Our favourite cocktail bar in the whole of Dublin. Massive selection of cocktails to choose from & enjoy in a beautifully created environment. If you're in Dublin it's simply a must, Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Google
A great basement bar located in the Temple Bar area of the city. Not the most obvious entrance to find but once spotted you head downstairs and enter a small but cosy basement cocktail bar. Low level subdued lighting sets the scene for a great place to hide away and enjoy some great drinks in a great atmosphere. A good range of drinks served by friendly table waiters. Seating can be limited due to the size of this place as well as the fact the tables can be reserved. You could easily turn up and find standing room only. One very slight negative was that some of the seating in the booth we sat in was in poor condition where the padding was missing from the seat. All in all a great bar and worth checking out.

Google
Really enjoyed the food, having had a burger and a few pints of-course. The ambience was awesome with some great live music. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have a fun night.

Google
Part of the Clarence Hotel you access via the quays / temple bar. Great cocktail bar. Cosy, dark, romantic vibe but great tables large enough for groups. Cocktails aren’t cheap by any means but expertly made in a cool venue, it’s definitely worth a visit for one or two. Mid-week evenings tend to be okay, crowd wise, but would suggest booking for large groups or for weekend nights! Tip: Always ask the staff for drink suggestions if you’re stuck / overwhelmed by menu options!

Google
Quaint and quiet speakeasy just off The Temple Bar and right on the River Liffey. The sign is located next to the door, but is small and indistinct. Use your map app or you may miss it. It appears The Liquors Room shares the space (shared, but distinct) with what looked like a hookah bar (I only got a glimpse thru an ajar door). The decor is vintage and well done. Not a large selection of Liquors. We ordered off the drink menu and they were good and not pricey. It is a nice place for a relaxing drink.

Google
Love this place! All drinks are named after famous women in history. The drinks are fantastic and I loved the service.

Google
Amazing atmosphere and the menu has an amazing choice. Though if you are not sure what you want let the staff know and they will whip something up to suit your tastes! Do make sure that you have an explore though and find the bear!

Google
We stumbled upon The Liquor Rooms while looking for a chill place for a cocktail. We were impressed with the creativity and selection of cocktails, the atmosphere alone is worth a visit and the staff were lovely. If we lived in Dublin we'd be here weekly.

Yelp
What a neat little find! The menu provides you the opportunity to see a flavor profile of a drink without necessarily being an expert on the ingredients. The way the cocktails are presented is very nice, and no attention to detail was spared when it came to the interior decoration. It's a must visit for a cocktail when on a trip to Dublin!

Yelp
Looking for a break from the usual Irish Pub scene? Well, beneath the U2-owned Clarence hotel is a speakeasy-type bar hidden away out of sight that is a real delight. It checks all the boxes of being downstairs, low ceilings, late Victorian decor, bartenders with beards and period clothing, etc. - plus a long list of mixology-type drinks. Let me description of the place sound like a slam. We had a really great time. There is a deep menu of drinks made from all kinds of stuff. We ordered all kinds of stuff and every drink was excellent. The prices were very reasonable as well. We sat on some comfy couches and there was a DJ plating some really great down tempo, yet still dance-able music. The hours flew by as we had an excellent time.

Yelp
I love this place! Every time we just go random for the cocktails with the best name ! The place is cosy, the cocktail menu is so special and there is a little terrasse on the back Quite crowded on saturday night for sure, but i mean... there is no many place like this in Dublin! The music: very good hype house, just what you need to chill and enjoy

Yelp
Meh... I dunno yes, the decor in here and the dark, alluring rooms make me very intrigued and I had this on my list to try for ages though when I did, I wasn't left completely 'OMG - need to come here all the time'. Food the time spent at the bar outweighed the time actually drinking and enjoying myself, yes they make premium cocktails but unfortunately without enough staff behind the bar, this just bottlenecks everything. I really feel, yes you're a cocktail bar and that's why I'm here but I do think many places just don't plan/resource properly. Music is great, it's a place yes I would recommend folk to go and check out as it's very quirky and unusual though, not recommended as an absolute, you must go to this place.

