Great place in a great location. It's located in an area with other food options so you're not limited to one choice. Service here is a walk up order and they bring you the food. The staff was very friendly. I went there to try the chicken with Mac n cheese. The chicken was good and the Mac n Cheese was OK. If you cut up the chicken and mix it all together it's better but the Mac by itself is mediocre. Chicken wings are standard with good meat on the bones. Sandwiches were fresh tasting. The chicken and waffles by far were the best dish we ordered. The chicken strips overall are really good and this place is definitely worth a try.

I was surprised that this was not a full-service restaurant, but that was on me for not doing my research before we came. This is one of many small restaurants surrounding a small outdoor courtyard. There are tables outside shared by all restaurants and a few inside. The seating inside was not very comfortable. You order and pay at the counter and then sit down; they bring your food out to you. Note that if you have many people in your party, the food is brought out as it's ready, and not all at once. The food was delicious. The fried chicken was juicy and tender, and the menu had just enough variety to keep everyone happy. My teenagers loved the chicken and waffles, although they both would have loved an option to get more waffles and half the amount of chicken. Maybe a menu twist that could be offered? The local chicken sandwich was flavorful, and they gave just the right amount of fries--not too many and not too few. We are not huge fans of this type of atmosphere. If we're going to pay that much for a meal, we'd like to be comfortable. If we come back, it will likely be for takeout so that we can enjoy the wonderful food comfortably at home. However, I know there are many people who enjoy this vibe, so I didn't rate down on my overall rating based on the atmosphere.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Local Hen in Oviedo, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! The chicken pesto panini was absolutely amazing—perfectly balanced with flavors that left me wanting more. The service was equally impressive. Carissa was extremely attentive and friendly, ensuring that my dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. The owner was also very sweet and made me feel right at home, which added a personal touch to the visit. Overall, I can't recommend The Local Hen enough! I will definitely be back for more delicious food and the warm, welcoming atmosphere.

I had an amazing experience - from the food, to the customer service, it was great! The hot chicken with mac and cheese was delicious, and the chicken & waffles was the perfect combo of salty and sweet. Oh, not to mention BOGO on wine on Wednesdays! Can’t wait to go again ♥️.

Mediocre at best. Asked for well done wings…the girl didn’t understand English well so they were not well done. Got 1 order of Mac n cheese…rather have box Mac n cheese…or chick fil a. That with a can coke and bottle ice tea was $31. Definitely not worth that. Could have gotten better food at butter crust pizza next door and it would have been cheaper. How they got a 4.7 in reviews I’ll never understand. 1st and last visit

The fried chicken was crazy good, i want a bucket full. The waffle though, while seemingly okay, it had way too many sugar pearls in it. And then syrup on top... Every bite was like 4-9 pearls... I didn't even finish my waffles

The customer service earned the 5 Stars. The buffalo mac & cheese is 10/10. The chicken and waffles an easy 8/10. We did have an issue with our meal, no fault of the cook, and the waitress Paulina and cook/chef Javes are absolutely amazing. Definitely one of our favorite new spots.

Great food at The Local Hen! The entire meal was amazing! The pulled pork sliders were tangy and delicious, and the chicken cheese fries were a huge portion and the perfect blend of cheese, crispy and savory. Service was great and atmosphere was delightful. Great music pumping all night. 10/10 highly recommend.

I really enjoyed my experience with the local hen! I ordered the The Hen's Local Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was a really really really good chicken sandwich. I really enjoyed the pimento cheese on the sandwich, great added touch! I ordered it online while sitting outside at the food factory and it was ready well before the eta time. They texted me when it was done. Easy experience. I also love coming to dine outside at the food factory! Always a fun experience with people watching or listening to live music, hanging with friends, grabbing a drink, etc. Will be coming back

The Local Hen is definitely a hidden gem and a great spot if you're craving crispy, flavorful chicken. The place has a fun steampunk vibe that gives it more character than your typical chicken shop, and the atmosphere works well whether you're grabbing a casual meal or hanging out to watch a game. I ordered the chicken tenders and truffle fries -- both really solid. The tenders were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside without being greasy. The truffle fries had a great flavor and were a bit addictive! Portion sizes were generous, so you definitely leave full. Service was friendly and pretty quick considering how busy it was during my visit. The staff seemed attentive and on top of things. Prices are reasonable for what you get, especially compared to other trendy spots. My only slight criticism is that the seasoning could be a bit more bold -- the food is good, but a little more punch in the flavor would take it to that next level. Also, the music can get a bit loud when the place fills up, making it harder to talk. Overall, The Local Hen is a solid go-to for great chicken and a chill hangout spot. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend giving it a try if you're in the area!

