24 Best Hotels in Bali

"The handsome and distinguished Legian Bali, a classic five-star hotel, gets repeat guests galore. Hendra Hadiprana’s architecture might seem a little hard-edged and dated when you very first arrive past the high gates, but step inside and you'll be taken with the elegant teak antiques, parquet floors, and captivating art, all mapped out by the late interior designer Jaya Ibrahim. With a prime beachfront position, a show-stopping split-level swimming pool, and rolling gardens with tropical flowers, the grounds are all-out incredible. The 67 suites, grand as ever, follow suit with huge marble bathrooms with his-and-hers sinks, tubs and showers, and Acqua di Parma toiletries." - Chris Schalkx, Juliet Kinsman

The Legian Bali

"Set the scene for us. What's the general vibe here? The handsome and distinguished Legian Bali, a classic five-star resort, gets repeat guests galore. Hendra Hadiprana’s architecture might seem a little hard-edged and dated when you very first arrive past the high gates, but step inside and you'll be taken with the elegant teak antiques, parquet floors, and captivating art, all mapped out by the late interior designer Jaya Ibrahim. Is there a good story behind the place?Opened in 1996 by the late Indonesian businessman Robby Djohan, The Legian has since grown into Legian Hotel Management (LHM), a larger conglomerate. Still, the flagship has managed to maintain the feel of an independently owned hotel. You'll feel centuries-old heritage in a polished context. Got it. So how about the accommodations themselves—from the lobby design to the bedrooms and bathrooms? With a prime beachfront position, a show-stopping split-level swimming pool, and rolling gardens with tropical flowers, The Legian's setting is all-out incredible. The 67 suites, grand as ever, follow suit with huge marble bathrooms with his-and-hers sinks, tubs and showers, and Acqua di Parma toiletries. Across the road, The Club's 11 little villas, a favorite among honeymooners, have four-poster beds and outdoor bathtubs. Once you're settled in, you probably want a bit of a bite to eat. Anything good on site?Plenty of great options. If you like seafood, there's a fine-dining extravaganza on Fridays. Guests at The Club have their own poolside Lounge, which serves Indonesian dishes. How do the staff treat you?The service is flawless. Who else are you likely to see here?CEOs and their spouses and well-to-do families from all over the world. If we feel like venturing beyond the hotel grounds, what's the surrounding neighborhood like?Seminyak, for all its crowds and traffic, also has some world-class restaurants and shops. Is there anything you'd change? The management seemed a bit formal—possibly purposefully so. You mentioned surfing. What else is there to do here?Other fun amenities: a pristine beach, pools, a gym and spa and gym, a kids' club and babysitting services, an oyster bar, restaurants, room service, and Wi-Fi. Bottom line: Worth it? Why?This hotel's reliable quality and heritage hits the mark." - Juliet Kinsman

The Legian Seminyak (Seminyak, Bali) 6 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"On the beach at Seminyak is one of Bali’s most stylish hotels, the Legian. This is a more contemporary and urbane take on the Balinese resort, going easy on the island atmosphere with interiors that wouldn’t look out of place in a big-city boutique hotel. And though honeymooners are of course welcome, the Legian is a bit different in another way as well: an emphasis on public spaces means you may actually find yourself in contact with your fellow travelers, rather than simply holed up in your own private villa." - Tablet Hotels

Another perfect stay at this absolutely exclusive, beautiful and discreet property.|It’s only a 5 minute walk to the hustle & bustle of the Seminyak centre, and perfectly located. The gardens are beautifully maintained, as is the pool and every area of the property. The benefits such as afternoon tea and evening cocktails are truly lovely and make the stay even more wonderful. All of the staff are highly professional and always smiling. Whatever you need, they attend to it immediately. |The new General Manager, Mrs Lady, has made a positive impact and genuinely cares that her guests are enjoying a wonderful holiday. |Thank you very much The Club by the Legian for another memorable stay.

