3 Best Day Trips from Sydney | Condé Nast Traveler

"This three-in-one dining venue above the Blue Mountains is all about options: for breathtaking views, there's the casual Restaurant 1128, where blonde wood and pastel-pretty chairs create a retro Fifties mood (though, we like to sit out on the wraparound terrace when the weather cooperates). For a bit of grab-and-go, there's Milkbar, offering up breakfast, lunch, tea, and treats, as well as the copper- and wood-clad Bar NSW, serving local wine, beer, cider and cocktails. Drop in for a relaxed meal pre- or post-trekking, or after you've fully admired The Three Sisters." - Sophie Davies

Stopping for lunch at Echo Point was a treat in itself. I ordered the beef brisket, which was tender, flavorful, and absolutely satisfying. My friends enjoyed their fish and chips—crispy and not overly moist—while the chicken thigh fillet was also tasty. A nice bonus is the complimentary coffee and tea, perfect for warming up on a chilly day. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on our side; rain and heavy haze completely hid the stunning views, including the iconic Three Sisters, but it still made for a cozy and memorable stop.

$64.95 for this crap, food was extremely overpriced, oily, greasy and chips was cold. Customer service is bad, they just left food on the table, no napkins no appliances. It was not busy for a windy and cold day still took 45 minutes to cook this ? Really ? Stop ripping people.

Service is not happy. Dissatisfied & disappointed. The water glasses were not cleaned properly. Chicken schnitzel & southern fried steak were over cooked & cold. Cheese even didn't melt until finish the meal. Potato chips were cold too. Even cheese is not melting because the food is cold. Christmas day they charged 15% extra for not worth 3 plates. Sliced cucumber were not fresh. And 4-5 slices only. It even took 30 mins. to came the COLD food to the table. The dishes are not worth the price as I know. Chicken schnitzel was $31 Southern Fried Steak $32 'Shroom Ragu $30 Not recommended for anyone for sure.

Pros - Lunch with a view. Not very crowded as it was a weekday. Have a few vegan & veg options. Food ok. Cons - expensive, staff very casual, food took a while to arrive. No ketchup or sauce was served. There was no salt or pepper. The tables were dirty. The person who took our order told us to take the cutlery with us. Next time we go Echo point will look for other options😎

Had the Sunday Roast and Southern Fried Steak. The latter was an abomination of pub cuisine, depressing to say the least, and hopefully not as depressed as the one who made it. Salty to the max with dry meat and even drier and stale chips. Our arvo was saved by the Sunday Roast - which ironically does not get a roast. Gorgeously cooked and nicely seasoned veggies, with a well cooked, crispy pork belly, all brought together with the gravy and perfectly sweetened apple sauce. Great atmosphere as our chews were drowned out by the softly singing guitar playing man in the corner. Not to mention the views! Blue mountains never disappoints.

Food is terrible and overpriced. I order chicken honey burger and came out the chicken doesn’t look appetising and black. Complain to the chef and mentioned it is black and Overcooked, ordered it for my kids and they definitely can’t eat this burger. I requested for a new chicken burger as the burger he sent out was not good to be eat as the chicken was cook to long and burn. he was refused to do it at first, I said to him I am my self is a chef, I know what good chicken burger is. Then he quickly answered he will make another one. For a black chicken burger with chips for $29 was overprice 👎 If you want to selling chicken burger with chips for $29, should you able to provide quality food! Definitely not come back!

Yelp
This is an interesting place to get a drink of any kind, because every single one is produced in NSW. Hubby and I tried several beers and wines, some better than others, but it was fun to give them a go. We also ordered a pumpkin feta pizza, on the recommendation of Joshua, which was very good. Joshua told us stories about local happenings, and gave recommendations of other places to try, and was generally just a very good barkeep. Because of the location so close to the Lookout, I don't know if I'd want to come here during school holidays, but in the off season it's pretty good.

Yelp
No wonder the restaurant was empty on a Friday night. My partner and I thought we were finally going to score a relaxing dinner setting out of all the mediocre restaurant options in Katoomba. But our dinner consisted of overpriced, child-sized proportions with no comfortable seating options. $75 for two is highway robbery. My elbows were sticking to the tables and my shoes were stepping in trash on the floor. It was warmer standing at the rails of the three sisters with wind hitting your face than it was while inside here. Yum, I just love my toes going numb while being forced to listen to someone rap the chorus of Stay With Me while I chew on undercooked chicken whose neck was hacked behind the restaurant 30 mins before. Needless to say, we had to go buy dinner again after this. This place has so much potential being right here at Echo Point but instead it's wasted space.
