Google
The food was amazing! We got the wings, onion rings and some drinks. Everything was so uniquely flavorful and learning the history about the building was really interesting. It was cool to sit in a building Doc Holiday and Molly Brown were in.

Google
run, don’t walk!!! go get the pulled pork sandwich — i don’t care if you’re not hungry! kidding, i kindly suggest it 🤭 wanted to stop at the legendary silver dollar saloon for a while + finally made the stop. very worth it / highly recommend it! a couple cold beers + yummy food + nice vibe. sat in the dining area but would sit at the bar next time, for sure.

Lisa P.

Google
Hands down the best food we’ve ever eaten! My husband got the Yak burger special which we hope and pray will be on the menu next time we’re in town, the best burger I’ve ever had. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was amazing, the bun itself, incredible they must make them in house. We were referred by the nice lady at the visitor center, she mentioned the new owner of the bar hand picks food from local farms and prepares holiday dinners for people in need during thanksgiving and Christmas, sounds like a good establishment to support to me! A must eat when in Leadville

Whitney H.

Google
Old saloon that serves an electic menu of modern eats that are well prepared. The staff is friendly and attentive. They have a nice bar and bottled beer. Definitely a place to stop if you're hungry in Leadville.

Google
Food was amazing! We loved the atmosphere! Can’t wait to go back!

Google
I ordered the apple french toast. At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But wow! I never order french toast at restaurants, but this was legendary. It’s given me hope again! (I ate this the night before hiking Mt. Elbert) It was very warm inside this place, but it’s an old building. So I’ll cut it some slack!

Google
We came on an extremely busy weekend… Skijoring weekend! People overload! Considering that I think we got a table relatively quickly, after only waiting 30ish minutes. My friend and I both got the Tandoori Chicken sandwich and an order of onion rings. The tandoori chicken sandwich was good… felt like it needed some acid, maybe lime juice? The bun on the sandwich was the best part! Like melt in your mouth bread. The onion rings were fantastic!! The only reason I knocked a star off of service was because when we ordered drinks my friend got a beer and I asked for a glass of water. Her beer came and no water. After getting our food I asked again for the water which the waitress said the water was self serve from a jug at the front of the dining room. No issue with the self serve part just wish she would have mentioned it 20 min before when we first sat down.

Google
Waited 45 minutes for one sandwich and one tiny burger. Food was fine but at that point I would've eaten anything. Restaurant was only about half full so no apparent reason for the slow service. Also, server never came to check on us once unless we flagged him down.

Yelp
Come for the historical aspect, not the food. We stopped in while driving through town based on the historical aspect of it and Doc Holliday. Sadly it didn't meet expectations, they have TVs hanging throughout the bar and saloon so it takes away from the original allure. The food...we ordered onion rings and the fried green tomatoes as an app. Those were good and that is about all to rave about. My husband got the biscuits and gravy with eggs, potatoes and sausage and the gravy was ice cold so he sent it back. Once rewarmed the sausage was decent but the rest was just ok. I ordered the lamb French dip and it was overpowered by rosemary. I couldn't even finish the sandwich. I had to dip it in ranch to try and make it edible. But that didn't even work. A friend got the pork belly sliders and she said the sliders were really fatty and didn't have a lot of meat. She said the sauce was good but she wouldn't order it again. Our bill was $118 for 5 people for basic food, no alcohol so a bit overpriced for what you get. The service was soso. Nothing to rave about. The restrooms felt dirty. Floors need a deep clean and degreaser. I saw someone in the kitchen using the bathroom as she hung her apron on the door--gross. Had I seen this before we ordered I wld have said let's go. The bar was cool but I think they missed the mark in maintaining the heritage of the bar by having TVs. It does seem more of just a tourist trap, you expect more but it doesn't meet your expectations and is a bit overpriced for what you get. They also didn't have any music playing, they cld increase the saloon vibe by just playing saloon music. ‍ The piano was cool to look at and a cool spot for a quick photo op. My recommendation, skip the food--order a cocktail if that, take your photo and maybe try the Cuban restaurant next door. That looked and smelt a lot better than everything we ate.

