The Local

We went to this place to try their poutine. We originally tasted poutine in Montreal & have never found one as good… well this is the place to eat it, the fries we cooked crispy (till they soak in the gravy), the cheese was great & instead of everything being on top of the fries, it was layered in. It was delicious. We also ordered a turkey wrap to split - it was also very good. Plenty of food for us (we didn’t even eat the fries that came with the sandwich). We also each had a beer. The waitress was awesome & we didn’t feel forgotten. I highly recommend this place.

We were lucky to be seated in a section where Meya was the server. Seated immediately. The obvious draw to this establishment is the flower abundant outdoor seating area. But, for those of you “sports enthusiasts”, the have every sport imaginable on TVs inside the bar!! I got to see my Tampa Bay Rays play baseball live 3,000 miles away! Thank you! I ordered the Notorious P I G, my wife the massive Quesadilla! No disappointment here! Maya made it special with her Australian accent, and the drink glasses were never empty. Great place, when in Victoria, give it a chance. Prices are fair for what you get!

Love this place for watching a game. If it’s a game night I would not come here to have a good conversation because it is very loud. It’s a great bar with tons of tvs, perfect for watching some hockey. Drinks are good here and the food is mediocre nothing special. I would recommend just getting nachos or fries.

Just a heads up, they don't do reservations. Patio if first come, first serve. The space gets super busy and pretty packed, with a fun atmosphere. Food is just ok and super overpriced. Staff were all super amazing and sweet.

Fresh cold beer, monster burgers that were exceptionally juicy and delicious. Staff we interacted with were all friendly and pleasant, and accommodated our party of 11 pretty easily during off hours.

Sat outside on a nicer day, patio is heated which is nice. Ordered the lemonade pitcher. Greek god wrap and the jennifer Aniston salad. Salad was a hit. Wrap was pretty good, yam fries exceptional !

We've walked past The Local over the years, and the patio is often packed with shiny happy faces. We finally stopped in today for a late lunch on a perfect sunny day. Really friendly staff, delicious cocktails and local beers, and a great lunch. My double smashburger was <$10> as today's special -- huge and delicious. Definitely stop in for a great meal or beers and wings.
