The Little York

After hearing so many people rave about this place, I had to check it out. We came late afternoon on a Saturday, and we’re luckily seated right away. The service was excellent. I would say this is elevated bar food. The wings were phenomenal, as was the pizza and the Smashburger. They have a wide variety of items on their menu. They had a lot of specials that sounded excellent, as well. I heard the steaks are great, however, all the sizes of the steaks are quite large. Overall, great experience, if I’m in the area, I would definitely not hesitate to come back here.

I found this place using Google Maps searching for “Lamb Chops” near me. This place popped up. Since I was traveling I-78 heading towards York County, Pennsylvania. I figured what a coincidence. I stopped by. Pleasant atmosphere, nice staff, but to my disappointment “No Lamb Chops” that day. I took my chances and tried their menu. I’m glad I did. The food was amazingly delicious!! Charred garlic broccoli, homemade mashed potatoes, and a wine sauced lemon chicken. Everything was amazing! I highly recommend if you’re in the area check this place out.

This place was a great find! I highly recommend the teriyaki wings! I also had a plain cheese bar pie. My friend had the cauliflower crust bar pie and she said it was delicious. Our server was amazing and the entire staff were very attentive. This is a definitely must do again and again and again. The drinks were perfect too!

The Little York was recommended to us on a recent trip to Upper Black Eddy, PA. They caught our attention with their specials, so we decided to give them a try. I'm so glad we went! We started off with their apple walnut salad, which was big enough to share, and the beef short rib and potato soup. It was the best combination for such a cold fall day. The smash burger was juicy, flavorful, the fries were crispy and seasoned well, but the chicken thighs with charred pineapple... OH MY GOD. I substituted the potato for the broccoli and I was so happy I did. Every bite packed a ton of flavor and everything was cooked perfectly. Sadly, the thighs were on the menu with the specials, but I surely hope they will consider cooking them full time. It was definitely worth the drive over the bridge! Moving on to desserts, what do we do when we can't pick between two of them? We get them both, of course. We had the pumpkin tiramisu and the bourbon peach pie. I'm not a huge fan of whipped cream but theirs tasted really fresh! Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Good food, good people. Just wish they were closer to us so we would visit more often.

We had a fantastic time at Little York. This location includes a bar and a very cozy sit down area to enjoy a meal. Our waitress Kelly was excellent. We ordered a margarita pizza and the penne vodka and pleased with both. The Local Sunken Silo Marzen Lager beer is terrific. Overall this is as good as it gets when it comes to eating locally sourced ingredients and meats. I highly recommend trying them out and we will certainly be back.

I’ve heard about this place for a while and finally met with a friend to try it out. It’s an active place popular with locals it seems. Parking is in the rear in the side and maybe across the street . Gets fairly crowded by 1:30 .. My friend had the special fried chicken sandwich which he liked a lot. He did think the fries were as good as elsewhere. My wrap was okay not terrific but okay. Being on a low fat diet there was little that didn’t have cheese , bacon or fried on the menu . My suggestion is they need to consider that . I’d say try it !

I personally went there for my birthday. I am happy to say that Samantha a.k.a. Sam was awesome in her service. Not to mention that soup oh Lord, I had a black bean soup with chili in it. I don’t remember the name, but it was totally awesome, then for my birthday I requested a Margherita pizza., And I was a little skeptical about it, but when I received it, Oh my Lord, it was it Delicious and yes, fresh mozzarella, and the thin crust which made it even more attractive. I recommend it! By the way, they have a few screens you can watch sports ,. Totally satisfied, and will return to my new little Haven😀😀 Sincerely, Charlie

It has been a long time since I visited the Little York. Wow, is it fantastic! The food, the service, the people. Try a Ribeye. Their steaks are better than most "Steak Houses". They have an assortment of local beer on tap. The staff and bar tenders are delightful.

Foods awesome ! Really like the little York pizza, the burger with tallow fries. The kids meal is huge! They were also able accommodate our need for high chair and booster. Only wish they have a folding changing table in feg bathroom .

