Not a hotel more a nightclub. Live music playing til all hours. We didn't choose the hotel it was part of a mystery picnic and accommodation stay. Would definitely not recommend this place if u have children or like to sleep before 2 in the morning. The receptionist will say don't worry u can't hear it. But the rooms r right over the beer garden were all the live music is. For the price we paid there r many better places to stay in Newcastle. Plus the parking is 10 mins away and u have to pay $20 a night. And it's not a secured parking lot.

I was a part of a big hens group that attended the Lucky for bottomless brunch. I was the only vegan in the party and was super happy and impressed with the vegan options the Lucky provided for me. Generous servings and thoughtful dishes rather than something that was just slapped together which unfortunately can often be the case for vegan options. Friendly and professional service as well. Also, the courtyard is a lovely space, perfect for a special occasion

We absolutely LOVED staying at The Lucky Hotel. Rooms were beautiful and clean, with a cute little balcony. The comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in, in a motel. The hotel downstairs is unreal! Chill vibes, amazing food, and great service. Could not recommend higher!

The Lucky Hotel is amazing and we just had the most wonderful birthday celebrations. The staff were so wonderful and so helpful and caring to ensure an incredible night for all our family and friends. The food menu was yummy and drink choices from cocktails, beer to wine catered to all :) We would definitely recommend to any Traveller and to our Novocastrians locals for an easy, relaxing night out with good music, food and drinks. Thank you once again for your outstanding service and hospitality. See you again soon!!

I stayed at the Lucky to attend a celebration held at the hotel. Arrived and checked in with no issues, the room was generous in size, clean, comfortable, had a great bathroom, and was quiet even at night when the rest of the hotel was still pumping with music and patrons. We had drinks and dinner at the Lucky and the service was excellent the whole time.

Had an amazing stay at The Lucky Hotel!!this place truly exceeded my expectations! The room and bathroom were spacious, clean, and super comfortable. I really appreciated the thoughtful touches like the quote on the wall, and the fact that they provide premium T2 tea in the room shows they genuinely care about quality and guest experience. What really stood out was the smart door lock system no keys needed! It was super convenient and something you don’t see often in other hotels. Little things like that make The Lucky feel modern and unique! Also had lunch at the bistro~highly recommend the rump steak. Delicious! Big thanks to Brayden and the team for the warm hospitality. This hotel is definitely a hidden gem in Newcastle, and I’ll be back soon!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! My group of 14 did the bottomless brunch and wow! Food so yummy, drinks and atmosphere perfect! To the lady with short brown hair and tattoos, you made the day EVERYTHING! The lucky do hospitality the way it should be done, if you want to go somewhere and just completely switch off and enjoy, go to the lucky!

Yelp
Can't say much about the hotel because I didn't stay here but I love the bar and courtyard area! It is too cute. Great ambiance and great drink selections. Perfect place for small and large groups. The staff were friendly and had great service. Of all beers on tap that had Coors, which is hard to come by in Australia, so of course I went with Coors. My friend got a local beer that was quite tasty. Didn't try any of the food but it looked good, would like to go back on a weekend. Seems like a fun bar. Drinks and Outside area were the highlights for me.

Yelp
Darn tasty. We searched around town for lunch and landed here and were quite happy with our choice. It was a Tuesday afternoon and a bit warm out, and the atrium was too steamy for us so we opted for a table in the bar area. There were a couple of containers with fruit infused self serve water, so we went over to the window to order our food and awaited its arrival. The entrees came out and they were excellent. I got the 'award winning' brisket burger, and it was smoky, tender, and delicious! The branded top was a fun touch too. My wife opted for a mushroom quesadilla with smoked chicken. It overflowed with cheesy deliciousness and flavor and was more than she could handle. Our food came out quickly and staff were available for other needs and questions. It was a very good experience!

