"Snuggled into a bluff in the vineyard-peppered Sonoma coast, the Lodge at Bodega Bay is a laid-back getaway. In the mornings, in-house restaurant Drakes Sonoma Coast serves their own spin on the classics from french toast topped with fresh, seasonal compote, to the lodge’s own signature breakfast sandwich packed with all the fixings. During the day, the secluded beaches are free to roam, and local wine tastings are plenty. As the sun begins to set, there’s no better way to wrap the day than retiring in the fireside lounge surrounded by views of the Pacific Ocean. Guest rooms and suites themed with creams and nautical blues punctuated with dark wood accents feel as though they really are a home away from home, from Ocean Shell Massages at the spa to the in-room jacuzzi accommodations to the small details snuck into every corner of the lodge like the binoculars placed on every room’s windowsill that bring the breathtaking balcony views into high-definition." - CNT Editors

Easily one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever stayed. From the stunning views to the incredibly kind and welcoming staff, everything about this place felt special. The pool and hot tub overlooking the serene marshland felt absolutely magical. One of the sweetest touches was a beautiful handwritten card from the staff—such a thoughtful and personal gesture that made me feel truly appreciated. I also loved how easy it was to access the beach, and having a restaurant right on the property made it effortless to relax and enjoy every moment at the hotel. Can’t wait to come back!

Our favorite hotel in Bodega Bay and surrounding area! Top notch all around! As a family we all love to spend time at the pool and hot tub. Drakes is amazing! Breakfast is delicious there and so is dinner. Cocktails are too good! From the rooms, to the amenities (pool, gym, spa, convenience to beach, restaurant, etc), and the customer service… you cannot go wrong!! We always look forward to our next trip!

Google
The Lodge at Bodega Bay is a total gem! The rooms are seriously spacious, giving you plenty of room to spread out and relax. We loved chilling by the outdoor fire pits, soaking up the coastal vibe. And don't even get me started on Drake's restaurant lounge – the live music was a fantastic touch, making for some really fun evenings. Definitely a top spot for a chill getaway!

Google
Celebrated our 25th Anniversary at the hotel. They upgraded us to a beautiful room overlooking the bay and sent a bottle of champagne and chocolates. Top notch experience and beautiful environment. Enjoyed a coastal walk in the morning followed by breakfast at Drake’s. Amazing experience and such a relaxing getaway!

Property is beautifully maintained. Views are incredible just about anywhere on site, including the room. Balcony is private. Mattress, pillows and linens are elevated quality, as are in-room amenities such as bath products, robes, etc. Staff is friendly, approachable and goes the extra mile. Wi-Fi is reliable. Restaurant is excellent, also with great views. Fabulous staycation!

Great spacious accommodations with an awesome view. So much hiking & exploring nearby. Birdwatching paradise. Heard sea lions but didn’t see them unfortunately. Drake’s & Fireside Lounge are excellent. Head north on 1 for more adventures and spectacular vistas.

I have been staying at the Lodge for years. I typically go with my elderly mother, but this time I introduced a friend to the Lodge. She was thrilled and I can tell she will also be a repeat customer. |The staff is attentive (they left a treat in my room for being a returning client :) the scenery, bar, infinity tub, pool and spa are fantastic. Get a massage while you are there!

The hospitality staff were very friendly and helpful upon arrival. Our room was exceptionally clean with and amazing view of the Bodega Bay and Doran Beach. The pool, spa, gym and sauna made for a very relaxing stay and would highly recommend this to anyone for any occasion.

Yelp
Very special hotel in Bodega Bay. We stayed in their captain's quarters and it was such a beautiful room. We were there to celebrate a 40th birthday and the experience exceeded all of our expectations. The hotel has a quaint spa with great services, wine tastings in the game room attached to the main lobby, a pool, bikes you can borrow and peaceful trails down to the water. I can't wait to come back here again.