Yelp
So this watering hole is a little pricy; they used to do the most reasonably priced vino in Temple Bar, but they've upped the price by over a euro per class. That's why I'm frequenting TLR considerably less these days. The decor here is fab, the circus-themed main bar opens out into a vintage stage and dance floor, behind which sits nooks and crannies and a second bar - then head left out onto a little terrace-style space if you still haven't found a seat. It's all so spacious and romantic! The attention to detail regarding the eclectic furnishings is beautiful, second only to their divine cocktails - all of which are made effortlessly by their talented staff. The atmosphere varies from being quite quiet on weekdays to a bustling, warm hub on weekend nights. I'd like to see a more varied food menu, but that's mainly because once I'm in the Liquor Rooms, I'm there for the night and rarely want to leave.

Yelp
This is kind of hidden, We accidentally stumbled upon it. Great speak easy type ambiance. Love the decor, like a circus in the 20's. Had a martini for $19e and hubby had a beer for $6, kind of an expensive night cap but nice bar to soak in. After a spell a young lady set up her guitar and started singing in the other room. Another nice touch. We enjoyed.

Yelp
The new hip bar in the basement of The Clarence. Here for opening night, we were treated to either a soft drink, a tiger beer or a glass of punch upon arrival. Punch please! Oh, it's a glass of juice with either no or very little Liquor. Ironic. We plonked ourselves down at the bar in the first room when some people left. And this is pretty much where we stayed, propping up the bar for the rest of the night. Which was good, I was less self conscious at the bar and not amongst the beautiful elite of Dublin. I was informed it was a bar going for similar clientèle as what the Bernard Shaw had and that the dress code would be casual... oh no it wasn't. Eek, the people here wouldn't be out of place in Milk & Honey or Zenna in London. The decor reminded me of the Vintage Cocktail Club, as did the cocktail menu. My favourite of the rooms being the first, which looked like you were in a tent. The drawback being the air-con wasn't turned on in this room as a result. It was very warm. Back to the Liquor, I spent the night trying out a few cocktails and I was impressed. I was also impressed with the prices, which were not as expensive as the VCC. And the barman was very attentive, the cocktails didn't take near as long to be made as they do in the VCC. They were all fantastic truth be told. The stand outs for me were the French Martini and some called the Lazy Suzie Douzie... ok I know its not called that. But you'll know it when you see it on the menu. For the cocktails, I am a fan. For the decor and atmosphere, it's not really me. Best of luck though, it was only opening night and I'm sure it'll be a star in the trendy bar scene of Dublin.

Yelp
Hands down best bar I've ever been to, and I've been to some great cocktail bars. Our server (wish I got his name) made spot on recommendations for us and he was very knowledgeable. I also tried their most adventurous drink that included whiskey, port, fernet, and balsamic vinegar and it was AMAZING. I also love that their entire menu was dedicated to bad ass women in Ireland's history. These guys/ gals know what they are doing!!!
google avatar

Catalina H.

Yelp
I tried four different cocktails (ok 2, but then I swapped with my companion ) and they were all good...amazingly good. The vintage vibe, velvet decor, music and cozy corners make this place perfect for a date night. Long story short: I'll definitely come back and try more cocktails.

Yelp
Walked by the Liquor Room during a stroll through Dublin recently. The entrance was very unassuming and the word liquor stood out in a city where Guinness flows like water. We decided to come back after dinner and absolutely blown away by the decor and the atmosphere. We were immediately greeted by a Angelo (the bartender) and he took great care of us. The cocktails and the service was so good, we returned the next day. I love it! Keep doing what you are doing!

Yelp
In a City where they bring you a bottle of ginger-ale when you order a Jameson and ginger, I almost cried happy tears when we happened upon this magical downstairs, craft-cocktail oasis. We were walking down the street and I was drawn in by the lovely wallpaper going down the stairs. We walked down and entered the a room that felt like it was right out of a vintage circus story-classy and colorful. My drink was made frothy with egg-white and was delicately but not overly sweetened. Upon going through the curtain, yes a striped curtain, To go to what is arguably the prettiest bathroom in Dublin I stepped into another gorgeous room. This room has a stage where burlesque is performed, because sometimes good things happen and life is fair, and pretty, and perfectly old-fashioned and hip at the same time. Do they serve food? No idea. Would I spend all my free time here if I live in Dublin? Yes, a thousand times yes!