Yelp
Our tour bus just landed, so most of us decided to go here for lunch. For the rest of us, we waited for 15 mins. to get a table, and even sharing 6 per table. Which was good, we get to know others that way, from our tour. Two, actually a mom and daughter, from Roseburg! The T. B. C sandwich and side salad was perfect sharing for two. Toasted turkey breast, bacon, Cheddar melted open face sandwich on garlic butter house made bread was delish! The host directed us, before we were seated, where the cold water table, and the restroom for the ladies, and the men were. Our waiter was very accommodating, friendly, and got a well-deserved tip!

Yelp
The bartender was fabulous, a little snarky and a lot helpful. And the snark was much appreciated. But this is no ordinary saloon. The ambience alone brings it into the top level. When you factor in the amazing food, worthy of a standalone restaurant and a higher end, one at that, this saloon is a must visit. Don't just visit - eat and drink, it's worth it
google avatar

Jim F.

Yelp
Definitely a place you visit for the history not the food. Service was very slow but our server was very friendly. Food was decent but nothing special. Definitely worth the stop but now that we have done it don't feel the need to return.
google avatar

Keely C.

Yelp
We had to stop, because it's "legendary". We hit on a day or time with no food, the staff didn't seem to clear on when the kitchen was available or not. Okay, at least grab a drink in a kitch bar. Everything was sticky. The drinks were strong but not in a pleasant way. The ambiance is very entertaining as were the couple of other tourists excited to see it. The locals were mostly cold shoulders (no prob, we're not the most outgoing) but don't expect a "welcoming" bar.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
We stopped into the saloon on a warm summer day for a quick drink and enjoyed our time! It is very casual (they served beers in the can and water was serve-yourself) but it was perfect. Our server was friendly and quickly brought out our drinks and the check.

Eileen F.

Yelp
Great food very unfriendly staff. Cool decoration. yak burger and turkey open face sandwich yummy
google avatar

Mike K.

Yelp
The sign on the building that said "The Best Wild West Saloon in America" made me want to try it. It did not disappoint. We stopped in after having lunch next-door, and just had a drink. My son ordered a old-fashioned and I ordered a Manhattan on the rocks. But the bartender convinced me I ought to try the old-fashioned. It did not disappoint! It was spot on, and probably the best old-fashioned I've ever had, as it wasn't , too sweet. The bartender was friendly, attentive, and seem genuinely nice. The ambience is something to experience. Definitely a step back in time with many memories all over the walls. Almost like a Wild West museum. I would definitely stop again to try the food and of course for another wonderful old-fashion.
google avatar

Joe S.

Yelp
I get the hype but it's not worth the wait. This is clearly a tourist destination if you want to see dusty clutter in a dark place. Food was ok. I can now say been there done that.
google avatar

Kristy W.

Yelp
My husband and I came in last winter during Silver Dollar's weekly dinners and it was SO FRICKING GOOD. I had the mushroom bisque which was rich and creamy, it was definitely the highlight of the meal!

K A.

Yelp
We live in summit county and make our way up here often now to stop in and grab a drink and some wings.

Mark D.

Yelp
The food was very average. The service was terrible. The server added a 20% tip on our ticket for a group of 2. I would not recommend eating here. There are many better places, perhaps the trash can.
google avatar

Shaun G.

Yelp
The service was not great. The server who looks like Jeff Goldbloom acted like he did not want to be doing his job. Not a place that feels as welcoming as it should. This could be the staple place for Leadville, but the service and atmosphere are not. Needs some work
google avatar

Lynn A.