This was such a special experience. Something we would usually not do and we are so happy we did. The staff all of them especially Devi our butler made our time extra special they were so attentive. The privacy of the villa, with everything we needed was amazing. The villa and the gardens and pool was excellent and we loved all the cocktails, daily drinks that were part of the package. The food was exceptional. We can't recommend The Club By The Legian Seminyak Bali enough.

We had a wonderful stay at the Club by Legian. The pool villa was very well appointed, and the room itself very large and comfortable. My partner enjoyed feeding the koi in the villa's ponds each morning! We were looked after by Bona our butler, who made our stay so relaxing. We were taken over to the main hotel by buggy and we dined there several times- the pool area is lovely. Overall, we loved our slice of Bali paradise and wish we could have stayed longer.

Excellent experience. First of all we were not meant to stay here. We booked somewhere else but it fell through. We always wanted to experience The Legian. We stayed in pool villa 4. Beautiful decor and nice swimming pool. One of the best was the butler. Omg you get a personal butler who looked after us so well. His name is Bona. What a great person. He adjusted and booked our dinner reservations with ease. He also throughly explained the hotel benefits which are great. The advantage of the pool villa complex is that its private and you have access to the main hotel The Legian facilities such as the main pools and restaurants. Overall a great stay and we are planning our return next year.

During my stay at The Legian Seminyak, I had the chance to dine at their restaurant and try the special Rijsttafel Tuesday menu, which was an incredible experience. The presentation was beautiful, with a variety of authentic Indonesian dishes served in a refined, elegant style. The soft shell crab was the highlight for me — perfectly crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere was intimate yet relaxed, making it the perfect setting to enjoy such a memorable meal. It was truly a culinary highlight of my trip and something I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting.||One of the highlights was dining at their restaurant for the Rijsttafel Tuesday menu. The variety of authentic Indonesian dishes was amazing, and the soft shell crab was absolutely outstanding — a must-try!||The resort’s facilities are world-class, with three serene infinity pools overlooking the beach and a Technogym fitness center that kept my workout routine on track. Whether I was relaxing by the pool, enjoying the incredible food, or simply soaking in the peaceful atmosphere, everything was perfect. I can’t wait to return to this slice of paradise!

I could not recommend this hotel highly enough. Every single member of staff was truly exceptional, a real credit to the management. The hotel is beautiful, our room was perfect, not a single thing could be improved upon, and it was cleaned beautifully whilst we were there. The location is ideal, wonderful views to admire whilst enjoying the ambience of the hotel. Food and restaurant service were similarly fabulous. Not a fault. I would love to come back.

My husband and I had a fantastic experience at The Club by The Legian. We truly enjoyed a VIP experience for our honeymoon. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, paying attention to all the little details to make our stay special and memorable. Our pool villa was beautiful and very private. Although the hustle and bustle of Seminyak Square was just minutes away, the minute we entered The Club and our Villa, it was so quiet and peaceful. We loved exploring Seminyak and Ubud, but were always eager to come 'home' to our villa. ||The staff at The Club was so attentive and friendly. Our butler, Eka, really made our visit special. He enjoyed our chats with him and his recommendations for our visit. He really took care of us, from serving us amazing breakfast and afternoon tea, as well as keeping our Villa in tip-top shape. We enjoyed using the The Club Lounge and having breakfast and cocktails there. It was always calm and quiet and we felt it was a special space. On our last evening, Suta served us a beautiful candlelight dinner next to the pool and the food was prepared with all of our dietary concerns addressed, which meant a lot to us.||I can't wait to return to The Club someday. Our stay there as the highlight of our trip and the memories we had there will last us for years to come. Highly recommend!

I recently stayed at The Legian Seminyak and was blown away by its stunning beachfront location and breathtaking ocean views. My suite was incredibly spacious and beautifully designed, with a private balcony perfect for watching the sunset. The service was impeccable — the staff went above and beyond to make me feel truly cared for. I especially loved spending time at the serene infinity pool and indulging in the world-class spa treatments. It was a perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, and authentic Balinese charm — I can’t wait to go back.