Yelp
We had a pretty comfortable stay here with some pros and cons. Pros: - rosemary lemonade in the lobby is delicious and they have it daily - complimentary wine tasting hours - complimentary house white/red for our anniversary with chocolates in our room - asked for memory foam/synthetic pillows in replacement of our flat down ones, and they delivered! - next to Drakes restaurant, easily walkable - massage was decent - provided a better fridge and microwave for our room before arrival so we could store our baby's food and heat it up - personal patio - love the deep bath tub and bath fizz - two luggage stands for the rooms - slippers and plushy robes - electric vehicle chargers - smooth checkout (and provided us water to leave with) - heated pool (even tho we couldn't use it) - couldn't hear neighbors Cons: - forgot our complimentary house wine in our room until we reached out for it - down pillows are too flat and uncomfortable for sleep - delivered our replacement pillows when we had our "do not disturb" sign up - scrub treatment was nice but could be better as my body had parts that could've been scrubbed better - A/C in the room wasn't working so had to use ceiling fan - spiderwebs above coffee/tea area - crumbs/leftovers of something on the edges of the carpet (cleaning could be done better) - toilet paper too thin - shower pressure too light -

Yelp
Fantastic experience! I booked a massage for my birthday and the concierge were very welcoming to my boyfriend and I. Complimentary cozy robes and slippers, spa access for both of us, gorgeous gardens and sunset views. I can't wait to go again!

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous! "The best property in Bodega Bay, without a doubt." That's how my husband described this gorgeous place on the south side of town and just up the hill from Doran Beach. A beautifully appointed property with several buildings, including the main lobby and upper building and the lower building, which includes the on-site restaurant Drakes. There's a roomy infinity hot tub overlooking the bay's wetlands, plus a super warm outside pool, even in mid-December - what a surprising treat! They also offer spa services, a whimsical mosaic tiled outdoor(ish) shower and nice fitness room. We arrived just in time to check-in before enjoying a quick wine tasting with snacks as the sun set behind Bodega Head. While we didn't partake, they also had a nice offering of free wellness activities like morning yoga and meditation, plus bikes and park passes for guests to use during their stay. Staff at all levels were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Can't wait to return to this gem at one of our favorite weekend getaway destinations!

Yelp
The lodge is absolutely beautiful. The room itself was simple but very nice and clean. The most breathtaking part was the grounds themselves. The property was immaculate. Perfectly landscaped with sweeping views. There was flowers, growing everywhere and succulents and beautiful native plants. There was so much wildlife. We saw owls and hawks and hummingbirds and pelicans all from our balcony. They have a cute pool and an infinity hot tub that we didn't get to try, but it looked like people are having a lot of fun there. There were a lot of families and a lot of kids, but also a bunch of couples. We wanted to try the restaurant, but we didn't make reservations in advance and that was a mistake because it looked really beautiful and the food smelled really good. I look forward to returning here again. It was nice to be so close to so many great restaurants. We really enjoyed going to Tony's seafood in Marshall. The staff at the lodge were incredibly nice. One night was definitely not enough.

Yelp
What a lovely stay! Beautiful place, excellent service, really nice rooms! We recently took a trip here to celebrate our girls bday. It was such an amazing time. We loved our huge room with the double king beds and fireplace! The private patio area looking out to the option was incredible. We started our night at the restaurant and spent the rest of our time enjoying our room. The only thing we couldn't figure out with the staffs help was casting, but eventually did so that was great. I think my fav part about our experience was chillin in front of the fireplace with my girls and dipping in the super hot infinity jacuzzi 8am lol I would highly recommend coming here. I'd love to come back and stay longer!! Thank you Manny for making our stay a special one!

Yelp
We booked a night here. When I checked in, I asked if they would give a complimentary upgrade since it was our anniversary but they were booked out. Not long after we settled in our room, one of the staffs knocked our door and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine with a card. What a good hospitality! Our room was spacious and clean. The balcony overlooked a garden with the view of water in the distance. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom looked nice. The swimming pool was nice but it was pretty crowded as there were lots of families using it. The hotel was quiet and good for relaxing vacation. It was a short drive to restaurants around the area.

Yelp
I cannot begin to express the friendliness and hospitality of the entire staff starting with Hannah, and every other member of the establishment went above and beyond Sherry and I would like to personally think each one of them for making us feel welcome and at home. The rooms and view are incredible, the amenities are excellent, but the staff is the shining star for the Lodge at Bodega Bay.