Fantastic local Oviedo restaurant!! The staff are hospitable, the menu is clear and the food was SPOT ON After going to Chic-whatever and getting the same boring chicken sandwich week after week. If you feel like having your tastebuds explode and your wallet happy, hit this place up. My wife and I split their grilled chicken wrap. It was soooo good and not 1 fry was over done. There is ample seating inside and out so bring the crew. You won't be upset or hungry when you leave, happy eating peeps!

Amazing good. Really enjoyed the sandwich. It was juicy, right amount of sauce and ranch. Girl who helped us was very sweet and made my day. Loved the ambiance of outside eating too!

My first time at this location and it did not disappoint me! The outside vibes and the smooth atmosphere was great. The service was quick and prompt and courteous. I had the smoky barbecue wings which were delicious, the fries were crispy and tasteful,but the price for the fries were a bit expensive .

My friend and I came here for their Galentine's special. It included chicken nugget appetizer with fries, a chicken panini or chicken caesar wrap to share, a piece of chocolate cake and a bottle of Brut or Prosecco for only $50! Not only was this such a great deal, the food and service was amazing. The owner even checked in on us. They also have a Valentine's Day special for the same price.

This is one of Oviedo's best gems. Their chicken is always crispy and their staff is the friendliest out there. I love this place! The chicken tenders and the buffalo Mac n cheese has been a weekly craving now for me

We came to this casual place based entirely on what I now suspect are fake yelp reviews. We ordered the fried chicken sandwiches which came with fries. What a total disappointment! The ciabata roll the chicken came in wasn't toasted, so it was grossly soggy. The fried chicken was more like a chicken finger, not even covering half the roll. And it wasn't crispy, either. The sandwich came with lettuce, which was completely wilted. I'd be embarrassed serve such a pathetic sandwich. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars instead of zero is because the fries were good. Both I and my husband had the impulse to vomit after eating - it felt like lead weights in our stomachs. It was also annoying that this gross food was $17. Avoid this place and go to Popeyes instead.

My husband, son, and I were in the area around lunch time and we decided to stop in to eat. We loved the steampunk theme with the cogwheels and metal décor. The Local Hen has indoor and outdoor seating. There was music playing, which kept the environment fun. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive. Our son is almost two years old, and they had crayons and pictures for him to color, which was awesome! They also have a variety of delicious mocktails. I got a Shirley Temple and we got our son a Mermaid Water, which had edible glitter. My husband had the chicken sandwich, I got the chicken tender meal and upgraded to truffle fries, and we got the macaroni and cheese for our son. The chicken sandwich was juicy and crispy, but my husband didn't like the cole slaw on it, which is really just a personal preference. The tenders were freshly battered and paired perfectly with the house made ranch dressing and buffalo dip. The truffle fries were crispy and flavorful. The macaroni and cheese was also yummy. Rating from F to A+++, I give it an A++!

Pros: Wonderful location inside of a beautiful food fall inside of a bustling park inside of the ever-growing Oviedo, FL. Service was absolutely wonderful. Very doting and caring owners. Loved the storefront. A great, big roll-up garage door to expose the nicely decorated interior. Food was dynamite. Cons: No cons. Even the wait time for the food wasn't too bad. Tips: Get The Hen's Locals Fried "Messy" Chicken Sandwich. You will not be sorry.

They have both indoor and outdoor seating available. We came on a Friday night and were pleased to find that there was a DJ playing music during our whole stay. This venue appears to be a fantastic spot for families, there were a ton of young ones joyfully running around and dancing to the music while their families enjoyed their meals. You never know what to expect when trying a restaurant for the first time, but I was pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes and taste of the food. Everything we tried was delicious. Pro tip: if you opt for the truffle fries, don't miss out on the garlic sauce for dipping--it's a game-changer! Beyond the fantastic ambiance and tasty food, the standout feature was the exceptional service. Polina, our server, went above and beyond, ensuring we had an unforgettable dining experience. We're already looking forward to our return, we're excited to explore their brunch offerings. The Local Hen, with its fun atmosphere, mouthwatering dishes, and top-notch service, has firmly secured a spot on our list of favorites!

