We loved our stay here. The location is so serene. The view off our balcony is amazing with the red rocks. We also took advantage of the hot tub. There is a nice fire in their fireplace going every night and the place is so cozy. I only wish they had fridges in the rooms. The staff is very nice and accommodating.

When we take a vacation, we try to find lodging that harmonizes with the scenery and culture that surrounds it. If successful, our overnight stay becomes a seamless part of our total experience. If you are looking for something similar while you explore Capital Reefs National Park, this is your place. This lodge sits on a several thousand acre ranch, with bison grazing on one side and a river slowly meandering along the red cliffs on the other side. We decided to spend the better part of a day just hanging out here, because it was so relaxing and serene. In the afternoon, we took an hour long hike along one of the private trails along the river. We saw huge trout by the dozens in the sandy shallows, golden eagles soaring above the red rocks, and swallows dipping in and out of the tall grass marshes. Charlene was a gracious hostess, and every morning she served up delicious breakfasts in the lodge restaurant. The rooms are not large, but they are wonderfully decorated in "ranch style" furniture and artwork. The large lobby is welcoming in a rustic way, and I concluded several evenings by warming myself in front of the wood fire.

We visited The Lodge at Red River Ranch while visiting Capitol Reef National Park. The facilities are beautiful - just like you would envision a lodge to be. The host was very friendly and gave us information for other places we might want to see in the area. The living area was comfortable and she built a large fire in the fireplace, which we enjoyed that evening. The room was comfortable and it was quiet, even though there were others staying there with us. As we drove into the property, they have buffalo in the pasture in front of the lodge, which we enjoyed watching. ||Although we left early and did not eat breakfast there, they did have a full, cooked to order menu for breakfast items.

One of the best- if not THE best lodging on our USA trip. Worth the extra for a balcony facing the red cliff- stunning in the morning light. Very good breakfast and top service all round. Wish we'd stayed longer.

One of the coolest places I've ever stayed. The maximalist decor and construction creates a truly immersive "Old West" experience, and I will be dreaming about the tranquil green orchards against the backdrop of fiery red cliffs until I return in the Fall.

Google
What an incredible find! We are so glad we stayed here on our recent trip across Utah. The lodge owner is so friendly and knowledgeable and goes out of her way to ensure you have a great stay. Location is amazing, quiet, peaceful. Rooms are immaculate and well kept. Front living room for all guests is a warm inviting space to meet other travelers and perhaps put together a puzzle or play games.

My camping trip at capitol reef got snowed out. Luckily we pivoted to stay here. Fantastic ambiance, food, and people. It is well decorated with a cool rustic vibe, has an unobstructed view of red cliffs with bison grazing in the front. I really have to reemphasize that this is locally run by a family of incredibly kind people.

Probably my favorite lodge of all time. Beautiful unique rooms, friendly, great food. They make breakfast and dinner on occasion.||Near to an outstanding national park in Capitol Reef.||I went first with my wife, then returned the next year with the extended family.

Yelp
The Lodge and the Family here makes you feel as if you are a part of the lodge family. you be . It's so peaceful. Each room is beautiful and unique. It's close to a beautiful quaint town with everything you need for your day in the Arches. We are already planning our families return trip in the spring. No pictures can describe the peace we felt here and our day in the Arches. Dinner at Broken Spur is our next planned night out when we stay here. Enjoy Breakfast in the restaurant at the lodge with Coffee and Tea available . Such a wonderful accommodating family. My husband has dementia and he was so happy and relaxed here . So glad he loved it here. Not enough stars to show how special the Lodge is.

Yelp
LOVE! I can't say how happy I am that we stayed here. Breakfast was delicious and everyone that works there was great. Beautiful rooms, loved every little thing. Would have appreciated a no phone or laptop without headphones in common living area though. Had to listen to a groups laptop on loudest setting for 2 hours by fireplace. Also, bare feet in common area is kinda gross. A few house rules would have been helpful for inconsiderate guest. The Bison on the property was an added bonus. Would absolutely stay again.

