I had a great stay here! Jake provided me with lots of helpful information, and when I had to change my booking he was very understanding and professional about it. It's a short walk from all the places I needed to be in Hobart and the room was very comfy. Would definitely stay again!

Very clean and comfortable rooms in a heritage listed converted mansion. Fantastic location, close to lots of good restaurants and bars, New Town or in the CBD. Also a great spot for walking around Hobart’s glorious hilly suburbs and checking out the real estate.

Quiet, friendly, comfortable and in town. Perfect for the budget conscious traveler who likes to stay in a charming, authentic and stately old hotel. It’s also a perfect choice for festival visitors who want to be within walking distance of CBD venues. I will be back.

I can't sing it's praises enough. I stayed at the lodge on Elizabeth over dark mofo 2025, and had the most wonderful time. The room was perfectly equipped for the cold, and the furniture and interiors were so lovely and charming. Everything was pristinely clean and cosy.
It was the perfect convenient location for a short walk into town, near lots of great little bars and restaurants too.
Jake who runs the lodge was an amazingly hospitable host. I've never felt so cared for and welcome on a holiday. If you want all the warm welcoming feelings of staying with family, but with all the comforts of lovely proper accommodation then I can't recommend the lodge on Elizabeth more.

My husband and I had a wonderful 4 nights at the historic Lodge on Elizabeth during Dark Mofo. The room was cosy, with a very welcome electric blanket, we loved exploring the garden and soaking up some warm sun on the front verandah.
The Lodge is close to the down town action - an easy walk to shows, restaurants and galleries. But wasn't noisy - the perfect sweet spot! I highly recommend a stay for a real sense of history in this beautiful city.

Jeff was an amazing host, the room was beautiful and I loved that it was so quiet and peaceful. The entire hotel was so friendly and inviting. Can't thank our wonderful host enough.
He also directed us to places we could go, and alot of places we could just walk to. There is street parking, but it was easy to get a spot, and we were there on new years eve.
All in all, highly recommend if you just want a quiet place to stay and enjoy the sights and area.

This accommodation did not measure up to the descriptions as we were led to believe. although situated in a very old historic home you stay in one bedroom with bathroom attached. there are approximately 20 stairs to the front of the building and eight at the rear of the building which are extremely difficult to access. The 4 brass bed was uncomfortable and the room was squashy. The old furniture was not accommodating and kitchen utensils were limited. I think it was expected that we would purchase the breakfast component.

We were very happy to spend three nights here at this well located accommodation in Hobart. Our host met us as we parked and gave us a certificate that enabled us to park in the adjacent side street. |Our room was pretty with its four poster bed, in this old stone home. We loved the lounge with tea/coffee and complimentary muscat. This was a lovely place for a night cap. |Wifi was slow so we used our phones. Everything else was lovely.

Yelp
Most impressed by this lovely place in central Hobart, Tasmania.
I was taken away by the hosts and their helpfulness and the accommodation is just beautiful in a old world setting. Antiques everywhere... or reproductions for the keen eye.
The bedrooms have all the mod cons but still with beautiful period decor.
Breakfast is very filling. There is fresh fruit salad, ham, cheese, warm boiled eggs. Cereals, croissants/jam, different breads for toast and tea / coffee.

My wife and I stayed here at the end of our bike trip around Tassie. The owner, Jeff, let us keep our bike boxes here when we left on our trip since we were staying here on the back end. Very accommodating. Nice and comortable with great rooms. Laundry in house. Good selection for a continental style breakfast. Comfortable tea room with port in the evenings. Good location for the restaurants on Elizabeth but also for a quick walk through downtown and down to the waterfront and Salamanca market area. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We stayed here for a couple nights while exploring Hobart, Port Arthur and Mount Wellington. It was a very comfortable room and they have a beautiful tea (or is it a Port?) room. It was nice to hang out and meet other travelers from all over the world. The owners are down to earth and helpful, though the guy is a bit rough around the edge - when I asked him what restaurant he recommends, he was almost defensive and said that he prefer pubs- it made for an awkward moment!