The Foodie Factory just opened up less than 100 yards away from my apartment, so of course I need to check out every restaurant that ever opens up there. One of the original restaurants that opened up with it is this place, the Local Hen! Cute décor, obviously appealing to Oviedoans, and with a banging looking menu. Would the food be banging, too? Uh yes, it was. I ordered, like I always do when I see a new one, the Classic Chicken & Waffles (Seasoned fried Chicken breast, served with 2 Sugar Pearl Waffles and warm Maple Syrup). And this was a good rendition of it. Two, good-sized, well-breaded chicken breast cutlet patties. Very moist and juicy. Standard pearl waffles, very warm and soft and chewy, crunchy when you run into a pearl, juuust sweet enough. It came with a nice, warm, maple syrup on the side for dipping. I was very happy with it. No complaints. I would like it, though, if they offered a savory version of it. No pearls, maybe some hot sauce dipping sauce. Just throwing it out there. I also got the chance to taste the The Hen's Locals Fried "Messy" Chicken Sandwich (Toasted rustic bread with bacon, dressed lettuce, onions & a drizzle of our pimento cheese sauce. Comes with American Fries). Nice, soft ciabatta roll with the same, nice-sized chicken patty from earlier. Lots of good veg, and a small dollop of that pimento cheese sauce. Could have used more, it was very good! And for funsies, we ordered an extra side of Mac & Cheese. Ooey, gooey, could have used some bread crumbs, but just lovely on the side of this decadent, Southern meal. Overall, this was a wonderful little meal that was even better because it's just a few steps away from my front door, so I can pretty much go back and eat it whenever I want. Lots of other good stuff on their menu, too, so I'll probably be a repeat customer for a very long time.

My first and last time going to this place this evening and I was excited to try the buffalo mac & cheese. It was, by far, the worst tasting mac I've ever had and that is being generous! The chicken tasted like frozen patties thrown in a fryer and drenched in buffalo sauce. I took a few bites and even gave some to my other half so he could see if I was overreacting and he said "that's disgusting" and I threw it directly in the trash! I didn't even bother going in to complain because I won't be back....ever! Save your money and go somewhere else!

The buffalo chicken sandwich was pretty good and the ceasarsalad with chicken was OK. The service was great.

Local hen in my opinion has the best overall menu at Food Factory from top to bottom. Lots of good options. The chicken cracklings are really great. The chicken ceasar wrap is a 10/10 as well. All of staff is has been very welcoming since they've been open.

After finishing a round of golf I searched yelp and found this place, so glad I did ! Food was delicious and service was great. There are at least 6 restaurants at the same location and plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor seating depending on restaurant. You order inside and food is delivered to your table.

Was super excited to try this place. We've tried a couple of other places at the Food Factory and all were good. Fries were solid, unfortunately that was the highlight. We're ordered the chicken tenders, they looked nothing like the photos, but was still optimistic. My optimism faded after the first bite of what tasted like not very good quality frozen chicken tenders.

I've had this place on my radar since I found out it opened. The reviews have me intrigued. Tonight, we got to pull the trigger and order. We did a pick up order and it was ready when I arrived. The restaurant is part of the Foodie Factory in Oviedo. It's a cute, small space with a couple tables inside (plenty of outside seating as well). My eyes immediately went to the chicken & waffles on the menu. I considered the Hen's Local "Messy" Fried Chicken sandwich ( Toasted rustic chibatta bread with bacon, lettuce, onions, and a drizzle of pimento cheese sauce), but went with a dish I know I love. It was served with a warm maple syrup that hit the spot. I'm not sure if the star was the waffles, which were crispy and fluffy, but had an amazing surprise - sugar pearls infused into the waffle. Every bite had a little, sweet, crunchy surprise that just elevated it from a good waffle. The chicken also started. It was crispy, juicy, not over-battered, and had an amazing seasoning blend. It all came together wonderfully! My daughter wasn't that hungry, so she got the kid's nuggets and fries. I tasted hers, as well. The fries were good. Pretty standard. The meal came with a good number of nuggets (she couldn't finish) and were also really tasty. They used the same breading & seasoning and were also nice and juicy. I almost ordered a side of the Cup of Candied Chicken & Bacon (Sweet & Salty Glazed Chicken bits with bacon). I love a good candied bacon, so I am intrigued by a candied chicken! I'm glad we didn't, because we were stuffed from our meals. We will be back! We have the Messy sandwich, candied chicken, hummus, tostones, yucca fries, pulled pork sliders, and chicken cheese fries to try! We will definitely be back

Tried out the new food hall in Oviedo. Starting with The Local Hen. Loved the decor. It was bright, modern and fun. We ordered a variety of dishes and they were all excellent. My favorite savory dish were the Hen tostones. They are an appetizer but I would definitely have this as my meal next time. Honorable mention goes to the chocolate cake. I'm not sure how the chef makes this but I don't like chocolate cake and could easily have eaten the entire cake in one sitting. It was heavenly and by far the best chocolate cake I have ever had. The chef has really put together a delicious menu. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes next time.

I had such a great time at a networking happy hour at The Local Hen, and it great! I wish I could remember the name of the wine I was drinking because it was delicious. I also ordered a small bite which was the perfect portion for me. The sliders were cooked to perfection and had great taste, it left me wanting more!! The location is quaint in the food factory of Oviedo. The owners are locals and they really gave their attention to each group that arrived even though it was busy. So the service was truly above and beyond. Looking forward to coming back to have some more enjoyable happy hours!

