We stayed in the self catering apartment here. It was a wonderful place to stay, and luxurious accommodation. Lovely essentials left for us too which was totally unexpected, cereal, milk, yoghurt, biscuits, tea, coffee. A lovely sunset over the bay, and just round the corner from Donegal Town. Joan the host is lovely too. Thoroughly recommend.

We stayed in self catering apartment, which was totally luxurious, and with the food essentials supplied, tea, coffee, milk, cereal etc. It is in a lovely locaction with a beautiful sunset over the bay, and just up the road from Donegal Town. The host is lovely too.

Joan was the most gracious hostess. We were her only guests at the time. Our room was lovely and clean. We particularly liked having hardwood floors.|Breakfast was made to order and very tasty. Joan shared with us dinner recommendations as well as discounts to local Donegal dining spots.|The location is just under two miles from Donegal town. Although the house is located on a relatively busy road, it was very quiet.

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night during our road trip around Ireland. We could not have asked for a better place to stay - it was quiet, parking was easy and plentiful, the location was priceless and best of all, Joan looked after us like family, despite Liam being away. We had a very comfortable night's sleep, the room was clean and tidy with everything you need laid on and the fully cooked Irish breakfast was first class. And so pleasant, being able to sit at the window and marvel at the beautiful Irish countryside over breakfast. We didn't want to leave. This is definitely the definitive B&B in Donegal.

We were warmly welcomed end of July/beginning of August by Joan and Liam. The family could not be nicer or more hospitable and the house is spotless, elegant, and most comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious and the sitting room and dining area exemplary. The location, looking down toward the tidal estuary, is not only quiet and restful (despite being near the Donegal road), but very convenient for touring the area around Donegal and off in the other directions. Recommend highly! A joy.

During the recent Storm Ali we stayed safe and sound at this upscale bnb located 10 min by car to Donegal. The host greeted us warmly on arrival and gave us directions on where to find a laundromat nearby. The house is located near the main highway into Donegal and it is easy to park your car. The room was comfortable and the house was very tidy. Breakfast was delicious! There is a craft village 5 min up the road. We enjoyed this bnb very much.

Previous reviewer (subject) from Australia described our pleasant stay perfectly. We would add that, should you be planning to visit one of the trad music pubs in Donegal town, The Cove Lodge is not a comfortable walk to/from town. Plan your driving appropriately. Joan was welcoming, helpful and professional. A perfect hostess. Highly recommend.

We traveled around Ireland for 2 weeks and The Cove Lodge was our favorite B&B during the trip! Joan and Liam were extremely hospitable and Liam even loaned me his own golf shoes so I could play at the local golf course. The house is in a great location and beautifully done. Thank you for the wonderful couple of days!