Yelp
Just to reiterate : gem of a place! Popped in for chats, a few drinks and some food the day after St Patrick's Day. It was surprisingly quiet (everyone must have been recovering from the night before) and we had our pick of seats. We sat by the bar and chatted to the staff when it was empty. They were very lively and very helpful in recommending drinks and we were very well taken care of. The chicken wing marinade is delicious so definitely give them a whirl.

Yelp
This place is so beautiful! It has such gorgeous decor, lovely and dimly lit inside and it's very cool yet cosy. The cocktail menu is amazing, such an extensive list of cocktails and not a bad deal for the price either! Their staff are super friendly and accommodating, looking forward to coming back here soon!

Yelp
Pre dinner drinks. A wonderful spot to sit back relax and enjoy a selection of craft bottled beer or some crafty cocktails.. Well themed and I did not feel that my wallet had been gouged. We will be back.

Yelp
At least once a month my fiancé and I do a date night. We try to pick restaurants we haven't been to before and the list is growing!!!! Before we went for dinner we visited The Liquor Rooms on Wellington Quay (entrance we used is beside The Clarence Hotel and you could easily miss the little sign on the door. Had two really good drinks here. I had Doc's Gigglewater (Martell VS, Rosemary & lemon cordial, grapefruit bitters & soda water) and a French Martini (Vodka, Chambord & pineapple juice) Fiancé had a bottle of Williams Bros Birds and Bees beer and also their Roisin beer (made from Tayberries)

Yelp
Speakeasy type bar next to The Clarence in Temple Bar. It's pretty fun to walk down into the bar area (feels very exclusive). There is plenty of seating for people and a fun cocktail menu. It was based on women leaders - each one has a cocktail. The cocktails were very good, service was pleasant and we also enjoyed their extensive liquor selection and draft beer. The only downside is that it's very dark (adds to the cool vibe) so it's sort of hard to read the menu. We enjoyed the bar and would definitely come here again!

Yelp
I love this place and usually the service is really good. It was a busy night I think they there was a function or something on. I bought a glass of their house red. Half way through drinking I got a mouthful of sediment. I looked in my glass and it was full of it. I then remembered the bar woman giving me the end of the bottle. I can deal with a bit of sediment, but what I can't deal with is a rude bar woman telling me there is nothing wrong with sediment in wine. I know very well there is nothing wrong with it, I work in the industry myself. But IT'S NOT MEANT TO BE IN THE GLASS!!! This bar women proceeded to tell me that they are a cocktail bar not a wine bar, oh so you can't pour a glass of wine? Don't sell it if you don't know how to pour it! I'm somewhat a regular here, and usually have a really nice experience. I love the venue, I often chat to the security when out for a smoke. They even offer you an umbrella when it's raining. The bar service is usually really good and they are all very polite. They have a great selection of wines and an immense selection of cocktails. And the place has a great vibe about it. Their bathroom are so nice too.

Yelp
Greatest cocktail bar in Dublin. Amazing ambiance underground. Feels like you are in a circus tent. Great for date or groups.

Yelp
Great place to have a few relaxed drinks! Their drink menu is amazing and your spoiled for choice! Staff are lovely and venue is so cool!

Yelp
Very cool place in the heart of Dublin. It was a great post-dinner stop for us. They have a bunch of different rooms in the place, all with cool and comfortable seating arrangements. A solid cocktail menu with enough choice for any palate. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a craft cocktail in the Dublin area.
google avatar

Jesse P.

Yelp
Great cocktail bar in the heart of Dublin. No need to wait to get in like similar cocktail bars found in Montreal or New York. They have quite an extensive cocktail list, with some interesting names. The decor is great, just not a fan of the music. This is the place to be in Dublin, if you are looking for cocktails. If you are from Montreal, the walk down the stairs may remind you of Flyjin.
google avatar

Eoghan Ó.

Yelp
Hands down best cocktails in Dublin, much better than the vcc in my opinion, a nice relaxed atmosphere. I personally enjoy sitting at the bar and watching the cocktails getting made. Chatting to the bartenders who are always in good spirits (pun intended).

