Amazing oat latte. Perfect ratio of espresso to oat milk, and the right beans for latte. If you like your lattes foamy, you will love this one. Barista was extremely friendly. Overall just a good experience <3

Recommend: Pour-over with house vanilla syrup and milk – lovely soy-honey aftertaste, though a bit pricey at around $10. Also good: Cappuccino – balanced and smooth. Skip: Cold brew – too bitter for my taste.

[Matcha review only] Veeeery underwhelming matcha latte with a disappointing price tag. I ordered a standard iced matcha latte with less sugar at The Library and the total came to almost $9. I don't usually order matcha outside because of how pricey it is nowadays, but I was craving it and now I'm regretting it. The matcha is so incredibly faint, it honestly just tasted like I was drinking milk. The staff were so incredibly nice, but the matcha latte was just not it. I'd maybe come back and try their coffees since that's what they're known for, but there is a Matcha Matcha across the street if you specifically want a matcha latte!

I always get the coffee and matcha here, and they’re amazing! Both drinks taste great and give me the perfect boost to stay energized and focused throughout the whole day at work. Definitely one of my go-to spots 🫠

For those in the Dundas area toward the AGO, The Library is a great place for a good coffee and a quick snack. The cafe is small, but offers excellent service and a great selection of coffees and quick snacks, such as cookies, cakes, and more. It can be accessed via the St. Patrick subway exit and several subway lines. The location is wheelchair-accessible, allowing for entry by customers with disabilities. It also has a spring-operated door. It's worth adding to your list of good places for quality coffee.

The Library has excellent coffee with beautiful pour-overs and delicious espresso-based drinks. The vibe is very cool; the space has a very small amount of seating and more of a to-go situation, but the staff are friendly. It reminds me somewhat of a coffee shop in Japan. I think that The Library serves up the best flat white in town, so if a milk based drink is what you’re looking for, look no further.

The Library serves some of the best coffee in the city, with beautifully crafted pour-overs and excellent espresso-based drinks. The vibe is minimalist and cool—more of a grab-and-go spot with limited seating, but the friendly staff make it welcoming. It actually has a bit of a Japanese coffee shop feel, which I loved. Their flat white is hands down the best in town, so if you’re into milk-based drinks, this is the place.

Very minimalistic coffee shop. This is pretty much a takeout spot with a small bench area available for those waiting for their coffee. I ordered their iced vanilla latte which seemed to be quite popular based on the reviews here. The iced latte was good but nothing spectacular. I did like the fact they use in house syrup. I will probably come back to try their vanilla latte warm which I think would be much better.

Ordered: Vanilla Bean Latte (~$8 CAD) Aya's take: The Library is doing things with a level of high expertise! Incredible coffee that is made meticulously, roasted to perfection, and sweetened just right. The Vanilla Bean Latte called my name and I'm so glad it did. It's silky smooth, soothing, and balanced. The attention to detail and knowledge on the beans did not go unnoticed. This was one of the few Lattes I've had that hit right off the first sip. Loved it!

Five stars for their hojicha latte! I came here on a tip that it'd be a good place to buy coffee beans. After they confirmed they roast their own, I bought a bag for the coffee lover in my house. I grabbed a hojicha latte for myself and was very glad I did! I probably audibly "mmmmMMed" as I sipped this symphonic drink whilst walking along Dundas. My husband used these beans to make coffees for my friends on a recent weekend, all of whom raved over the smoothness of the brew. The Library's officially on my Toronto shortlist for tea, and coffee beans.

I heard a lot of great things about this cafe but I feel it's a bit overhyped. My friend and I both got the Vanilla Bean Latte which is one of their best sellers. It's a pretty small cup for $7 but you can tell they use real vanilla beans. We both agreed that the latte lacked espresso aroma. It felt more like just drinking vanilla bean milk and it's certainly not worth the price. I think I prefer Hatch more.

I ducked into this coffee shop to warm myself up as a brief period of snow flurries started to fall. Inside was quite small with very limited bench seating next to the counter. Decor was simple and all white. I was the only one enjoying my coffee inside so had the place to myself for the short time. Most customers just came and took their coffees to go. I chose the vanilla bean latte and substituted oak milk for an extra CAD$1.2. It was nicely crafted and hit the spot on that cold day.

