The Ledge Outdoor Store

The Ledge was a phenomenal shopping experience. I recently stopped in to get gear for motorcycle camping. While motorcycles are not Mike's forte, his general camping/mountaineering knowledge was vast and extremely helpful. ​He helped me find a great hammock and sleep system that are perfect for my situation. Mike is knowledgeable about gear specs and durability. He helped me find items that are lightweight and packable enough for a bike. I mostly bought from his stock, but he had some recommendations that he ordered for me. He is a valuable local resource and will be my first, second, and third stop when I inevitably need more gear.

The Ledge, is the best outdoor store by far. Mike is so knowledgeable and always willing to help. He helped me find great accessories for my kayak and carry system. He carries a great selection of product and can usually get anything you need that he might not have instore. Mike's knowledge of the outdoors and our local area is a great resource. This is a level of care and service you just DON'T FIND ONLINE or at big chains. Local Gem that is at the heart of our community. Thank you.

I love this store. The owner is super cool guy. They have all the name brands that I love I just bought myself A pair of Danners and couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend the store but don’t go in there if you’re looking for cheap stuff this is quality.

The family that owns and runs the ledge, generate a great atmosphere within the store/climbing gym along with the usual visitors. The climbing area is amazing with an array of features including cracks, arches, a chimney and more, which is rare to see even in a gym system like touchstone or any climbing gym anywhere. And At the entrance of the ledge, there's an awesome store which contains products from swords to cigars. It also includes outdoor gear that ranges from hiking boots and LA Sportivas to snow jackets and harnesses. Overall it's a shame that such a gem of a climbing wall with its awesome features, is invisible to most of Klamath Falls. And its amazing store, isn't getting the traffic you would expect to see with its awesome staff ( who happen to be the owners) and community.

I don't know how to write a raving review without sounding so heckin' cliché, but this is my story. My experienced ocean kayaking boyfriend brought us here with the intention of gifting me a kayak! Please note I've been canoeing once in my life. To say I tried to be overwhelmed is funny because new things are much to process, and it was a stop while we were in town kinda vibe. That feeling was immediately squashed by the pure intention and love placed about the store. Clearly, and without understanding of the skill, we walked into a leader, teacher, and master of all things kayaking shop! One hour later I had an ocean kayak for 2, 2 paddles, whistles for our life vests, straps, and many lessons! The owner so kindly took their time ensuring I was equipped in the right life vest. That we had the right length poles. That we knew how to attach our seats to the kayak! How to care for our kayak! We even learned how to strap our kayak! It has been a little over a month and we have been to 1 lake and 1 creek. I've witnessed more in those 2 adventures, outdoors, on the water, than the four years I've spent traveling the west coast! Thank you kindly for sharing your time, skill, knowledge, energy, passion, and love with everyone who is brave enough to try the unknown!! What a wonderful experience! The owner was super helpful in all our questions and even held over a sale for one more day since he was closed on the day we tried to come in. We bought a day kid pack for our daughter that we are super excited for! We've been wanting one for a long time and found something that is just perfect for us. I would definitely recommend The Ledge for buying locally all your outdoor needs. There is a good selection of consignment used gear as well as tons of great new gear.

My husband and I were walking around the last Saturday market checking out all of the stores down town when we were about to walk into the ledge outdoors store. The owner yelled at us for letting our dog pee on the bushes planted outside on the ground with the cities trees. We never even made it in the store he was so rude to us. It’s a shame because we really wanted to check it out.

Mike, the owner operator of The Ledge, is the best. He is always trying to bring the best of new equipment whether it’s for climbing, hiking or kayaking. And he has a lot of stuff right in the store plus he has a warehouse where he keeps the overflow! I bought a Bonafide kayak from a number of years ago from him. Still a great boat. I was in there today looking for kayak with a peddle drive. He had several with great drives and better prices than I remember. He also had a 13 foot, Eddyline Sand Piper that was just a sweet looking machine. Long and sleek, just beautiful. I think I’m going to start saving my nickels so I can buy that Sand Piper before summer slips by.

Best stocked store ever. There is a giant glass garage door that opens out onto the sidewalk. The owner is knowledgeable and helpful in finding the best recreational gear. Best part of town... The newest items available.

Mike stands behind and KNOWS his products! He helped me through a bone headed mistake I made when I was trying to install a rack for my truck. 10/10!

Solid spot. Went in to get a map of local wilderness. Owner was super friendly. He had a number of topo map options. Not a big store but had the essentials for backpacking. Also had kayaks etc. And some used gear in the back, including skis, camp stuff etc. And some local soap made by his wife. Recommend if that's the kind of stuff you need.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Michael was a huge help - gave us great recommendations. Highly recommend this place! Great quality gear too.

Needed to buy a pair of hiking boots while in town and Mike was amazing. Outstanding customer service. Mike was very knowledgeable and helped us pick the perfect boot. Would recommend to anyone and everyone. We will be back next time we are in town.

We like the quality of rental equipment, the climbing facility and the helpfulness of the staff. Recommend.

I guess in a town with no competition you can get away with offering the "service" this place offers.

Stopped in here for some gear before making a summit on Mt Shasta. Very friendly and super helpful. He helped me find exactly what I needed. The day we stopped in he had a sale going on. I ended up with what I needed for a very good price. He even gave me a firefighter discount. He definitely looks to help people who stop in. Stop in and check it out.

Was there during the week of Thanksgiving and the owner, Mike, was excellent. He has a great variety of outdoor gear and if he doesn't have it, he can probably get it for you! The indoor climbing gym was fantastic!!! A great alternative to a "typical" gym, and a great way to meet outdoorsy folks. Love and support small town, small business!!!! I'll be back, no doubt!!

We rented a canoe for 2 hours to putter around the lake. Mike delivered the canoe and all the necessary equipment--even a permit!--to the lake and picked it up when we were done. We felt Mike went out of his way to make our experience great. Really top notch!

What terrific customer service - I brought in a nice headlamp that I had bought at the ledge seven years ago. The nut that holds the lamp onto its mounting bracket became loose and was lost. Mike A. got on the phone with the manufacturer and the are sending a new one - try that with mail order!

Amazing customer service. Came in to ask about hiking around crater lake and Mike was super helpful showing us the national park webcams and letting us know about snowshoe rentals. Also has a great selection of outdoor gear and a cool climbing gym in the back.

The Ledge is a great place to check out cool gear, rock climb in 'The Yetti's Lair' and relax and talk to other outdoor minded folk. They also have hard to find repair items and an amazing selection of cool knick-knacks from local artists. And the best part.... A FULL INDOOR HUMIDOR! So grab a good cigar, the gear you need, and hit the trails!

We live in Arizona and recently bought some land outside Klamath Falls. On our way out to the land we stopped at The Ledge to get some supplies that we did not bring with us. Mike, the owner, was the very first person we met in Klamath Falls & we could not have picked a nicer more knowledgeable person to start this experience off with! He called around to find an item for us that he would not be getting in for a couple days, he gave us some popcorn wrap to dog-proof our sleeping pads from getting holes in them, he showed us where some natural springs were on a map, and even gave us his cell in case we came up with any issues that we might need some help with. What a wonderful experience! We even found the other customers that we met to be super friendly & willing to reach out to help "the new folks in town". Our dog also enjoyed being allowed in the store & said goodbye to every child from the girl scout troop that was leaving. This country needs more places like this around for sure! We would highly recommend The Ledge!
