The Lodge Hotel Putney

From booking to departure - all went very smoothly and all the staff we interacted with were helpful, friendly and efficient. Room 65 accessible room was quiet & a very good size and the 2 single beds made up as a double bed were roomy with comfortable mattress and crisp bed linen. The supplied towelling robes were of very good quality and everything worked as it should in the bathroom with a nice shower. The location is handy for Putney shops and both underground and overground train service are 15 mins walk away. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a good variety of choices and well replenished. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here.....

My stay was truly enjoyable thanks to the exceptionally kind and helpful staff across reception, breakfast, and housekeeping. The hotel’s proximity to the metro made getting around very easy, and the room offered great comfort throughout the stay. The breakfast selection was impressively varied and suited all tastes — we really loved it. With slight improvements to room service and a bit more city information provided at reception, such as maps or local tips, the experience could be even better.

We had a very good stay at The Lodge, our room was comfortable, clean, warm and well appointed. We didn't eat at the hotel as we were visiting family nearby, however the people who greeted us at check in, check out and at the bar were most friendly and helpful. The building is characterful and the location great. I would definitely stay at The Lodge again and would cheerfully recommend it to others. Thank you.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The breakfast was amazing, with plenty of both sweet and savory options.. honestly, they had everything. The staff were super friendly, explained all the important things, and were always happy to help. The location is perfect: close to everything but just outside the busiest area, so it’s quiet. There’s a supermarket open until late right around the corner, and lots of restaurants, pubs, and even gyms for those who want to work out. Our room was large, spotless, and very comfortable. Overall, an excellent experience, I’d highly recommend it!

The hotel is excellent. Very clean and quit. The staff are amazing. They are always ready at the front desk for you to assist with a smile. There is a small gym which we used and it is perfect for a quick exercise. The location is quit good. Not in the center but 5 minutes walking from the underground station so it is great. The rooms are very clean and big enough. Breakfast is great. ||We had great time and surly recommend it.

We had an amazing stay for my birthday at the Lodge Hotel. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the buffet-type breakfast offered many options. They even surprised me for my birthday by decorating the room and a bottle of Prosecco. We felt very welcomed and at peace there.

We stayed at this hotel for five nights. This was our second stay here. The hotel is nice and quiet. We didn't hear any noise from outside or other rooms in our room. The breakfast was excellent and the hotel staff were really friendly.

A member of staff put our suitcases in our room - a nice touch. |-First night - Room 19, ‘classic twin room’ - two single beds (1st floor) - located in the new extension. Small room. Keycard entry. Suitcase stand. Open cupboard with hanging space, shelves, hairdryer, iron & ironing board, bathrobes. Electronic safe (free), tea/hot chocolate/bottled water & kettle, fridge (contents chargeable, 2x free bottled water), Nespresso coffee capsule machine. Wall-mounted Philips TV. Chair. Beds with bedside tables. Telephone. Mirror. Air-con. Views of a brick wall opposite. Spacious en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, toilet, basin, heated towel rail. |-Second night - we paid an additional £30 upgrade charge: Room 209 - ‘superior room’. Room has same facilities as Room 19 but bedroom and bathroom areas are twice the size, there are two double beds and the TV works! View of rear garden, hotel car park and surrounding housing.|-Room service until 10pm. |-Breakfast (new, larger extended section): Monday-Friday 6:30-10am, Saturday-Sunday 7:30-10:30am. Continental and full-English buffet available - excellent food choices. |-Restaurant Hide & seed open all day with last orders at 10pm. Bar open from breakfast to 11pm. |-Fitness Centre with cardio and weights equipment, open 6:30am-9:30pm. |-Boardroom. |-Car parking at front and rear. ||Cons:|-No lift. |-First night - Room 19 - room sizes much smaller in the new extension section. Even the door is only shoulder-width! |-First night - Room 19 - bathroom - tiny toilet (children’s size) and tiny shower cubicle. I felt like a giant and I’m less than 6ft tall! Not fit for use for adults. |-First night -Room 19 - faulty Philips Android TV needs replacing - screen colours washed out, volume fixed and very laggy taking several seconds to react to a key press on remote. A frustrating experience. |-First night - Room 19 - bath robes and extra lamp take up too much space. |-Checkout 11am.||Notes:|-It’s 5 minute walk to East Putney Tube station, 10 minutes walk to Putney High Street and 20 minutes walk to Putney Bridge/River Thames. |-In Putney I went to a panto at Putney Arts Theatre and a candlelit carol service at St Mary’s Church. |-I went to the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland (ferris wheel, ice sculptures, circus, Bavarian beer tent). I used the Tube from East Putney to travel into the city. I used my debit card to tap in/out.|-I used an Uber Boat from Putney Pier to Battersea Power Station and Battersea Power Station to Tower Pier.

Great location - super friendly staff. My room was small and cozy but $$ were reasonable. Breakfast was excellent! Highly recommend this hotel with easy walk to tube.

I stayed here with my partner, and we both really loved this hotel! It is close enough to be convenient for the US embassy, but also only a short trip to the centre of London. It is also very well placed to explore the area and restaurants of Putney. It is a well-priced London hotel with free parking, and accessible while avoiding the ultra-low emission zone. The staff are really helpful when needed, and we were lucky enough to have our room upgraded when we arrived. The room we were in was really nice, the bed was really comfortable and huge, and the coffee machine in the room was a great bonus. The fitness centre in the hotel also has everything you need for a trip away. Would recommend this hotel to a friend in a heartbeat.

I had the chance to stay at The Lodge Hotel twice this year and my experience there was very pleasant both times. The hotel is located 7-8min east of East Putney station by foot. Two houses are connected together at the lobby in the middle and rooms are converted into contemporary guest rooms. The rooms still have homey and cozy feel to it since they kept the original building structure, many levels of floors and hallways leading in pretty much every direction. It's sort of like a maze and whimsical, I got lost a few times, trying to get to the lobby :) We stayed in a double room on the top floor the first time. It was a small room but it came with a small den. Bathroom floor was heated, which I very much appreciated after a cold, snowy day. The second time we were here, we stayed in room 59, also a double room but a bigger room with spacious bathroom. We had a cat and it was nice to have extra room in the bathroom for his litter tray and food. We were so lucky to find such nice looking hotel that allowed pets :) The staff was nice enough to accommodate room cleaning schedule for us as we had to put our cat in a carrier every time they came to clean. (They had to keep the door open while cleaning and we had to prevent our cat from escaping) The breakfast buffet was superb. They have fruits (plums, apples, pineapples, oranges, kiwis and grapes), pasties and bread, hot dishes (eggs, beacons, blood pudding, grilled mushrooms and grilled tomatoes), yogurt, cereal, 3 kinds of juices and coffee/tea. The tables are facing a nice little garden and it's such a great place to start your day. The only thing is that they always seem to play the same instrument soundtrack of musical numbers. They might want to play something else every once in a while. Thank you Lodge for taking care of us during our stay!

Very cosy place in a suburb to London, Putney. Easy commute into all parts of central London. Perfect for couples spending a few days off in London. Putney is a nice local centre with all commodities you need. Affordable, clean and quiet hotel.
