The Lenox Hotel

Wonderfully elegant hotel in a great location in Back Bay. The staff were marvelous and very welcoming. Our room was perfect and very spacious. We were upgraded to a room with a fireplace because it was a special birthday ending in a zero. The hotel is a historic building and it has been beautifully preserved. The beds are super comfy and the housekeeping staff left our room spotless every day. The guys on the door, particularly Mike, are very helpful, so please make use of them - and don’t forget to tip a few dollars. This hotel really made our holiday a special one in the beautiful city of Boston, one of the most friendly cities we've visited.

I absolutely adore this hotel. I have stayed twice now and each time I am treated with the upmost kindness and attentiveness by the staff. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms are beautiful. The hotel is extremely clean and classy with old school service and character. Such a wonderful place to stay!

ALWAYS a pleasure! This is one of our favorite hotels in Boston. We go every year at Christmas and enjoy a concert at Old South Church. We absolutely love the staff, the lobby, the comfy beds, the peace and quiet, and the filtered water with the elegant carafes. GREAT cocktails in the lounge or lobby. Old world charm meets modern flair. We have never had any kind of glitch staying here, and recommend it highly to visiting friends. It's very "Boston" and perfectly located near transport and things to do.

We have been loyal customers of the Lenox and its restaurants for a long time, and we couldn’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else. The hotel is beautiful, a rare independent gem with classic New England charm. You barely need to add any decor to the Dome Room because it is so stunning in and of itself! The food was incredible, and truly felt like it was straight from their delicious restaurants. Our guests raved about how much fun they had at our after party at the Irving. But what truly makes the Lenox have a special place in our hearts is its staff. From the people that greet you at the entrance, to the front desk staff, to all the bartenders and servers, everyone always has a smile on their face and will help you with whatever you need. A special shout out to our coordinator Katie, who could not have been more professional or kind throughout the process, from emailing with our planner, leading us through the tasting, and making a point to find us at the Lenox wedding showcase. Thank you for giving us the most incredible day!

Husband and I stayed here on a weekend trip to Boston. It was in the perfect location and we walked pretty much everywhere. The hotel atmosphere was adorable and the service was top notch! We will definitely be coming back. Many restaurants and bars around and a bar in the hotel.

My love letter to the Lenox Hotel. We calculated that over the past 25 years that we spent $250,000 at the Lenox and have lived here over 700 days. Let me explain: my husband‘s work was literally right across the street. On Boylston. When we first moved to Boston, I was living at the Lenox, like the Eloise books. We had moved here from Atlanta, for a three months stint (which turned into 10 years). We picked a room in the Lenox that faced his office, so when I called him, he could come to the window and we could see each other. It was important for his work that we live right across the street, because he dealt with time zones in other countries. This was 25 years ago, so no zoom calls then! So, he would just walk across the street at 3 o’clock in the morning. It was the most convenient place to live! Fast-forward: We have moved from Boston to North Carolina, but my husband needs to spend at least a week of every month at the Lenox… For decades…. Hence the 700 days of living there. Two weeks a year, I get to come up and be with him, and it is glorious! Sometimes we bring the children. Some fabulous Lenox memories in no particular order 1. When the children were three and five, they were able to come up to Boston with us. My husband told the front desk that the children would be with him this month, and they had free stuffed lions for us. They were thrilled! 2. Fire butlers! When I come up to visit, I try to plan it so that I am there for the holiday season, and fire butlers come up to the room and build a fire. I get to luxuriate in bed while my husband gets ready for work and a fire is built for me! So spoiled! 3. One year the Santa-speedo-race ran past the Lenox. 4. Using the Lenox as homebase, I can just run out of my room and straight to what used to be the Lord and Taylor! I wouldn’t even put on a coat (in December!) because I knew I’d run right back into the hotel and my cozy room. This way it was easier to shop without carrying a big winter coat and gloves and hat around. 5. Arriving late and having truffle mac & cheese delivered from room service. 6. Attending our nanny‘s wedding (she helped raise my daughter when we were living in Jamaica Plain) and taking a photo shoot of my daughter to compare the photos that she took at the Lenox 20 years later! 7. Sitting by the fire in the lobby and reading a book while I waited for my husband to come back to our room from a late night of work. 8. The way the Lenox smells when I enter the lobby. I bought a candle one year, but it did not quite work, but in 2025 I bought the room spray, and it is perfect! I wish I bought the atomizer when I was last there, because I do not see it online. 9. Our favorite rooms 500 508 512 523 10. Products: I’ve seen them move from Aveda to Kiehls and then from Kiehls to Beekman. And so forth... They are all high-end and wonderful. When Covid hit, they shut down the Boston office, so we do not get to Boston with as much frequency, but every time we do come up we try to stay at the Lenox, and it just feels…like…home. At a minimum, I will walk into the lobby, inhale the scent that holds 25 years and 700 days of memories, and get a drink in the lobby bar or breakfast in the lobby restaurant. Lots of photos taken over the years attached. I love you Lenox! Please put your room atomizer on line so I can purchase one!