This little coffee shop has one of the best coffees I have ever had. The coffee is so smooth and flavourful! Staff is super nice. The only thing I would change is to have seating, they have no tables it's more of a coffee to go place. Very close to the AGO

The Library Specialty Coffee is a gem! I absolutely love their cold brew. It has a wonderfully soft and creamy taste that keeps me coming back for more. Highly recommend! Just know they won't be many seats available and they sell their own beans as well which I like. The interior is simple and staff are very nice.

I came here once before for their refreshers which I didn't love, but came back and tried their coffee and it did not disappoint! Their lattes are pretty solid and I would definitely come back to try some of their pastries next time as well

Tiny, clean, minimalist coffee shop near OCAD. On Dundas between McCaul and St. Patrick streets. Almost no seating except for a bench along the window and a couple of seats. There was a business man sitting with his laptop on his lap on a tiny chair working away . The coffee? It's good. I had a cappuccino made with macadamia milk. Simple. It was very smooth. No sweetener needed. For me that means high quality beams and a proper pulling of the shots. They have a vanilla latte, mocha, flat white. It's all good.

The staff were friendly. They make a delicious Matcha latte. Just a heads up they don't have a bathroom that you can use. They did have lots of cute items that you could buy on the side as well as a nice mixture of different kinds of coffee beans if you like trying new kinds. This could be the perfect place to get items to make a gift basket for someone for Christmas.

I stopped by with a few friends this past Saturday afternoon after a friend had recommended The Library Specialty Coffee to me. The baristas did not seem like they wanted to be there nor were they very helpful or friendly. The interior is small with minimal seating (a bench area near the front). POUR OVER - 7.50 I got a more fruity/light roast pour over, but it was so diluted that you can only taste very little hints of the flavor profile the beans offers. It was incredibly watery and you can tell the beans themselves were promising, just poor execution. Also, paying that much for a pour over (9.00 including tax and tip) made me sad. I probably would have enjoyed the cold brew or Americano more for a smaller price. I wouldn't recommend the pour over here. My friends got the iced vanilla bean latte. One of them liked it, but the other thought that it tasted mainly like milk and that she couldn't really taste the vanilla bean syrup or espresso. Another friend got the iced Americano which he enjoyed.

Loved it! A little pricey, but all the best coffee is, lol. Not a ton of seating space, so it's best if you plan to grab and go. Service was super friendly.

I like it, I don't like it, I like it, I don't like it, change my mind... There's good and bad about this place, thus my love-hate for it. The coffee is top notch, there is no doubt about it. They hit all the points of a boutique gourmet-style coffee shop, like specializing in pour-overs, are proud of their bean selection, and make hand crafted coffees for us. What's not to like? The location has plenty of foot traffic, one of the busiest pedestrian routes in the city: Dundas going east from University toward Yonge Street. That's great for their business, but not ideal if you want to enjoy your pricy pour-over, or even grab a coffee to go. In my walks past here, I was only able to stop in once for coffee, due to the lineup which was unpredictable, so if you're on your way to work, you would need a cushion of time in front of you to drop in, and who has that? Interior is clean and modern; mainly white with black accents looking very nice, but there's not much room to sit and drink, let alone to even wait. If I am ordering coffee to appreciate, I'm not one to do that while walking down a busy sidewalk. I would prefer a quicker service place with more mass produced coffee in this location. And yes! That isn't easily found anywhere. I need to try the location by Bellwoods, that spot makes more sense.

Had a cappuccino which was smooth and divine. Added cinnamon to it. Their dairy is from Sheldon Creek Dairy which is an A2 milk which I like. Had a croissant which was decent, a bit too crispy though. Wife had a London fog cookie which was divine. They have 3 locations, (2 in Toronto and 1 on Markham). The coffee that day was 80% Guatemala (for smooth taste, hints of chocolate) and 20% Ethiopia (for the acidic taste).

One of few places I could find to get a good cup of coffee in the city that was open before 10am. And once I had their latte and baked goods I was hooked and kept coming back each morning while I was in town. I'm still thinking about the savory scones that I got here. I believe they were bacon cheddar chive? SO good. Scones can be hit or miss for me, and I find that they're often a miss - frequently too dry, too dense... not the case at The Library. Good latte too, quality coffee. I would definitely come back.

