Painkillers were great but Korena was everything. She made our first stop in St John absolutely unbeatable and we are so thankful. Tried the trio and avocado tempura tacos, so good!

Google
Fantastic restaurant right in Cruz Bay. We actually visited more than one time during our vacation because of how good the food and drinks are. We sat at the bar both times and had great service by Korena and Noah. The tuna tostadas and the poke were both delicious and the frozen painkiller was my favorite drink of the trip.

No one else was seated when we arrived, fuller by the time we left. We had the small guacamole 🥑 starter and the chicken tacos . Both delicious and the beverages were cold &tasty. The rosemary was scorched, perfect. Recommend for sure.

The Longboard in Cruz Bay, St. John, is a true culinary gem that perfectly blends vibrant Caribbean flavors with a modern, creative twist. From the moment you arrive, the welcoming and laid-back island vibe sets the stage for an exceptional dining experience. The menu is a testament to fresh, high-quality ingredients, with standout dishes like the tuna poke bowl, which balances fresh tuna, creamy avocado, and flavorful sauces perfectly, and the crispy coconut shrimp tacos, where the crunch of the shrimp pairs beautifully with tangy mango salsa. For lighter fare, their inventive ceviches and salads are equally impressive. The handcrafted cocktails are a perfect complement to the food, with favorites like the Painkiller and Frozen Paloma capturing the island’s spirit in every sip. The attentive and friendly staff add to the experience, offering great recommendations and ensuring every detail of your meal is perfect. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual lunch or a relaxed dinner, The Longboard is a must-visit spot on St. John, offering delicious food, refreshing drinks, and an unforgettable atmosphere.

Google
Definitely make these dinner plans! Super easy to get to right downtown in Cruz Bay! Prices are steep but fair for the quality. Food and drinks are beautiful and delicious! All outdoor dining so don’t forget the bug spray!

Google
We want to thank Anna and Noah for the INCREDIBLE service! This was the best meal we had in St. John. Noah was so friendly and seated us with a painkiller shot to celebrate our recent engagement. Anna, our bartender, makes the best drinks and made our night feel so special. Thank you!!

Google
Great cocktails, great food, fantastic service. This is the perfect place to visit if you are looking for a craft cocktail. Restaurant is entirely outdoors with great atmosphere. We sat bar top and really enjoyed chatting with the bartender since it was a late night in the off season. There is also seating that overlooks the street. Portions are a bit smaller here but that’s okay, just saves more room for cocktails. We ordered the fresh catch sliders and pork sliders which did not disappoint! Very well seasoned and buttery toasted buns. For drinks… you can’t pick a bad cocktail here, they are all well crafted. I personally love gin drinks and ordered the Swell Chaser which comes with a little show as the bartender sets a flame inside your glass to char the fresh rosemary then douses it with the cocktail.

Google
We have been coming to the Longboard since 2018 and Korena has been there the entire time. She is the most attentive and helpful employee you folks have. (My guess is also the longest tenured employee). Food is always good. Barstools are uncomfortable however, we would stay longer if you bring back the old or different barstools. The poke bowls are our go to along with the entire cocktail menu. Can’t go wrong if Korena is helping you out! See you next trip.

Yelp
Korena was awesome. Completely engaged with her work and also super friendly and informative with the customer. Amazing to watch her work...so quickly and efficiently. Fabulous customer service!! Really great food!!

Nina R.

Yelp
The food and service was excellent. Korene was extremely friendly and helpful. I would suggest this restaurant.

Yelp
Perfect place to bounce into for a quick bite and a drink or have a full dinner. Korena was amazing - great cocktails and food recommendations!

Yelp
We came for the happy hour. We stayed because the cocktails were so unique and pure entertainment for the taste buds. We came back because we loved our Bartender, Korena. My BF says "Top tier value and quality." Loved it!

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place based on all the great reviews. And a couple we met while waiting for our table raved about it and said "everything in the menu is great." We were both pretty underwhelmed. We had the trio and Brussels sprouts to start. Both were ok. The queso in the trio was the best. Salsa had no flavor and seemed watery. The brussel sprouts were not all crispy. Some were some were not. For dinner, I had the fresh catch of the day sliders. They were very bland. My friend ordered ceviche and couldn't even eat it. She didn't care for it. Service was good. Ambiance was nice. We sat at the bar. Pretty small place.