I couldn’t help but leave a review. On Christmas Eve, while staying at the hotel, our children wondered how Santa would know our room number. I suggested leaving a note at the front desk for Santa—half as a joke (though the kids were very serious). When we returned from dinner, we found a thoughtful reply “from Santa” delivered to our room as a gift. The joy it brought to our children was unforgettable. We sincerely thank the staff for going out of their way to create such a special moment. This small gesture says a lot about how this hotel truly cares for its guests.

This hotel was everything you’d expect from a gorgeous, storied Boston hotel. Dark woods, luxe beds and bedding and impeccable service. Convenience abounds, in both location as well as on-site restaurants. A deep closet for clothes, luggage and a mini fridge was a lovely find, and the hotel staff was exactly as it should be - attentive, genuine and friendly. For an old hotel, they’ve done a fantastic job keeping it both updated and classic at the same time. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Beautiful older Boston hotel perfectly situated in the heart of the Back Bay at the Boston Marathon finish line. But what really makes the stay 5 stars is the staff. From the engaging valet to the doorman sweeping heavy bags inside with ease to the welcoming check-in desk staff to the fabulous cleaning team keeping both the hotel and our room sparkling, everyone was at the top of their game. Lots of little surprises if you allow time for them- from the Lindor chocolates on the bed (store is next door) to the hidden water refilling machine in the hall to the morning tea and coffee service in the lobby to the beautifully painted stairwells, it's obvious that thought has gone into every element of the guest's stay. It wasn't our usual spot in Boston but will be moving forward. Definitely one you should put on the list if you're looking for a guest-forward experience for you next stay in beantown.

Lovely boutique hotel in The Back Bay area of Boston. Close to the best shopping in Boston; Newbury Street and The Prudential Center. Super friendly staff, beautiful hotel. A place where you are made to feel important. I cannot say enough good things about my stay!

I booked the Lenox for a weekend stay in Boston, I was running the Boston half marathon in November and wanted a location close to Copley square to catch the run bus. Check in was easy and fast. They have an app for digital key which was easy for me as well. I was upgraded to a mini suite and it was a pleasant surprise! Walking in was a closet with the mini fridge and a soft robe. In the room, which was very spacious with a comfy sofa, also a desk, and a large comfy bed. To the right was a non operable fire place, and the bathroom, complete with a large soaking tub. Perfect. The icing on the cake was some chocolates from Lindt! Check out was super easy as well, and they stored my bag for me while I went to brunch down the street. This would be a great location for staying at the Boston marathon as well.

For quite a while this has been my favorite Hotel Bar in Boston but I hadn't stayed here yet. We had a EXCELLENT time. We were able to get such a luxurious experience for such a good price and the holiday decorations are just lovely .

Don't let the stodgy decor deter you. This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The lobby even smells great. I loved the water situation, with the carafe in the room meant to be filled in the hallway. That water was delicious. The service is unparalleled from every single employee, and after doing a little recon, I found out they're treated well by the owners. Five stars, hands down, no notes.

Great place to stay. Convenient to a lot of shops and restaurants. Has a nice bar inside to relax and have a night cap.