Yelp
The lodge was very awesome. We enjoyed the restaurant and the pool with perfect weather. It is central to many other places to visit. The rooms are very well done up. Only wish they would pay more attention to the hot tub and restaurant glass as the view is so great.

Yelp
This post is soo long overdue. Earlier this year my fiancé and I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and it did not disappoint. We decided to stay here after calling another hotel and sadly my fiancé was thrown off by a rude front desk person . Everything for a reason though because we stayed at this gem instead. upon arrival we were greeted by Yesenia and Jessica at the front desk and they were sooo nice and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfy after a mix up with our online booking. They helped us with an upgrade and I bought a $30 glass water bottle that broke that day and they replaced it for free. Plus the restaurant is killer with their food and drinks! Their massages are amazing and there's a beautiful infinity pool . I can go on and on lol, thank you so much for the best experience we've had on the coast . So grateful and will cherish those memories, we'll be back!

Yelp
Date of visit: 8/8/2022-8/9/2022 We loved The Lodge at Bodega Bay! We stayed for a night at The Lodge of Bodega Bay and the experience was amazing. There is only one thing need to mention first if you plan to stay which is the fog horn. The fog horn rang for every 10-15 seconds for the whole day and night except for some short pause (1 or 2 hours I guess?) Which is not a big deal to us but if you are very aware of noise, then you should consider bring your own earplugs. The Lodge at Bodega Bay offers free parking, no resort fee, free beach bikes to use, and you can also ask for a day pass to drive to the Doran Regional Park. Love the view from the balcony of the room, directly facing the pool area and the bay and the lagoon. There are some public fireplaces in the resort grounds for people to use to have a drink to watch the sunset. The pool area was clean with an infinity hot tub, warm water pool and a sauna. We stayed at the pool area after check-out for a few hours to relax and it was unforgettable.

Yelp
We had an amazing stay here. Right at check im, everyone was so accommodating and kind. The location was dreamy and the kids had so much fun just walking the grounds and going the beach each day. It was the perfect family getaway. Oh and the IRD breakfast food was so food as well as the dinner at Drakes! Highly recommend this resort for your future bodega bay getaway :)

Yelp
The best property in the bay! Outstanding facilities, got a surprise upgrade, thank you! Daily room cleaning was great and they worked around our schedules since we were remote working from our room. Superior service at Drakes! Shout out to Thomas and Hallie! Hot tub, pool and gym are top notch, it's a peaceful get away and you immediately feel relaxed being in the beautiful location.

Yelp
We had a lovely stay at the Lodge, the hot tub and pool area was clean and had lots of fresh towels. They also have a filtered water dispenser which is great; I wish we had more than one swell bottle with us. The rooms had everything we needed, including an easy light log for the fire. I only have a few negatives....one bring major. The hotel was half empty and they put someone above us. The ceiling is very thin and we could hear every step (both housekeeping and later the guests). Back and forth and back and forth! Second is the crab boat horns which were all night long, we realized later that there is a sound machine next to the bed. We wish the hotel staff told us about it. Between the horns & overhead noise, it wasn't restful. , The 7-9 wine hour and s'more hour was sweet, but the 1 oz pour was tiny and not worth venturing out. Guests were thrilled with the s'mores. The coffee/tea bar was much appreciated, one of the other guests told us how good the coffee is, and we agree. A water filter or water urn in the lobby would be welcome, too.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for our anniversary. I could not have dreamt of a better experience. This lodge is nestled in the heart of Bodega Bay, located next to the water and tucked in woodsy area close to the campgrounds. Its the perfect place for a weekend getaway. We chose to stay in the Crow's Nest since we wanted to have a soaking tub but to our surprise we also happened to get a beautiful view thats great during any time of the day! The room is very clean, comes stocked with a fireplace, bath robes, etc. I made a note in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and the staff greeted us with a congratulatory wine after we had checked into our room. The bed was also extremely comfortable to sleep in (did not feel like a hotel bed). The first night unfortunately had some high winds and so the power went out - but the staff courteously went around to each room to inform the guests of the situation. They brought us extra fire wood, and flashlights in order to make sure we were still taken care of. These things happen, which doesn't make me love the place any less. Overall, this is a great lodging area to spend an anniversary, birthday, etc. We definitely plan to come back in the future!

