and again !!!!

Yelp
Go to a movie at the Leavitt. Any movie. What are you waiting for?! These classic theaters are true gems that won't be around forever, if even for a few more decades. Get a hot popcorn, relax, enjoy.

Yelp
The Leavitt Theatre is Ogunquit's oldest continually running business with good reason. A quaint and friendly historic single screen theatre, they are open seasonally and show a variety of movies each week. Family owned and operated, real butter on the popcorn- what's not to love! http://retroroadmap.com/2010/07/29/the-leavitt-theatre-ogunquit-me-youll-love-it/

Yelp
The speakeasy style bar, new this year, adds to an already fabulous atmosphere found at The Leavitt. Go late night for delicious craft cocktails, or bring family for a scrumptious, creative dinner you won't soon forget. Live music, comedy shows, and movies provide the entertainment! A local spot that's constantly improving. My order - House Focaccia Burrata, Smash Burger, and the Premier gin drink.

Yelp
Abe was GREAT! Haunted house in October, movies on the screen, A bar upstairs w/snacks and some food items! So worth the trip and visit. It is seasonal so don't miss out!

Yelp
Great old fashioned movie theater with more than a show an popcorn. Dinner, cocktails, late night live band and other special events.

Cam S.

Yelp
Wow is all that I can say! Between the food, drinks and overall vibe that the restaurant gave it was quite an experience. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Yelp
Best burger in Ogunquit and very talented mixologist behind the bar.

Yelp
Great place all around. Nostalgic theater with great popcorn for catching a flick and at night the place turns into a sort of speak-easy. It has signature cocktails, pulled pork nachos and live music. What more would you want!

Yelp
Cool funky vibe with live bands and food too. I will come back to see a movie at some point too. Love these old theatres. They are a dying breed. Check it out.

Lisa V.

Yelp
Such a great movie theatre, Ogunquit is lucky to have it. Historic, friendly, good variety in the movies they book. Remind your self what the silver screen was all about ...

Viktor B.

Yelp
One of the oldest theaters you can find anywhere around here. It has a cool old-fashioned aesthetic and a brand new lounge. They serve beer, cocktails, wine, and even food. You could come in for dinner before the movie or even eat during it. Not only that, but the food is great! Not to mention the fact that the lounge stays open until 1 in the morning with classics being played on the big screen. You also never have to worry about not getting a seat because they've got well over 500. From historic silent films to new blockbusters and even live shows, they have it all. That's only some of the stuff, you can find out more on their website or even by walking down and talking to the owner or employees. They're excellent at what they do and very friendly.

Pat B.

Yelp
My husband and I were delighted with our evening at the Leavitt: drinks, apps, and a delightful silent movie with expert organ accompaniment. If you'd like a truly unique movie experience, go to the Leavitt.

K S.

Yelp
It's a fun old movie house with two levels of seating and a decent concession stand. Kudos on using real butter for the popcorn, folks!
