17 Royal Family Vacation Resorts From Around the World | Vogue

"An eco‑resort in western Belize, this secluded, jungle‑engulfed property on an organic farm welcomed Prince Harry during the Diamond Jubilee tour; he dined on traditional kak’ik soup, explored ancient Mayan ruins, and slept in a light‑filled Treetop Suite with a private jacuzzi high in the greenery, with staff deeming him friendly, laid‑back, and warm." - Boutayna Chokrane, Andrea Bartz

Great experience at Chaa Creek! The property is so beautiful and I loved the size of the grounds and the different hikes. Candi went above and beyond to get us a medication refill and she has great customer experience overall. The rooms were delightful and clean. We loved seeing all of the wildlife. Wonderful place!

Our stay at Chaa Creek was truly unforgettable! The spa villa was absolutely stunning—peaceful, luxurious, and perfect for relaxing. The massages were some of the best we’ve ever had, leaving us completely refreshed and recharged. The restaurants were phenomenal. You can truly taste the passion and craftsmanship in every dish. The chef makes his own bread fresh daily, and it’s incredible—one of the highlights of our meals! What made the trip even better was how family-friendly the entire resort is. We felt completely at ease traveling with kids, and their babysitting service was a lifesaver. It allowed us to enjoy the spa and explore the property while knowing our little ones were in great hands. Chaa Creek is a perfect combination of luxury, nature, and warm hospitality. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone looking for an amazing Belize getaway!

Our family just spent three days at Chaa Creek, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Our driver from the airport, who’s been with the resort for nearly 20 years, was kind, professional, and shared so much local knowledge that the drive itself felt like part of the adventure. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with drinks while the staff handled all of our luggage and check-in. We stayed in the Ix Chel Complete Villa, which was absolutely stunning. Having our own private infinity pool, hot tub, and outdoor lounge area overlooking the jungle made it feel like our own peaceful retreat. The villa was beautifully designed with both indoor and outdoor showers and incredibly comfortable bedding. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and the staff was warm and welcoming at every turn. We did multiple horseback rides with Teddy, who was amazing with the horses and full of knowledge about the jungle, and an ATV tour with Walter, who taught us so much about Mayan culture and local history. The grounds are beautifully maintained, preserving the natural jungle while keeping everything pristine and comfortable. Every staff member greeted us with a smile, and many have been there 10–20 years, which says a lot about how special this place is. The concierge team went above and beyond with every request. Chaa Creek is truly unforgettable, and we can’t wait to come back.

Incredibly well managed lodge. Great service, friendly staff, good food . Everyone takes pride in what they are doing and as a guest nothing is too much trouble. Lovely place to take a family as there are lots of activities on offer. Beautiful pool and our room was spacious and well equipped. There is also a large space if you need to do work. We look forward to returning. All in all a magical experience. We look forward to coming back. Thank you Chaa Lodge for a wonderful few days in the rain forest.

We cannot say enough great things about this place! Alexi picked us up at the airport and drove us to the lodge. He made the 2 hour drive very interesting by sharing a lot of history of Belize, the lodge, the people and the available activities around the lodge. Upon check in, Randy greeted us with a smiling face and a delicious cup of juice. Our room was beautiful and very spacious. We had our own private patio where we could sit and listen to the many birds while we looked at them through our binoculars. The grounds are stunningly beautiful and immaculately kept. We had a 3 meal food plan and thoroughly enjoyed every meal! The wait staff was always very friendly and helpful. There were delicious options on the menu and each meal was freshly cooked with organic ingredients. They were also very conscientious of any food allergies that we might have. There was always purified water available for us to fill our water bottles, which is very important with all of the hiking and activities that we enjoyed on and off the premises. Seleni was our guide for our nature walk. She was a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm about all of the flora and fauna that we saw! Ricky was our guide for our tour of the Mayan Ruins at Xunantunich. He was a wealth of information and made the trip very special and interesting. Walter was our guide for the onsite Butterfly farm and the historical museum. He also was the guide for the night creatures walk. He did a great job with both! Yume and Israel were our guides in Guatemala for the Tikal excursion. They were also amazing and the experience was unforgettable! Then, on our last day, Ricky drove us to the airport. We were so sad to be leaving. The staff and guides were all so friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and kind that we already felt like we were leaving our new family! This place was a great getaway for us as we celebrated our honeymoon, but it was also wonderful for families with kids as there are so many options for activities on and off the grounds. We definitely would love to book another vacation here in the future!

One of the Best hotels we have stayed. We do travel lot all over the world in 5/6 star hotels. All the staff were so nice and food is Michelin star food. They go extra mile to accommodate any extra need that you have. In our view you do not need to visit NY or London for great food. In villa every detail was amazing including availability of tooth pick!! Owner Mic, Bryony and mom are amazing human beings. I would definitely come back soon with extended family

Everyone staying at the lodge who did excursions raved about them. The town close by was wonderful with the chocolate Tour, I went out to eat. We did the Rio for caves and waterfalls the night tour the butterfly and nature preserve the botanical gardens the canoes were absolutely amazing. We went upstream for a few hours. You could either stay in the resort the entire time explore or do excursions Perfect location.

Unforgettable experience!!! We can’t say enough amazing things about Chaa Creek! We stayed at The Camp while we were there and had a wonderful experience in the jungle from the howler monkeys, the hike along the Macal River to The Lodge, but mostly Docio’s hospitality! He’s a treasure, we enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners he and his wife prepared, but mostly sharing time and stories around the table was the most fun and we learned so much from talking with Docio! While at Chaa Creek, we went to Xunantunich Ruins with the best guide, Kevlin. We had a great time listening to the history and learning about the ruins. We also had a lot of laughs and will never forget the experience he offered. We also went cave tubing with another great guide, Darren! He showed us so many cool things, like the cave inside the cave, the bat cave and explained the different formations. He was truly a wealth of knowledge. The tubing and swimming were an added bonus beyond the cave exploration. Transportation from the airport to Chaa Creek was seamless and we were greeted by friendly and welcoming people in a beautiful landscape! Highly recommend Chaa Creek, would definitely go back!
