"New Zealand was similarly beautiful. We stayed at lodges—one on the south island, one on the north island—and it was just as stunning as you could imagine, nestled in the heart of the New Zealand landscape."

This was a last-minute relocation by our Air bnb host. Upon check-in, i was asked to provide credit card details in case of any damages incurred. I didn't even make a direct booking (the Air bnb host did), so why should it be on my card?! Nevertheless, it has been a long day of travel, and a family of 7 of us just wanted to freshen up and rest. Although the airbnb host assured me this was procedure and they won't find fault in minor grievances, i wasn't convinced and am still puzzled by the request. While the lakefront views were stunning at sunset, the interiors are rather rundown with fixtures that require...fixing. Most blinds were not in good shape, and although it feels home-y, the setting is quite the 80s vibe. Crevices were moldy or long-standing dusts, so try not to use anything in the cabinets. Stairs are rather steep, so it is not recommended for those traveling with elderly/wheelchair. A short walk to the city.

We stayed for 4 nights in apartment 307 in mid March. We loved it and would stay again. It was very clean plus was serviced daily with lots of clean towels left. The beds were extremely comfortable, the kitchen and bathrooms modern with nice carpets and furnishings. Great private deck with lovely views and very close to town. The apartment was on 3 levels with bedrooms top and bottom and lounge and kitchen in the middle so for people who are a bit unsteady on their feet they may find the stairs difficult. Plus it was slightly up the hill away from the busy road so there were quite a few outside steps up to this unit. But there are also about 4 apartments at the road level which could be requested to avoid the outside stairs. We highly recommend The Lodges.

Apartments are very big and fully equipped. A bit old fashioned and could be cleaner (light switches were never cleaned before I guess). Location is with lake view, therefore very good. We payed for three nights and were told to change the room on the third day to a cheaper room - on this third day we were told we didn't have to change due to a booking cancelation. So we were lucky and could stay in the apartment. What they didn't tell us was that we have to pay the full rate for the apartment on the third night.

We came around with 5 people. The apartment is close to the lake, has a balcony with a view of the lake, has a staircase all the way down to the lake and the facilities are very good, there's also a surplus of pillows and towels in the cabinet so you don't have to call to ask for one if you need it. It's also 5 minutes walk from the town. Recommended.

I am not usually one to write a bad review but I can’t pass on this one. ||Positives - location to walk to town and a hot shower. That’s it. Arrived at the hotel to see a closed sign telling us to walk up the road to the next hotel to book in. ||The person behind the counter was very arrogant and rude, he had someone on the phone on speaker while he scanned our ID and charged us $150 bond for one night. He made it clear that if one tiny thing was out of order he would keep the bond money, even if the neighbours said there was any noise from our room. ||We got pointed to the room, had nowhere to park and had to walk up three flights of steep concrete stairs to get to our three bedroom apartment. Once inside we wanted a coffee, low and behold, no milk. The apartment was run down, dirty and not serviced well. ||We opened the two drawers where the cutlery would usually be kept and it was full of building supplies. The sink in the bathroom downstairs did not plug. And when you opened the bathroom window there was a used condom and wrapper right in front of you. ||When told about this the hotel said “okay we will remove it” ||The outside “balcony” was so dirty, all the chairs were covered in weeks worth of dust/leaves.||I am guttered that this hotel has been let go like this. ||A change of attitude, staff and a renovation should do the trick .

Stayed 4 nights in the July 2020 school holidays. 2A and 3C. Great location, great apartment. Warm and spacious. |The heated toilet with 4,264 settings and buttons was a highlight. |Laundry facilities were unexpected but welcomed. |Just watch the kids when it comes to the spa bath. There is not unlimited hot water as I found out standing under a ice cold shower.

When visiting the area we stayed in Queenstown for 4 nights at The Lodges.|We were "upgraded" to a 3 bedroom apartment when we only booked a 2 bedroom but this was more for their convenience rather than ours I think.|For our apartment the only access was via a steep staircase. It didn't worry us but could be troublesome for some.||The positives are:|-5 minutes walk to the centre.|-Apartment has everything you need.|-It was very warm with good electric heating.|-Good price but this could be due to encouraging post-Covid tourism.|-Great view (as seen in the photo from the bedroom window).|-Parking right outside the apartment door.||The negatives are:|-A bit run down, everything works but it feels like there's has been a lack of maintenance. Such as; loose spout on the bath, mismatched light switches, worn threadbare carpet in places, damaged wall where the toilet roll holder should be in one bathroom.|-The staff on check-in could have been more helpful. I felt as though I was intruding or interrupting their conversation.|-Beds are incredibly soft and both my wife and I ended up with sore backs, (but this is personal and individual to each person).|-Very low door handles and steep staircases so had to be aware of the kids at all times.||The only reason we would not stay again is due to the beds. We prefer a firm bed and struggled with poor sleep due to the lack of comfort.

I booked in advance in April 2021 for 14nights in July 2022. The hotel sent me a message In June 2022 stating they have double booked us on the system in a 3 bedroom and we could no longer stay there…. International plans have been made and this is so far from acceptable! Booking.com tried to find accomodation for us which is 2 hotel rooms compared to a 3 bedroom executive suite with a full kitchen etc. this was far from satisfactory for a family with young children.|| NEVER BOOK!||They just want to cash in on higher rates than what we booked rather than being loyal to the customer who booked in advanced. I have no words!||Why did I bother organising my kids their passports when we have nowhere to stay? what a waste of planning and money when no accomodation anywhere is available 1month out! How can this company sleep at night treating families like this!