This Hotel is great. All the staff that work here are wonderful, Nice, respectful. During Boston Marathon weekend they go all out for their guests especially if they are participating in the race! They have three restaurant's in the hotel lobby area. All are great and I have been to all them many times. The rooms are nice though sometimes I do find things here and there that are wrong with them. But it is not every time I stay here. Some of the larger rooms have fireplaces that a hotel staff member can turn on for you if asked. I 100% suggest a stay here.

This is where you want to stay. That is really the review you want, right? It is perfectly located to wherever you want to go or do. It is clean and is a classic upscale hotel. It is not a new modern place, know that. It is not an old candy in grandmas purse. It is not trying to be new and trendy. It is class and elegance. The rooms are well designed and updated. For the money this is absolutely your best option.

Our stay was fabulous! From being able to offer early checkin to friendly staff, I'd highly recommend this hotel. Normal check in was at 3pm and they had a room ready around 8am so I could sleep off the jet lag. They have complimentary local coffee in the lobby which I was able to grab on the way up to the room. You need to use your key card to access the elevator which was a bit slow and hard to access if busy times. Once in the room, you are greeted by a bag of Lindt truffles and a sanitized remote. Watch out the doors on some of the rooms over weirdly and are quite heavy. Beds are comfortable but a bit firm. The tv offered all the major channels and the ability to use Google Chromecast. Staff was super accommodating as we requested a two bed room which they could accommodate with ease. They were also able to switch the credit cards on the rooms with ease as well. They tend to book up with weddings sometimes which makes it difficult to eat in hotel restaurants without a reservations. I do wish that they had let us know that all the restaurants were booked for private events or saved spots for other hotel guests on the outskirts.

Beautiful hotel with a friendly and helpful staff! We needed to switch our reservation from one bed to two at the last minute and they were able to switch it seamlessly! Plus, one member of our party arrived before the others and they were able to confirm over the phone that she was with our party. The valet was incredibly convenient and assisted with our luggage, and the room was comfortable and clean. The free coffee in the morning was tasty, and what other hotel gives cute little treats in the room! Would definitely spend the money to stay here again the next time I am in Boston. My only complaint is - the front desk should have given us a heads up that two out of three restaurants in hotel were reserved for events. We scrambled to find a place to eat at the last minute because of it,

My wife Victoria and I had our wedding reception here at the Lenox this past Saturday Oct 7th. Our ceremony was right down the street at St. Cecilia's. I cannot express how awesome our entire experience was having our wedding reception here. From the valet staff, to the bellhops, to the waiters during the event, to the coordinator Alison, EVERYONE went so far above and beyond what I expected I was completely blown away. We didn't have to think twice about any issues as before I could even bring it up they were already addressing it without asking. Alison was the star that day. I had a mishap with my tuxedo jacket button and Alison volunteered to sew that button back on, along with helping to attach the boutonnière to my jacket. When we woke up the next morning after spending the night in the beautiful Back Bay Suite, we found all of our decorations and flowers neatly packaged back on up on carts ready to be taken down to our vehicles. When that time came, I didn't have to lift a single finger, the staff handled every single last box down to and into our car. Also a huge shoutout to our photographer Alysha with Life Through a Shutter photography. I didnt see her much that morning (she was photographing my wife and the men had their own shooter) but when I did come across her she was always doing something way outside her responsibilities. She was helping with candles and building centerpieces at one point! I cannot recommend her enough! To summarize, The Lenox hotel provided us with an incredible experience for our wedding night from top to bottom. Extreme professionalism and flexibility to our requests. I firmly believe that if you are shopping for a wedding venue in Boston that you will not find a better one than here at The Lenox.

