The Lingholm Estate

We spent the weekend staying at The Boathouse on the Lingholm Estate. Our first stay here and just can't fault it... The Boathouse was stunning – in design, comfort, privacy and all the little added extras. We didn't feel the need to go beyond the estate much as there's so much to see in regards to the wildlife and scenery, although we did venture into Keswick for some supplies. The Boathouse was just the perfect place to relax – I could just sit and stare out of the plate glass window over the lake all day... This really is a special place to stay and we'll definitely be going back again!

The accommodation is extremely comfortable, well designed, well appointed,clean and spacious. The main reason for choosing to stay here, however, is the location: Even in the worst weather, the view is nothing short of spectacular. The night we arrived, we enjoyed a takeaway afternoon tea from the excellent cafe and watched the moon rise over the water.|The boathouse is located in a very private corner of the estate and (weather permitting) guests can swim etc direct from underneath the accommodation. December after weeks of heavy rain was not the time to do it but we'll definitely come back at a better time of year.|It's not cheap, but it's worth it and the fact you have to book 2 years in advance tells you everything you need to know.

Stayed on the estate. House was excellent. And very well located for exploring the Lake District. What made it especially great was having the cafe minutes from our door. Amazing food there with very friendly staff.

Perfect location for a weekend away. Our property, Silver Hill, was ideal for our needs - very well presented and comfortable. The Cafe on site is a great and all staff were friendly and efficient. This was our first stay, having been highly recommended by others, and will not be our last!

The place here is absolutely stunning. It's always a picturesque view no matter where you go in lake district, and these gardens just enhance that beauty. The walk was lovely, the alpaca walk was very friendly and exciting and the cafe is very clean and caring. I would highly recommend coming here if you're on holiday.

Love, love, love Lingholm! Our 11th year of returning, this time staying at the Lodge with family and friends. Outstanding accommodation and this year the added bonus of Fellside Sauna, providing the opportunity to look out on to the beautiful lake from the sauna and then taking a plunge in the water. Cafe super as always and staff very welcoming and attentive.

As always - Lingholm is a fabulous place to spend time. Walking straight out into the fells and then coming back to home from home deluxe accommodation. Seven days without any rain and great walks.

Brilliant location, beautiful surroundings with first class accommodation where nothing was missed to make us feel at home the minute we set foot inside. We all really enjoyed our stay.
