The Lime is a great spot for creative tacos and gluten-free options. The place has a chill atmosphere with patio seating. The staff is friendly and knows their stuff when it comes to menu hits and gluten-free options. Overall, great food, great drinks, and super accommodating for gluten-free diners. Definitely recommend if you're in town!

Google
Fun-ish Place! The tacos are individual so you can get a few and experience what they have, but also they are very expensive for what it is and I hate to say it, very MEDIOCRE! Good location for walking around the town after dinner but everywhere we ate well in the USVI this was one of the worst! I'm not sure how they make a taco mediocre but they nailed it!

Google
Best Tacos and Happy Hour on St John! We loved the Pork Quesadilla. Tommy the Bartender made our awesome cocktails! He makes the best Smokin Luca. Can’t wait to go back!

Luiz Cent

Google
The tacos are spectacular, and Tommy is the absolute best server I’ve had in years. The Mr worldwide and gday mate are fantastic, fish tacos. But the winner is the tempura fried fish. The black bean dip also very good but we’ll be back because Tommy is the man!

Wendy Simpson

Google
Tommy and Matt were our friendly bartenders and servers. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by these two friendly young men who took care of us for the evening. Drinks, quesadillas and tacos were all excellent. We will be back for happy hour :)

Google
We had our wedding welcome dinner and drinks here… about 60 people total. They absolutely knocked the whole evening out of the park — the appetizers and tacos were unbelievable. Every single staff that we interacted with was SO kind and professional and accommodating. I would absolutely recommend organizing any group event with them if you’re looking for an amazing experience.

Ross Herrin

Google
Dined at the bar, Tommy was very attentive. Drinks were superb. Tacos are amazing, can't believe they've been around for 40 years & this is the first time we've tried it. We'll be back for sure!!

Google
We had a decent meal, but this is definitely not the best family or child friendly restaurant. There was no kids menu, and the only options on the menu were quesadillas, tacos, appetizers, and drinks. Our more adventurous eater ate his taco, the other one just ate sour cream. No lobster or fish or pasta as described in the reviews from years ago. No side vegetables. We got unlucky with the server, who seemed overwhelmed, barely asked or offered anything, and then double charged us for our drinks. The food we got was delicious, but it really wasn’t much in quantity given the prices. The staff in general were very friendly and accommodating, and helped us park right out front. The bathrooms were tiny and difficult to change a diaper in. Our experience was just mixed and I had to double check our receipt that we actually did go to The Lime Inn, that was touted at the top of all family and kid friendly restaurant lists for Cruz Bay. Things must have really changed. We were there for dinner on a Monday. So if you’re a couple looking for delicious food and drinks, it’s worth it. If you’re looking for a kids menu, I’d try someplace else.

Yelp
Many changes over the last 10 years. Each change took me a while to accept it. Eventually, I was happy with their changes. The newest change is tacos, but not typical tacos complex, but wonderful tacos. The owners are charming, and the prices given the fact that all prices are expensive in the island is actually very fair. We will be coming back regularly

Yelp
Wonderful service. We were greeted with a nice woman who offered a cocktail while we waited for our table. We had the Galileo and G'Day mate tacos. I loved my Galileo and would order again. Lots of flavor. My friend said g'day mate didn't have as much flavors. We also had the corn dip and guacamole for appetizers. The guacamole was one of the best I've had. Chips seemed a little stale and could have been more fresh. For dessert, we split the key lime pie taco. Lots of lime flavor - good tartness. Ambiance was nice.

Yelp
Overpriced and not as good as Lime Out, though it could be that everything tastes better on the water. Overly sauced shrimp taco but excellent fish taco. Beautifully simple, casual elegance. Island time service.

Lisa R.

Yelp
Delicious and unique tacos and some amazing cocktails. Highly recommend the Hunter's Passion cocktail. Be sure to get dessert! Make a reservation well in advance.