Yelp
Excellence and Comfort (Yes, at the same place!) Quick summary - The Longboard is ideal for (craft) cocktails, dinner and/or lunch. The food and craft beverages rival some of the food and beverages we've had in upscale restaurants in New Orleans. The service is excellent and personable - worthy of multiple visits. Details - When on vacation at a new destination we typically do not repeat restaurants, no matter how good the experience. Among the reasons is because when on vacation trying to duplicate a good experience is like chasing a unicorn. THE LONGBOARD IS A UNICORN. On our first visit (well after dinner time), we had cocktails only. The GM, Kristin, greeted us with a smile and a comfortable demeanor. She seated us at the bar. Kristin didn't just check on us several times that evening, but also had engaging conversation with us. In our bones, we felt welcome. A quick viewing of the menu let us know the cocktails would go far beyond typical island fare. Our bartender, Ana, did not disappoint. In fact, we now refer to her as Mixology Queen. My husband asked for her for recommendations. She asked him thoughtful questions about his likes, dislikes and the vibe he was looking for. She asked if he trusted her to make him something custom. He did. She is worthy of that trust. Based on the delicious custom drinkS she made him, he never ordered from the drink menu that night or on our subsequent TWO visits. Two nights after our first visit, we went back to The Longboard for dinner. GM Christian remembered us and greeted us by name (remember the Cheers theme song?). Mixology Queen Ana remembered our preferences from our previous visit and continued her mixology reign of our taste buds. Our server Noah was fun and engaging and we found out he is also a mixologist who loves what he does. We had the crispy brussels, shrimp tostones, and tempura pescado - all excellent. We had another stellar evening. Our third trip to The Longboard was on our final evening in St John. This time for late appetizers and cocktails. We had the kahlua pork egg rolls- another tasty dish. Kristin nor Ana were working that night. But we did see and chat with Ana. She came by to wish the bartender on duty (Joe) a happy birthday. As we noticed the love and camaraderie among the staff as they celebrated Joe, we realized that the camaraderie is what we love about The Longboard and St John. The Longboard and St John are genuinely fun, comfortable, and caring environments. They are/have what most of us strive toward everyday. Thank you Longboard for being exemplary - environment, food, and drinks!

Yelp
Isla verde and island wings plus the Heart and Sol were insanely good. Korena was our waitress and she was the best! Can't recommend this spot enough

Yelp
Nice place if you want to experience a good vibe. Food was okay and slightly overpriced for what you get. I had a sushi wrap and my other friends had poke bowls. Both dishes had too much rice.

Jaclyn S.

Yelp
We had wonderful appetizers and fantastic drinks during happy hour. Seriously the most unique and best cocktails of our trip. Korena, our server was very attentive and kept our glasses full. Will go back if here on vacation again.

Michelle M.

Yelp
Food was great. Korena, our bartender, was exceptional! Highly recommend this place

Yelp
Delicious! Fresh food and great cocktails! My family and I went here 3 times during our week stay. Korena was an excellent server and gave us great tips about the island! Totally chill atmosphere get the frozen painkiller!

Yelp
Our last night on the St. John Island, after a whole day of snorkeling, we decided to try The Longboard restaurant. Does not take reservations. We got to the restaurant around 8:15 pm and there was a long line waiting to get in. The wait for the bar area is shorter, so we decided to wait for the bar seat. This restaurant is small, just a few table around the bar area, so it would be difficult to have a party bigger than 4. It has a cool causal vibe with up scale food.. The bar tender Joe was really cool and nice. We ordered a Watermelon Ceviches, a Tropical Poke bowl and a Taco Barbacoa. They are all excellent. Food were fresh and well seasoned. They were all very refreshing. Since we got there late into the evening, all their pork dishes were out. The food were great and price were reasonable. Definitely will come back next time.

Yelp
Korena was amazing! This is a must visit place when visiting st. John. Would definitely get the painkiller with the rum float.

Yelp
Great relaxed vibe and friendly service. We loved the spicy brussel sprouts appetizers -- large portion (enough for 2-4, depending on appetite. We also enjoyed the mahi catch of the day service -- fresh, bright, and tangy from the lemon, cilantro, and Bermuda onions. Tip: Happy hour ends at 4 pm! If you make it to happy hour, it's about $2 off drinks.

Yelp
We had a nice dinner experience here! The salad was tasty and flavorful. We also enjoyed the great service and the pulled chicken sliders. Definitely would return here!
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
A lively and inviting vibe, been here many times, but it's hit or miss. Unfortunately, on a recent Sunday it was a miss. At 6:00, a huge portion of the menu was unavailable--food deliveries arrive on Monday mornings, the waitress explained. Guess we should have dined on Monday. While the brussel sprouts were spicy and tasty, the rest we ordered was a letdown. The guacamole tasted like the pre-made commercial stuff we get at Costco, and both the beef and chicken tacos were dry and flavorless. Note: a 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. At least the service was deserving.