Yelp
Beautiful resort but I really don't understand why they have pancake pillows. Why would a resort of this quality have pillows this horrendous? The second I lay my head down it turns into a thin sheet of paper..Quite possibly the most miserable sleep I've ever had because of this. Poor sleep ruined my experience. Left with backaches, leg pains, and neck cramps . Considered driving an hour round trip to Walmart to buy pillows. I didn't, but I did consider it.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years. The hotel and location is so beautiful and peaceful. The grounds are beautiful and so well maintained. However, it seems that many guests have lost respect and common decency to act respectfully towards one another. We stayed near the pool, beautiful room and view but screaming and jumping kids all day long. Keep that in mind if you want to come here and relax.

Yelp
Pricy = yes, Discomfort = no! I think what's important is to acknowledge this place is a lodge and not a hotel. Granted the prices make you think your'e staying in a 5 star hotel, but you're not. You're staying in a lodge that is more built for your weekend getaway. With that said, we really enjoyed our stay in the Captain's Quarters. My family of 5 came here for a weekend getaway and it fulfilled our needs. The Captain's Quarters comes with a large dinning table, couch, fireplace, lazy boy, 1 1/2 bathrooms, 2 Murphey Beds in the main room and one private bedroom (please see pictures). Not to mention an amazing balcony view of the lodge and Bodega Bay in the background. My only gripe is there is one food option and that's the lodge's restaurant Drakes. While the restaurant is certainly fine dining w/ great food that offers room service, the menu is limited and quite expensive. If you want more food options, you'll have to drive into town, which was tough for us because we were here during the pandemic and the rainy season.

Yelp
This is such an amazing place to stay. The staff are all incredibly friendly, the food and wine are delicious, the location is just perfect, and I would definitely come back. We were celebrating a birthday and the staff left a note - a handwritten note! - and some chocolates for the birthday boy. And! Gave us a free upgrade. It was the perfect start to a wonderful birthday weekend. Thank you for everything :)

Yelp
We booked last minute mid July while vacationing in another part of California. This lodge was outstanding, fireplace in our room, balcony. The landscape is so pretty. Room with a view! The sky at night is just gorgeous. On property there is a spa, pool, hot tub, fire pit areas, and restaurant. Two minutes down the street is a championship golf course. They have complimentary bikes you can ride down to the beach or get a pass from the front desk for parking if you want to drive down. You can hear the seals from your room with the door open and also see the ocean in the distance. They have drinks in the lobby or s'mores on different nights. There are some other restaurants in town you would have to drive too, but not a lot. You can drive 10 minutes down the road with outstanding views of the ocean with pull over areas. Would definitely come back for a stay!

Yelp
Terrible experience stayed one night. Dined at the restaurant then woke up early and departed in our sprinter van south to Santa Cruz. Later that day someone - a "manager" called telling us we tore the carpet in the room and would be charged an extra $300 WHAT?/! Nothing more than that except no backing down on this charge for something we didn't do. BEEARE FRAUDULENT CHARGES HERE! Never stay there or any of their other properties again

Yelp
I made a reservation for this summer and... whoops! made it for tonight! Called and Monica at the front desk took care of me. She was lovely and helpful and answered all my questions. Excited for my stay there.

Yelp
If I could give more stars I would. The Lodge at Bodega Bay has something for everyone of every age. We planned on staying 2 nights and extended our trip to 4 nights. The staff, including servers, bartenders, reception, housekeeping and grounds staff were welcoming, friendly and accommodating! Our room was spotless, spacious yet cozy. Patios are private and views were spectacular. Soaking tub was huge and so relaxing after hiking one of the many trails accessible from the lodge. The restaurant and lounge offer delicious food for varied palates, servers were ready with details on dishes and recommendations. Reception area staff were so friendly and helpful in making our first retirement trip memorable! Fireplaces on the grounds and in our room took the chill off the evenings. Rooms are quiet and we could hear the waves of the ocean with our patio doors open. If you are looking for a way to connect with nature in an upscale atmosphere The Lodge at Bodega Bay is a wonderful choice. Thank you to all staff for making our stay amazingly memorable, we will be back!