I am so impressed! This is a local, friendly pub set in a very old building in the middle of farm country, Hunterdon County. People must come from all over the county to dine here because it is always packed on a Friday and Saturday night. However, do not let that deter you at all. The owner, who usually greets you when you first arrive, is super sweet and is also a genius. She's come up with the idea to take your drink order as soon as she takes your name for the waitlist. She has an amazing memory and can find you to bring you your drinks wherever you choose to wait. They have a small amount of space inside to wait and a cute little porch outside. It makes the time pass more quickly. Your pre-meal drink order gets transferred to your table check so there's no settling of payment until you're done with your entire meal. It's so simple but so brilliant!! The food here is awesome. Whether you're in the mood for standard pub fare such as burgers and wings or if you're interested in a more elevated food experience, as featured in their specials menu, you cannot go wrong. The chef/cooks here are very capable! On our most recent visit, we had two specials. One was my choice of cut of a pork chop. I went with the tomahawk. I've had very expensive cuts of pork at higher-end restaurants and none have ever been cooked as perfectly as here! They're cooking pork "medium" nowadays, which is what they did here. While it is a little hard getting used to, this pork was ultra tender, juicy and flavorful! I asked them to sub in the broccoli from another special for my veggie side and I'm so glad I did. It was charred with a little balsamic and Parmesan cheese. Fantastic. Also, they are very accommodating. If they are able to sub, they will. My husband got the French dip special and it was out of this world. Served on toasted garlic bread. Delicious. We shared a cannoli and had cappuccinos for dessert. Both were great. All portions are huge and the prices are unreal! All of the waiters and waitresses have always been very friendly and capable. Can't wait to come back for apps and bar food - their wings look ridiculously good!

I had ordered a 1/2 tray of eggplant rollatini form here for a party I was going to just upthe road. I had be er been there before but I definitely felt welcomed when I arrived. I called in the order for 4:00 and the girl asked me if I could come earlier because they get busy around 5. I couldn't because the wort was literally less than 2 miles away and started at 4 ish. Then my cousin changed the time of her party to 5 so I called asking to move it up til later and was told no problem. When we arrived to pick up the place was jumping. There were people sitting outside and the bar area was packed as well as the tables in the dining room. The hostess directed me to the bar to pick up my food. The girl processed the check and told me it was so hot and that she'd bring the tray out to my car. That was very sweet of her. Onto the party. We all LOVED the eggplant. I'll definitely be back for dining in as we heard that their burgers are really good. I was surprised how busy it was on a Saturday Night at 5:00. Must be really good all around.

Ambiance 5, Service 4, Today's food 3. Just because you call it corned beef, doesn't mean that it is. We went here specifically because they had corned beef and cabbage on the menu. We had such high hopes until we were served bottom round instead of brisket. It took us half the meal to figure out what was off. Was it the texture? the flavor? Both? i thought it was chuck roast, but the server confirmed, after insisting it was "corned beef", that it was indeed bottom round. I've liked everything I've had here, until tonight's offering. Of course, they are selling it, so somebody must be buying it. I just wish that we knew before we ordered and we would have selected something else.

First timer and certainly not the last. We arrived around 5:30 thinking we would get a table immediately. So wrong! The place was jammed packed which is always a good indication - filled with families and couples. We immediately were approached by the hostess who took our name and drink order. She was phenomenal! I watched her flit around tending to everything and everyone. Once we were seated we were immediately approached by our waitress who took our drink order. Our food arrived quickly and hot and, delicious. And in these times of high prices, The Little York is surprisingly well priced. I would like to rename this spot as The Little Gem!

The Little York is a very busy place. We were seated immediately and our server took our orders quickly. I am a big fan of their "smash burger", which is delicious and large. Fresh cut French fries are great. Little York is somewhat crowded and noisy. My recommendation is to go early, before 5.

Little York is the absolute best! Extra cheese, well done I used to live around the corner up the mountain and loved being able to come all the time. Definitely worth checking out!

Went here for our 28th anniversary tonight. Drove up from Asbury Park. Bit of a drive but totally worth it. This little place is awesome. Its affordable, the food is excellent quality, it comes out fast and perfect. Our server was the best(you shoulda tried the cracklins!) We started with potato leek soup, awesome and smooth, home made fresh all the way, also got the ricotta naan flatbread which was incredible, love that they use local cheese, it makes a real difference. Also got the chicken cracklins, surprisingly great! Main meals we got chicken picatta and chicken parm . Both were perfect portions. Then went for dessert, limoncello cake and vanilla caramel cake. Limoncello was the winner by a small margin. Ill be driving 73 miles back there as soon as possible. Beautiful location in the middle of nowhere.