Oh. My. God. My husband got the Buffalo chicken sandwich, and I got the trio, and the food was delicious. The trio is something that is sharable because I was only able to eat three ribs and a couple of yucca fries. The food was made to order, the flavors were all there, and I look forward to eating here during cheat days. The only thing I didn't care for was the upside down pineapple cake. Still 10/10, totally recommend..

I recently dined at The Local Hen Oviedo, and I must say it was a remarkable experience. The red sangria was amazing (not too sweet just as I prefer) , this place has a great inviting ambiance. The service was top-notch, attentive and friendly. The food, unquestionably fresh and delicious, left me eagerly anticipating my next visit. This restaurant truly stands out in our local dining scene. I am happy to see Oviedo is getting more of a variety of local places!

Great truffle fries and very good chicken Sando. Small shop in outdoor friendly contrived downtown ovideo. Food was excellent good beer on tap. Will be back to try more.

Has quickly become my favorite place! The food is always great, the service impeccable and the ambiance so friendly and fun, family oriented atmosphere. I'm always looking for an excuse to go there! Parking is a challenge but soooo worth it!

I read a review and had to come and see for myself. The food did not disappoint! The chicken and waffles were amazing and surprisingly not messy. The waffles are light and have crunchy sugary bits in every bite. The chicken is crispy without being too greasy. The macaroni and cheese is pretty good-nice and cheesy. My husband enjoyed his burger immensely. I will be returning to try the Cuban sandwich and other tasty options. This is my new "go to"!

Wow!! Clean, great service THEN the food came out. The best crafted chicken sandwich I have ever had. A thick chicken breast that was juicy and so tender! It was easy to bite through. I will return to try the buffalo chicken sandwich. True craftsmen!!

The food is fantastic, fresh and great flavor. The service is superb, very personable and accommodating- Elizabeth is fantastic . The ambiance is relaxing and comfortable, very clean and tidy. It's evident that it's a family business, they paid attention to every detail, great job. Definitely a must return.

I took my son to The Food Factory at Oviedo on the Park for the first time since it opened and landed on lunch at The Local Hen. I could not have been more impressed! The eating area inside is cute and bright, and the hostess/waitress was kind and helpful. We kept it simple this time, ordering only the chicken and waffles, but it was a huge hit for both my son and me. I'm southern, and I have to say that they probably had the best fried chicken I've ever had. The chicken was tender and juicy - the breading light and crispy with a buttery flavor. It perfectly balanced what tasted to me like a lightly caramelized waffle and maple syrup. I can't wait to take my husband and friends there to try their drinks and other food options. 10/10 would recommend!

Small and mighty!!! This new place is unassuming, until you have the food. Then, Wow!! I had the chicken skewers, which were cooked to perfection, juicy and tasty. We also tried the chicken wings and they, too, were cooked just right! For desert, we had the upside pineapple cake. Be careful. Three of us ate with one cake. You must try this place.

Hubby and I tried the local hen tonight and was not impressed with the food, we ordered the crackling chicken appetizer and split the messy chicken sandwich. Appetizer and sandwich came out the same time. Hubby had the $5.00 beer special and I had 2 glasses of wine with our meal. It was overpriced, overcooked and under poured. Place was clean, staff friendly but for 76.00 I think I'll go elsewhere!

My family and I have come here at least a dozen times and they have been excellent every time. Owners are awesome and staff is welcoming and always go above and beyond to make sure the experience is great. Try the local hen trio, pulled pork sliders, yuca fries, chicken sandwich, Oviedo Tower, chicken, fries - they are all very good. Get a side of the garlic aioli sauce for dipping, it's so good. Great addition to Oviedo!

This place is awesome! The employees are wonderful and so careful to ensure you have a positive experience. They believe in the food they are selling and it shows. The chicken and waffles are hands down one of the best I have ever had, and I am picky about this dish! Food was served hot, quickly and with a smile. It doesn't get much better than that! Great food plus great customer service is always a win!!

Came here for lunch and had the fried chicken caesar wrap. It was absolutely delicious! The french fries were crispy and thick which I loved. My friend enjoyed the buffalo chicken sandwich and the mac and cheese was yummy too! There was a great employee working that helped so much with suggestions and was super sweet.

The food is really good. Good value and good selections. Nothing fancy, but elevated. Very friendly and attentive staff and owners. Easy and free parking, kid and dog friendly and wheel chair accessible for one of my relatives. The outdoor and indoor seating options are great depending on weather. A pleasant place to hang out with low stress to get in and out and enjoy a few drinks and a good meal for breakfast, lunch, dinner and heavy snacks. They have deals for most all holidays and most of the time, no lines. Valentines Day.. I believe they are doing something.
