The Leeway (Catskills & Hudson Valley, New York) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It’s been generations since the Catskills were as popular an escape as they are now, and the Leeway in Mount Tremper is one of the many stylish hotels taking advantage. It isn’t entirely new: opened as a motel in the 1950s, this creekside property got a kitschy makeover in 2004 by Kate Pierson, frontwoman of the B-52s. After extensive renovations at the hands of its new owners, it was reborn as a boutique inn with rustic-chic interiors, locally roasted coffee, sustainable landscaping, Apotheke bath products, and countless other details carefully chosen to help Brooklynites feel right at home." - Tablet Hotels

The Leeway is a lovely spot for a nature filled getaway. My husband and I stayed here for his 40th birthday and The Leeway did not disappoint. The included coffee, kitchenette, and amazing shower made better than expected. We started a fire in the pit by the creek and hung out there for hours one afternoon. The local is great and the restaurant recommendations are on point. I highly recommend The Leeway for couples and even families with kids that would enjoy playing in the creek and making s'mores.

I stayed at The Leeway for four nights as part of a wedding. I cannot stress how BEAUTIFUL the property was -- everything from the creek to the lawn to the blankets on the bed.||My room was luxurious and cozy. Sparkling clean bathroom, nice shower, good water pressure. The full-size oven and electric kettle certainly came in handy. And cute spiral staircase leading up to my warm bedroom!||The Leeway was extremely accommodating for the wedding party, who had rented out the whole venue. The staff was super friendly and ready to help with whatever we needed, while also giving us privacy and the freedom to roam the property.||I'll certainly be returning for vacations whenever I can!

We absolutely loved The Leeway! The rooms are perfectly equipped to make our stay cozy, warm, and relaxing. The hospitality was above and beyond with a darling welcome basket with local goods as well as a local guide. We loved walking down to the creek and reading on the Adirondack chairs or hammocks. Super convenient to lots of little spots for eating and hiking. We were so happy here and hope to come back!

If you are staying anywhere in the Catskills you would be insane to skip this place! We've been to the area many times scouting for locations for our wedding. We have stayed at so many absolutely wonderful places, and yet none come even close to this hidden gem!!!||We can talk about how cute, clean, and comfy the rooms are, or the beautiful campus you have access to, and we will! But the MOST important thing is the team on site. Tena runs the property and she is the absolute kindest, most welcoming person I have ever met in hospitality (and I worked in hospitality for 13 years). The folks at The Leeway only want you to have an incredible visit and they will do anything to pull it off.||We had our wedding here and I couldn't be happier. But even before that, we came up to stay multiple times. We've stayed in almost every cottage and each one was delightful. Charming touches made us feel right at home. And a private creek area? Fire pits? Hammocks? It's a slice of heaven. I dare you to lie in the grass and stare at the night's sky with a belly full of s'mores by a fire you built with your own hands and tell me you've ever had a better vacation.||Stay here now. Thank me later.||(Photos from our wedding album by @foreverphotographyny)

This place is adorable! I was visiting family in the area and this was perfect! I stayed in what they called a “Standard Room”. It was an adorable little apartment with a living room, bed room, and bathroom. It had a fridge stocked with nice waters and it had coffee options. The grounds are lovely with great landscaping. It would be a great place for a family reunion or even a rustic wedding. It has a beautiful forest area opening to the river with Aderondak chairs, hammocks, and a big fire pit. A sweet, hidden gem!

We had a lovely stay at The Leeway, the cabin was so warm and cozy which was needed for the sudden freezing temperatures. The place was well equipped with everything we needed, clean and such great value! Great location near Phoenicia, Woodstock and lots of good walks / hiking! Would come back for sure!

I absolutely love staying at The Leeway! I’ve already stayed twice (March and October) and both stays were 100% delightful, and I will 100% return many times for years to come. The cabins are spacious, beautifully designed and outfitted, and all around comfortable. The property is peaceful and beautiful to explore (especially with dogs) and a great home base for the best the Catskills has to offer in every direction.

We stayed at The Leeway with our family from July 7th to 9th in a two-bedroom apartment, and it was a truly special experience. We were especially impressed by the beautifully landscaped grounds and the breathtaking views of the river and mountains — they honestly left us speechless. It’s the kind of place where you just want to sit with a cup of coffee, listen to the birds, and enjoy the peacefulness. The hotel itself is very clean, with comfortable beds, crisp white linens, and a pleasant scent of wood in the air. Each bedroom has small windows that help you sleep as long as you like — perfect for rest and relaxation. Everything in the space is tastefully chosen — the furniture, the dishes, the little touches — all done with great care and style. In the evenings, we loved playing board games by the fireplace. One very kind gesture I’ll never forget: the hosts kindly lent me a phone charger after I accidentally left mine at home. It was such a thoughtful and sweet thing to do. On the first day, before check-in, we visited some nearby waterfalls and went hiking. On the second day, we did the Rail Explorers ride and had an absolute blast — highly recommended! When we got back home to Brooklyn, my son said: “Mom, I want to go back.” And so do we. We will definitely return to this magical place. Thank you for everything!
