The lost unicorn is a place that feels like it's been pulled straight from a romantic novel. Nestled in the heart of the mountains, this charming colonial-style house-turned-hotel is everything you could want in a peaceful escape. The atmosphere is serene, timeless, and filled with old-world charm. The location is absolutely perfect with incredible hiking trails just minutes away. Nature lovers will be in paradise here — you can step out the front door and be on a scenic trail within moments. The breakfast (and weekend dinners!) are freshly prepared with love, using local ingredients, and served in a cozy dining area that feels like you're in someone's beautiful home. From warm breads and jams to hearty stews and perfectly cooked meats, every bite is comforting and delicious. the hotel is pet-friendly, and it is a home for a bunch of furry friends too! The hosts are truly special — warm, helpful, and full of local tips. They go above and beyond to make sure every guest feels at home. There are also several lovely local restaurants nearby, perfect for exploring the local food scene after a long day of hiking or just strolling the quiet village streets. This place is more than just a hotel — it’s an experience and a perfect retreat.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Lost Unicorn Hotel. The dining terrace was lush and green with nice gardens. The breakfasts were delightful with both hot and cold dishes. It was a quiet corner of for a relaxing, and pleasant stay. I look forward to coming back.

This place is pure magic. It's nestled in the heart of lush greenery. You feel like you are in a hidden sanctuary embraced by nature. It's decoration in the corridors, library and hall also transcend you in a era when things were moving a lot slower and everything feels tranquil. Hats off to the owners and staff for the experience offered to guests and for the very reasonable pricing.

So beautiful and charming. Lovely hosts and the ideal place to absorb some peace. Lovely food and comfortable rooms make this a great place from which to base your trips to the local beaches and various village squares.||Agios Paraskevi square with the 1000 year old plane tree is adjacent with quite a few cafes and tavernas within walking distance. Would definitely come again.

What a lovely hotel with a great warm atmosphere and perfect service. If you want a cosy English styled comphy hotel and Mediterranean climate and you are an animal lover this is THE place to be. British Clare and her Greek husband Cristos give you a very warm welcome! Wonderful yummy breakfast! Great great place to be!

We stayed at The Lost Unicorn Hotel during the Christmas holidays in 2024 and had an overall charming experience in Tsagkarada, Pelion. While the hotel has its unique character, there are some details to consider. Here’s what you can expect for €110 per night, including breakfast: - The rooms are quite small, with old furniture and a compact bed. The bathroom facilities, including the shower and toilet, are functional but equipped with older fittings. + However, the room was tidied daily and came with thoughtful amenities like instant coffee and tea bags, a safe, a small fridge, and a hair dryer. + Breakfast was a highlight, with a choice of eggs—omelette, scrambled, boiled, or fried—served with options like ham, cheese, mushrooms, and peppers. They also provided yogurt with muesli, toasted bread with butter, and fresh juice, making for a hearty start to the day. Good to know, The hotel’s dining area is surrounded by several cats and a dog, which might appeal to animal lovers…. Adjacent to the dining room is a cozy space with bookshelves and two comfortable couches, perfect for relaxing with a book. In overall, the hotel has a quaint charm, but its facilities are better suited for those who appreciate a rustic, vintage atmosphere over luxury and higher standards.

The Lost Unicorn truly lives up to its name, thanks to what Clare and Christos have made of it. You can hardly find places like this anymore, nor experiences like the one they offer. Whether it’s from Clare’s warm welcome or Christos’ enthusiasm and cooking (try the steak! Unless you like your meat well-done, in which case… I’m really sorry), it’s the perfect blend of refinement and generosity. I assure you, you will never forget your stay at the Lost Unicorn. They will advise you on the beautiful nearby beaches, the hikes to take, and you’ll think of these few lines as you sip your Campari soda on the terrace at sunset. Oh, and there was even a handsome Frenchman writing a book there every day around that time, which certainly didn’t spoil anything... ;) Thank you so much, Clare and Christos, for such a wonderful stay.