Yelp
Very cool venue. The photos, artifacts and bar are super cool. Our waitress, Emily, gave us a little pamphlet on the history of the saloon to read while we waited for the food to cook, and it was detailed and interesting. Our waitress was wonderful, personable and a great communicator. That being said, the place stinks!! The years and years of smoking are the first thing you smell, and the odor lingers on you until you wash your hair and clothes. It affects the taste of the food. Speaking of the food, it was good. We ordered eggs and potatoes/grits and toast. The grits took a very long time to make so the toast was cold and the butter didn't melt on it. Because the grits took so long, Emily didn't charge us for our soda (a locally made ginger soda). We are glad we went.

Yelp
After making the drive up to Leadville from Glenwood Springs, we had to stop into the famous Silver Dollar Saloon for drinks, appetizers, and football! The place was pretty empty around 2pm on a Sunday so we grabbed a table in the back near all the TVs. The beer came out quick and cold before we ordered some onion rings and wings. They were out of a couple of beers people were asking for but the server had backup options. The onion rings and wings were pretty good but nothing special. I'd say they were a tad better than your typical dive bar. Their menu had quite a few items on it and all of them seemed to offer more than your average bar. Overall, this place is exactly what you'd expect from a bar from 1879. You could sit and look at everything on the walls for hours. I'm not sure if we'd come back again if we found ourselves in Leadville but it's definitely worth a stop to say you did it.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is the 4th oldest bar in Colorado. And it's pretty cool inside. The staff was super friendly. I would recommend visiting this place

Tom M.

Yelp
Went in Wednesday during the day for lunch. I was served by a lovely little guy, quite odd, but charming somehow. I think his name was Andrew. Great food recs and service from him, hope they treat him well.

Yelp
Here from California traveling with my dog camping in my Tesla. Was told this place was worth visiting and I had a great time. Had a couple beers and a pizza and met the owner. Very nice dude. Looking forward to the next time.
google avatar

Marissa M.

Yelp
The hostess and our sever in the bar area was super friendly on Sunday! We love to come here when we visit!

Yelp
One of the best dinning experiences I've had here in Colorado. To start off, our server, Elizabeth, was fantastic. Like WOW. Above and beyond service. She also told us some cool fun facts such as the booth seating is from the train and the flooring is original from when the place was first built, which was in the 1800's. I got the elevation first cast IPA and my boyfriend got the Smokey whiskey and we truly enjoyed both. All the food was delicious, like seriously super tasty and fresh. You can tell they make everything in house by the quality of the food. The onion rings were my favorite and I don't even like onion rings LOL we also got the s'mores dessert and 10/10 for presentation and taste. I loved the ambience. There's games to play and a bar if you'd like to sit there inside of the booths or the tables. Make sure to check out the picture of the ghost on the wall ;-) We will definitely be returning and 100% recommend checking this spot out if you're ever in Leadville. We came around 2pm on a Saturday and service was extremely fast and attentive. Prices are relatively good for the amount of food you're getting too. Extremely impressed. I labeled the name of the items we ordered on the pictures :) enjoy!

Yelp
Fun, quirky and historic all rolled into one! Lots to look at from the second you step in the door. Friendly bar. Pool table and shuffle board table, too.

Zoe S.

Yelp
My friends spent a couple nights at this bar while in town and we had the best time! The staff was great!

Joseph N.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing old fashioned. Server was amazing and super chill best mountain vibes I have found in 25 years Kevin thank you stay fresh.
google avatar

Michael W.

Yelp
Most generous take on the service...inattentive. More realistic take...unfriendly and uncaring. From the moment our party of six walked in, it became clear they could give or take our business and nothing changed for the duration of our one round at the bar. Take a pass on this one.
google avatar

Rahul G.

Yelp
My wife, mother in law and I stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon. Great drinks, funny, entertaining bartender and great crowd. Not sure what others experienced but I recommend this place. The old fashioned and hot apple cider hit the spot! The bartender had been working here for 8 years! Such an awesome guy
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
We rambled into the Saloon on a Saturday afternoon and I was sold on the decor. Everywhere I looked, there was something else. It was so much to look at and just a lot of fun. One beer each, a root beer for me and we were headed out of dodge. Menu didn't catch our attention so we didn't try any food here. The service was a little lacking but this is a busy spot so you almost have to expect that. For a kitschy atmosphere, I'd say this is your spot. Very touristy and what you'd expect.
google avatar

Deanna O.