Yelp
On a night where the island is experiencing a power outage, there are very few restaurants with generators which also means every restaurant is packed. The Lime Inn was the exception - probably because it's located on a not very lit street, but certainly not because of the service or food. The Lime Inn has a bright and fun atmosphere and the service was friendly and attentive. The watermelon cocktail was delicious and refreshing. The tacos were wonderful. I ordered the Surf's Up Hei Hei (shrimp and pork bbq), which I thought was a bit heavy on the bbq sauce. It could have used more slaw to brighten it up and give it some texture. It was okay, possibly just not for me. Another member at our table ordered it and liked it. I also ordered the Tuna Matata - which I thought was wonderful. The Tuna was seared perfectly, the slaw was delicious and bright. I wish I would have ordered two. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend!

Yelp
First night in STJ in 7 years and came to Lime Inn. It didn't disappoint! It was a bit crowded but we got a 4 top by the bar. The outdoor seating and open air concept makes it lovely on beautiful nights like tobjh We started with drinks...the Hunters Passion was amazing! So fresh and delicious! The Harbor Cooler was light and refreshing. For appetizer we had the grouper ceviche with homemade tortillas. Really good and the chips had a nice kick! We all ordered a variety of tacos and you really can't go wrong with any of them. Two is the perfect amount! Definitely coming back!

Yelp
1st time here. Service was great. Relaxing atmosphere, nice vibe. Excellent black bean dip. Tacos were very flavorful. Would recommend and return.

Yelp
We loved our tacos, our The Danger cocktails, and our key lime dessert taco. Darren & Tommy at the bar and Chelsea took good care of us.

Yelp
BEST TACO IN USVI!!!!!! These tacos are something else.... Been coming here for two years solely for the Cowabunga taco and it never disappoints. Don't miss out on this place if you're in Cruz Bay. Atmosphere is better than anywhere along the beach, plus there's literally 17 fans on the ceiling making it the best place to cool off. Ask for Tommy!
google avatar

Yelp
The Lime Inn is a charming colorful spot with plenty of tacos, including two vegan options. It's a shame they don't offer a vegan dessert, but hopefully they will in the future. The waiter was friendly and took good care of us. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained.
google avatar

Yelp
Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. The tacos were really yummy! This was our first stop on the island after a long day of travel and we were all happy. We had A vegetarian with us who had a lot of options too which is also always good!

Jill Cannon ..

Yelp
Delicious! The frozen key lime pie taco dessert lives rent free in my head. Great service from the bartender Tom, too.

Taylor W.

Yelp
Ripped off. They don't mention happy hour is per person, rather then per check. Each taco alone is $10+. Not worth your time or money. Managed Dylan told us happy hour was BOGO, completely mislead us.

Lee B.

Yelp
Four of us were lucky enough to eat at The Lime Inn for Christmas Eve dinner. The food and service were outstanding! Who knew tacos could be so amazingly good?? Our waitress was very helpful, both patient and knowledgeable. Although I had looked up the restaurant before our trip, and had hoped to go, an internet outage which caused some establishments on the island to not accept credit cards was the deciding factor, something for which we are eternally grateful as this wound up being our favorite meal on the island! Thank you to the host who so pleasantly accepted us and gave us a lovely table, the chef for our outstanding meals (the vegetarian among us was also impressed!) and our waitress who made our Christmas Eve feel warm and cozy!

Yelp
Amazing! Delicious! Omg! The tacos are so flavorful. I love the Surfs up Hei Hei & Corner chair tacos w/ Hunter's Passion drink. The best cocktail I've ever had. The taco had Korean bbq chicken in the surfs up that was outstanding. And the Corner chair had bbq rib meat that was amazing. The Hunters Passion was a passion fruit concoction that put gourmet into alcohol. The people were super friendly and nice. My only negative would be that it's not air conditioned. It was a super hot & muggy day. But it was under cover and had a bit of a breeze. I love the experience of Lime out, but this was better for those not on a boat. I will be back. It was that good!!

Mike C.

Yelp
A great place to pop in for a wonderful taco and a great cocktail. We sat at the bar, it was busy but we got our drinks immediately after sitting down and our tacos a few minutes later. The tacos were amazing. The service was great. The power went out while we were eating but the generator kicked on and we enjoyed our meal while other places in Cruz Bay went dark.

Yelp
Outstanding tacos, friendly service and bright, comfortable atmosphere! Fresh ingredients and creative, flavor combinations. We had the Nightshade, Tuna Matada, Demi Goddess, The John Wayne, and Walking on Sunshine. Each was delicious! We also enjoyed the Nene Margarita and Delian's Lemonade. The Key lime taco and Chocolate- salted caramel taco were both outstanding as well! We highly recommend The Lime Inn next time you're in Cruz Bay.