What an exceptional stay in Back Bay. As others have said, the location is hard to beat, but it is the staff that shines. A few days ahead of our arrival, one of the concierges (Beverly) reached out to me via email to see if she could help with anything. As we had a special weekend planned for my wife's birthday, I took her up on the offer. She helped arrange flowers to our room, and she and the rest of the staff made sure everything was perfect for our stay. This is an old hotel and we had a room with a fireplace. They offer fire lighting during your stay, and the staff comes to your room, and lights a nice little fire for you, restocks it as needed, etc... We also purchased the "hot cocoa and smores" package which was a fun add on. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was great and fairly priced, fresh hot coffee available in the lobby, and the valet, bell staff and front desk were all so nice. One of the nicest hotel stays we've had, highly recommended

I would give it 4.5, but I don't have that option. Here are some highlights. Communication - second to none. Prior to check-in, we received numerous messages regarding our stay, app-based check-in, etc. The FAQ page on the website is very helpful with regard to parking, etc. Front Desk - incredible pleasant and helpful with check-in (quick and easy), restaurant recommendations, etc. Lobby - quaint, historic, clean...a highlight of the stay. Same for the elevators. Rooms - spacious, clean, quiet. Very pleased with the amenities, including the bed and pillows. Value - we went over Labor Day weekend. The prices were really high; we reserved two rooms (one for the boys) and the 2 queen bed room was higher priced than the one king bed room. I think value is the detracting part of the stay. Overall: highly recommend.

The Lenox is my home away from home when I'm visiting Boston for work. I can almost always check in early and the staff is always extremely personable and professional. Some the of the rooms are huge or have fireplaces, and you're always greeted with Lindt chocolate or a bottle of wine in the room.

Had a staycation here recently and enjoyed it very much. The staff are all friendly and helpful, the rooms have old school charm but are comfy. Only downsides are the sound proofing between hallway and rooms is almost non existent, and not much sound proofing on windows either. Old building that could use some modern upgrades, otherwise great!

The Lenox Hotel has the best customer service I have ever experienced - truly! The bed is very comfy, there is a great fan in the room, a radio, a beautiful bathroom and great views in every room. I stayed one night for business, and they hosted our meeting on their second floor. The food catered for the meeting was delicious for breakfast and lunch. At every interaction, there was some sort of customization for our party. I could not recommend this boutique hotel more!

We had the "Cool Hand Cuke" which was really refreshing on a warm day. The setting is lovely, intimate. We'll be back for more!

Beautiful hotel - we went around Christmas time so it was decorated nicely. Check in was easy and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Free coffee in the lobby every morning (I think from 7-10am) was tasty... there are several food options tied into the hotel but the Irish pub had some of the worst customer service - again, doesn't reflect on the hotel at all. I'd most certainly stay here again!

I was at the Lenox this past weekend for my daughter's wedding. I was blown away with the service from everyone . From the Valets out front, front desk , restaurant staff and everyone else in between. But the biggest shout- out and standing ovation goes to Allison and Emily and their entire staff. They handled everything and anything with the highest level of professionalism . They handled every little detail bigot small flawlessly. The cocktail hour was even ready to go 15 minutes early. The food was delicious and I see how Victoria and Chris had a hard time narrowing down choices . Dinner was the same way, everything was cooked to perfection . I also liked how they saved the best for last. Knowing that the bride and groom were taking pictures . They catered to their time frame with a private server who was at their table the whole time. I spoke with people at every table and the group consensus was this is the best wedding ever!! I have to say Alysha and Pablo- the photographers- amazing! Not only created whatever photo shots they wanted , while they were waiting they helped set up food and flowers and helped people get ready! Sooo professional all the way through the whole day! I can only say to the Lenox Hotel and everyone else involved with my daughters wedding on Oct 7th, if I could give you six stars I would! Thank- you for everything.

Everything here was top notch. Location can't be beat(and Luke's Lobsters is next door). It's a beautiful building (check out the stairwell!)! Service was friendly, prompt, and overall great. Small details are all addressed with thought and care, such as filtered water carafe in the room, Bluetooth speaker clearly named with room number, robes and slippers, etc. They even have 24-hour room service for late arrivers. Highly recommend!