Yelp
The lodge and ranch are located in a pristine location just outside of Capitol Reef National Park. The views in any direction are peaceful as well as beautiful. We stayed in the Cornflower suite. This room is on the second of three floors. While we didn't hear any noise above us, I was constantly concerned for our neighbors with our squeaky hardwood floors. The room was small, but in such a beautiful location, we spent little time in it. The staff, to me, seemed less enthusiastic and friendly as other locations we stayed at on this trip.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Step back in time and unplug. Best nights sleep I've had in a while and hot tub was great. Breakfast is phenomenal and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We were planning a trip to some national parks in Utah, and planned to spend a couple of days at Capitol Reef national park. My wife had the duty to find lodging in the area and she found something she described as a rustic lodge in a little town I'd never heard of called Teasdale, UT. "Uh, sounds great", Mr. Sarcastic replied. We ended up at the Lodge at Red River Ranch, and what a pleasant surprise it was. Nestled along the Fremont river, which runs red from all the red rock sandstone in the area, this lodge is a comfortable stopping point for a visit to Capitol Reef. We spent a couple of days touring and hiking in Capitol Reef national park (highly recommended) and were stunned by the scenery, and the isolation on most of the trails. We went in September, after the heavy summer tourist season, but my sense is that this park is never really that busy. Most of the attention, rightly so, goes to its spectacular neighbors Zion and Bryce Canyon just a few hours away. Still, if you're a park collector like me, you'll want to add this one to your tally. The lodge sits in a meadow, below red sandstone cliffs, with buffalo grazing just beyond the fence. Rooms are small but comfortable, and decorated in a rustic Western theme. Common areas are very nice, with comfortable seats, tables, board games, and reading material to pass the time. There is a dining room for breakfast, and lots of maps and advice on touring the local area. They also sell jewelry and gift items made by local artisans. The hot tub sitting below the cliffs makes a spectacular setting to enjoy part of an evening in hot water looking at a few stars.

Yelp
Our family of four just left there, we are ready to go back. This place has all the modern conveniences we needed, WiFi, without the nuisance of televisions. The Lodge Living room has lots of table to sit at, play games, look at maps, and they have all the normal family games to play, chess, life, sorry, monopoly, etc.. though it is hard to stay in the lodge since it's placed on a beautiful working farm, complete with Buffalo they raise. The valley walls show you the red rock, geological layers as they tease you for your day adventure into Capital Reef. They serve breakfast! It's wonderful! Meals for vegetarians too, but beware of the mounted and stuffed game on the walls, it will be weird for you vegetarians. For the rest of us, it was educational to show where our food comes from. Walking the grounds is beautiful- an apple orchard is in the back, the next field is nicely trimmed grass with a jacuzzi on the deck enjoying the valley view, the red walls and stars at night. This place is restoring to know it exists, and we can go back after the day to day city/work/commute/kids&tantrums. The staff are very helpful, they get things for you, like running for ice. It is a weird feeling to always be asked "what can I get for you?" My kids, 5 and 6, loved playing with their two tame outdoor kitty's. The Buffalo/bison fields are right in front of the lodge, sooner or later you will have great photo opportunities with them. In the winter a wood burning fireplace is in each room.... summertime they have a/c. Truly on my top 3 places I've stayed!

Yelp
The Lodge at Red River Ranch is set back from route 24 & up against a red rock mammoth mountain backdrop. The lodge was originally used as a cattle ranch. The owner replaced the original ranch and rebuilt a modern replica finishing with original materials. It was done with an act of love for details. A great example of southern Utah living at its finest. Utah's route 24 has to be one of the most beautiful road running along the southern border with Capitol Reef Park. Although this region is filled with tours, it's still not nearly as crowded as others like Zion. Today, at the park, I wandered down a giant canyon/ Cassidy Arch, that must handle 15 stories of rushing melted snow in the spring. My room on the top floor had a log ceiling, fireplace, a beautiful bedroom and accessories. It is more than comfortable. I recommend it as a treat to yourself.

Yelp
We had an amazing stay at this Ranch! It's a real gem in Utah, the unique real Ranch we've been to actually, because it's really authentic! The beautiful house is surrounded by bisons, and a great trail along a small river. It's owned by an adorable family, they've always tried their best to accommodate us, and they have been so helpful during our stay. The rooms were beautifully arranged, and very cleaned. The breakfast was delicious (homemade granola and pancakes, eggs from the farm...). We loved so much this place that we've shortened our stay in Zion to come back here a second time! We really recommend this place for a family stay or for a romantic escape.

Yelp
This place is simply amazing. My experience here was perfect. I called the hotel directly to book and Lorelei the front desk associate was super nice, helpful, and informative. She explained the different room set ups and offered her opinion on which room she liked the best. We took her advice and booked the Anasazi room. This room is on the ground floor with a patio with its own entrance. It has a super comfortable King bed with a view of the red rocks. We took advantage of the outside patio, drinking our morning coffee and eating dinner out there. We used the hot tub both nights which was super relaxing. The hot tub is off the the side of the lodge away from windows and other guests. It has a great view of the red rocks and was a super cool spot to watch the sunset. We went on an evening walk along the Fremont river which is right on the grounds of the lodge. The lodge had tea and coffee available 24 hours. My lady and I got some tea, ate some pie and played a game of chess in the lobby/living room area. This was such a cool experience it felt as if we owned/lived in this huge secluded 1886 stagecoach stopover. It was truly one of my favorite places I've been. The service from Lorelei was impeccable. The cleanliness of the room was perfect. The Wi-Fi worked super well. The value was great. I really appreciate good service as I am a manager at a hotel and this place went above and beyond our expectations. I am going to come back for years and refer this place to everyone who will listen. Thank you for the memories!

