The whole property was absolutely beautiful! We went to a family reunion there. We were able to stay in villas right next to each other and another couple stayed in the cottages which were also absolutely gorgeous. My family of eight stayed in a three bedroom villa # 11. The villa was just perfect! With breathtaking views, beautiful pool and bonfire pit on patio! This was an ideal place and set up for a family! The whole resort was clean, beautiful and the staff was superb! On top of that, it was a quiet and peaceful resort which was ideal. We went to two other places for dinner and although the hotels were beautiful, there were too many people - very crowded and loud. It's different because it is not a hotel but rather a neighborhood of cottages and villas. Huge difference! The grounds are breathtaking! I loved this place and will be back!! Highly recommend

We had stayed in Kauai on the north shore previously but had wanted something closer to the canyon and all of the south shore restaurants and shops. The Lodge at Kukui’ula was recommended by a travel group I’m on and I am so thrilled we tried it! First of all, our bungalow was perfect for the two of us and truly felt like our home for five days (with a full kitchen and washer/dryer because we are the crazy people who love doing laundry daily on vacation!). We loved being able to just go with the flow of our days - never worrying about whether we could get to breakfast right away because there was always food and space, not needing to use the fitness center at the crack of dawn because it never felt busy, and of course loved that we could hang at the pool whenever we wanted with plenty of chair options. If you want pool and housekeeping service every second of the day like some of the bigger hotels, this isn’t the place for you, but if you want a friendly, relaxed, still luxurious experience that feels like home, don’t hesitate to book it!

The facilities are all there but getting very dated. Great restaurants near by which is good because the food at The Lodge is mediocre. Be prepared if you rent a Cottage for a lot of deferred maintenance, fans in our unit don’t work, the electric is a mystery. We have five remotes to operate the living room A/V. The hot water takes so long to come on not sure the dishwasher or laundry really worked. $350 for a round of golf, we played behind some member guests who may never have played golf before. Check out the unit before you commit $20,000 for a week you should get the optimal experience.

Our experience at the Lodge and with the bungalows ( we had three for a family trip) exceeded our expectations. Everyone left very happy.....everyone enjoyed the pool, the people, the continental breakfast, and the rooms. Now one of our favorite places!!

The Lodge is impeccable... gorgeous grounds, lovely view of Poipu and Spouting Horn, and 5-star ammenities and cottages/homes. I had a fantastic massage at the spa. This is the perfect spot for a family vacation, especially if you want a kitchen and gathering spaces.

Such a lovely place that we look forward to returning to year after year. The service is top-notch. This is true luxury with privacy, and unpretentious and unobtrusive in every way. Our one complaint, which seems like a 'small thing' but is an every day, must-hour disturbance, is the landscaping and golf course maintenance. While the grounds are beautiful, they require an ARMY of landscapers, starting at 6am EVERY day of the week (and weekend) with gas-powered equipment of every imaginable kind. This goes on most of the morning and into the afternoon, every day, including Sunday. Switching to electric machines would not only be much better for the environment but make a huge difference for the overall guest and member experience.

This is the most amazing resort one can stay at! The staff make the vacation seamless and wonderful! Could not find a more serene, beautiful place with the most wonderful staff and servers!

Just returned from a week at Kukui'ula and I have no idea what the negative reviews are all about here. We rented a 4 bedroom casita and it was spectacular. Well appointed and maintained. Very clean. Yes it is low season so we had to walk 5 steps to order a drink at the pool because there was no one waiting on the area. Oh my!! What a tragedy ;-) Are people really that lazy?? The staff at the lodge was very helpful and courteous and happy to assist with any questions or needs. We will be returning in the near future!!!

Yelp
We had an amazing experience with our young kids and their grandparents. It'll be a memory we'll cherish for a long time. Luckily our cottage was without major issues, and the fact that there were geckos and some wildlife in and around the cottage at times didn't bother us. This is in fact a tropical island and Kauai, after all. Still tremendously well kept properties. The set up is ideal for families and/or folks interested in golf trips. The property is sprawling, picturesque, and tremendously available. You can walk or golf cart wherever you'd like. We found it without major crowds even during peak child/summer break visiting times. This is likely due to the high number of owners who don't rent and the higher price cost. It was very peaceful but just enough other families around. There's a few adult only areas (pool, etc) for those honeymooning or getting away from their kids. The pool area next to the lodge/club and the spa are the two shinning stars. The pool is actually multiple pools, none too deep, and two different hot tubs of differing temps. The small tube slide is a hit for kids and adults. There's no lifeguard so beware but the average 3' depth makes it easier for parents to relax more (but still monitor!). The spa experience was amazing. It was one of the best massages I've ever had -- probably number two! -- and amazing spa benefits and layout, too. Believe it or not the $75 per day cost just to use the facilities is worth it between the steam room, sauna, hot and cold pools, and awesome treats. Highly recommending going through the self-guided multiple step traditional treatment. Don't worry the gym is free! Btw, they have a full selection of their own Peloton shoes. You don't need to bring your own. Tons of classes and personal trainers if you'd like. The daily activities are fun for kids. Make sure to sign up in advance. The club restaurant is fairly good as is the pool restraunt and bar but it's worth adventuring and cooking in -- the farm/farm stand has lots of free bounty each day. Go visit it! The staff were all super welcoming, friendly, and helpful. It's a laid back place but attentive (e.g., every 3rd day house-keeping). You'd do best to seek them out if you need it, and know it's not going to be immediate texts back to concierge. It's island-life style but still luxury stay vibes. Cottage is great set-up for in-laws/grandparents with separate Ohana king beds. Second bedroom in cottage itself can be made into twin beds. Very nice kitchen and living areas. Showers awesome and fun outdoor showers if geckos don't weird you out. Only wishes are for longer hours on the gym (closes at 6pm or 7pm some days, one day early at 5pm), and some easier EV hook-ups. This was a great use of our Hyatt points. We stayed her previously in a Villa for non-points, and it was wonderful for our family there, too. We'll be back!

Yelp
Although beautiful, VERY dirty. We are in Villa 1. $7K a night. Cockroaches, King Spiders, Beetles. Non stop. The GM, Andy, of Destination Hyatt, is of no help. They said they sprayed for pests and cleaned but we came home to more bugs. Including one in my bed. I find them crawling on my clothes that are hanging. It is incredibly sad and frustrating. This villa is not well kept. Our amazing vacation is ruined. I've stayed in Hawaii many times and never encountered this. Do not stay here! I asked him to move us to another villa or to the Hyatt down the street. He emphatically said no. Poor management. I am so so upset.

Yelp
Lovely property with well equipped villas, Cottages and bungalows. Clubhouse has beautiful views of the coastline. The pool seemed to be geared for children with very few quiet spots for adults. Even the adult pool had children and no pool attendants to help move chairs or umbrellas. Service is extremely slow and although friendly, very unorganized. If you're looking for great service skip this inviting property. Also, lots of construction and noise during the day.

Yelp
This is literally the most perfect resort we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. It is truly paradise. It is that elusive blend of privacy, effortlessly thoughtful service, and low-key luxury. The food, the lodgings, the outdoor showers, the spa... are all lovely in every way. We have been celebrating our anniversary here for several years and it continues to be our favorite week of the year. We cannot wait to return.