Worst experience in a hotel! It is old, extremely dated & dirty!! We checked in on Christmas Eve & paid extra for a room with a fireplace. After we arrived I asked about Christmas Day dining options. She informed me that all 3 restaurants were closed. They had given the staff the holiday off. I informed her that it would have been nice to inform their customers ahead of time so we could have planned accordingly & decided if we wanted to stay there. Upon entering the room it looked old, very dated and the couch looked dirty & 40 years old. I didn't want to sit on it. We decided to make the best of it and sat on the bed. After dinner, I got the robe and slippers out to relax. The slippers were used, dirty & worn out. At that point we decided we would check out the next day & find another hotel. We booked the Fairmont at Copley Square for approximately the same price. So glad we did... it is fabulous!! There was also, a rubber band on the floor & large stains on the chair. The manager was supposed to call me the next day and never called. Don't waste your time & money if you want a quality hotel... The Lenox is not your spot.

The people who work at The Lenox are absolutely fantastic!!! From the minute you drive up to the door, your Lenox experience will exceed your expectations - the venue space, people, food, people/Alison, hotel rooms, people...I'm sure you get it. We hosted my daughter and son-in-law's micro-wedding there this weekend; And it was magical. I can't thank everyone at The Lenox enough. And hope others will consider hosting a special function at the Lenox.

I was married here a few years ago and people still rave about the party. Have been back a few times for dinner and brunch. Incredible location, staff and atmosphere. All dining options were great!

Love! Love! Love! Walking into the lobby of this hotel felt like walking into a heavenly oasis. After being greeted by the doorman, and walking through the door, the aroma of fresh flowers fills your nose. Then you're greeted yet again by the friendly bellman. From having a drink at the bar & chatting with the staff to enjoying the plush robes & being treated with chocolate at turndown service, everything about this hotel was fabulous. I definitely feel at home here.

The Lenox hotel is definitely a centrally located hotel that has a mixture of old charm and modern conveniences. The check in was smooth but not super warm- no one asked to bring up our bags or anything of that nature. The lobby is beautiful and elegant, definitely picture worthy. They have free coffee downstairs, including a nitro cold brew which was so awesome. They also have 2 bars and one restaurant onsite. Supposedly they did room service but we saw no menu in our room to call and order anything which was a bummer. Hotel hallways are a bit spooky and old looking and the room we had was small but did the job. My biggest issue was the bathroom was tiny- not much they can do about that at the end of the day but if you were two larger people, it would be impossible to navigate that bathroom. A little pink mold in the shower and the toilet paper roll touches your hip while sitting on the commode were my other issues with the bathroom. Products they used were nice though. Bed was comfy, nice TV, and we had a great night sleep. The staff outside were super friendly and helpful always. They did give me a nice cake for my birthday so I appreciated the gesture :)

Top notch staff including the doorman, valet, bellman, security, housekeeping, restaurant and front desk. This hotel does a great job providing service that hotels should provide. For a high end hotel, lots of nice extras like complimentary water in room, complimentary hot choco in the evenings, cookies at front desk and coffee service. Keep doing this Lenox! Don't let accountants tell you to stop with the extras. Business travelers like me love this. Room was large and comfortable. Even had a real fireplace. I think that may be a service they provide. City Bar, Irish Bar and Restaurant are all good. Really don't have to leave the property.

Having stayed at a couple other hotels in Boston, I give Lenox a 5-star. The exterior is as inviting as the interior. The lobby is warm, classy, and beautiful. The room and bathroom are clean. It's large enough for three adults. The Lenox is one block away from Newbury street, which is a popular shopping, dining, and entertainment district. It has many upscale shops like Lululemon, Allbirds, Patagonia, etc... World-class service from doormen to front desk. There is no need to look for a better hotel in Boston. This hotel is the best.

Checked into the Lenox Hotel when we arrived in Boston. We walked up to the front counter and spoke with Jenna. Jenna was super helpful and professional. I don't know how she pulled it off but she was able to upgrade us to a bigger room with a much better view of the city. We made it up to our room and sure enough, the view of the city was amazing!! Jenna definitely hooked us up! The room was big, comfortable, and cozy. The bathroom wasn't very good but the water pressure from the shower head was amazing (that's usually a problem with my showers at hotels for us). The hotel was beautiful in and out, and was in the middle of Downtown Boston. I recommend anyone coming to Boston to give the place a look, you won't be disappointed!!! Great job Lenox!!

