How My Family Fell in Love With Ireland’s Grand Hotels, Falconry, and the World’s Best Bread and Butter

"A welcoming coastal eatery in Waterville known for strong seafood offerings — in particular, a terrific seafood pie that made a favorable impression during a Ring of Kerry drive. It’s presented as a reliable stop for hearty, well-executed local seafood while sightseeing." - Peter Terzian Peter Terzian Peter Terzian is the features editor of Travel + Leisure, where he has been on staff since 2017. The best food in our three days in Ireland so far. My starters came after the entrees, but they were worth the wait. The mussels were delicious, the sauce became the dip for my family's french fries. The goat cheese salad was also really good. The salmon was tasty and cooked well, the sauce complimented the salmon well. My daughter says her pasta was really good. The cups were also the best we've had in Ireland, so far.

Please note their kitchen is not open at least until 3.30 pm and specials like lobsters only starts from 5. So if you going early there for a brunch or lunch please note it. We tried the fish and chips, sweet potatoes, chicken wings and beef burger, but they were all just Okay. Not the best but not bad.

This was a welcome stop for a group hungry after touring the Ring of Kerry. Sunday roast was amazing, as were the fish and chips! Service was great and drinks cold.

Great tasting food! We were a bit confused at first when we came in as we saw a buffet style display on one end but it was later clarified what it was and how best to order. Location is in a perfect spot and kids were able to run around the beach/rock area afterwards to get out some energy. Seafood delicacy indeed and you cant go wrong here especially if hungry!

Fun family friendly and fair prices. Food was excellent. Servers kept you well informed. Lots of tables in a true Irish Pub. Even the owner comes around and checks in. When I return to Waterville, I will definitely eat again and suggest it to my traveling friends. It was greeting seeing small children eating at the tables next to older folks and everyone having a good time.

Great local place across from the water. Accommodated gluten free and vegetarian! Fresh fish was delicious. Friendly staff. Thanks Andy for hosting our big group of study abroad!

Paddywagon tour stopped at the town for lunch and recommended this place for lunch. They can serve food fast so we have time to go around town. They can also sit many people in the restaurant. Feels like this is the only restaurant in the town. Guinness stew was great. Highly recommend. Fish and chips were average, nothing to shout about. Menu is simple, helps them get food out fast. Good and fast service.
