Spent there one night in October and the room was great. It was a bit shocking to see all these people downstairs throwing parties and cooking, and we immediately thought that we had mistakenly booked a shared room in the hostel. Eventually there was no need to worry, because our private room was in the building right next to it. It was a great surprise to find out how well soundproofed it is. The room was clean, well-equipped, with a beautiful bathroom and comfy beds. It was also close to Metro station and restaurants. Unfortunately we didn't spend much time, but it was a great experience.

The hostel had a great community with events organised every day, including dinners, drinks, walking tours to explore different areas and attractions in Málaga, which made it very easy to meet others. All of the staff were welcoming and probably the most welcome I have felt in all the hostels I have stayed. Rooms were comfortable and facilities were great. Full kitchen also available and you for a small extra fee they also have a comprehensive buffet breakfast available every morning. I highly recommend it and would definitely stay again!

The Lights gives the classic Hostel feeling. Everybody was very friendly and treated as a friend, rooms were clean and reception 24/7. The hostel has a big offer of activities where you can easily meet people. Travelling alone I found friends very quickly.

There's few hostels were I felt right at home but this is definitely one of them! With the use of a group chat and so many daily activities that this hostel has to offer, it has been the most social hostel I have stayed so far (and I've seen many...). Location is amazing, check in/out 24/7, great bathrooms, for me it was perfect! Just don't compare it to a luxurious hotel room. It is a hostel so set your expectations. 100% sure I would recommend this hostel and stay here again!

They have been super kind to me, and helped me with everything they could. They listened to my problems and were super proactive to find solutions. The whole atmosphere is very familiar and welcoming, recommend this place 100%!! Also the rooms and installments are very clean and ideal for solo travelers!!

The cleanliness of the rooms and friendliness of staff should be improved a lot…. Next to my bed was a half empty yoghurt and in general it didn’t feel very well cleaned to me. the staff didn’t want to check me in but said I should do it by myself… The keycard system doesn’t work very well either: had to put it 3-4 times there until it worked and other guests had the same problems. This leads to a lot of noise when people go in and out. In general the hostel is not very modern, everything looks a bit old… Positive: the location is good.

I loved my stay at The Lights hostel! The beds & rooms are very basic and old (nothing wrong, just not super nice) and the street outside is quite loud. It’s difficult to sleep however most people staying here are young and go out most nights so it’s okay. (if you want a good night’s sleep, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.) However the atmosphere makes up for it 100%. This is a super social hostel and you are guaranteed to make friends immediately- it is incredible for solo travels! They provide a dinner each night for €5 euro which is worth it and great when on a budget- and dinner (and the free sangria an hour before) is when you meet people. This hostel also organizes some events however you can meet people naturally as well. Their rooftop is beautiful and nice for socializing as well as relaxing. I have only one concern/ complaint: the kitchen is not open until 8 am, which is a problem if you have an early day tour or bus to catch and you want to eat your breakfast from food you have stored in the fridge. I tried to go in there to get my fruits and yogurts at 7:30 am and the guy working the night shift was a bit rude and initially said it was closed and I could not go in. If I am paying to stay here (and at quite a high price) I need to be able to access my food at any time I need it. If there were not the kitchen rules, the hostel would honestly be perfect. 9/10 stay for sure.

LOVED IT! Very friendly stuff, the best place for social, wanna-feel-good persons and young people. The rooms are good, like a hostel, the bathroom is big and clean, well equiped. The receptionists are very friendly and helpful and the plus is: that You can get dinner on the rooftop only for 5 euros or drink very cheaply. Highly recommended especially for young people who like to travel and have fun! ☺️💥

Yelp
Wonderful new find in the centre of Malaga. Right opposite the central market and close to the station. It's part of a really good hostel which offers cheap dinners and breakfasts and Happy Hour drinks on the roof terrace. For us older folk the Suites provide lovely well designed rooms, some with balconies, and lovely bathrooms. How quiet they are depends on the other guests and at time of writing there's a very noisy group through the wall. That said the price is very good value for the quality of the room and is a very good option for a comfortable and cheap place to stay in Malaga.

Yelp
I stayed there for two nights to discover Malaga (booked via Expedia). I had a bed in a bedroom for 8 People (mixed), breakfast included. It's easy to get to the Hostel - bus stop and train station (to the airport) are nearby. The People at the reception were very friendly and gave me some good tipps what to visit in Malaga... The bedroom is really small, but functional, the only thing I missed was a cupboard (you can put your things into the drawer under the bed) and there is no place to put your suitcase. The aircondition in the rooms is also great (and useful during the hot summer in spain). The whole hostel has free wifi, which I used a lot, a kitchen (with fridges where you can put your food) and there are some events every day (for example 'tapas tour', free sangria in the evening, and you can also book dinner...). The breakfast was also ok for the price: coffee, juices, cornflakes & cereals, toast with margarine, nutella and jam... There are toilets (mixed use) on every floor and a seperate bathroom for men and women on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The rooftop-terrace is the highlight in my opinion (nice shadowy places, bar, and you can smoke there...). If I go back to Malaga sometime I would stay there again!