The reviews are great for this historical hotel but I was underwhelmed. I'm on my second night of three and so far my bill is $2100! We've paid for food in cash. It's in a great location, in the heart of Boston. Very convenient. The staff is lovely. The rooms leave much to be desired. We booked a Queen plus room with a fireplace to the tune of almost $600 per night. I never mind spending the money if the service is good. My room is old looking and drab by snd quite frankly a bit depressing. It's clear it hasn't been renovated in quite some time. The mattress is very worn and soft. They call themselves a boutique hotel which I usually love but not sure I could recommend unless location is key and you can't find another place. Not horrible but not worth almost 2 grand. The bar is cute and so is the cafe where we ate breakfast. No complaints there

Service is great as is the location but this hotel is so old!!! Stayed here a week. At first was put off by how old it is and it is OLD. But the customer service and friendliness are top notch. So I would like to give it 3.5 stars. Rooms are dark. Sooo many things to do around here.

Beautiful setting and amazing staff! The best hotel staff I have ever encountered. Attentive to all of our needs during our stay. Thoughtfully remembered we were celebrating a special birthday and sent up a complimentary dessert and sweet note. Will recommend the hotel to anyone locally or from far away looking to stay in Boston. The restaurants and bar on the property have delicious food and well made cocktails.

We had a girls night out. We loved it here! From the time we walked in Maddie was there to take our picture in front of the Christmas tree. We were just going to have a drink but she was so great, helpful and so nice that we decided to stay for dinner. She checked on us all night and really made our time there so great! Dinner was perfect and the drinks were good. Thanks so much Maddie, you made our night!!

I went here for my 24th birthday using the Staycation package and it was great value for money! Free chocolate and parking was a good bonus and the late checkout was definitely appreciated. I let the hotel know it was my birthday ahead of time and there was a nice little birthday cake treat in the room that made me feel special. I would also like to personally shout out Alison and Dave from the front desk who wrote me a very kind handwritten birthday note and gave me extra chocolate. Had a great time, would recommend!

Our favorite hotel in Boston! The Lenox is beautiful and conveniently located, steps away from many great Restaurants on Boylston St. The valet sometimes takes forever, despite following their instructions to text message when you need your car. City Bar is convenient for cocktails (which are tasty and strong) and City Table is fine for brunch. The penthouse suite is amazing and a must splurge!

We were happily surprised at how close the hotel is located to everything we wanted to see in Boston. Once we parked our car with the valet, we walked everywhere. The check in process was a breeze and everyone greeted us with a smile and a good mood. Our room exceeded our expectations and even included a wood burning fireplace! The beds and linens were exceptionally comfortable and I appreciated that there was zero scent of laundry detergent or fabric softener. The bathroom was spacious and we both loved the water temp and pressure of the shower. Plus, best of all, we hardly heard a single noise throughout our stay. Very, very quiet. I'll review the restaurants and bars tomorrow.

Our first stay at the Lenox. Great room ( upgrade for no additional cost), very friendly helpful staff, and enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant there. One small annoyance that was a surprise, given the prestige and the cost(!). This is specifically about the toilet in the room. Not sure if is just an issue in our room(914) or a general one in the hotel. 3 issues: (1) the toilet seat is NOT user friendly for a guy. I had to hold up the toilet seat every time I stood in front of the commode. Otherwise....ouch! (2) t.p. roll is mounted in a very awkward location when seated on the commode.. We had to seriously twist our backs to access the paper. (3) the flush button is mounted in a spot behind the commode. Difficult to reach, and hard to push. I know, I know....but the devil is in the details, isn't it?

I love The Lenox! Just had a quick stay at the hotel and such a great experience. The staff couldn't be more friendly, attentive and over the top helpful. My room was in great condition, extremely clean and comfortable. The Lenox is in the heart of the back bay and has great restaurants on site and City Bar is an incredibly intimate bar/ lounge that is very comfortable. If you stay at the Lenox, you will have a great experience and the location puts you in the heart of the Back Bay on Boylston Street and allows you to explore the city walking all around back bay, newbury street, public gardens, Boston Common....etc etc. The Lenox is a treat!

