I can't say enough good things about this place. All the staff here are amazing and seem to genuinely care. From the check in time, to dinners, and adventures. Everything was amazing. My husband is always hot and wears a rag around his next. Ariel saw this and 2 minutes after we sat down for dinner he brought out a fan and placed it in front of my husband so he could be comfortable for dinner. Service with out having to ask, what more can you want. Toni. Our horseback riding guide, was so nice and took things at our pace, not his. We did nothing but laugh the entire time. Money well spent!

We stayed at the lodge for three days during our Belizean excursion, and we were completely satisfied. The rooms were amazing, the grounds themselves are breathtakingly beautiful, the food was outstanding and the service was one of a kind. Highly recommended!

We took a family vacation to Belize and Chaa Creek was the first stop. Six of us stayed in their Spa Villa, which was quite nice but all the way up the hill so prepare for some steps. The lodge was great. Food at the restaurant was a little expensive, especially at dinner. Stick with local cuisine when you can since that's where they shine, whereas other cuisines miss the mark. On-site tours were awesome, we did canoeing into town and horseback riding, both new experiences for my parents. Overall, would definitely come back.

We just finished our stay at Chaa Creek as a part of the adventure honeymoon package. We did 4 nights at Chaa Creek and 3 at Ray Caye. Words can’t describe how AMAZING everything was at Chaa Creek - the staff, the food, the service, the accommodations, the excursions - all some of the best we’ve ever experienced. Kevlin picked us up from the airport, our flight arrived 45 minutes early and he was there waiting with a sign for us right on time as he was tracking our flight! Along the way, he provided us with education about the Belize landscape and culture, which was great. We stayed in the Junior Ixel Suite, which has a private hot tub & AC - staff came daily to clean, refresh water supply, towels, bedding etc - all done while we were out on excursions. While at Chaa Creek, we did horseback riding, canoeing, tour of Xunantunich Mayan site, a couples massage and a tour of the history museum and butterfly sanctuary. We had amazing tour guides for each experience. We had individual tours (me, my husband and the guide) for most of these experiences which allowed us to go at our own pace and have a personalized experience. Thank you Darren for your love and knowledge of the Maya! Next - the FOOD! The food was delicious - we were so happy with the quality of variety of food. Much of the food is grown on property or local to the area. The drinks were also delicious - bartender Dwayne in particular crafted some delicious cocktails for us. We also had a private dinner as part of our package which was very romantically set up and so well done. We had an amazing experience with all of the staff at Chaa Creek - everyone is friendly, helpful & genuinely seems to enjoy each other and their work. It was an honor to stay at Chaa Creek during our honeymoon and we hope to be back!

Chaa Creek is an unbelievable welcoming escape into the rainforest of Belize. I first stayed at the Macal River Camp in 2017 on a solo trip and was so delighted that I brought back 10 women for a retreat after the camp reopened (closed for several years after COVID) January 1-3, 2025. The owners were brilliant and brought back the same family who ran the camp prior to the closure, and the Dawson family has been taking care of camp guests for nearly two decades. The food is phenomenal (breakfast and dinner included), the experience itself in the open air bungalows with the howler monkeys is once-in-a-lifetime, all of the staff go above and beyond on service, and the other amenities are fantastic, including the pool, restaurant, canoes, butterfly farm and more. I have traveled to every country in Central America and host retreats all over. I can't recommend Chaa Creek highly enough.

We had the best stay ever at Chaa Creek! From the delicious food to the incredible room and activities. Everything was truly amazing. They also have their own tour guides available that are all so kind and knowledgeable. Every part of our stay was impeccable and we can't wait to go back in the future. If you are in need of the perfect getaway, this is the spot!

The staff was absolutely wonderful, every single one was so incredibly nice. The food was amazing, even for a picky bunch, and the pool and grounds were phenomenal. This place is amazing. The night high was awesome we saw so many creatures and canoeing and tubing on the river was worthwhile as well. The Mayan ruin tour was also very very good. We stayed in the Wright House because we had our kids and wanted the extra space but it was a bit run down and hot. The 2 rooms were air conditioned but the main area and bathrooms were not, and it was HOT. It’s also a pretty significant hike up and down to the room which was fine for us but may be tough for some. Not sure how people stay in the non-air conditioned rooms, it was 105 during the day May 10. The other villa my parents stayed in was amazing and beautiful and had great AC. Would highly recommend the villas with AC they were incredibly. This place was very special and we highly recommend and will definitely be back.