Yelp
Loved our stay and this is one of our favorite places to be at. Super relaxing, food at Drakes was delicious and our massages were nothing but amazing.

Yelp
Absolutely perfect! Enjoyed a 1-night visit with my children. Did not expect such perfection. Shout out to Matthew who assisted at check in. Friendly and knowable about the property and surrounding area. Make sure to enjoy the pool, restaurant, grounds and quick walk to the beach. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
I got the harbor view room and was worth it because of the pretty views and comfy bed . We loved going to heated pool and jacuzzi at night when it was colder .

Yelp
This place is amazing, seriously amazing! It was truly one of the best rooms I've stayed in. So luxurious and nicely decorated. Mercedes at the front desk was super nice. We went down to the beach and we got a beach access pass. I am only bummed because I didn't think ahead and book a spa appointment, it looked relaxing!

Yelp
Awesome! Rooms beautifully appointed with a fireplace, lovely bed and bedding. Bathroom and amenities great, and robes for the pool luxurious. Wonderful nights stay in a great setting with lovely views!

Yelp
Terrible experience. Tried to give them benefit of the doubt but things kept on happening. 1: we specifically told them not to do housekeeping one day in the morning because the baby was napping. We had put up a do not disturb sign and all as well. They literally called us in the middle of his nap that woke the baby up. Like who calls to say can we come now for housekeeping when they had specifically said that you can call us whenever you need it. It was just weird since it was the middle of the day and not even when shifts end. They did send an apology note but then this happened Two: I had a very important meeting in the morning. I was supposed to present virtually. The really sweet guy at the drakes restaurant told me to go to the den. The den was empty but I made the mistake of asking the front desk. They said there is a meeting at 8. I had to sit at the reception area where they turned off the music but kept on talking loudly on the phone. It disrupted my whole call. I would've ignored it if someone had come to the den. NOBODY WAS USING THE DEN! I feel like they were discriminating me because of my skin color or something. Three: housekeeping was not too good. They never refilled creamer and other stuff so make sure you specifically let them know. Four: they don't seem to clean the pool. We stayed for 4 nights and the pool always had the same bugs and leaves. Also make sure you ask for the beach/ park pass as soon as you get there. Apparently they only have 8 to hand out which is not what they advertise on the website.

Yelp
The Lodge is situated with one of the most beautiful views of Bodega Bay and the grounds are landscaped with care. The staff are just wonderful ... always ready to assist with whatever one needs. Some reviews make issue with the foghorn (when turned on in season as it was for us) but honestly, you would have to be the lightest of sleepers for it to even be noticeable beyond a calming background tone. Heavy sliding glass room doors and even the sound machine provided mitigate 95%. We hit perfect October weather, sun and blue skies that made sunsets gorgeous. The food at Drake's is very good, especially the local oysters. And the property is full of amenities from a spa, hot tub, bikes to use and more. We hosted a family get together in the "Den" and outside patio and the event contact made everything perfect for the occasion. This place and the surrounding coastal spots like Jenner, the Russian River, dinner at River's End, Occidental (eat breakfast at Howard's Station!), The Grove of Old Trees and surrounding wineries, all easy day drives, are a "true getaway" to relax and refresh.
google avatar

Sanovia J.

Yelp
Nice establishment and sexy!!! I'd recommend for a weekend getaway if you want to wind down and relax. Stunning views are all over this place. If you can try to go on a Sunday! Most people have checked out by then and grabbing a fire pit seat for dinner to watch the sunset is absolutely stunning! Now the restaurant at the lodge isn't bad but very limited. It has the ambiance and staff but the menu is lacking in my opinion. Also the entire town seems to close early like 5-6pm so that's inconvenient for people who want to eat around 7pm or get a drink. A few things I'd change but overall this place is worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
We loved our 'staycation' at the Lodge to escape the heatwave on the west coast. Every single employee was pleasant from the moment that we checked in, the front desk staff, the servers at Drakes, the housekeeping staff, the yoga instructor, etc. We ate breakfast and dinner a few times at Drakes - very good food and pretty view. We used the pool, hot tub and fitness room - loved the fire pits and the room was a nice size with pretty view and was very clean with nice soaps and other amenities. Bathrobes were super warm and cozy too! We will be back again for sure!!!