Camian C.

Yelp
We sat at the bar, the tender was very nice, Tommy, he made excellent drinks. The tacos are fantastic and the service is beyond fast. Very comfortable atmosphere.

Yelp
Went to Lime Inn for dinner, and had some FANTASTIC tacos and cocktails. So many choices of tacos that it is difficult to decide. We have been twice, so we have gotten to try several different kinds, and they are all good. Two tacos is a reasonable amount for dinner, as they are large, but it is always tempting to get that third. We solved this problem by splitting the third one. Couple this with friendly service and a wonderful Caribbean al fresco setting, and it makes for a perfect evening. We will definitely be going back.

Yelp
Lime Inn used to be a prix fixe restaurant. Now, it's a land-based version of Lime Out, the floating taco bar in Coral Bay. Like most restaurants in St. John, it's open to the outside, which means it's the perfect temperature all the time. We went in (12/29/23) for a couple margaritas. It was nicely crowded, but everyone was friendly, and some folks moved around so we could sit at the bar together. There's lovely table seating, as well, but it was fun to sit at the bar and watch the skilled bartenders create their magic! Despite the crowd, the staff was pleasant and accommodating. We got the "nene" margarita and the grapefruit margarita. Both were fresh and flavorful. Good pour on the tequila, but very smooth. We split one more of the grapefruit margaritas. We also had a "cowabunga" (braised short rib, blackened shrimp, pickled onions, feta) taco and a "tuna matata" (jerk tuna, pineapple, jicama relish, slaw) taco, whimsically named and delicious. The tacos aren't cheap ($10 to $14 each), but from a flavor standpoint, they are absolutely worth it. If it was all you were eating, you might want a second, but honestly, there was so much yumminess, we left feeling very satisfied. We'll definitely go back on our next trip.

Yelp
Lovely restaurant a short walk from the ferry terminal. The atmosphere is fun and lively and the food and drinks were amazing! We had a party of 6 and the service and food were perfect! We look forward to returning!

Natalea D.

Yelp
wonderful service, wonderful tacos, wonderful beverages and amazing bartenders!! the best food on st. john GO!

Lila S.

Yelp
We just dined at Lime Inn. They've changed their menu to all different kinds of tacos whereas previously they offered a 3-course price fixe menu only. We really enjoyed the tacos! My husband and I both had 2 tacos each. I had a fried corn tortilla which was a hard shell type taco; I had the tuna matata and chili shrimp taco. Both were delicious!! My husband had the K-pop taco with chicken and a surf/turf taco; both were in soft flour tortillas. He said his tacos were also delicious! The ambiance and service were excellent. Due to rolling blackouts recently on the island, Lime Inn doesn't currently offer desserts which is unfortunate but understandable as they lost both of their freezers in the blackouts. We can't wait to go back!

Machelle H.

Yelp
$24 for worthless carry-out dessert. A pool of already melted key lime pie and cardboard "taco" shell. Yuck! The guy at the bar should've at least told me that the dessert was frozen. I called and asked them if they had Keylime pie - and they said yes; and I said I'll be in to get it. No one mentioned that it was a crummy tasteless waffle cone shaped like a taco with completely melted goo in the bottom of the Styrofoam. Waste of time & money. Don't even get me started on the hassle it was to get there at dinner time with Cruz Bay's impossible parking situation. Ugh!!!

Yelp
Great date night dinner out or to celebrate with great food prepared with presentation and quality at the forefront of a nice meal. Not a fan of the fixe prix menu, but fortunately this seems to satisfy most Customer's taste' here on the island. Service was ok, as we sat for long stretches without water or empty drinks on a hot evening in August. Friendly staff that want to please clientele. I would recommend and will be back in May '24 for another fun evening!

Michelle D.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem! The food was delicious. The staff were very friendly. Jairo our waiter was great!! Our party of four loved the atmosphere. A++

Suzann H.