TLS is a great coffee spot. As ive forayed deeper into the coffee world, I've genuinely enjoyed their selection and preparation of coffee. The ambience is quaint, good location, and great selection. Whenever I'm in the area I stop by to check it out!

Fantastic little coffee shop! Been coming here since they first opened because they are a skip away from the office. Great coffee. Great service! Huge fan of their cappuccino with oatmilk and flat white. There have been a couple inconsistent cups... but overall its a solid coffee option in downtown core! Not much seating though, so I usually grab n' go. They are on Ritual app, so preorder for fast service, and earn points!

Visited The Library Specialty Coffee on a Saturday afternoon and tried their Matcha Latte [H]. Quick service, matcha was smooth, lovely latte art, and just the right sweetness level. Temperature was just right for sipping while walking outside in the cold. Prices were fair and I'd visit again if I'm nearby!

A small cafe close to the AGO serving up some unique baked goods (ie. Kit Kat cookies, cookies + cream cookies, etc) and quality coffee. What we ordered: - Iced Matcha Latte - Hot Matcha Latte w/ Oat Milk + Vanilla Syrup My Favs: - The iced matcha was smooth, good ratio of milk to matcha so you can actually taste it, and not too sweet - The hot match with alternative milk and sweetener was also smooth and a great drink on a rainy cool day Final Thoughts: I stopped by after a trip to the AGO as I heard The Library has some of the best matcha in the city. Both iced and hot versions were smooth, not clumpy, and not overly sweet. Not much seating so more of a grab-and-go spot. I'll stop by next time I'm in the area to try some of their pastries and grab a drink!

The Library is setting a high bar for Toronto. Recommend trying the single origin beans that are so flavorful. Dedication to the pourover is not something that can be found everywhere.

Came here for a quick coffee and get shelter from the rain. My friend and I both got a latte with oat milk. I really enjoyed my chai latte, however, I found the price point to be quite a bit higher relative to other cafes. There also wasn't must seating in the cafe.

Great spot for quality drinks. You can see that each drink is prepared with care price is okay. There's a bench to sit on enough for waiting area but other than that, no other seats/tables.

This the second location at Queen Street of The Library Coffee, the first one on Dundas Street. I had Americano and Birthday Cake Cookie. Both were amazing... I love the complex flavour of their coffee beans. I would definitely come here again.

This new coffee shop, situated just south of Trinity Bellwoods Park, is the outpost's second Toronto location. Not only is the space beautifully minimalist, but the coffee is done right. Lattes are perfectly frothy and the espresso is the correct ratio of smooth, balanced, and bitter. For your next sunny day park hang, consider skipping the massive lines at Nadege and White Squirrel, and try this newcomer instead. You won't be disappointed!

Best coffee in downtown Toronto, espresso was spicy, delicious and well balanced, cappuccino was cream and flour full, the best is the pour over, fruity and aromatic.

$4.52 for my flat white. Not as strong as I like it. My go to places are Neo, Manic, Early Bird, and Boxcar in no particular order. Barista was also the cashier during mid day. He was polite. I just like my espresso stronger

I'd heard good things about this shop and was eager to try it. One negative about this location is the seating. It's basically nonexistent other than a bench on the side. There were some tables in the back but they looked to be closed down and it was dark back there. I really would have liked to sit and enjoy my drink but it wasn't possible, so I got it to go. Watching the barista make my pourover was interesting as he used a technique I had not seen before with filters that weren't designed for the dripper device. It was obvious he was taking a lot of care while making it though, which is expected when you are ordering a fancy cup of coffee. Anyway the Ethiopian Gesha I had here was very nice and obviously high quality. Next time I would like to try a different location of the shop that has better seating arrangements so I can enjoy my drink properly.

Located near McCaul and Dundas, this small coffee shop serves all things coffee (along with teas and matcha lattes and a few baked goods). The interior is bright, fresh, and minimal with limited seating. I dropped by on a Tuesday morning and ordered an Americano. Great taste without any milk or sugar needed. I was able to sit down and enjoy my beverage while seeing the flow of customers come in. The place is small so don't expect to sit there for hours doing work; it's more of a grab and go coffee place. Staff were friendly and service was great. Will be back for more!