Yelp
Although I cannot vouch for the food as we did not eat here, I can tell you it's a really cool historic establishment.
google avatar

Jak K.

Yelp
In late July while on our way to Glenwood Springs, my wife & I stopped for lunch at the Silver Dollar Saloon and each of us had the Po-Boy Catfish sandwich. The catfish was decent, & we enjoyed it, but the décor was fascinating & great fun. We were seated in a booth in the bar, and interesting historical photos, stuffed animals, & bric-a-brac surrounded us on the walls. Even our booth originally came from an old railroad car. Service was good, too.
google avatar

Felix P.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick drink before leaving town because I had heard so much about the place. When you walk in you're met with tons of old school decorations which really make you feel like you're going back in time. I went midday so it was not very busy. Front of the bar has some seating and a pool table. The back has plenty of additional seating and a small stage. Did not try any of the food. Bar staff was attentive and there were plenty of drink options. Pool table is in a awkward position but other than that, definitely give this bar a visit. If you're looking for a place that will take you back in time with a chill crowd, this is it.

Yelp
Bucket list location! Since we are huge Jimmy Buffett fans. "Think I'll ride into Leadville and have a few beers"...So we stopped for a few beers at The Legendary Silver Dollar Saloon the other day. The staff was professional and very attentive. We sat at the bar for awhile and the bartender regaled us with stories about several of the artifacts in the bar as well as its history. She gave us a little pamphlet she had written about the saloon and of course pointed out the booth where Jimmy sat. We came back after several hours later after an UTV excursion and sat at a table in the back and ordered beers and some appetizers. Our server was really attentive and also very knowledgeable about the saloon. We talked about the amazing bar upfront and the mahogany it was made out of. Our appetizers were delicious too. We ordered wings, salmon cigarillos and onion rings. All were delicious!
google avatar

Chris P.

Yelp
Ambiance is super cool since it's a bar open from the 1800's. A must see if you're in the Leadville area for a day or two. Enjoy!
google avatar

Kate F.

Yelp
We thought this place was a hidden gem. It has some unique history with the Unsinkable Molly Brown who used to frequent the establishment. The food was really good, we got a combination of fried green tomatoes, smoked salmon Cigarillos, pork sliders, and the lamb French dip. The salmon cigarillos were my favorite. The place was really cozy as well. The service was just okay but definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
google avatar

Jenn O.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and talked to the manager and other staff about the history of the Silver Dollar saloon. I wasn't expecting much from pub food but the open face Turkey sandwich fed 2 of us and was delicious. A great spot to stop in for lunch if you're trying to soak up some history and craft beer

Yelp
On July 12th my girlfriend and I visited the silver dollar in Leadville CO around 1oclock. We stopped in for one drink each. I placed my ID on the counter, we definitely look under 50, and the bartender shoved it back and said "I didn't ask for that" my girlfriend who is also of legal age, was not ID'd, and ordered a salted caramel bird dog shot which was insanely over poured. (It was rang up on the receipt as a screwball, each drink 7 dollars, total 14) I ordered a single neat 10th mountain rye, which was correctly poured, but I guess if I was a woman I'd get more booze for free. Well turns out it wasn't for free...After viewing the menu and seeing another patron eat three bites of a meal and leave, we decided against food. Im posting these reviews everywhere because I checked my account Friday the 14th and noticed a 24 dollar charge on my card! For two drinks??? Obviously the short angry bartender with the napoleon complex modified my receipt and stole from me because I left the paperwork... Well guess what buddy? I photograph my receipts for people just like you! You sweating yet? I tipped the sour old man 3 dollars for 14 dollars of drinks, 17 total, that's still 20% (google "what to tip at a bar") and I didn't appreciate his demeanor. DO NOT GO HERE, I will tell everyone I know as a local fishing guide and Colorado native this story to ensure no one else has their money stolen from them. Shame on you guys, that bartender broke the law and should be fired. You keep the ten bucks though, ya'll clearly need it :) EDIT AFTER OWNER RESPONSE: I paid and signed for what I ordered and got charged more than that total days later, regardless of your pours. To highlight the review, I said mine was CORRECT, hence not wanting more "for free". lol but nice try making me look like the greedy one. I didn't take anything more than I was given, y'all on the other hand can't say the same. Maybe the cameras I saw above our heads at the bar would tell a better story for you regarding that equal amount? Thanks for the full refund (sent back before your Yelp reply) even though I didn't ask for it... tell me you fd up without telling me.. Amazing the "drinks level" was your takeaway from this, not the disrespectful/illegal act of changing someone's total after they sign for it. I didn't even blast you with the receipt pics yet! Assumed maybe a bit of honesty might be presented. O well. It's for my own posterity now. Cheers! Best of luck to you and Napoleon!