Yelp
This was one of our favorite restaurants until they changed it to a "tasting menu" only after COVID. We saw that they now have a mostly tacos menus so we decided to give them another try. We were pleased to see the clam chowder still on their menu. It was delicious, although a little too salty for me. I had a taco with spare ribs on it. I can't remember what it was called on the menu. It was tender and juicy with a great flavor! After I finished eating it, I decided I wish I would have asked for some cabbage on it for some crunch. I'll do that next time! We were frustrated that our tacos came out probably about two minutes after we received our chowder. We should have been given plenty of time to finish our chowder, then bring our tacos. Next time we'll wait until we're finished eating our chowder to order our entree. The music was a little too loud for us, a couple there to have a quiet, peaceful dinner and conversation. We'll definitely be back! Give it a try!

Yelp
WARNING: Mora, our server, is acutely aware that a 20% tip added to parties of 6 or more. She is curt (to the point of rudeness), impatient, and not a good server. On a slow night, she asked if we knew what we were having and left when we hesitated, without giving us a chance to ask questions. Another server took the time to help us multiple times - getting us refills, take a group picture, etc (even though she wasn't getting anything) and host (Bubu) were amazing. Service was subpar, especially for her receiving a $120+ guaranteed tip. I'd recommend either go with a smaller party or ask for someone besides Mora.

Yelp
Great atmosphere & vibe with food and service to match. We did the 3 course menu, each was excellent, same for dessert. Definitely will go again. Maura was excellent

Caroline C.

Yelp
Great food. Apps are three dips to choose from, all warm and yummy with homemade tortilla chips coated with great seasoning. Then about 15 different tacos to choose from. Reccomend choosing two or three different ones. Rather fulling but great complex flavors and so worth it. Dessert are two types of dessert tacos. Key Lime Pie and Chaco Taco, the chaco was the preffered but Key Lime Pie lovers would really enjoy that one.
google avatar

Amanda A.

Yelp
The perfect spot for a fun date night on St John. The bartender, Bubu, knows everything there is to know about the menu and makes excellent drinks. We did the 4-course option and it was plenty of food. Lime Inn will be a spot of ours each time we get to the island. Make sure to make reservations. Oh! We took home the leftover rice dish and per Bubu's suggestion, scrambled up eggs & mixed them w/the leftovers the next morning!

Yelp
The Lime Inn Restaurant is located in Downtown Cruz Bay, at St John Island, in the US Virgin Islands and has been a favorite of locals and visitors since 1984. Lime Inn's tropical garden courtyard and lime green colors set an open tropical island vibe. Dine-in guests can choose a 3, 4, or 6 course tasting menu. The 4 course tasting includes 2 appetizers, 1 entree, 1 dessert (65 / guest). The 3 course tasting includes 1 appetizer, a whole snapper or lobster, dessert (65 / guest). The Tuna Tartare appetizer came with fresh ahi tuna tartare, asian marinade, seaweed salad, & plantain chips. Plantain chips are not my favorite and I would have rather had regular chips but the Ahi Tuna and Asian marinade were on point! 9/10 The sushi crab tapa appetizer came with crispy warm risotto tempura 'cake,' sesame sea weed salad, spicy chili garlic crab salad, & unagi sauce. 10/10 The hog + the buffalo appetizer came with prosciutto wrapped buffalo mozzarella, balsamic reduction, & tomato salsa. The Kiwi Filet entree came with grass fed tenderloin, red wine guava sauce, feta mashed potatoes, & roasted asparagus. 9/10 The Caribbean Lobster entree in the shell came with a huge fresh caught Caribbean lobster tail cut in half, drawn hot butter, lemon silky parmesan risotto, & broccoli and was absolutely amazing! 10/10 The Coconut Dream Tembleque dessert came with coconut custard, roasted pineapple, toasted coconut flakes. The dessert was light and not too sweet which is what we needed after a huge amazing meal. 8/10 The Brownie A La Mode dessert came with a rich, warm brownie, house made vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, candied walnuts and was absolutely delicious! 9/10 Our server was friendly quick and courteous and everything tasted amazing! If you're ever in the Cruz Bay side of St John Island, and are craving a big fresh seafood feast, I highly recommend visiting the Lime Inn Restaurant!

