Cheap food, cheap drinks, beautiful people! It has been a very warm and open stay so far, I did not expect a hostel to be so clean and well run in general. The staff is super friendly and most of them live locally so they also know how and would love to make your trip worth it. The location is very central too! There is a train station and multiple bus stops in short walking distance and when you want to join the vibrant city center you just have to walk one step out of the door.

The hostel has a strange atmosphere; you can't tell if everything is alright or if there's bad vibes. The receptionist try their best, but the biggest problem is the volunteers, of which there are many, and who seem to have no idea what they're doing there. The Canadian guy doesn't even respond when you say hello, and the French girl is the same, but Mike and Samuel are different. The cleaning lady isn't friendly either. This review is just to inform the hostel about things they might not be seeing.

Absolutely loved my stay at the Lights! Met incredible like minded people, really had fun. I met people at the free walking tour, the breakfast, diner and pub crawl 😄 Staff was very friendly and helpful, special thank you to Silvia who checked me in and made me feel very welcome ☺️ Diner was really worth it, really tasty and elaborated for a hostel meal so I recommended it (and it's with a drink included!) Breakfast buffet is really nice as well and worth the money! Location is great, close to everything (train station to go to the airport, port, city centre,...) 100% recommend this hostel if you're solo traveling

I had a very good experience here. The privacy curtains on the beds are great. Everything was kept clean and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Best pillows I've ever had in a hostel. Great location too.

It was a very nice experience ! The hostel has a nice daily program if you travel solo, it’s clean and in the city center so super comfortable to take connections or live the day and night life. A lot of friendly people and nice view from the rooftop. Super recommended

I stayed here for about 5 nights I think if you are solo travelling and looking to meet people this is the best place as they have sangria night/ volley ball, pub crawl etc.. the rooftop terrasse makes it the best place to meet people The rooms were clean and bathrooms as well. I like the fact they have private female bathrooms as well The only thing is it gets pretty loud on the street and the lockers and door slam often but this isn’t anything the hostel can do something about ( maybe just for the lockers ) Perfect location

Nice and clean hostel with a great central location — walking distance to the beach, city center, and main attractions. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was a bit small and walls not very soundproof, but overall it was a good experience for the price. Perfect for short stays if you’re exploring Málaga on foot.

Overall I can recommend this hostel. I would describe the hostel as a family hostel. Meaning if you are a solo traveler this is the perfect place to meet new people. Why? In the evening around 7pm people meet on the terrace for drinks and to connect and if you want for 7€ you can get home cooked dinner like burrito or chili con carne. With other hostels there are pub crawls and other activities available. Rooms were ok, shared bathrooms cleaned regularly. Not anything you wouldn’t expect in a hostel.

Yelp
Wonderful new find in the centre of Malaga. Right opposite the central market and close to the station. It's part of a really good hostel which offers cheap dinners and breakfasts and Happy Hour drinks on the roof terrace. For us older folk the Suites provide lovely well designed rooms, some with balconies, and lovely bathrooms. How quiet they are depends on the other guests and at time of writing there's a very noisy group through the wall. That said the price is very good value for the quality of the room and is a very good option for a comfortable and cheap place to stay in Malaga.

Yelp
I stayed there for two nights to discover Malaga (booked via Expedia). I had a bed in a bedroom for 8 People (mixed), breakfast included. It's easy to get to the Hostel - bus stop and train station (to the airport) are nearby. The People at the reception were very friendly and gave me some good tipps what to visit in Malaga... The bedroom is really small, but functional, the only thing I missed was a cupboard (you can put your things into the drawer under the bed) and there is no place to put your suitcase. The aircondition in the rooms is also great (and useful during the hot summer in spain). The whole hostel has free wifi, which I used a lot, a kitchen (with fridges where you can put your food) and there are some events every day (for example 'tapas tour', free sangria in the evening, and you can also book dinner...). The breakfast was also ok for the price: coffee, juices, cornflakes & cereals, toast with margarine, nutella and jam... There are toilets (mixed use) on every floor and a seperate bathroom for men and women on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The rooftop-terrace is the highlight in my opinion (nice shadowy places, bar, and you can smoke there...). If I go back to Malaga sometime I would stay there again!
