Quick stop for lunch on our way down the A1 from Scotland to Wiltshire. Sorry but the amount charged for Venison at lunch time, for the 2.5 chunks was ludicrous. Slither of mash, drowned in gravy...only saving grace was that it was actually tasty. Partner's burger was decent. Ordered a coffee to the table. Waiter goes to leave then turns and says 'before you run off can you make sure to pay for that at the bar.' Obviously mate. Went to order the sticky toffee pudding, to be told it would be a few hours as they were being prepped. No problem, until you see someone else get served one 20 minutes later. Partner got the chocolate pot-style desert. Says on the menu to allow 20 minutes for this particular desert, not sure why. It seemed straight out of the microwave and it was tiny. Can't say if it was made there and then, not sure on the 20 minute wait time, probably just to allow the ice cream to defrost a little. Convenient location if you're heading up/down the A1, next to petrol station. I'll come for the petrol next time, probably not the pub. Feels a shame as got the vibe of a welcoming, warm and traditional pub. Can't say this experience matched what we expected.

Stayed here Jan 2025 it was for one night ( a Xmas gift) we were not disappointed at all had an accessible room that was very clean, comfortable, warm and plenty of fluffy towels. The staff are delightful and eager to please, nothing was too much trouble. Food was amazing and cooked to your taste, would not hesitate to stay again, special thanks to Chloe for her outstanding service.

We had a warm and friendly welcome on arrival and outstanding and professional customer service throughout our stay at The Lindisfarne Inn. Cosy accommodation which was 'dog friendly' too.||Plenty of choice on the menu both for breakfast and evening meals and they were good hearty meals to satisfy appetites after exploring the scenic locations close by to the hotel during the daylight. All the staff went over and above to give customer satisfaction and this is why we go back every year.

The burger here was great. It was really fresh and tasty, cooked to perfection. Same with the onion rings and chips, really crispy and well done. Overall a really nice meal. The restaurant itself has a really nice interior. It was quiet when I was there but I think that it would have a great atmosphere if it was a bit busier. It's in a great location to fuel up before or after a day out visiting the local historical sights. Will definitely be stopping in here any time I pass by.

Fab 1 day night stay with 2 children under 4, great location for accessing holy island. Clean, quality amenities, staff so kind and accommodating. Excellent food. Couldn’t fault it! Would like to personally thank Faith for taking care of us in the restaurant and her manager. Very accommodating xx

Our third stay at the Lindisfarne hotel for the Christmas break package and have to say it was by far the best one yet ! The personalised Xmas card and treats laid out on the bed made by one of the chefs was a lovely touch and treats for the dogs too pus a free drink . Breakfast had little extra touches than previous times like croissants and bagels homemade sausage rolls , something different each morning . Christmas dinner was lovely and the evening buffet was very grand , the staff were absolutely exceptional they worked so hard over the Christmas period certainly Christmas Day and we have to give a big shout out to Donna the assistant manageress , Mikey the trainee manager Harley Chloe Rebecca Faith Racheal and the chefs Amrish and Furook pardon if their names spelt wrong . Every member of staff made us feel so welcome and they couldn’t do enough for you . The meals were good portions and we really liked the updated menu and the room was absolutely spotless !! Amelia the new manageress has done the hotel proud with the new changes and a really lovely young lady and working with a great team we will be back next year

We booked a room using the winter break special. Rooms were available from 1500 and we arrived at 1440. The young lady said the rooms weren't ready and to sit and have a drink whilst we waited. She didn't ask our name or inform reception we were there. We sat until 1530 & then a very pleasant lady, Donna, asked if we were waiting to check in as she hadn't been told anyone had arrived. We had room 3. An extractor fan (I think) blows a hooley & makes a loud racket just opposite this room. The room itself was clean and tidy with a super king bed. The bar of the hotel was ok. A bit chilly and quite small but we sat here until we ate. Some of the seats are really uncomfortable & not conducive to a relaxing drink. Other inn collection hotels have nice comfy armchairs. We ate in a room around the corner to the bar as tables in the bar area had been reserved. We were the only ones there. It lacked atmosphere and was pretty cold. No one else (customers) appeared the whole time we were there. We had a £30 (pp) allowance for dinner. I had soup and a tandoori chicken burger. My husband had skins with aioli & the rump steak. The steak was £24.50 and was fairly small. The soup was ok, more potato than leek & potato. The burger was quite dry & only had a very small piece of chicken thigh. The food arrived really quickly and we did feel rushed. This is an extremely noisy hotel. It is next to the A1 (which we knew and could tolerate) but some of the rooms are opposite the entrance leading to reception and the kitchen so staff coming and going may disturb your sleep and deciding to empty bottles at 0645 is mean. These factors in addition to the noisy extractor which went on into the early hours means that we would not stay here again.

Yelp
We were making the long (6 hours or so) drive from home to Edinburgh for a few days. We were starting to feel hungry, probably still two hours drive to go and luckily passed this nice looking pub by the side of the road. Not exactly in the middle of nowhere but fairly remote. Found somewhere to pull over and turn around after5 minutes drive. Called to make sure that the kitchen was still open (mid afternoon) and headed back. The staff were young an friendly, service was good and my creamy fish pie and a glass of cider were tasty and satisfying. It was now late afternoon (about 4-4:30) and I had seen a road sign for a castle - so I looked on Google and discovered that we were just minutes from Holy Island: https://www.lindisfarne.org.uk/ Couldn't resist - so off we drove, pretty landscape and beautiful views once we had crossed the busy train track. Then we got the crossing to the island and realized for the first time that access was determined by the tides and the tide was clearly coming in. Stopped for a quick chat with two photographers getting ready to take pics and ascertained that we had better be back in 15 minutes or we could get trapped - so off we went, quick visit of the beautiful island, took a few pics (of course we couldn't stop for long) and crossed back within about 20 minutes - we likely had another 10-15 minutes to be honest before we would have been cut off - but Edinburgh awaited us :) Three thumbs up Definitely visit bot the pub and the island but check tidal times before deciding which to do first! Yelp
Have been for a meal here several times, and have never been disappointed. Imaginative food, great service, and reasonable prices too

Yelp
We visited this pub for lunch after leaving Holy Island. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Service was prompt. I had scampi which was nice but the chips were clearly frozen and a bit dry. My partner had shoulder of lamb which was very good with nice fresh veg. Kids meals also seemed OK - usual selection. Didn't try puddings but they looked good.

Yelp
The inn is alright on the bedding side, but the staff is not very helpfull. The waitress did not break a smile for the 4 days spent there ( nor at breakfast or dinner) and the food is desperately pub stiyle. Fine is you enjoy a fish and chip the size of a shoe box but impossible to get something not deep fried. Even when ask for substitution the green come as decoration ( one leaf of uncooked call to replace the rice really?) and do not dare to ask for yogurt in the morning without passing for a snob.
