EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BELOW!! I spent fall-spring 2019 here, but am still so mad I will keep the review at the top of the list.
After touring the place I thought it was too good to be true that such beautiful apartments could come at such a low price. And it was too good to be true. The model room features matching furniture in all of its rooms, an accent wall in the bedroom, lighting in the common areas, clean appliances, beautiful white bathrooms and granite countertops. DO NOT EXPECT ANY OF THAT. They also claim to be a gated community, yeah they have a fence and a gate but that does nothing when it’s NEVER CLOSED. I have attached pictures of when I moved in, I just wish I had pictures of the bath/shower to show every prospective resident. Full disclosure, the pictures are after me and my roommates deep cleaned. It was horrifying before.
Upon move in into my actual bedroom, (you don’t get to pick which room you get assigned btw, you can’t trade with roommates either), the carpets were wet and wreaked of dog and mildew. So bad I had to buy towels to lay over a path so I could walk on it without stinking afterwards. This was the case in all 3 bedrooms, but I gave them the only star in this review because they did change all the carpets within 2 weeks of moving in, but only after arguing saying that steaming them again wouldn’t fix it.
Next, the bathroom. Nasty. When I moved in the bathroom was not clean, there was hair on the floor and in the shower drain as well as a RAZOR. Someone’s nasty used razor was in the shower drain! The entire bathroom developed an ant infestation In about a week after moving in, and that did not get taken care of for weeks, I ended up having to reseal the entire bathroom myself so I didn’t have ants crawling on all of my stuff. Mold everywhere in the existing sealant in the shower and on the baseboards.
The washer smelled again like mildew when we moved in, and the dryer didn’t have somewhere to vent I guess because lint was an uncontrollable problem even after cleaning the lint trap. It was UNDER the lint trap.
Last horrifying part about the apartment I was assigned to, were the ROACHES. I called and called to get the roach problem treated and they never did a thing for them. Disgusting. Also, do NOT walk in the grass. There is dog feces EVERYWHERE. No one picks up after their dogs and the complex does nothing to enforce it.
Do not let the front office fool you, that’s where they put all of their money into. Not the apartments, just the show front of the complex. The printers were constantly out of Paper, the coffee machine constantly out of chai and hot chocolate, the gym was nice and seemed clean enough at least. ALSO, do not expect making payments to help your credit at all, they charge you extra each month if you want them to report the good payments.
Something I want to point out, most five star reviews come in a stream. This is because they host promos where leaving a five star review is a requirement. Sad that there’s this many students here that are complete sell-outs lol.
Now, lastly, I decided it was time to pay out my lease and get the heck out, but that money I sent to pay it off wasn’t used to do that, it was added as a ‘credit’ to my account. They still charged me insurance, utilities, and rent for months after I paid off my lease. They told me specifically they were not going to do that, but low and behold they don’t care and did it anyways.
Second update: got an email saying I owed $170 in damages: $100 for a full room repaint, $25 for a smoke alarm that was “missing”, and $45 for a janitorial fee. When you move in you fill out a unit condition form, document EVERYTHING. Every little thing or they’ll try to fee you! Lucky for me I documented the scrapes on the wall and the missing smoke detector, and they removed the charges after I emailed them. They didn’t even look at the unit condition form before I fought, they just hope college students will pay it without argument. They finally took off the janitorial fee after another email