Every once in a while, you try a place and it checks ALL of the boxes. I stopped here and was surprised at the crowd. So I says to myself-I says; "This should be good". Mozzarella sticks are just mozzarella sticks, right? WRONG! These were just fantastic! The soup-great! Pork chop dinner-great! Penne Vodka-great. Everything...GREAT! It had a fun vibe and you can tell a lot of people come here to socialize. Someone told us, "you've gotta try the PIZZA!" Don't let me down...I'll be back! This place is a gem. Enjoy!

This is a hidden gem. Excellent food, good ambience, and good value. The hamburgers and pizza are delicious, and the other items are very good as well.

The food and the ambience were great .Our waitress was very attentive and on point .Always wanted to come to the Little York and finally got here .It is my new spot in Hunterdon County .Lived in Clinton for 4 years and love it here .

This establishment rocks ! It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, but .. if you do find it perhaps when driving round rustic new jersey you can enjoy some really good food. It get crowded so there might be a wait for a table . Very cozy and atmospheric , very nice . I plan to return one day , if can remember how to get there !

We love Little York! Best burgers and steak in Hunterdon county. The owners are friendly and the ingredients are always local and fresh. Highly recommend!!!!

Great food and great service ! Had the wings and a pizza and my husband had a smash burger. Was all delicious .. just kinda wish they had a drink menu (if there was one we weren't given one )

Big shout out to Carlie and staff for their outstanding management and customer service and to " chef " for his superb creations!! " A mouth full of deliciousness guaranteed!!! Highly recommend!!

This as a total find while trying to find a place to eat in Milford, NY on Super Bowl Sunday. Our meal was fantastic and the service was incredible. Definitely on our list of favorites!

This place is a gem! The food was delicious! There are many menu selections including gluten free options! Great atmosphere and friendly owners and staff. I can't wait to go back!

Nice and comfy joint. Lovely ambiance. Our server was excellent. Only reason 4 and not 5 was our scallops app was something out of a Costco box. Super small and scallops were not flavored in any sense. The salad that came with main course was wilting and looked to have been prepped and left in fridge for hours. The steaks we had were spot on. Delicious and cooked med and med rare to perfection. And large. We each brought half of our main course home. Drinks were good and price was more than fair. Definitely will be back. Looking forward to going back!!

Food was only just ok in my opinion. I had a pizza special (taco pizza), friends had a burger, chicken with pasta, and a fried chicken sandwich. Every thing looked great, but the pizza crust wasn't for me. I like thin crust and I'm all about different flavors, but I didn't like the end crust because it was too dry which is always my decision maker for good pizza. The chicken on the fried chicken sandwich and in the pasta meals was good. The specialty drink was nothing fancy, but ok. Service was good and we didn't have to wait as long as I expected on a Sunday night at 5. The price was really reasonable for the food and portions. I'd rather pay more for better quality even if there are smaller portions. It's a bar, so for bar food, better than expected, but the smell of a bar and the bar atmosphere is still there. May come back and try other options.

The Little York never seems to find a niche for itself, or at least one it does well or decently at. The pizza has always fell flat. From the sauce to the cheese, it doesn't sit well in the stomach. Their hot subs were unconventionally small and not what one would expect it to.

The Little York in Milford is one of those places I've passed by for 5 or so years and always say "I've got to try it." Finally did try it last night. We got dinners and apps, but wanted to split the bar pie to give it a try. New owners bought late last year and kept the pizza the same as it had been for 20 years or so, except they changed the cheese. A very solid bar pie. Thin, great crust (not too "cracker-y"), sauce was good as was the cheese. The dinners were exceptional. They butcher their own meat in-house and the strip steak and the double cut pork chop were phenomenal. Great spot for sure!

Consistently great food . Place is busy, so great if you go early. Anything meat is recommended. The owner prides himself on quality butchering. Pizza is also above average

i haven't been here in years. ordered take out today for lunch & was very happy. the bar pie is delicious as hell. got 2 salads. a cobb & a caesar. the caesar was a little small but tasted good! i also got a buffalo chicken wrap, it was a little soggy, so next time i'll ask for sauce on side. otherwise the flavor was good !

One of the very few BEST restaurants in Hunterdon and Bucks Counties...Steaks, fresh seafood, pizza, pasta, you name it. And the atmosphere is quaint, with excellent service to boot! So many liked the original owners, as did I! I believe the new wife and husband owners did an amazing job - preserving original and stepping it up a few notches along the way!! Salut!