Yelp
My husband and I vacationed in Saint John and had dinner here for our anniversary and it was superb. The staff was batons accommodating and friendly. The food was flavorful and fresh with decent sized portions. My husband (a huge meat guy) said it was one of the best steaks he's ever had in his life and we both loved all our meal. Will absolutely be back!

Yelp
We had a great dinner here. A tasting menu is now offered, I had the 6 course with a pairing. I haven't been in sometime, since the new owners purchased the restaurant. It is easy breezy during covid, reservations were required as several people tried to come here tonight with no res and were turned away. Service was outstanding, the food was excellent. Photos are here of the courses and tasting menu. Some of our favorites were sushi crab tapa, bubu salad, lamb chops and all the desserts , none of any of the tasting dishes disappointed, these happen to be what comes to mind a week or two later for favorites. All thoughtfully prepared and presented. The intense focus on the food presentation, fresh ingredients, and a twist made this a five star. The new Chef/Owner has given some excitement to traditional dishes and added some influence from his Puerto Rician culture. Our server Tommy was so helpful throughout the meal. This was our big night out and glad we went with the Lime Inn. The Lime Inn has been in business since I can remember. The Lime Inn has been in the middle of Cruz Bay, being open, breezy and a place for both residents and visitors to come and eat and relax.

Staci Jenn S.

Yelp
Menu is primarily tacos, a change from the last time we ate there (pre Covid). Tasty Tacos - gourmet flavor, fun desserts. They even have parking available for customers which is an added bonus.
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
good tacos with good service. limited menu but good at what is offered. only tacos here, no apps or anything so make sure you want a taco before going. some tacos were nothing special but prepared well.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing as always!!! But come hungry, the tasting menu is a lot of food. Get the Pig and Buffalo .... YUM!! And the Key lime pie is a must. Service is alway wonderful. Location great, if you're driving into town remember to check for a parking spot at the restaurant we might get lucky.

Kaitlyn B.

Yelp
Food, restaurant space, service, all fantastic! I'm vegan and it's so exciting to have a great tasting menu with vegan options. The second course, Parsnips and Pumpkin was one of the greatest things I've ever eaten. The server was amazing and the staff spoke so passionately about the food. Best meal on the island hands down!

Yelp
We sat at the bar for dinner 4-18-2022, because we didn't have reservations. So, call ahead for a reservation; however, our experience was still good. The bartender served us and was very attentive. She seemed experienced, she held conversations with us and provided us with details of some of the more popular food choices. I wish i could recall her name. Hopefully, she will still get credit for this review. The food was good. It was a four course meal. And i had sopa de coco y gandules (vegan + gf) for my first course Second course i had the spaniard Third course i had the peppered chick and fourth course i had key lime pie. I can't recall the name of the drinks i had but they were very good.
google avatar

Yelp
Hmmm- Good service. Unfortunately the food was lackluster at best. Strange 'carpaccio' to start - super thin slices of Wahoo soaked for quite a while in a very viscous vinegary almost pickling sauce. The Camarones' second course were not blackened, though had an interesting eggplant sauce and plantain chips which were very good! The lobster was poorly cooked- boiled or steamed until well well done. No flavor and very chewy. This was served with the weirdest risotto I've had i think, very al dente with a strangely gritty cheese/Parmesan sauce. Couldn't really eat that- the little broccoli florets were good. As another reviewer noted, and it's true, the brownie dessert is one of those round brownies you buy at the grocery store serves with the sweetest vanilla ice cream. Way too sweet- supposedly homemade. Really not worth the price at all I'm sad to say. Can only order their 4 or 6 course dinners so you cannot spend less than $100 per person on a very 'wanna be' dinner. Kind of cruise shipy I imagine.

Yelp
We had dinner at the Lime Inn on Valentine's Day and enjoyed it very much. There was a 5 course special tasting menu and it was really good, many different flavors! The tenderloin and shrimp main entree was good sized and very flavorful. We had the wine pairings which were excellent and a good value, we thought. We liked talking to the manager about the menu and wine, she is very knowledgeable. The atmosphere was lovely and a nice ambience for Valentine's Day.