Yelp
I would recommend the Lodge for a nice weekend getaway. It's not very modern, but clean, quiet, near Doran Beach. The gym was modern with some decent equipment. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It's not cheap, but I wouldn't expect anything else in the heart of Bodega Bay.
google avatar

Neoshi C.

Yelp
This Lodge is perfect for a couples getaway weekend! This property felt peaceful, cozy, and exclusive. The location was very convenient to explore Bodega Bay, while still giving the feel of a reclusive resort. When we arrived on Saturday evening, there was a complimentary wine and cheese tasting event. Next time, we'd probably opt to stay on a Friday night as most activities (yoga, bird watching tour, etc) took place on Saturday. We had dinner at Drake's one night where the food was average, but the service was exceptional. Overall a fantastic experience, and a great way to treat yourself on a weekend getaway.

Joanna L.

Yelp
A wonderful stay! Clean rooms with nice amenities. Beautiful views. Great hot tub overlooking the bay. Nice breakfast. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Yelp
We are regular travelers to the Monterey Bay Area. We wanted to venture out to see what Bodega bay was all about. Is the lodge nice? Yes. We stayed in an ocean suite with jacuzzi tub. Would we stay here again? No. The room was outdated. The room had several things that we felt needed attention and/or repair. Not really an ocean view. It's like a bay view. Room service was great and accommodating.
google avatar

Dana M.

Yelp
Horrible food, dirty rooms. The food was plated Sysco food straight from the bag. Mushy and tasteless pasta, wilted soggy lettuce with tasteless dressing. This is far from "fine dining". Save your money go some place else.
google avatar

Paula K.

Yelp
This lodge/hotel is not great. As you walk into the lobby to check in, there were tables set up with cheesy gifts and items for sale. The lobby was just not attractive. The rooms are poorly decorated. This is not a lodge, like say the Del Monte Lodge in Carmel or the Quail Lodge in the Carmel Valley. I hate showers with curtains. I hate showers that you have to step into a bathtub to use. The plumbing was difficult to adjust, the temperature was either too hot or too cold. Also the countertop was unattractive and is another example of the poor decorating skills of the designer. The fireplace was not centered to the room/bed and just lacked any beauty at all. the fireplace was flat and flush against the wall and so unattractive. I went to the restaurant for dinner. I ordered a crab salad which had strings of crab mixed with lettuces. Our other guests were equally disappointed. We returned to our room at 4:00pm and our room was not cleaned, no fresh towels and no one answered when I called the front desk. The cleaning solvent used is too strong and has a scent that i could smell when I checked in and when I walked into our room. This place is shabby. And I do not mean "shabby chic." So if you like spending 600.00 a night for a room that lacks any charm or beauty, then be my guest. The view from the room is beautiful . It overlooks the marshlands of Bodega Bay. The property that this hotel sits upon is gorgeous. This just goes to show you how the building plans can distract from the surrounding natural beauty. This hotel could have been magnificent if the builders and designers didn't cheap out with the faucets, tiles and other cheap embellishments. This hotel looks designed by Home Depot .

Jen W.

Yelp
Pricey, but we thought it would be worth it to get away from the city and completely relax for a day. However, that won't happen there. With their late check in time of 4 PM and their morning checkout time of 1130, there is really no spending time THERE. Basically, what you're getting is a bed for the night for $400. Of course, you could do two nights and get that day in between to relax - for closer to $1000. Cough.

