The Lodge at Jaguar Reef

We had a great experience at the The Lodge at Jaguar Reef/ Almond Beach Resort. We were there for a wedding and all of the staff were all wonderful… super friendly and helpful with excellent suggestions. Special callout to Priscilla at the front desk and Gilbert (the pool guy and cool guy) who was really helpful with our safe. The resort itself was very nice with a couple of pools and a great bar out on the pier with a fun rope swing for the kids. We stayed in a beachfront spa room which was really nice. It was towards the end of the resort right on the beach with a great lanai and very little foot traffic in front of our room. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to add a microwave to the room and increase the size of the water heater to better fill the wonderful bathtub. We ate breakfast at the restaurant and highly recommend the breakfast burrito with their local salsa… delicious! Added resort bonuses were the free bicycles, unlimited in-room coffee and hot/cold bottled water in the room. Overall, if we were ever to return to Hopkins, we would definitely stay there again.

10/10 resort! Julio was absolutely amazing!! All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Location was perfect and close to town. The rooms and grounds were well kept and clean. Food was great! Definitely recommended the ceviche bar and pizza. Can’t wait to go back!

We are writing this review as homeowners in Savannah Homes Residences at Jaguar Reef Resort, so we have the unique privilege of experiencing the resort and its staff not just as guests, but as part of our everyday life when we are at our home in Belize. We use the amenities regularly and see the team in action day after day—and they continue to impress us.||The warmth, professionalism, and genuine kindness of the staff here are exceptional. Everyone greets you with a smile, remembers you, and goes out of their way to help—without ever making it feel transactional. It is hospitality rooted in pride, care, and community. We would especially like to recognize a few individuals who consistently go above and beyond:||Larry at the beach and pools is an absolute delight. He is always cheerful, welcoming, and incredibly helpful—whether it’s setting up paddleboards, assisting guests, or simply making sure everyone is comfortable and enjoying themselves. Seeing Larry is always a highlight of our day.||Gilbert, Douglas, and Juan, who maintain the pools and grounds, do an outstanding job. The property is immaculate, but what truly stands out is how friendly, respectful, and helpful they are at all times. Their care and pride in the resort are evident.||At the Paddle House Restaurant, Leo and Kristen are wonderful servers—attentive, warm, and genuinely joyful to interact with. They create an experience that keeps us coming back again and again.|||Victor at the bar is fantastic—professional, friendly, and always welcoming & Theo, the head of security, is truly a gem. He is kind, observant, reassuring, and consistently makes residents and guests feel safe and cared for.||There are many others whose names we are still learning, but every single staff member contributes to the incredible atmosphere at Jaguar Reef. This is a team that treats people with dignity and heart, and it shows in every interaction.||Jaguar Reef is a beautiful resort, but it is the people who make it truly special. The Lodge at Jaguar Reef is such a uniquely beautiful place in Hopkins—the pictures simply don’t do it justice. The Big Dock Bar is stunning and the perfect spot to relax, have a drink, or enjoy some fresh ceviche. It also has a platform on the top deck along with a swinging rope to jump off the dock and into the water. The views are absolutely breathtaking.||The staff was also amazing. Kaya checked in every day to make sure I was enjoying my stay. She puts in so much effort to tend to every guest—it really shows. Greg was a pleasure to work with as well and helped a lot with booking tours and transportation. Captain Larry always had something to say to make you smile. I also greatly appreciated the support from Julio and the entire staff.||I stayed in the deluxe suite with pool (lower unit) and loved it. The room was very spacious, furnished with everything you might need during your stay, and there was also a hammock outside to relax in. The pool was lovely too—just keep in mind that it is an outdoor plunge pool and can be affected by the weather.||Highly recommend for a beautiful, relaxing stay.

My husband and I stayed at Jaguar Reef for our anniversary, and honestly… they understood the assignment. From the moment we walked in, Tarik, Robin, and the front desk team were so friendly and welcoming. They greeted us with cocktails (always the right way to start a vacation) and were super accommodating when we asked for a later checkout. A special shoutout to Kayla — she helped us set up the most romantic anniversary dinner on the beach. It was beautiful, intimate, and such a thoughtful touch that made the night unforgettable. Our room was spotless, well decorated, and had the most gorgeous view of the beach. Waking up to that every morning? Iconic. We also absolutely fell in love with Hopkins. Between the warmth of the people and the exceptional service at Jaguar Reef, we’re already talking about when we’re coming back. Highly recommend — they made our anniversary feel truly special.

My wife and I had an excellent experience at the Lodge at Jaguar Reef. The grounds were meticulously kept. The food was great at the restaurant there. And everyone was professional and courteous. We particularly enjoyed Queli, our frequent server in the restaurant. Kayla, who puts in long days to assure quests are completely satisfied. Tarik, who got us setup in our room when we arrived. Jasmine at the front desk. And Captain Larry, who always has something to say that makes you feel good.

This is wonderfully peaceful resort. The staff is great especially Richard aka Big Baby, Tio, Edgar, Lucas, the Captain, as well as every staff member I came in contact with. The resort had everything we needed and was close to nearby restaurants in case you don’t want to enjoy the on grounds Paddle House. Definitely recommend if you visit Hopkins this is a great place to stay.

This is a beautiful resort!! The staff is fantastic, especially Big Baby (Richard), Joseph, and Kayla. Our room was beautiful, but the bed was hard. The beaches are great and so are the drinks. This is a quaint property within walking distance to everything happening in the Village of Hopkins.