Yelp
We randomly decided to check out Lime Inn for dinner and I'm so glad we did because we ended up having our faaaavorite meal here! It was crackin' when we walked in but we were able to sit at the bar with no issues. He had the seafood pasta and I tried the swordfish and WOW! Everything was amazing; I was taking such small bites because I didn't want the meal to end. The cocktails were also bomb. The vibe of the whole restaurant was just cool & laid back. Our bartender/server was friendly & fun; everyone in the restaurant was having such a great time! I would definitely come back the next time I visit St. John.

Yelp
I recently had a great experience at Lime Inn. I have been here before with my family and honestly wasn't as impressed as this last time. I think they have changed their menu and also added more features. The food and service was phenomenal. Lime Inn is well known for their fresh grilled lobster. A few people in our party ordered it. I am not a lobster fan, but was told it was delicious by those who are. I ordered the swordfish dish, which was amazing! So fresh with great flavor. I also started with the honey salad and loved that, as well. Overall, I highly recommend Lime Inn! Please dine here if you're on St. John!

Yelp
What a wonderful dining experience on St John! We did the 4 course tasting menu as a group of 8 (6 adults & 2 kids). We were able to order a la carte for the kiddos which worked out wonderfully. The price point of $75/pp for the pre-fixe menu was more than reasonable & so worth it. The Danger & Flip's Margarita were fantastic cocktails, and the wine list had so many great choices, too. Many of us started Course 1 with Wahoo, capraccio style, and the Tartare. The Wahoo was so delicate yet meaty & flavorful. The tartare was so fresh & perfectly paired with the guacamole mousse underneath along with plaintain chips for dipping. Course 2 was Camarones Nocturnos (blackened shrimp) as well as the Spaniard (skirt steak empanada) both were so delicious. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and accompanied by a flavorful sauce & plaintain chips. The Spaniard was a delicious cripsy pastry surrounding well seasoned steak & carmelized onions. Our main, Course 3, was filled with complex and wonderfully balanced flavors. The Carribean Lobster Risotto was creamy, cooked al dente & the lobster was cooked perfectly. So Yummy! The Basilica Del Mar was absolutely amazing. The pasta was fresh in a delicious pesto like sauce, the seafood was well mixed throughout, so fresh & cooked spot on. The Rum Ribs were fall off the bone tender with hearty mac & cheese. The Whole Snapper was super tender & accompanied by deliciously seasoned rice and beans. Dessert to top it all off was 10s all around for the decedant Brownie a la mode, dreamy Coconut Tembleque & vibrant Key Lime Semi Freddo. Cannot wait to come back next trip!!

Yelp
Haven't been to St John for a few years bu I used to eat frequently at the Lime Inn and the service and food was decent. Yesterday I went there at 5pm and they required reservations which I understand so we ate else. On the way back stopped again and tried to make reservations for a party of 10 and was rudely told it's $65.00 per person , no mention of menu items. So we decided to decline not because of the cost but because of the poor attitude.

Yelp
Everything here is awesome. Service was great, drinks were great, food was good and well prepared. I wouldn't say food was fantastic out of this world 10/10 but everything was done right enough (from A to Z) for our dinner experience to be enjoyable and just seamless. Would def return!

Yelp
Stopped in tonight with a reservation & seated promptly. Party of 5. Food was terrific, nice size portions with the 4 course dinner. We didn't feel rushed. My 3 teenagers all found something to eat here too.

Yelp
Going to the Lime Inn was a last minute restaurant change, and I'm happy with my decision. The Lime Inn has an authentic island vibe and a relaxed "outdoor" feeling. I came here very dressed up (due to the restaurant change), but I could have been more casually dressed. Their menu is impressive, and it's hard to decide what to select. I recommend the honey salad (I had mine without the walnuts). I've never had caramelized pears before, and now I want them every single day. I also recommend the gnocchi. It is so clearly homemade and flavorful. You will love every bite. I ended the night sampling the key lime pie. It was delicious and the perfect way to end my stay in St. John. Bar service, as well as the management, is top-notch. They care about their customers here. The Lime Inn is centrally located, and from here you can walk around and visit other bars and shops.

Yelp
Good Service, Good Food! We stopped in for date night... I don't remember the actual occasion, just that Donna was in a nice red dress... lol... I had the Wok Chicken Dinner and it was tasty... I remember liking it very well and wishing there was more since it was so good. This is not the least expensive or the most expensive spot on the island. All in all I would rate this place at 4 stars...
