The Local Gentry

This place has yet to surprise me, I seldomly show up with urgent request to satisfy a guests need at the Four Seasons. Let me be the first to say that this place goes above and beyond and each time makes me feel like they’re Ohana. The vibe is killer and the selections are amazing. Make the Local Gentry your go to spot for any needs while on Lana’i.

This is my new favorite boutique. Not just on Lanai, not just in Hawaii - anywhere! The owner is so helpful and sweet. Her taste though, her taste is truly exceptional. You will only find quality, stylish, affordable, and well made items at her store. Men's and women's clothing along with accessories, home goods, jewelry, decor, and so much more. Stop by while on the island and support this fabulous local business. You'll be blown away!

This store is so cute! The ladies inside greeted me warmly and complimented my sandals and we made small talk while I looked around about where I was from and where I was going to go on the rest of my Hawaiian vacation. I found tons of cute shirts and shoes and accessories in here! They also have some home goods and I found some salt and pepper shakers I adored at the Four Seasons hotel on the big island for sale in here! Loved it! Worth a look if you are looking for a cute t-shirt or in need of something you forgot to pack like shorts or a swimsuit cover up. These ladies have you covered! They also had some Sun Bum sunscreen and Olukai sandals inside!

My favorite place to shop! Everything I have purchased there is great! The owner is very helpful in finding just the right outfit.

Really love this cute little shop in the center of Lanai city. A lot of great selections on women's clothing, very stylish, but most importantly, comfortable. Highly recommended to go take a look when you are in this area! They have men's items too, but I wasn't really paying attention. :-)

Really awesome little boutique. Tons of great gifts. Great clothing selection too. Good quality, unique finds. Also, the ladies running the store are seriously the nicest ever. So friendly and welcoming.

The staff was very friendly and they have some really nice items. They also have larger sizes which is difficult to find on Lanai.

Quality clothing and items with Lāna'i embroidery and labeling. Good sales. Was there for a day, and was glad to stumble into this store.

This is a really cute little store in downtown Lana'i with some seriously friendly staff inside. I was welcomed immediately by a very friendly gal who made pleasant small talk and made me feel right at home. She left me to browse after some general convo and I saw tons of cute t-shirts, flip flops and other little knick knacks and household goods inside. You could come in here and get treats for yourself and friends and family easily to take home and some goodies for the home to remember your stay. It's right in the middle of town so it's close to a coffee shop, some art galleries, a park, and a few other things. It's a must see if you are staying on Lana'i and will be in town. Anyone could find something cute in here to purchase. I saw Lana'i themed shirts, some salt and pepper shakers and some of my favorite flip flops: OluKai.

This is one of several little stores that line the central park in Lanai. I'm not sure if they were going for a tourist vibe or more of a place for locals, but it's mostly clothing and gifts. I didn't find anything that I wanted, and neither did my wife, but given that we had a lot of time and little to do in Lanai, it was worth stopping by.

This is such a cute store in the heart of Lanai City. Parking is plenty out front and you may even score a spot in the shade. There is a huge variety of clothing here. There's something for everyone from babies to grown men and everyone in between. Lots of fun and colorful items along with things like greeting cards, sunscreen, books and even stationary items. Cute Lanai shirts, hoodies, stickers and more. Definitely a stop to make if you're looking for souvenirs! The prices are pretty consistent of Hawaii. The employee working was so kind and talked story with me for awhile. It's a fun little store with unique items that you may not find anywhere else! I'll definitely be back!

I love The Local Gentry on Lanai! They have the cutest clothes and home goods, and their customer service is excellent! I bought the shirt on the left a year ago while visiting Lanai. It quickly became one of my favorite Ts and I wore it so much that I killed it with love. I called TLG to see if I could have a new one shipped to me in Seattle. They didn't have any in my size in stock, but the owner made sure to get one for me when they placed a new order. Then they contacted me not just once, but twice, to see if I still wanted it. YES! They shipped it out quickly, and the shirt is even better than I remember. The owner said they are getting new designs in. I can't wait to go back to Lanai, hopefully before the end of the year, and go shopping at The Local Gentry again. I wish all business were like this one!

I love the Local Gentry. They have a variety of clothing and accessories for the whole family as well as gift ideas. While I don't live on the island of Lana'i, I have had a few opportunities to go there and visit this wonderful shop. I love supporting local as I am born and raised on Maui, and love supporting these businesses where you can see the passion and dedication for what they do. They bring great quality items that I have worn/used myself or given as gifts. I love that their items are not easily found at other stores. Received many compliments on the clothing and I love gifting unique bags and accessories. And during this stay at home time we are in, their live videos to showcase items where you can order and they ship to you has been even more fun! Great little clothing and souvenir shop in Lanai City. We met and chatted with the owner, Jenna, and her assistant. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. They have nice shirts and hats for guys and unique items. Definitely stop in before you leave the island.

