The Lingholm Estate

A superbly appointed apartment with almost everything you need for a relaxing break in the northern lake district. Only a couple of miles walk from Keswick, the theatre or a trip on the launch around Derwentwater. Breakfast at The Kitchen was superb, as was afternoon tea. We enjoyed lovely views of the lake and surrounding mountains whilst strolling through the extensive gardens and walked around most the the lake. I like a firm mattress, which was the only shortcoming on my list, but it didn't spoil our short sojourn. I highly recommend this as a base for time away and a wonderful change of scenery. Excellent staff, so delightful and attentive.

Just spent 7 fantastic days at Lingholm - Keepers Cottage. The accommodation and surrounds are absolutely 5 star with exclusive jetty access to Derwent Water and walking routes. The accommodation was immaculately presented on arrival and has plenty of space for families to enjoy inside and out. The Lingholm Kitchen also serves great food and is a great option for daytime meals or maybe just coffee away from the accommodation.||This was our 3rd visit so thanks again to Lingholm for another memorable family holiday!

This is a fantastic location, about 20 mins from the foot of Catbells near Keswick and right on Derwentwater just across from the town of Keswick. The nearest Keswick launch stop is Hawes End, which is a 20 min walk to the estate. We stayed in the Old Library, which is an apartment in the Big House. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, a living room/dining area, and a small balcony. There were 4 of us, and we had plenty of space. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. There is a restaurant on the estate which is fabulous. We'll definitely be back. Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay xx

Rosetrees is a lovely victorian house ideal for an inter generational family holiday. We had a wonderful time using all the facilities such as swimming from our own jetty on the lake shore, kayaking and badminton on the lawns of the house. The house was very comfortable with all mod cons. All in all a very relaxing and special holiday for a very special occasion.

Just wow. Stayed at Keeper with children and Elderly parents. Nothing is a problem with great attention to detail. Long journey from Brighton but worth every mile/minute. Can’t recommend enough. Great experience again.! Quality room [Lakeside View] in the Lingholm Estate.Our 3rd visit and no doubt not our last. From easy car parking to the beautiful grounds and excellent cafe. Beautiful views of mountains and the lake.

Having walked past Lingholm Estate en route to Cat Bells on many occasions (the alpacas) when I found out you could stay there I was very interested. The accommodation, restaurant and estate is excellent and should you choose to stay, you will not be disappointed. We used this as a base to access the lake and fells.

We have just returned from a long weekend at Lingholm in the Derwentwater apartment. It exceeded all of our expectations. Stunning lakeside location, beautiful well cared for and designed accommodation, plus of course the interesting connections with Beatrix Potter. Loved it so much we have just booked a return stay!