I had such a nice morning here! Made plans to meet friends here, but I arrived much too early and had some time to kill. The two baristas were really chill about it - they gave me the wifi password (was visiting from the US so this was extremely helpful), chatted about all the milk alternatives available (and how each one affected the taste of the espresso), and it was just a generally lovely encounter with nice, sincere people. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk, and it was so tasty. Bonus swan latte art! *star eye emoji* Something to note: there is very (very very) limited seating here, and a lot of it is pretty low. This was not an issue for me personally, but something to take into account if you're bringing your mom here (ok, maybe that's just my mom, haha), setting up a work sesh, or meeting a decently large group.

What a cute little coffee shop! My coworker took me here, otherwise I don't think I would have ever known this place existed given it is currently in the middle of a ton of construction along Dundas West. I tried their matcha latte and croissant. They whisk the matcha on the spot and I thought the latte tasted really good. I got mine with regular milk but they offer plenty of alternatives like oat milk and even macadamia milk, which we were able to sample. The croissant was good too and tasted fresh but I wish they were able to heat it up! I just love when croissants are warm and crispy on the outside yet chewy on the inside.

Best coffee! They know how to steam milk and their beans are excellent quality. It's not a sit in place, at least with Covid - so enjoy one to go!

This cafe makes a great cappuccino. I came here after a run and had a lovely chat with the barista (who was very knowledgable about coffee and also local attractions). I also got two cookies, matcha white chocolate and cookies and cream. I didn't get to try the matcha white chocolate as my husband devoured it, but I did try the latter (which was a bit too salty for me). I would definitely come here if you are looking for a well made espresso drink!

Great place to grab coffee while taking a walk. I got the vanilla latte with almond milk and my husband ordered the chai latte. The guys running the shop were very helpful and told us a little about their branding process. Loved the minimalist vibes.

3.5 stars Solid little coffee spot near OCAD With mostly white washed walls and soothing interior, it has a bit of a zen vibe to it. The tiles on the floor say standing room only and ... it's kinda true. There are 4 little wooden stumps re-purposed beautifully and sit around small little tables. There's another little spot in the back for another 2. I would say its more towards take out but you could sit for a little while to enjoy your cup. With much attention to ingredients (they even mention the farm with the milk comes from), they do try to provide the best cup for you. They source directly from a dairy provider, use Sweet Bloom for their beans, and a matcha from Japan. I think this is quite good but I do have to wonder why they didnt source from some very good Canadian roasters. Toronto has quite a few and I do know there are many good ones across the country. Service here is prompt, polite, and thoughtful. Our cups were immediately made and with care. Flat White - Less sour than our most recent flat whites, this one was more fruity but still carrying a decent amount of sourness. I would say it was not as rich tasting or smooth as I would like it. I think the very strong fruit flavour made it taste more citrus sour than anything else. 3.5/5 Matcha Latte - Rich with matcha, this lightly bitter latte was a nice vivid green. Definitely not on the watery side and frothed nicely. It was quite creamy and richer in texture compare to other places. 4/5 Cute spot and if I'm in the area again, I could see myself trying it again.

A small and minimalistic space to grab specialty coffee and baked goods. I really enjoyed their iced latte and could really taste the espresso in it. The prices are pretty standard for a specialty coffee store (~$5 for a latte). They have a few seating areas but this wouldn't be a great place to study at. There aren't any actual tables and it gets very busy, but it's a nice place to grab a coffee on the go or have a quick chat with friends.

I love, love, love the coffee here! TLS Coffee is a small little coffee shop that's so easy to miss, but make sure you don't next time you're in the area! I really like their lattes, and their espresso has a deeper nutty flavour compared to large chain espressos. You can always count on lovely latte art and super friendly service - especially form Jeffrey. I also think it's really cool that they roast their beans in the back. Will definitely come back, time and time again!