Yelp
50 STARS! This place freakin rocked my socks off. If you're looking for a luxury dining experience with high priced drinks, a**holes in suits, people complaining about their stocks and how their brand new BMW is having problems, DONT GO HERE! Aspen is waiting for you. This place is for the hard core dive bar lover who wants to get a nice glass of whiskey or a beer on the rocks with some BOMB food. I've been to Leadville a handful of times but never stopped in here until today. They had by far the best onion rings of my entire life. The wings are amazing as well!! Ah hell, we cleared all 4 plates of food. The pork belly sliders were probably my favorite food I've eaten in Leadville, and I will 110% be back again to try more food and pick up a game of pool. The ambiance is old timey and you feel like you're taken back to 1897 when you walk in the door. If the music is bad I don't think they'll take kindly to dueling this days so I'd probably just pick up a game of pool or shuffleboard if I were you. The server Elizabeth was knowledgeable about the restaurant history, recommended us great drinks, and was overall a 10/10 server. We will definitely be back, and with more numbers! Thank you guys for the great experience.

Mark L.

Yelp
Don't bother. I came in to just get a beer at the bar and was stopped at the front door with "Can I help you?" After saying "No, just here for a beer at the bar," I was told "you have to be seated at all locations, even the bar." Stunned (this hasn't happened on previous visits), I asked Why? and was told "There are several groups in front of you." Groups? Really? To sit at the bar? The 2 or 3 single (empty) seats I could see must be waiting for the "groups" to sit down first. If you simply want a cool beer, look elsewhere.
google avatar

Julia J.

Yelp
Love this place and all the cool history within! We had the smoked salmon cigarillos, pork belly sliders, chicken and waffles and the lamb French dip and all were delicious. The drinks were tasty and the staff is phenomenal.

Jane C.

Yelp
The food was excellent. I had the beet and peach salad. The place was very cool... very nostalgic!
google avatar

Amber S.

Yelp
Delicious food, worth the wait if it's busy. I love historic places and this one doesn't disappoint. I drive through here often and it's always a must stop! I always get breakfast!

Yelp
Visiting from out of town and figured this was one of the spots in Leadville you should check out before leaving (it is). Host was really cool about seating us even though kitchen was closing soon. Server was really nice and on top of things. Food though....the food though?!? Chicken. Fried. Yak. Don't ask questions, just order this and enjoy every bite. They were out of mashed potatoes so I went with the onion rings and hot damn, those are not your average onion rings. Not oily, onions are crispy, batter is tasty without being too flaky or bready. The yak was better than any other chicken fried steak I've had (sorry, grandma). The gravy makes everything on the plate even better. Even the green beans couldn't avoid being devoured. Aside from the food and service, the history of this place is really cool. Definitely spend some time looking around at all the photos and ask the staff about the history. I didn't get the chance, but I bet hanging out in the bar is fun too. This is definitely one of those places I'll be sad I don't have access to after heading home.