Yelp
Was at the official opening of The Liquor Rooms last night, a new addition to Wellington Quay located in the basement of The Clarence. At first glance, it does appear quite swanky but on closer inspection on the decor, everything seems to clash - from their gold metallic ceilings, to floral printed walls with 1800s portraits, to fireplaces on other walls etc. It all seemed a bit harsh at first but sorta worked after the lights dimmed down a bit further (or maybe I just got more inebriated). There are four rooms: the Black Rabbit, the Blind Tiger, the Mayflower and the Boom Room - you wouldn't know which one you were in though. I was in the room with the DJ - music was unobtrusive allowing for conversation; and plenty of seating which is great. The selection of beer on tap was a bit dismal - with the likes of Tiger, Paulaner, Coors Light although I gathered it's more a cocktail sort of place (didn't try them but they did look good). 3 pints of Tiger and a half pint of Paulaners came to €18.50 so beer prices seem to be standard. Good mix of crowd from mid 20s to early 40s - none of the Tallafornia type but as this is only the launch night, it could change... *shudder* All in all, I think it deserves 3.5 stars... it's trying (a little too) hard for my own taste but could be a nice place for a drink especially in the colder months.
google avatar

Aoife M.

Yelp
I know it's only been open a week but I've already popped in twice. Ooops! I'm really loving the atmosphere with really friendly bar staff, and more shockingly, lovely doormen! The decor is really quirky, think cirque noir meets Bedouin tent and the music is a great mix played at a loud enough but not obtrusive volume. I tried a couple of cocktails which are just as good as the VCC but a bit cheaper ( not much mind you!) All in I'm really just hopeful it's not taken over by Prada sporting daddy's money types as it could be a great addition to the dublin scene.
google avatar

Patrick D.

Yelp
Good points: Lovely decor.. reasonable prices.. nice cocktails. Bad points: Freezing cold, (no heating) DJ is too loungey.. music not upbeat enough.. Women put off by lack of energy on dancefloor Cockfest insues.
google avatar

Alexandra C.

Yelp
I went to the Liquor Rooms with a group from work as part of our Christmas party. Amanda made it easy to plan the event, suggesting a prosecco punch bowl (totally worth it--they serve the punch in tea cups out of a silver punch bowl) and a selection of snacks for everyone. The chicken wings are amazing. Although they were for a large group, they were still crunchy and perfectly hot. The decor was very cool with vintage fireplaces on one wall and lots of things to look at. There were also lots of nice and cozy corners if you wanted to bring a date. Overall a great experience; I will definitely be returning.
google avatar

Grace L.

Yelp
The decor the vibe the dimly lit rooms all good things! However I initially visited the Liquor rooms for a friends birthday and staff had reserved us the seats in the kind of inside/outside area (Baltic) I wanted to be inside sitting in a plush warm red velvet arm chair! I would definitely return for a couple of post work drinks or something like that, but maybe not the spot to be drinking in all night because the drinks are very pricey. Delicious yes! but very expensive for Dublin.
google avatar

Blaine D.

Yelp
Once you walk into this bar you don't feel as though you're in Dublin. With its velvet armchairs and dim lighting, the liquor rooms remind you of some sort of speak easy. The cocktails were well made by bartenders who really looked the part. I opted for a whiskey sour but the menu is quite extensive and has something for every palette. Would recommend but I'd also advise to book a table before going as finding a seat can be difficult.
google avatar

Jeff K.

Yelp
If they could get rid of the grease smell from the fryer this place would be perfect.
google avatar

Keith M.

Yelp
A lovely spot if you're looking for a few after work drinks! Brilliant place to bring a date if you want to pretend that you have class. Although I brought an Italian girl here once and she wouldn't shut up about how tacky it was. Is it tacky? I'm not sure. I don't really know what the word tacky actually means...
google avatar

Carol Ann V.

Yelp
This place was a really cool circus themed Speakeasy. The drinks were excellent but the service was really slow. Their menu is massive but really creative. It's a big space and wasn't that crowded when we went. Definitely recommend stopping in for a fancy cocktail!
google avatar

Ellen S.

Yelp
I like the liquor rooms before midnight, when it's not overly packed and you are still able to grab a table somewhere. The dim light, the red velvet...it's like being transferred to a french boudoir in the 19th century. Their cocktail menu is so much fun...really original creations and each cocktail comes with a little table showing how sweet/ bitter/ sour/ boozy it is. Prices range from 10 to 12 euro more or less. I often go for a glass of prosecco though, for 6 euro... BARGAIN!
google avatar

Geraldine C.