Ordered a regular double Americano, it was not bad tasting but far from really delicious. This is tough, too when such a simple coffee is creeping up to five bucks with tip (witness: typical e-payment machines now try to shake you down for a tip of 1, 2 or 3 dollars... have people lost their minds, LOL!) The dairy offered is unusual - I usually take cream, the shop tries to buy local whole unhomogenized milk and pour off from the head of cream... I could have asked for more, no real taste from it. It's a convenient location and I would giveLibrary one more try.

Easily the most aesthetically awesomeness coffee shop in Toronto, be it that I am bias towards the Nordic simple lines and resourcefulness. There's such an appeal to clean whites, dark black finishing and pops of greenery! String of pearls, fiddle figs, pothos and other plants don the shop to give it life, if you will. This is my ideal interior--white painted bricks. Now back to the coffee, I didn't have one but be sure I'll be back as they have pour over bar at the back! Instead I opted for a matcha latte in a smaller cup (less milk) and my favourite thing about it is that no sweetener was added but also, the matcha was whisked in its own bowl prior to being served in my cup! A bit on the uneven whisking as I did get clumps--possibly from the milk not being hot enough as well. The matcha used is a dark, deep matcha with sweetness to it--different than the sweet vegetal taste. Love how quiet it is, the barista--much like the Nordic way was not a conversationalist and focused on his craft; still friendly bit it reminded me so much of Iceland I'll definitely be back for the Pour Over!

This seems to be a chain with a few stores around downtown Toronto. The space is usually pleasant with some seating. The coffee is OK but expensive for what you get. The service is pleasant and fast.

Cute, chic, fresh. This tiny coffeeshop is simple yet elegant and is great to grab a coffee and snack (they have amazing pistachio croissants) with a friend. There is not much seating though so be prepared to grab and go. However if you're lucky you can snatch a seat on one of their wooden stools and minature tables that's perfect for 1 on 1 chats. Coffee is pretty standard, $4 for a latte. They also sell beans here and brewing equipment so that's cool if you want to try new coffee beans.

I have a membership at the AGO an we stop in here when we are in the area. The coffee is really good and the baristas are really nice. I really enjoy their espresso drinks are their cookies are delicious. I will be back here in the future.

I am not a big coffee drinker but I am a picky coffee drinker - I don't like my coffee to be too acidic, I prefer it more on the bitter side. The staff at the Library Specialty Coffee shop are very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating and I am always very satisfied with the coffee they serve me. They offer a variety of milk alternatives including macadamia nut milk, oat milk and almond milk. They also sell Craig's cookies which look really tasty. I will be back again soon. Highly recommended. Five stars.

I stopped by this spot around 8am for my daily dose of caffeine after an irritating morning, due to the fact that I was awake. In the MORNING. Anyway, it's located near OCAD, so naturally it's pretty artsy inside. Being the only customer when I walked in meant I couldn't stare at the menu or else that thing would happen where you stare at the menu and the employee stares at you, and you know deep down they're probably thinking hurry up, so you start sweating, but you could just be imagining it and they could be a nice person. You know, that thing? So I hastily ordered a latte to avoid said situation and sat on their tree stump stool until it was ready. I received my latte sans rosetta, but it was très tasty and the perfect pick-me-up. However, I don't have plans to return, only because nothing stood out enough to sway me from my regular go-to coffee shops.

Watery chai latte. Flat white was ok. Had better in many other shops in the area. Cookies were decent but tiny.

So, this coffee shop is simply amazing. It's a little out of the way, small, but I will highly recommend it. The staff are friendly and attentive, but more importantly the coffee is great. The combination of high quality coffee (Sweet Bloom) and fresh from farm milk. Everything I've had here has blown me away. In additional they have a Macha tea Latte with proper Macha. They are relatively new in town but it's one of the few places that impresses me with their quality.

Is it always this freezing cold in Canada!? LOL. Nevertheless, I usually start my day with coffee. Found this place on yelp. It's a very simple and charming coffee shop. Minimalist. We ordered hot chocolate and a cappuccino. The hot chocolate was excellent, but my cappuccino wasn't strong as I would hope. So I went back to the counter and asked if I could have an extra shot of espresso. The barista was so kind, she went ahead and made me a new one without charging me! second time around, the coffee was much better and I was happier. The customer service here is awesome, and the coffee, too, was great. ^_^