Yelp
Unsurprisingly, I am now at an age where I'll pay dearly for a weekend of instant ramen and hard liquor. I no longer have the intestinal fortitude to stomach (quite literally) this type of diet, even when supplemented by the many scrumptious au d'oeuvres and a banger of a vegan tofu dish at the Bodega Lodge. In the days after, my body reminded me relentlessly of my debts. It simply refused to function outside the confines of my bed. Yet, as I lay broken and spent, with traces of liquid IV lingering on my taste buds, I was happy. Physical body be damned, my soul was still enjoying all the beauty I had experienced on Saturday night. Saturday was very beautiful. I remember it quite clearly, especially the moments before I asked the friendly and willing bartender to stream ice cold Hennessy to my veins. The space was dim, warmed by the smiles hidden behind face masks. All of us honored guests were standing side by side. Tall ones relaxed and eager, short ones strategically jockeying for viewing position. This opportunistic shuffling of steps was soon put to a halt by acoustic music filling the room, in a rather commanding manner from the DJ. Honestly it's not music I prefer, but very appropriate for the occasion. The melody conjured an image of an endless meadow, lighting just before dusk. A gentle breeze sways a sea of grass gilded by the touch of autumn. Two lovers in flannel are embracing, one holding a mahogany guitar, stringing music for the scene. I was transported back to the lodge from my daydream when the suits entered. Oh, what a treat they were. The suits oozed class, sophistication, and one more synonym. It fit very well on the athletic and slightly less athletic bodies of the spouses. And the color? They were of a shade that I do not know the words for, and maroon and green are simply too crass to do them justice. My eyes were fixed on the suits until both stood face to face and a soothing voice welcomed me to the occasion by confirming my status as an honored guest. The music had stopped. Only rain lightly tapping the windows, occasional bouts of laughter, and the Vows. In this quiet room at Bodega Bay, the voice of the suits was the sound of emotions, memories, happiness, empathy, and love. This symphony of sounds was the recipe of a beauty so intense it sends a gush of warmth to the eyes. Several fellow honored guests fanned their faces to delay tears, fruitless efforts to stop these droplets of experienced wedding crashers. I did not bother. I watched the ceremony intently, absorbing everything around me, until I was happy that this feeling of beauty was imprinted in my mind. And then, and only then, did I let the Hennessy drift me away. In bed, with a pillowcase damp from the overnight drool of a drunk, I reminisced on these moments. Flashes of the tent, the dancing, and the speeches were welcomed interruptions as I tried to focus with a brain operating on suboptimal levels. I tried to focus on the beauty I had imprinted, so that I could bring it to picture and savor it once more. In the elegant hearth at Bodega Lodge, the suits pronounced their love for each other and sealed forever with a kiss. I closed my eyes.

Yelp
Rooms were nice but the sundries were unknown brands which didn't have any fragrances at all. Would have been nice if they were name brands that had some nice smell to it. Spa and gym facilities had nice equipment except for the peleton bike had expired subscription thus you couldn't use it. Never seen a big jacuzzi which was infinity like. Pool was heated but was dirty at the bottom thus I changed my mind about taking a dip. Wish they had restaurant service for the pool and jacuzzi. Parking lot is in dire need of resurfacing and restriping since there were old lines that overlapped with the new ones. Facility could use more lighting especially since the there are no lights along the roads in Bodega Bay. Staff were super nice and friendly!

