A serious foodie experience was served up at The Long Dock in Carrigaholt. Everything from the oysters to the seafood chowder and the main courses of freshly battered fish and chips as well as the beef stew were absolutely superb. Such a lovely warm and inviting pub restaurant with exceptional staff made this dining experience one to remember. Highly recommend a stop off here if you are visiting the area. They also have the best pint of the black stuff !

Everything we wanted from a small town visit. Great, I mean outstanding service, humble and perfect. The seafood chowder was absolutely scrumptious. We shared a bowl and then ordered another. It was that kind of good. Fish and chips and the surf and turf were also perfectly on point. Cheers to the staff and owners, you have a gem. 10 stars!

We were a party of 5 including 1 teenager. The food was delicious, the star of the show being the prawn, chorizo and garlic potatoes. The servers were charming and attentive. A very good night was had by all.

Visit lasted 1 minute. I had our 11 month old in one arm, 7 year old son in the other. Turned away cause no reservation despite only one table in use. Not good given my son is diabetic and we had just bolused him. A unique experience. Well done

I spotted this place on a drive years ago when I lived in Kerry, but it was winter and they were closed. Fast forward to today, home from Australia and all I can say is, Long Dock you were worth the wait! Sheena was an absolute delight, and a must have employee! The food was amazing. I am home (in Kerry) for three weeks and I'm trying to work out how many more visits I can pack in before I leave. Carrigaholt, you have a gem right here!

Great food and a really nice setting. Was really busy so ring ahead and book. Food took a bit of time to come but good food takes time and this food was brilliant. Got the mussels to start, the fish pie and the salted caramel ice cream sandwich for desert. Difficult to say what was the best thing. Worth going out of your way for. The pub itself was lovely too with an open fire and great pints.

Was staying in Carrigaholt, my wife and I went here planning to bring kids and friends in the evening for dinner, decided to get a drink here went to bar and staff ignored me! Served people ahead of me and just left me standing there after one or two attempts to get staffs attention I realised best course of action for me was to not spend money here. Food does look great and has a varied range but politeness and civility are also important.

Yelp
County Clare has its fair share of excellent seafood restaurants. This is a longstanding destination restaurant in a beautiful coastal village tha never disappoints! Great atmosphere and hospitality. Go!

Yelp
This place is a real Find! The most sincere staff in a building from the 1800's. My Kids had the cod and Clam Chowder and loved them. I had Oysters abs Sirloin with the best boiled spuds. All great! The secret weapon is the ice cream Parlour out back. Just send the kids out to explore..... Kids ranked it 10/10 but they both had the salted Caramel. Original fireplace that in the winter would be a great spot for a pint and some oysters.

Yelp
Great pub, great food and really friendly owners. We each had the chowder which was super loaded with fresh fish. We split the seafood platter. It's served cold with shrimp, prawns and smoked salmon. Sides of fresh salad, capers and onions and a tasty sauce for the shrimp and crab. Delicious food.

Yelp
When my friend and I pedaled our bicycles into Carrigaholt we were hungry and tired after a long day of cycling. This little oasis provided the perfect respite. Attentive and friendly service, fresh food simply and wonderfully prepared, and at a price far below value. Outstanding in every respect.

Yelp
My mother and I had lunch at the Long Dock in August of 2018. I had the chowder and she had the burger and fries. The service was fast and courteous, the atmosphere was warm and friendly, and the food was unbelievable. While Mom, was raving about the burger I sat in stunned silence over how good the chowder was. I live on an island on the west coast of Canada and eat seafood very frequently. I was so happy with the generous quantities of fish and shellfish in the chowder. I would go out of my way from Kilkee or even Kilrush to eat at the Long Dock again.

Yelp
Had lunch here yesterday mid way through our cycle of the Loop Head Peninsula. Had the most amazing hake I had ever tasted, so fresh. Lovely menu with everything from standard fish & chips to crab and mussels. Also had had chicken & steak on the menu for anyone that does not like seafood. But seeing as the fish is literally caught on the doorstep it would be a shame not to sample it! Found the prices to be reasonable. Had lunch here as a group of 5, we each had a main course and coffee. The bill with a bottle of prosecco came to €123, which is not bad considering the standard of the food. Highly recommend a visit if you are in West Clare.

Yelp
Awesome mussels and the cod was great too. We you randomly stop by this pub after visiting this small town. We saw people outside eating the mussels and seafood and it looked fantastic. The crab were great too. It took a wild to get our food but it was worth it. Inside you will see that they won many awards.

Yelp
Highly recommended seafood restaurant in the little fishing town of Carrigaholt. It has earned some healthy praise from some pretty big names in the travel/lodging industry. We thought it was a cozy little pub with decent food but no better or worse than a thousand other little coastal pubs in Ireland. We were there in October (not tourist season) and sort of felt neglected by the two "servers" who spent most of their time talking to locals. We still enjoyed it because it was cozy and we just enjoyed each other and the food. Food was 4 star. Atmosphere was 4 star. Service attention was 2 stars. Selection was 3 stars. Price was about 3 stars. Biggest plus was it is the only restaurant open in the off-season between Kilkee and the point so it saves you a 20 minute drive if you are staying in Carrigaholt... and I do recommend staying in/near Carrigaholt. Three stars from me ain't bad at all.