Yelp
We stayed at this lodge during a cross-country roadtrip. The location is perfect yet difficult-to-spot; it's only a 5 or 10-minute drive to Capitol Reef National Park, however, we missed the hotel several times while trying to find it. Make sure you arrive in daytime or really have your eyes peeled. It's extremely easy to mistake for a home along US24. The decor inside was unreal. I felt like I was thrown into some Native American lodge-mansion ... there is no way to describe it, but all the photos online are accurate -- possibly the most accurate hotel shots I've ever seen. The quirky decor is consistent from the lobby to the rooms. Ours had a funky old fireplace, giant rotary dial phone, and fun wallpaper. Staff are just as quirky, but... I'll try not to judge. We're really friendly people and crack jokes (life is short, laugh!) and they really didn't get it, haha. We grabbed breakfast at the hotel restaurant before setting off the next day. One thing that still stands out to me almost three years later was the abundance of hummingbirds! I've never seen one in person, and it was actually my dad who noticed the first one. Watching them buzz around while munching on pancakes and coffee was a really cool experience.

Yelp
Themed rooms in a log cabin lodge experience. As squeaky as the floors were noise during the evening hours was never a problem and the real reason for bumping up to four stars is the friendliness of the service. It may not be as slick and modern to be the top of the list for comfort but it does make up for this in character. There may be other things to do while here but we did take advantage of the fly fishing and horseback riding - both of which worked out well for the people that went on those detours. (Though I must say for the fly fishing experience the two minutes of instruction I had in Vail was better than the orientation I had here) We had free WiFi but why the password? No one is close enough to be around to steal the signal!

Yelp
We had a lovely stay. The whole lodge was warm and welcoming and beautiful. Friendly staff. The Safari Room was very big with a king and queen bed, French doors to a small balcony, couch, chairs, writing desk, fireplace, and high ceilings. We had a big closet and easily fit their nice pack-n-play as well. Great smelling shampoo/conditioner/lotion too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Yelp
What a fabulous place to stay! The lodge is so quaint and rustic and charming. The setting couldn't be more beautiful. Our room was absolutely perfect. We had everything we needed and everyone working was really helpful and kind. We loved watching the buffalo and playing with the cats too!! Great place to stay.

Yelp
We were visiting Capital Reef and had pre-booked the Lodge at Red River Ranch based on guide books. It was far more welcoming and interesting than expected. We had stayed in Zion Lodge and also Bryce Lodge, although the Bryce central lodge was closed for the season, and were a little let down and still seeking more of a lodge experience as opposed to a hotel room. We certainly found a great experience here! There is a great room with a roaring fire. Our bedroom had a fireplace and we loved the detail in each space. We spent one night exploring the inside of the lodge, and loved it. Would certainly recommend Lodge at Red River Ranch, not only for the lodge experience but also for it's beautiful setting.

Yelp
We were victimized by their bait and switch; ie we were quoted a rate approximately 60% below what they ultimately billed us for upon check out, and the building construction is incredibly shoddy. One could hear neighboring room air compressors cycling all night, people coughing and opening/closing doors. This is a place constructed in the 1970s in a 'genre' of an old lodge so the lack of sound proofing is inexcusable. The unethical pricing surprise which the clerk said was based on us having 4 people in the adjoining family suite with....4 beds.... was entirely mysterious and unpleasantly sprung upon us. I'd recommend staying in a less precious but more reasonable place with equally shoddy construction elsewhere in Teasdale. Unethical, amateurish and, while a superficially attractive great lodge room in ground level, a major disappointment.

Yelp
This is a very nice lodge right outside of Capitol Reef National Park in Utah. I loved the common room, the grounds and the general atmosphere. The room was beautiful and decorated like a country / cowboy joint in a very tasteful way. Buffalo outside and the cat with no tail that greets everyone was a nice touch. I would go back given the chance but was a bit disappointed by the following - Staff was not easy to catch and somewhat crabby at times (family owned) - Restaurant was good but with very limited choices... a little on the pricey side too