Yelp
We had a party of 4 sat at the bar with Joe best bartender, was awesome going over the menu with us gave us great suggestions. The Shrimp fried rice was amazing we had the sushi wraps and the best part of the evening were the. What was the best and last were shots we frozen painkillers with a floater. Best restaurant service definitely will be back. If you haven't been yet you're missing out on great service and food!!

Jay B.

Yelp
Great food, great service. We were able to walk right into two seats at the bar. Megan and Korena did a great job taking care of us, keeping drinks fresh. I recommend the sushi wraps.

Yelp
On the night we finally got to St John, we rolled in to The Longboard about 15 minutes before the kitchen closed. After some on-point suggested food options and cocktails from Joe P, we left full and happy. We had some great suggestions from Joe about where to go and where to eat, and he didn't disappoint! Highly recommend Longboard, and ask for Joe P.

Yelp
Our favorite spot on St. John. Monica is awesome, very professional and knows the menu items very well. Makes great suggestions. Some of our favorites are the Brussels sprout appetizer, shrimp tostones, fried rice, poke bowls, and the steak quesadilla. Very clean, casual vibe, with great staff!

Yelp
Had such a great dinner at The Longboard! We showed up around 5:15 on Saturday evening. The restaurant was about 1/2 full but quickly filled up and by the time we left at 6:30 there was an 1+ hour wait list. We started with the curried lobster Rangoons (6 for $22) - something every table around us also ordered! Completely unexpected, but absolutely delicious! I could have easily had that as my main. For drinks, I ordered their special, the blood orange margarita. I shared the fresh catch sliders (4 for $36) with my husband. The sliders were very filling, with the brioche rolls and cabbage slaw. The ambiance truly felt like island chic. The entire interior was a crisp white. My only complaint is that they need more hooks for bags. I didn't mind, but it's good to keep in mind the restaurant automatically includes a 20% tip in the receipt. Would totally come back!

Pamela B.

Yelp
Had a great, relaxed dining experience. Food and drinks were on the mark. And our server, Korena, gave us great service. She was helpful explaining various menu items, proficient with her service, knowledgable about the island, and just a fun warm person to run into. Bravo Korena!

Yelp
I was looking for a lighter dinner, so decided to try the Long Board based on reviews. The restaurant itself isn't very big, but is nicely decorated with both bar and table seating. I sat at the bar for dinner and tried the following: - carribean hash - it was so good and all the flavors mesh really well together - I just wish there was a bit more. - pulled pork tacos - given the fish taco option was fried tuna, I decided to try the pulled pork tacos. They were good, but nothing special. All in all it was an ok dinner. Service was great, but my pet peeve is when restaurants include gratuity. Please note 20% is automatically included in your check here.

Cait S.

Yelp
Food was great, they have so many gluten free options! Anna was really helpful in navigating what was safe to eat. We had the spring rolls, a poke bowl and carnitas tacos and all were delicious!

Yelp
Fantastic food and good atmosphere- particularly loved the ceviche, tuna poke, and Paloma! Joe gave great recommendations not only for the food, but also for beaches and locations to go to around island!

Yelp
I was excited to visit this establishment in St. John, as it came highly recommended in a places.travel "A Day in Cruz Bay, St. John" guide. However, my experience was nothing short of disappointing. Upon arriving, there was no host at the entrance to greet us. We found two vacant bar seats and sat down. A minute or so later, someone behind the bar asked if we had talked to the host, to which I replied that there was no host present. Shortly after, a male employee informed us that the group next to us had reserved the seats for members of their party. When they checked with that group, they said they were fine with us sitting there. Despite this, the entire interaction left me disgusted with the establishment. I immediately asked my plus one where else she would like to eat on the island. I do not recommend this place. Spend your money at another restaurant that actually values its customers.

Tammy H.

Yelp
Excellent service from Korena! And food was phenomenal! Was a very pleasant surprise.

Yelp
The food was great, albeit pricey but you expect that on the island. The issue was with service, our server was rude, condescending, and rushed us. Right when he sat down, he loudly counted how many people were in our group ("one, two, three..") like we weren't allowed to sit at the table reserved for 5 or more (we were 7) and it just went downhill from there. Asked for a round of drinks, rude. Friend just started to eat their meal and tried to get him to order more or take to go. Never really checked on us. A negative tone overall like we were a burden to him. We were going to chalk it up to just personality but then as we were leaving, we saw him being helpful to another family who came in with a baby, offering him a high chair and help - we were offered nothing and it was a different personality they received. Just overall left a bad taste in our mouths when this is the place we looked forward to visiting most on our first visit to St. John.