This review is specifically for events like a holiday party or rehearsal dinner. Stay away! Before I explain the lack of service, execution and professionalism that was shown for our rehearsal dinner, let me tell you I have never been compelled to write a single negative review on anything in my life. But given how bad of an experience this was, I want to warn any future couples before making a decision to host their event here. To begin, I went back and forth with Taylor via email for over 3 months planning this event. I very thoroughly went through all details and questions with her. After feeling like my wife and I did our due diligence and covered everything with her, the execution fell flat. 1. After 3 months, you'd think the planner on the hotels end would show up even for five minutes just to greet the couple. Not only did she not show, she didn't make us aware she wouldn't be there, no one greeted us (the to be bride and groom, hosts of the event) and she didn't give us a point of contact. When there were issues, which you'll read about below - we didn't know who to talk to. 2. MOST IMPORTANT - There was ONE server for 62 people. Never once told this would be the case. This poor server couldn't get more than a quarter of the way into the room before her passed apps were gone and she had to go back to the kitchen for more. When she got back from the kitchen, she'd only be able to get to that same quarter of the room again until the food ran out. And the cycle continued. The way the room is laid out, there's a bottle neck which meant three quarters of the room didn't see any food for the first hour. People were starving and pissed. Quite embarrassing as the host. It wasn't until I suggested she walk around behind the bar and bartender to the other side of the room that anyone on that side of the room was served. There were plenty of other terrible misses, didn't switch from open bar to cash bar when we talked about, took forever to calculate the bill, not nearly enough hangers for coat racks in the middle of the winter, bathrooms closed 3 times with no back up ones available, they didn't have our playlist we sent in advance, poor attitude from staff, but at this point it's just getting wordy. After giving them this feedback, politely in an email, I was given a very empty apology, a bunch of excuses and they offered to comp dessert which was a whopping 7% of the total bill for the night. Avoid this place at all costs, decor is cool, food is hit or miss depending on the menu item but the service is terrible. Spend the extra money to go to some of the higher end places in the area.

We stayed here for my birthday weekend, so we splurged a bit. I was expecting The Lenox Hotel to be as prestigious as it is marketed to be; unfortunately, it was the opposite. The only thing it has going for it is the old time aesthetic. The beds are rocks. My back hurt the whole weekend. I ended up being allergic to the amenities; THEY HAD NO ALTERNATIVE (except for the body wash). My face broke out into hives and there was nothing they could do as far as amenity replacement; they also didn't offer a hypoallergenic room in case I was allergic to something else in the room. The app they have you download to Chrome Cast doesn't work; we had to manually hook up our laptop. The oysters in City Bar had rocks in them. It was a nightmare. There are SO many hotels in Boston..save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else. If you're curious about the Lenox like I was, just go into the bar for a cocktail and look at the pretty lobby...then stay at a nicer hotel.

I don't stay in Boston too often, as I live only an hour and a half away in Connecticut, but when I do, I'll make sure to stay here. The Lenox somehow manages to feel both charmingly "old-school Boston" and modern at the same time. The service was exceptional, from being greeted by the valets to checking in at the front desk. Our room wasn't quite ready when we got there, so the employee at the front desk brought me down to the hotel's Irish pub and arranged for drinks for me and my daughter on the house while we waited. (Not that we would have minded waiting by the warm fire in the lobby.) Our room was great...again, felt very contemporary and updated, with a great view of Boston. And you can't beat the location -- from The Lenox, you're just steps away from so much to see and do. We easily walked to Newbury Street, the Boston Common and lots more. Highly recommended!

BUT....Make sure you receive a room on the Boylston or Exeter Street side as there will be construction being done on the building next door which will not be done until the end of of April.

Absolutely fell in love with this hotel as soon as we entered the door! Decorated for the holidays and the fireplace going! Staff is so friendly and accommodating! The front desk have such great dinning recommendations around town! The bar downstairs made us expresso martinis to take up to our room! After a night out on the town we ordered the soft pretzel with cheese it was to die for!!! They also let us have a little later check out which was so nice! Our view was so pretty as well and room was very clean and nice!

