The Leeway

This place is adorable! I was visiting family in the area and this was perfect! I stayed in what they called a “Standard Room”. It was an adorable little apartment with a living room, bed room, and bathroom. It had a fridge stocked with nice waters and it had coffee options. The grounds are lovely with great landscaping. It would be a great place for a family reunion or even a rustic wedding. It has a beautiful forest area opening to the river with Aderondak chairs, hammocks, and a big fire pit. A sweet, hidden gem!

My stay at The Leeway was serene and peaceful. Tena was responsive, reliable, and so sweet. I had one issue while I was there and she was prompt in providing a solution and handled it with a customer-first mindset. She was also thoughtful to include a bottle of Prosecco in my unit for my birthday, which was a special touch. The property is easy to find, spacious without being too spread out, and the river is stunning. I loved having coffee on my deck each morning, loved having my own Marshall speaker to play music, and enjoyed the wildlife - bald eagles and even a black bear (who minded his own business). The bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, the kitchen had everything needed to make homemade meals, and the shower pressure was fantastic. Parking and keyless entry were also easy, and the location was perfect - super close to Phoenicia Diner, Woodstock, beautiful drives, great hikes (I walked the Reservoir and did Huckleberry Point), Kingston, etc. Would definitely recommend staying here, especially in the lofted suites!

We absolutely loved The Leeway! The rooms are perfectly equipped to make our stay cozy, warm, and relaxing. The hospitality was above and beyond with a darling welcome basket with local goods as well as a local guide. We loved walking down to the creek and reading on the Adirondack chairs or hammocks. Super convenient to lots of little spots for eating and hiking. We were so happy here and hope to come back!

Our stay at The Leeway was great! The picturesque grounds with a path to a beautiful stream. The grounds are great to relax on a hammock, play cornhole, etc. Our accommodations were impeccably clean and comfortable!|The staff was very friendly and accommodating supporting any questions or concerns. This definitely made our stay very comfortable and welcoming. The accessibility to hiking trails and downtown to great shopping and restaurants truly enhanced our stay. |I look forward to returning to The Leeway !

We stayed at The Leeway with our family from July 7th to 9th in a two-bedroom apartment, and it was a truly special experience. We were especially impressed by the beautifully landscaped grounds and the breathtaking views of the river and mountains — they honestly left us speechless. It’s the kind of place where you just want to sit with a cup of coffee, listen to the birds, and enjoy the peacefulness. The hotel itself is very clean, with comfortable beds, crisp white linens, and a pleasant scent of wood in the air. Each bedroom has small windows that help you sleep as long as you like — perfect for rest and relaxation. Everything in the space is tastefully chosen — the furniture, the dishes, the little touches — all done with great care and style. In the evenings, we loved playing board games by the fireplace. One very kind gesture I’ll never forget: the hosts kindly lent me a phone charger after I accidentally left mine at home. It was such a thoughtful and sweet thing to do. On the first day, before check-in, we visited some nearby waterfalls and went hiking. On the second day, we did the Rail Explorers ride and had an absolute blast — highly recommended! When we got back home to Brooklyn, my son said: “Mom, I want to go back.” And so do we. We will definitely return to this magical place. Thank you for everything!

Truly love staying at The Leeway... such a beautiful property. Really great hikes/fishing/breweries very near by. Well kept rooms/suites. Tena and the staff are super lovely to deal with. Couldn't recommend the place more highly. ||See you again soon!

We had a fantastic stay with our 2 pugs at The Leeway! The property is stunning, pictures don't capture the beauty of this place. We loved all of the thoughtful touches inside and the space outside by the creek is truly a best kept secret with firepits, hammocks, outhouse, string lights and the most breath taking views of the mountains. Will definitely be returning asap!

Highly recommend! Scenic location by the creek, immersive in Nature. The value and service was like a 4 star hotel. Everything well thought of: effortless, friendly check-in, well-supplied pantry essentials, super comfortable bed, top-notch bed linen! It was just like stepping into your own home.
