The Library Food Club | Peruvian

This is a magical, romantic little restaurant. Great for an intimate date night. The new Peruvian menu has some niggles that can be ironed out. The Cerviche lacked punch and acidity. The lamb shank was over salted. The Dulce De Leche cake would benefit from a drizzle of some evaporated milk/thinned condensed milk to make it more reminiscent of a Tres Leches cake. On its own it was a bit dry. Nothing that can’t be elevated to a better rating. Will be back to see how this menu progresses.UPDATE: Charge issue resolved my owner swiftly. Greatly appreciated.

My partner and I visited this restaurant for my birthday and wow - 10s across the board. No notes. The service was excellent, we were running quite late and they still held our table which was greatly appreciated. We were welcomed by our waiter and the host who introduced us to the menu and the restaurant - Very informative and he had really great suggestions. The atmosphere was perfect, it’s so low-key and I felt very safe there. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very on theme. The food was delicious, we ordered the five starters to share option and this gave us a gave us an opportunity to taste of range a food while still leaving quite full. You can really tell that great attention was paid to detail in creating the menu. I will definitely visit here again – please go if you’ve been thinking about it! I’d suggest booking in advance as space is limited.

Waited a while to get a reservation and we were not disappointed. From the moment you enter through a bookshelf door, down the stairs onto the secret library. The staff are attentive, the food was delicious and I enjoyed our micktails. The manager Dean made recommendations on what to order and we really enjoyed these. The complimentary guacamole has to be one of the best iv had. What an absolute delight.

It was my first time here, And i must say the entrance to the venue is pretty cool. The service is amazing as well from staff being very attentive to us and our orders and the complimentary snacks was awesome, until we actually ordered from the menu. I was left a bit dissapointed in the hype of the menu to what was served, we ordered the trio of tacos (Birria Tacos, Line Fish and pulled pork) and I must say the food needed seasoning, The presentation of the meals are great. All in all its a great concept, just the food needs to be a bit more in terms of taste.

We booked months in advance and were wowed by the unique concept, great service, and fantastic drinks. The guac was amazing, and the mini tacos were packed with flavor. Unfortunately, the rest of the food didn’t live up to the hype. Great spot for small bites and vibes—but not a full dinner experience.

If you are looking for an unique experience, this is the place. From walking through a bookcase, then down a flight of stairs into a beautifully curated restaurant of antique furniture, Persian carpets, books, art, and bronze palm lampshades, to the perfect lighting that sets the mood, my senses were overjoyed. The host comes to each table and goes through their menu, which is helpful because they have a wide selection of options. I can’t remember the names of what we ordered, we just picked and waited. Let me tell you, everything was delicious and tasty. Fillet was soft and the pork was tender, all the ingredients on the plate came together so perfectly, it was so tasty 🤤. Service 10 Ambience 10 Food 10 Music 10 Decor 10 My husband and I throughly enjoyed ourselves.

Absolutely a must!!!!! The food, the service, the interesting drinks, the theme.... It all just comes together perfectly!! Really big thumbs up!

I really loved the Mexican menu and was hoping the Peruvian one would be equally authentic and tasty, while remaining innovative. The pisco sour was lovely to start of and was the highlight of the meal. Ceviche is the most famous dish out of Peru and this version disappointed- we got the “ceviche stone” which was 6 tablespoons of poorly cut fish with zero citrus taste, drenched in avocado and some corn. Frankly the price for this was shocking and on top of everything didn’t taste fresh. The pork belly was tough and could have done with some more cooking, the beans that came with tasted like baked beans from a can. The chicken skewers lacked spice and char. The three filets were well cooked and the sauces were good, although reminded one more of Argentinian food. The shrimp with hominy was a star in terms of flavor and innovation too bad there were only about 6 small shrimp in the dish (not ok for a main). I hope they can get on some help in the kitchen to make sure it matches the decor and hype