Yelp
If you have ever been on a cruise, to an island paradise like Tahiti, or even to an exotic ocean-view restaurant, you will know what I'm talking about when I say that there's something magical about listening to the waves softly lap the shore that adds an ambiance few can rival to any hotel, spa, or restaurant. Bodega Bay Lodge, however, has this ambiance in all three, which builds upon itself for a vacation or destination escape to sentimentally remember forever. The hotel sits prominently at the pinnacle entrance to Bodega Bay, with a majestic grandeur, evocative of the perfect melding of rustic, luxurious, and desirable. Entry way to the hotel's lobby is flanked by tall trees, wood paneling, and tall exposed crossbeams, set off by rich detailing in the drapery, seating areas, and coastal Wine Country decor. Front desk staff were easy to work with on our confirmation of our stay, making our reservations for dinner and the spa at the times that worked best for our schedule, as well as upon check-in, with informative notes on the wine hour, accessing the pool, and allowing us early arrival to our suite. Our room was in the 600s building, with front row, unobstructed panoramic views of the bird sanctuary, and the picturesque winding coastline to Doran beach. Entry way opened to elegantly tall ceilings, a king size, plushtop bed, cozy fireplace, and large private deck with lounge chairs. Bathroom was my favorite feature of the room, with timed heat fans, oversized tub with lavender bath salts, local EO brand bath products locally sourced from Marin, and a beautifully custom tiled shower with rainfall shower head. Our in-room couples massage was flawless, Hot Shell by two wonderful and seasoned massage therapists, who encouraged us to leave the slider open for an ocean breeze accompaniment and sunshine on our backs while we relaxed in the therapist's capable hands. This was followed by complimentary chocolates and room service of a beautifully arranged cheese platter, and bottle of local Pinot Noir. We savored our after massage glow with our delicious cheese and wine pairing in our matching custom robes on the deck in the sun, and at that moment, the worries and stresses of the world seemed to fall away. Dinner and breakfast at the Duck Club restaurant was simply delightful with obvious attention to detail in every plate. Tours of the grounds, pool, and strikingly beautiful infinity edge Jacuzzi echoed the serene luxury of the entire estate. I can not think of another hotel experience that I've had that can top this one, in sumptuous splendor, relaxation, and complete delight. If you are coming to the Wine Country and want to experience it in the most decadent style possible, Bodega Bay Lodge is the only place you will want to look. Wine Country leisure, ocean view richness, and relaxing in an oasis away from it all; find your bliss here.

Yelp
I loved this hotel! The rooms were big and beautiful with a large bathroom. The food was good and delivered to my room. The view at night is amazing, but there is an annoying sound every ten seconds from the light house or buoy that you can hear from the balcony. Thankfully you can't hear it in the room. The walls are well insulated for light sleepers like myself. They also provide a noise machine in the room and have a nespresso vertuo machine! I have another reservation for next week here.

Yelp
Our overnight experience was more than we could have asked for! It was our first time and we stayed in one of the Seaside Suites to celebrate our birthdays and 27th wedding anniversary. We felt safe and welcomed right away with the check in staff being in masks and behind plastic barriers. Online, touch less check-in was offered as well. We were early for check-in so we left our bags and had lunch down the street at The Tides. We received a call and texts earlier than the 4 pm check-in time that our room was ready. Our suite was absolutely stunning and immaculate. I can't even begin to list all of the amenities and most importantly, it was as clean as can be! We felt safe when in our suite and also walking within the lodge area. We would definitely stay again and recommend it!!!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed 3 nights here for my birthday. I honestly don't think I have ever experienced a place with better customer service. Everyone was wonderful from the front desk man, to the maids, the estheticians, and massage therapists, the waiters and hostesses even the guests were nice. We each received 4 different spa services while here and everything was just over the top amazing. They truly cater to all your needs here. We will definitely be returning here. I highly recommend! All around Beautiful place

Yelp
I went for my birthday trip to the lodge and it was fantastic. I went to Drake's restaurant and the spa and both were excellent they gave me a sea enzyme facial and it was very soothing. Rooms have a fire place and there is a fire pit outside that is great. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yelp
This is our first "ok, we've been vaccinated so let's go somewhere" trip, so we headed back to BBL, where we've been going (about) annually for now almost 25 years. Everything was as normal as it could be... staff all wearing masks, and guests, too, in common areas (but of course not in the pool or hot tub, which were both open). Occupancy is a bit low so we had easy access to seats with a fire pit near Drake's (after several design misfires over the years they finally configured that space just perfectly), and the service was great. We ordered food from the food truck (Drake's is closed for remodeling) and the food was excellent for takeout/delivery. We had the wedge salad, grilled cheese/soup combo (add the ham for $3... it's worth it!, salmon tacos and cheeseburger/fries combo). They must run like demons, because our food was delicious and hot when delivered. Rooms are not cleaned during your stay, but we were (are) here only two nights, so anything we needed was delivered quickly. It was GREAT to be back. If you've been here before (or if you've never been here), come on up for a visit. The virus can temporarily make things a bit weird, but it can't detract from the beauty of this northern California coastal gem.