Yelp
The Liquor Rooms, it has to be said, literally puts the "Ooo" in cOool, and calls an end to the trend of boring minimalist decor that is raging through Dublin bars today. It seems like it's still a bit undiscovered because when I went there it was pretty quiet (it was a week day though, so the cool kids were probably stuck inside being made do their homework by the threatening mother with the wooden spoon), but even through the awkward emptiness of the place, I could still see its potential. Once you teeter down the long narrow stairway and soak up the old-school, theatrical decor inside, you really do feel like you've just stepped into a totally different world where dj sets belong upon little vintage pianos, and the fronts of bar counters are carpeted. But like "Cat O." said before me, the drinks here don't come cheap. For me The Liquor Rooms would be more the kind of place I'd bring a tired foreign visitor who has just gotten off a 7hour plane journey. We'd go for a drink and leave it at that (because I'm conscious that he/she must be exhausted); thus portraying Dublin as a hip-n-happnin' joint, without having to break the bank or feel stingy (because you have brought them to a nice place, afterall) ..And if you don't have any impending visits from foreign friends on the cards, this should still be a go-to if you feel like treating yourself to something special. Equally, if you're in need of some cool background setups to bump up your facebook profile pic then this is the place for you.

Yelp
Sat at one of the very comfy benches on the side of the bar. The bartender was attentive and friendly. Drinks were good.
google avatar

Heidi H.

Yelp
This is a great bar, because it has a truly European feel, and definitely differentiates itself from the rest of the Dublin bar scene by remaining mostly true to its 25+ age range, and pricing its cocktails at a point that will tend to cater to a certain crowd. What I loved about this place was the cozy feel of all the different rooms, and a really great, old world décor that is classic and retro, without being over the top and little cheesy like some other large bars that are trying too hard tend to be. It had the feel of the Bowery Hotel in New York with the atmosphere and style of the furnishings. The cocktails were good and strong, and the music was great. It's a 25+ bar, but the crowd I'd say is decisively older, averaging closer to early/mid-thirties, and to be honest, it is a little odd having a DJ front and centre in the back room, with no obvious dancefloor. This tends to create random little pockets of people dancing in areas that you just want to walk through. If they'd have atleast one small open area, it might take some of the crowds out of the other areas that tend to be squashed along the tables. This wouldn't be a place I would spend an entire night at, but if I was on a date looking for somewhere low-key and loungey to go to, I'd definitely come here for a few drinks to cap off the night.
google avatar

Aisha C.

Yelp
Wasn't really feeling this place. I've only been once and i wasn't in a cocktail mood. That's just my experience but i would revisit again when i'm feeling a lil fancy. It was dark-classy-cocktail place Beware of the lamps though....your backpack may get hooked on them.

Mark F.

Yelp
Was headed for the Bison Bar but started here. Great atmosphere, big comfy chairs, lamps, good service, cheap enough beer and Guinness, particularly in this neck of the woods, but the wine seemed a bit steep. It is a hidden downstairs little gem and while I didn't try the cocktails I will definitely give one a go next time. It was Friday night and empty enough. Would definitely recommend if you want something which is neither a pub or modern swanky bar/hotel bar.
google avatar

Etienne B.

Yelp
I really loved the concept with a mix of vintage, natural and new art atmosphere! Even if it's a trendy place, you are not watched from your shoes till your hair which is a very good point because you can feel confortable! Beers and whiskeys are good but don't expect to have a great choice (the same for wine). The staff is very nice and the music matches the atmosphere! Excellent for an afterwork!
google avatar

Jacqueline K.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place as the entrance is really discreet. Walk down the steps under the sign that says "liquor" and you are taken to another world.  Crushed red velvet, taxidermy animals, and bespoke cocktails made to your hearts desire.  Look out for the handcuffs, gun, and whip at the main bar and ask the story behind each! Take some time to read about all of the women in the menu as well, you may be inspired by some of their actions ;)
google avatar

John A.