I always find great tops and pants at this store, not only for myself but also for my daughter-in-law. The latest styles and current brands to compliment your wardrobe. And Jenna is always so friendly and helpful while you shop! And this is where I discovered Olu Kai slippers for the first time and for which I am now a devoted collector! They are so comfortable! Woo hoo!

Lanai City doesn't have much in the way of shopping or fine dining, but what they have is awesome. Especially this shop. The moment you walk in you feel comfortable and can tell the products are quality. Then the warmth, kindness and passion from the owner is just a breath of fresh air. We bought quite a few things from her that day and definitely will again the next time in town.

Holy crap, where did this place come from!? If this boutique were in Honolulu, it would be one of my favorite places to shop. To find a shop of this quality in a sleepy hamlet like Lanai City was a total shock and surprise. I could've thrown down some serious dough in here, but I stuck to my guns and only purchased a long-sleeved hoodie since I was freezing my shocked and surprised ass off in chilly upcountry Lanai. The owner (Jenna?) was a doll and her daughter was one of the cutest kids I've had the pleasure of meeting. Local Gentry is a must-visit when on Lanai.

Best selection of flip flops I have seen yet in Hawaii. We got to meet the owner and she is fantastic. Extremely helpful and very passionate about the island that it was contagious. The store had all sorts of great clothing items mostly for woman but had a seriously good (on the small side) mens section. For those who think there are not great boutique clothing stores on Lanai then you stand corrected. THERE IS! I am actually going to use this store to purchase some flip flops and they are going to have them delivered to me via the manufacture. VERY EXCITED...

Wanted to get away from the busy city life in Honolulu, and traded it for a weekend in Lanai. First time at this place in downtown Lanai, walked in on Memorial Day and i stumbled across a pair of beige TOMS ballet flats for only....... $20!!!!!!!!!!! what a steal!! this pair usually runs for $79, so there were 3 boxes left and one of them was my size!! There were also a few pairs of OluKai moccaisan looking shoes, but I opted to skip on it - not really my style. Will come back and browse for some great shopping deals when I'm back in Lanai.

Jenna was extremely pleasant. My wife hasn't stopped talking about how much she loved this store and it's selection. Put this on your must see list when visiting Lana'i.

This place has a lot of fun things to go through. I spent at least an hour and got all kinds of weird stuff hahaha. The guy at the cash register was very nice and very patient with us. I will be coming again for more soap as they have a pretty good selection on a bunch of great bars

This is my favorite boutique on Lanai! I always find some special treasure. From the perfect straw fedora, cute Lanai sweatshirt, to a flowey sundress. Great selection. :) The owner, Jenna, is very helpful and sweet. This boutique is a must stop and shop when on Lanai.

If you're on Lanai (for even just a day) this place is a must see. I buy gifts for friends and family and have always received great comments from the receiver. There is something for the littlest tyke up to the old folks. Clothing to jewelry to unique gifts. Staff very friendly and helpful. I can't do justice in my description. Like I said, it's a MUST SEE.

I love this shop! They have an amazing selection of high quality clothes and shoes. I have recieved tons of compliments on my most recent purchase, OluKai Sandals...and have picked up some pretty awesome clothes/shoes for my six year old. Don't miss it if you're visiting Lana'i!

I didn't know what to expect when I walked up to this store. There was a rack of assorted clothes hanging outside the door, so I thought it might be a thrift store or possibly a vintage shop. When I walked inside, I was pleasantly surprised to find a cute boutique! There are men's and women's clothes, accessories, shoes, and a few cute "Lanai" branded items. The salesperson (and most likely the owner) was very cheerful and helpful. I contemplated buying a particular shirt and she advised I order a size up because it has a tendency to shrink. Sold! I also purchased an adorable Henley and a beach towel. I'm so excited that I found this little gem in the heart of sleepy Lanai City!

What a great find !!! We wandered in after having breakfast close by and were there for along time.. Five girls and we all came out with something adorable and fun. From clothes to cards to shoes, men's and women's.. Jenna the owner could not have been sweeter and has a great taste.. It was fun to talk with her while we shopped..if you find yourself in Lanai it is worth it to take some time and stop in..

What a wonderful little boutique...Jenna, the owner, is just lovely! I enjoyed my conversation with her and left with a couple of great pieces. If ever I find myself in Lanai again, I will surely stop here. :-)