Visit after visit the Little York delivers. From their chicken parm dinner to the cheese curds on the appetizer special....wow. If your lucky enough to be there when they have the cheeseburger soup, do yourself a favor and try it. From the atmosphere, the staff, the service and the food...this is my kinda 5 star place.

This is a new favorite place! The food is great and the service is even better. We love this place and go about once or twice a week. You gotta try it!

The food is excellent they have a wonderful drink selection and the can accommodate any size Party definitely a must go to for Lunch or dinner. Their dessert's are scrumptious . And Their Steaks melt in your mouth.

The best burger and wings around! Also the ribeye is "gorgeous" like it is described on the menu. A weekly stop for me!

Excellent food/ fabulous service - it's our hometown eatery- kind of like "Cheers" where the locals go! - we love it here. Downside is it gets VERY busy so go early!

Been passing this place for years. Last night was running late from work and decided to call ahead and place a pickup order just before closing time. Walked in and was surprised. Nice lively bar with an upscale menu for diners. Friendly staff. Food was delish (porterhouse pork-chop with sweet mash and garlic mussels. Will def be back.

What a treasure! Had the most wonderful meal here! Probably one of the best if not the best burger and fries I have ever had!! It was the smash fried onion burger- amazing! And great hand cut fries! Steak was amazing - so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Whipped ricotta with honey was the best! Hoping to stop by one more time before I leave New Jersey!!!

The food is incredible but make sure you get there early because this place gets packed! It's a lovely stone building with a great porch. I've hired them to cater events as well and they went above and beyond.

Little York is one of my favorite new places to go since moving to the Holland area! Every time we've gone the place is always busy, but the service is always great. We've had quite a few dishes on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. The parking can be a little difficult at times, but the roads are typically not busy so it's not difficult if you have to wait for a spot.

Ordered carry out from here while I was staying at a nearby Airbnb. Really solid food. Crispy buffalo chicken pizza was great, but we had already filled up on the truly amazing crispy cauliflower bites that they had on special.

Such a great, off the beaten path, place! I go there regularly and between the chill atmosphere , amazing staff and super cool owners, you feel like you're in your own dining room. The food is on point, restaurant is really clean. I have yet to bump into an unfriendly customer or staff member. You can pick your own table, which for me and my service dog is super important. I'd go there multiple times a week if I could. Thank you little York for the great experiences.

Cannot say enough great things about this spot. Staff super friendly and the food is AMAZING. The wings beat every other spot and the steaks beat even the best steakhouse you have ever been to. We moved near here about a year ago and while other spots are good ~ nothing beats the Little York!! You must go!!!

New ownership does not seem to affect the quality of the atmosphere nor the food. Which is as well regarded as ever since there seems to be a robust takeout demand as well as blossoming indoor service. 10/10 would recommend!

I had a longish wait for a pickup order (ok for me), but I realized why when I got there and the place was packed! The service was still excellent and the food was as well- haven't had Italian food that good in a long time. highly recommend the bar pie pizza. Nice place- highly recommended.

Haven't been there is 25 years when it was a dive at best. Today, wow! Beautiful inside, great service, food, bar, ambiance. Everyone loved the food. Mahi-Mahi, linguine with clams, steak. Very impressed. Will go back again soon and this is now a go to place.

Great food & cocktails staff is friendly. Great soup, salads appetizer & entree choices. Cocktails are great too.

Nice little bar and surprisingly family friendly eating area. Food is good, workers seemed ok, kinda took them a while to become inviting, don't know, maybe they were short staffed that day. Food was good and reasonably priced. It has been sometime between this visit and my prior visits, it's just that the pizza didn't seem to be as great as I remembered it to be, it's still good just not as great. Anyhow, I'm glad it's in the neighborhood and wish them the best of luck. I will be going back.

With the power out in Bethlehem township, we finally had the push to try this place we needed. So thankful for JCP&L's slow response! Really wonderful pizza and very kind people at Little York. Thin crust pizza was very similar to the old Miller's in Annandale. Family throughly enjoyed the pizza by candle light. We will definitely be back to sample some more of their stuff.

Pizza, wings, salad-- are excellent. It is very hard to find pizza that does not flop. Crispy and delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This well known spot, popular for years with the locals, changed hands in the fall of 2020, right in the midst of the whole Covid tribulations. We were very pleasantly surprised by our re-visit - bright and friendly atmosphere, professional service, great beer, wine and food choices and excellent execution of some of the classics (pizza, wings etc). Their onion rings are exceptional! A real neighborhood treasure. Congratulations guys!