Yelp
We found this place by accident, strolling along the river and came up to a simple sign that said liquors and a carpeted staircase leading to a basement. When we opened the door we were amazed. It was refreshing to find a speakeasy type in Dublin. It was all craft cocktails and beers and felt like we were on a movie set. Additional sections were closed off at this hour - but upon peaking through they were also amazing atmosphere - especially the rose garden set in the very back corner.
google avatar

Daniela H.

Yelp
How could I miss that place before??! Lovely decoration, very comfy seating areas with couches, nice staff and good price value for the drinks. It actually turned into a night club kinda thing with dance floor and electronic music - we didn't plan to stay all night, but sure - there was no reason to leave! Liquors room, I'll be back :)
google avatar

C F.

Yelp
Pros: - good vibe, mixed crowd and not too "dressy" - the decor is colorful; borders between elegant and cartoonish Cons: - bar can get a bit crowded which means waiting

Shan R.

Yelp
The security here are a nightmare. 200 questions to get in. Grabbed a piece of tissue out of my hand as I was about to blow my nose because they thought it was drugs (I think). I would be angrier but they had to touch my snotty tissue. Drinks are expensive, no smoking area and freezing all the time. Left and went to workman's after the incident with the security but it was fairly empty the whole night
google avatar

Tracy S.

Yelp
In a city known for its pubs, this was a pleasant discovery. Everything was very thoughtfully designed, from the bar itself to the menu. The bartenders were friendly, but seemed a little too focused on talking with each other, rather than interacting with and helping the customers. That being said, the drinks are very well-made and you can enjoy it is a very warm and welcoming atmosphere.
google avatar

Brendan W.

Yelp
I was at a party in this place on Saturday night. Heard great things about the cocktails and the bar in general. Cocktails were average and over priced. Door staff very friendly. Bar staff kinda friendly. Decor was nice enough. This place really is not my cup of tea to be honest but if I hear good things about cocktails and they are average and over priced imma gonna be annoyed. I'm annoyed. Won't be back.

Yelp
Happened to visit the delightful Liquor Rooms rather early on a Tuesday evening, as part of the joyous celebration extravaganza for the anniversary of my wonderful girlfriends day of birth. Upon arrival in the decadent circus tent themed venue, it took our eyes a few minutes to adjust to the rather low level of light in the room. However, once our eyes returned to full cat like 20/20 vision, we perused the substantial cocktail menu and made our choices. I opted for the 'Redleg Rebellion' which was certainly a treat for my discerning palate, whilst my beautiful partner ordered and fully enjoyed the devilishly named 'Wild Bishop's Love Child.' For our second cocktail of the evening, I selected the 'Bottom of the Barrel' cocktail, a wicked, whiskey based cocktail, whilst my delightful lady friend plumped for the 'Docs Giggle Water', which she thoroughly enjoyed. We could have stayed for the entire evening, indulging in these magnificently crafted beverages of the gods until our hearts were content and our livers inflamed, but alas, we are actually quite poor and couldn't really bloody afford to. I knocked a few stars off the rating, as our waitress forgot to give us straws with our drinks which is forgivable in a normal bar, but not in a venue where drinks cost €10+ a go. Also, I encountered some confusion about being part of some sort of show when I visited the water closet and was forced to return to the bar via a back entrance. There also may, or may not have been ghosts in the bar. There were two different soundtracks being played too, which was a bit feckin irritating. Sort it out Bono!!!
google avatar

Molly P.

Yelp
Awesome cocktails! This was a surprise hidden gem we stumbled upon while walking to The Temple Bar. It has a speakeasy vibe and herbal and fruit infused cocktails.
google avatar

Jennifer K.

Yelp
I have only been here once, and the reason that the rating is only A-OK is because a few things were great and a few things weren't. The place is cool, open, but kind of windy and there are a few half levels which were good for people watching and the space in general was designed well for talking. However you get instantly turned off from buying drinks at the bar because you can see exactly how long the queue is, and to be honest lots of us were turned off the long queue for expensive cocktails. So arrive early or pre-drink plenty! We went for a birthday party, with a booked space and once we got there found that a lot of people couldn't get in because they had decided to make it over 25s. Apparently this was a new thing, maybe just for that night, but 25 seems excessive. However Workmans is next door, so at least you have a back up if you aren't allowed in. Finally, they put corn dogs on their menu for snack food! Very cool.