Stayed at The Lenox for a wedding and just had a fantastic experience. From our arrival and being greeted by the gentlemen in front of the hotel, to check-in, to the wedding food and service, everything was fantastic. The room was lovely. The bathroom a tad small, but it was ok. I did get to visit other people's rooms and found theirs to be much bigger than mine. Totally fine, as I was traveling alone and didn't need much space. I love the list of items available at a moments notice. It's also the best smelling lobby. Definitely worth splurging a bit for a boutique experience in a fantastic location.

Review was a little overdue, we visited in summer. Amazing boutique hotel in a great location. Close to amtrak, nice restaurants in the neighborhood, and close to Cambridge. Check-in was great and easy. The staff was super-friendly. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. Concierge service was helpful! Good size rooms and a beautiful lobby with a couple of restaurants in the building. Overall we had a great experience and highly recommend!

Love this hotel and this restaurant. The staff is so nice, you know you will have a lovely time whenever you're here. The location ia great and those fireplaces make for such a relaxed and cozy experience.

Copley Square is my favorite areas in Boston. Born and raised in the south shore, I've had the great pleasure of exploring almost every area of Boston, and hands down - Copley is my favorite. I typically love to stay at the Westin right up the street from the Lenox. It was one of my best friend's 35th birthday and she decided to celebrate in Copley. We were going to see a concert at the Blue Bank Pavillion in Seaport. A friend of the birthday girl's was able to make a reservation at the Lenox for us. She works there and helped coordinate everything. S/O to Al! Another friend, who happens to be in the hospitality field, worked with the Lenox to get us a great room and a great experience. Everything is so classy and fancy upon arrival. The place itself carries a very dark and moody vibe. I got there a little bit early and was able to easily leave my bags with the concierge while I waited for my friends to arrive. Everyone was so incredibly kind. At first Sara took my bags and she told me I probably could check into the room early if I wanted. I said there was no need since my girlfriends weren't there yet but it was nice to have the option. When I came back to actually check in, Micheal helped me and after a few times going back-and-forth with whose name was under the reservation, we finally discovered that it was my own! That was hilarious! He gave me a set of keys and I was on my way. You do need the key to go anywhere in the elevator. The room was nice. Spacious and with a beautiful view of Boston. Of course, since we were going to a concert we really didn't spend too much time in the room. They were lovely enough to have a handwritten card written to me, in my name. How lovely! I was having so much fun already. We also ordered a bottle of Prosecco up to the room. That kind of took forever so we had to call down and check on the status. Shortly after we called, it appeared right away. We enjoyed some music and glasses of champagne and we were on our way! We slept very comfortably that night and we were out by about 10 AM! The Lenox is settled into a perfect area where you can walk to so many amazing things. Great restaurants, Newbury Street has tons of shopping, and you're pretty central to a lot of things in Boston. Overall, I love this experience and I can't wait to return! Five stars, bravo!

From the immediate upgrade to my room down to the umbrellas handed to me without a request. This hotel left me longing for someone to tuck me in!

GREAT location for a hotel. I loved how conveniently close it was to everything, like the train station (Copley Square), delicious restaurants like Luke's lobster, salty pig, parish cafe and shopping malls like the prudential and Newbury street! The hotel decor and ambience is beautiful! Room sizes are decent, restrooms are a little small, but overall very comfortable! Love coming in every night to a clean bedroom with caramel candy on my bed, FREE water, and restocked toiletries. One of my favorite things were their dispensable shampoo and conditioner boxes! At other hotels, I always use it up fast! I hate having to ask for more to be restocked because of the small mini portioned bottles they offer.. My hair needs more! Here they have it all in a medium sized dispenser! You bet I used more than a small bottle every night! My hair needs to be conditioned!! I loved it! It was so easy and accessible. They also offer a lot of other travel items, snacks, and games if you forget to bring anything. They're free!! There should be a list somewhere in your room! Don't hesitate to ask! Great stay! You definitely won't be disappointed.
