We spent a weekend in the cottage and loved our stay. The hosts are lovely and eager to make sure the stay was great without being over bearing. It's a chill, cosy spot close to great food and the traditional sites that Hobart has to offer.

Very very very disappointed☹️ Was expecting to be greeted as per the other older reviews. However, the only greeting was anonymity i.e. the front door lock. It is run like an Airbnb with a faceless service. The new owner has left the old reviews which are glowing when the husband and wife team ran it. He has also left a book on the mantelpiece in which every glowing report of people stays are written. It should be removed because it has nothing to do with how it is being run today. He has owned it since April and is MISREPRESENTING HIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way, this is the first review I have ever left as I feel so strongly about it. I feel duped😡 It once was a glorious place with a beautiful back garden. However, this is run down to the max and is overgrown and unkempt. There is no off-road parking and it is horrendous to get a park around here. There is no breakfast. There is nothing but Old tired furniture💩

Had a quick one night stay in Hobart and the Lodge on Elizabeth fitted the bill perfectly. Great location, comfortable bed and both the room and house full of character. Very prompt communication with host and no problem with an early check in Would happily stay again.

I had a great time staying at the lodge on Elizabeth. I stayed after some hiking because it had a jet bath and it was well worth it. The building is beautiful and heritage, and has collected a friendly group of short and long stay guests who often gather in the communal spaces. Will absolutely stay here again when visiting Hobart.

We had a lovely stay at the lodge , grandeur and homely at the same time. There is a relaxed feel and the hosts were very accomadating. Rooms are well equiped and comfortable and the lodge being a short walk to cbd...would return to this part of history for a warm and comfortable stay.

Yelp
Most impressed by this lovely place in central Hobart, Tasmania. I was taken away by the hosts and their helpfulness and the accommodation is just beautiful in a old world setting. Antiques everywhere... or reproductions for the keen eye. The bedrooms have all the mod cons but still with beautiful period decor. Breakfast is very filling. There is fresh fruit salad, ham, cheese, warm boiled eggs. Cereals, croissants/jam, different breads for toast and tea / coffee.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here at the end of our bike trip around Tassie. The owner, Jeff, let us keep our bike boxes here when we left on our trip since we were staying here on the back end. Very accommodating. Nice and comortable with great rooms. Laundry in house. Good selection for a continental style breakfast. Comfortable tea room with port in the evenings. Good location for the restaurants on Elizabeth but also for a quick walk through downtown and down to the waterfront and Salamanca market area. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We stayed here for a couple nights while exploring Hobart, Port Arthur and Mount Wellington. It was a very comfortable room and they have a beautiful tea (or is it a Port?) room. It was nice to hang out and meet other travelers from all over the world. The owners are down to earth and helpful, though the guy is a bit rough around the edge - when I asked him what restaurant he recommends, he was almost defensive and said that he prefer pubs- it made for an awkward moment!