Chris E.

Yelp
Good food, fantastic craft cocktails, and top notch service. Casual open air seating on a side street of Cruz Bay. Not the greatest view but a beautiful little restaurant.

Yelp
On our recent trip, we chose The Longboard for our last dinner (1/5/24) on the island. What a great choice! Initially, we were just going to start our evening there, with a couple drinks in the bar. But after chatting with the bartender and wait staff, we decided to make it a full evening. We started with their "pain-quila," a tequila-based version of the traditional painkiller; and their "heart & sol," a spicy, tequila-based drink with basil, lime, honey, and sea salt. Both were fresh, delicious, and wonderfully aromatic, the perfect way to start a meal on a warm St. John evening. The guacamole and chips paired well with these. For dinner, my wife had the street tacos with barbacoa, which is traditional to the Caribbean. The meat was very tender, which is notable with barbacoa. I had a poke bowl, with fresh fish, mango, pineapple, avocado, and a spicy aioli. Everything was so delicious, and beautifully presented. We finished with a mid-priced tequila shot. Call it dessert! The Longboard is a casual restaurant with up-scale food, outdoor seating, and reasonable (by island standards) prices. Our waitress, Audrey, helped make it a lovely evening--she was fun and attentive. Lots of vegetarian options. Highly recommended!

Blake C.

Yelp
Food - 4/5 Drinks - 4/5 Service - 5/5 Price - 3/5 Parking - N/A Ambiance- 4/5 Fried rice and unique craft cocktails were amazing. The poke bowl was just ok unfortunately. Good apps but not super kid friendly despite our servers best efforts.

Dan S.

Yelp
Ceviche, fish tacos, poke bowl, and fried rice were all awesome. We sat at the bar and Megan and Korean did a great job.
google avatar

Allie K.

Yelp
Loved this spot! The lobster rangoons were one of the best foods we had on our trip to the island.

Kailin J.

Yelp

Yelp
Great island vibe. Nice outdoor seating. Attentive service. Had tacos, chicken tenders and fish and chips - all tasty.

Rachel C.

Yelp
Amazing night! Great food and fabulous drinks!. Bonus - Joe makes the best drinks! Try the special crisp and summer rolls are awesome.

Olivia A.

Yelp
Thank you Monica! Tempura avocado tacos and the frozen painkiller were delicious. World famous cocktail for a reason!

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Great place right in the heart of Cruz Bay. Food was delicious, very fun vibe, and the staff was very friendly. Our server Monica was superb!

Jaime B.

Yelp
Great drinks, great food, and great company. Korean was an amazing bartender. She kept our drinks full and offered some great conversation. The Longboard is a great island stop and will always be one of our favorites on St. John! Thanks, Korena, for making our after beach drink stops so fun!

Cynthia N.

Yelp
Monica was our server tonight and she was fabulous- friendly and attentive in just the way you would hope. The menu has lots of good options. All four of us enjoyed our meal and it's fun to people watch too!

Natalie C.

Yelp
AWESOME SPOT! My husband and I went here spontaneously after spending the day at Trunk Bay. Everything was fantastic! I would go back again and again if I was local. Each dish was 10/10. Service was fantastic! Thank you Noah! They had fresh locally made kombucha which was delicious. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Victoria M.

Yelp
Excellent bar service from Joe P who whipped up a special cocktail that wasn't even on the menu! Delicious tacos and fun atmosphere.

Yelp
8 years ago we loved this place. This time found it to be "fine" but food was notably bland and weak on portion. For example, their "St. Thomas Sushi Wrap" had surely studied up on rice, but must've skipped the "ahi tuna" day, since it was about two cups of rice with about two tablespoons of tuna. "Summer Rolls" were as bland as the plate they were served on. My wife liked her sliders as "fine". Will likely try on another trip, but in six nights here, we found ten places better.
google avatar

Sandra P.

Yelp
Sadly for me this place was a flop. I have to say the atmosphere was trendy and fun and the 3 others with me loved their meals but nothing I got hit the spot. From my drink the Cane Garden (heavy ginger) to the App a smoked mahi 'spring roll' which was cold and spicy (just not communicated by the server) to my fresh catch slider which was mostly bread and a finger size piece of Mahi. I left hungry and dissappointed but will give them the benefit of the doubt that I just ordered the wrong things for my taste. I will maybe try them again another day and give an update. Those I was with had the poke bowls and said they were fantastic.

Scott C.

Yelp
Great food Korean was a great server. Food was good casual atmosphere. Had the sushi wraps very good.