Daniel B.

Yelp
Our family walked in 3 adults and 3 teens. Hostess looked at me and said yes? I said well we'd like to eat. She immediately responded and said well we don't serve burgers and there is probably nothing on the menu for them."my teenagers" I said well we will try. Never got any refills and food was horrible. Way too salty my daughters waffle was even salted. Waited 45 min for food and over all experience was bad. Do not recommend
google avatar

Shreyas K.

Yelp
Great place, interesting decor. Service was slow as they were overwhelmed. Food was good!
google avatar

Philip M.

Yelp
Solid choice if you're in the area. Very limited menu but not just "bar food." Service is good but might be slow for some. The rustic booths have the dual result of being interesting and a bit uncomfortable.
google avatar

Eddie R.

Yelp
Stepped into the Legendary Silver Dollar Saloon and it was like stepping back into time - both in atmosphere and hospitality. We were warmly greeted by the bartender and seated promptly. Noticing we had our 5 yr old with us, he found a table for us close to a TV and graciously offered to put Frozen on for her. He even offered a choice of Frozen 1 or 2 and played it with volume up Great selection of Colorado brews and bourbons. Menu is somewhat limited due to their concentration on breakfast and brunch, but despite that the fare was excellent and hit the spot for our crew. Glad we finally had a chance to visit and will be back again.
google avatar

Yvonne H.

Yelp
Service was good, atmosphere was historical. We came here to see the history behind this saloon. Don't order specialty drinks. The various martinis were not good. Stick with the beer. Stick with the Appetizers and order food that doesn't require a lot of prepping. Fun to visit people were friendly.
google avatar

Ruth C.

Yelp
What a neat place this was. One of the oldest saloons around. Decor was fun to look at. Bar was old but had a great selection of liquor, wine, beer. The only downside: We wanted to eat at the bar, but were told we had to move to the dining room. Odd since the couple next to us was just served food.....? But we moved anyway and enjoyed a tasty lunch. Best part about it was the decor. Interesting place to visit if your out that way.

Dakota M.

Yelp
SPOILED FOOD. Beyond disappointed. They were out of green chilis for the "green chile poutine" and the kitchen refused to make the appetizer without green chilis but with everything else on them (garlic fries, cheese curds, pork, and egg). That wasn't even the disappointing part. I ordered the T.B.C., advertised as a sandwich with garlic bread, which arrived at my table without the garlic butter. My waitress kindly gave me garlic butter after I requested for some. All of that was fine and all but here is the final straw, and I have never left a negative review in my entire 28 years on this planet. For dessert, I ordered the chocolate hazelnut beignets. The whipped cream all over the plate was rancid and the beignets were stale. We asked our server if they added any lemon into the homemade whipped cream and she came back to tell us "There's isn't any lemon in it and that the kitchen said it might have tasted sour if we ate it with some of the blackberries on the plate." which we did not. The first thing I dug into was the homemade whipped cream. I told her that the dairy tasted like it had gone bad and spoiled and she replied with, "The kitchen says it tasted fine." It was apparent that the service and staff do not care about customers' health. Do not eat here unless you are hungry for disappointment and spoiled food. Feel free to snoop around the historic building, but do not waste your time or money at this establishment. Honestly it's my fault for thinking the food was going to be edible.

Yelp
Perfect pit stop on the way to aspen. Delicious & quick. Kevin took such great care of us! We ordered the California bahn Mi, fried green tomatoes, open faced chicken sandwich and burrata. Everything was soooo good. The burrata was delicious and we covered all of our dishes with the extras. Don't forget to order a Colorado beer as well. Such a charming spot, love the walls lined with history.

Yelp
It was like taking a trip back in time. Silver Dollar Saloon had solid service and a wonderful atmosphere. Where else can you hang out at a building that was built over 100 years ago. The main bar is absolutely charming and has so much history. PLUS, the prices are extremely reasonable.
