The Lobster Bowl

Established by the prominent late artist Joe James, you walk into the hotel reception then through the gallery with his wonderful paintings and woodcarvings to the restaurant. This sits right beside the sea, so you hear waves lapping against the low wall which divides you. Service is really good in the laid back but friendly Jamaican way, with plenty of charm. Main dish prices include soup for starter and generous sides to share, and haven’t changed since early 2024. For the quality of food and experience, it’s very good value indeed. In London, you would pay far more!

We called to make a reservation for 5, it was recommended by a colleague who mentioned that lobster was great, when we got there they told us that there was no lobster, why didn't they mention that when we called to re-confirm that same morning? We insisted that the lobster was the whole purpose of going there and after an argument they decided to go get lobster somewhere. In the meantime we ask for two plates of shrimp from the menu and a plate of plantains. It took over 40 minutes just to get those dishes served, it is important to mention that we were the only table in the whole restaurant. Lobster arrived another 30 - 40 minutes later. They charged us for 3 shrimp dishes when they were 2 saying that they were served as 4, but they didn't say anything when they served it. Besides that it was ok. Tip: do the question when you book, do you have lobster?

Scenic location, perfect sea breeze and good food. Not to mention the music! Came with my family (including elderly grandma for food) and we all enjoyed. Can imagine it would make for a romantic spot, too. The Joe James gallery was a surprise and full of beautiful paintings and sculptures. Service outstanding. Would return and recommend, 5/5

WOW!!! What can I say this is a hidden gem in plain sight.. The location has adequate parking, nicely lit and well groomed. Leading to the dining room you pass this one of a kind gallery of amazing art pieces. This "world" can be transformed into any theme that you may want. It is perfect for weddings, hosting small dinner parties, large dinner functions.. I have no words to further describe this magnificent layout, all I ask is that you visit. The food is second to none, oven roasted coco bread, cream of pumpkin soup and curry shrimp all was superbly done and presented. The ambiance is second to none, hands down the most breathtaking location I've been. Joe's Lobster Bowl can get a "WOW".. Try it, you deserve to..👌🍾

Great place for amazing seafood in Jamaica. QUIET AND COZY. They have been there over 50 years. Restaurant is right next to the sea. Get the grilled lobster

I love the lobster bowl. The venue needs some renovation however it has this old world charm.

As far as my wife and I are concerned, Lobster Bowl is the find of the century! What an amazing experience...the food was incredible and the setting is just absolutely phenomenal. We were visiting Silversands and were on our way back to Kingston when both our bellies started rumbling! We punched in "Restaurants Near Me" in Google Maps and Lobster Bowl came up - it sounded interesting so we decided to be adventurous and take a look. It did not disappoint! The art gallery is mind blowing btw. We will be back (with friends ASAP). Hidden Gem is a fitting description to this awesome place. I would recommend to everyone...check it out asap!

A great place existing since the 1960s. A restaurant located by the bay and an art gallery. There is a hotel in close proximity. You have to deviate a bit from the main road but it's worth it.