Yelp
This pub was pretty cool. Okay, with all of the construction going on, it was a little out of the way, but that is no doubt going to change in about a years time. Sure, it was a little dark inside when I was there, but that does tend to add to the atmosphere at times, as was the case here. In a way it was a nice, and relaxing pub with some good beers on tap, and they also had a nice, covered outdoor area as well, namely as a part of the restaurant. I found this place quite pleasant and charming.

Yelp
Great bar, super staff and good food. I got the ceviche. It was served in a tortilla bowl easy for rolling and dipping. The fish was fresh and the citrus and cilantro mix was awesome. Although this is a starter, it was plenty of food for me. I also got chips with smoke chipotle and siracha pepper dipping sauces. Both were solids and clearly communicated to the staff I was American! . The local beer selection was outstanding and the patio area is one of the most unique I've seen! Check out the pics!

Yelp
Not sure which award they won on this burger, but I found it below average. Dry, chewy, strange flavours with nothing delicious. I was impressed with their beer range, also impressed with their food menu. The Brisket Burger could improve.

Yelp
If I had to rate this place on venue alone it would probably be a five. I love the look. The brick work inside, the mirrors, the wood, the drum kit chandelier. Even the ladies toilet was gorgeous as far as restrooms go. The courtyard is also very inviting. I came for lunch on a Tuesday and had The Lucky Dawg. It looked amazing but the taste didn't fit. The roll tasted a little stale and I wasn't overly impressed by the chilli beef. I don't eat pork sausages very often so that could be why it tasted odd to me.... My partner had the Fat Cat burger and was happy with it. The price of the meals $17/$18 seemed reasonable for the size but $4.50 for a coke was a bit ridiculous. The staff were quite friendly though and I really enjoyed the music and atmosphere. I'd come back again to try their dinner menu, but another taste fail will be it for me, no matter how much I love the design.

Yelp
While I'm sure I'll be back, my first experience at the Lucky was very average. The covered courtyard is beautiful and no expense seems to have been spared in the fit out...but in the lunch time I was there it was full of rude, scummy people. And I'm not being elitist here, I'm talking about business people (mostly men) talking loudly on their phones and pushing to the front of the bar lineup. Today at lunch the Lucky attracted people who think that they are more important and their time is more valuable than yours. I had a $12 Reuben sandwich and it was soggy but flavoursome. It was just a pity I couldn't wait to get out of there.

Yelp
The Lucky is a beautiful new addition or refurbishment I should say to the newcastle scene. With a sleek and contemporary fit out the courtyard eases you into a relaxed and chatty mood. The Lucky offers a variety of areas to relax and enjoy the company of small and larger groups. The food is ok, with a complicated and unique menu. The fish tacos are ill-advised, but other selections give a hearty and decent meal. Good set of cocktail jugs and wide variety of other beverages.

Yelp
If in from out of town, hot spot on a Saturday eve early. I went for the fried chicken. Great beers on tap and packed...good vibe

Yelp
Although there was no schnitty, the fired chicken went alright. Mate and I went over and had some tucker, some bloke was playing guitar, could watch the chefs through a window. All in all a good experience.

Yelp
The fit out here is fantastic. One of the best rebuilds in Newcastle I have ever seen. Staff at the bar were helpful and friendly. Pity the food didn't match this. I realise they are new but the flavour of the food was rather bland and dry. We spoke with the people beside us who were eating the steak special who said it was quite good for the price but they also said they were here the week before and what they had off the regular menu was dry and very average. Will give this place another go but even with all the hype it looks like it is going to be just another pub with cheap steak / schnitzel their forte.

Yelp
No longer take bookings for tables under 10. We waited 45 minutes for a table on a Wednesday night, but you can grab a drink at the bar. Smaller groups were seated faster. The food was worth the wait. We shared a BBQ platter plus tacos, hot dogs and burgers, and all of the meat was prepared perfectly. The ribs are just amazing. It was really well priced for the amount and quality of the food. We washed the food down with a few local beers and the choices on tap are pretty good. The ambience out in the atrium is perfect - lots of activity and energy but the noise level is low enough to have a normal conversation. I would definitely eat here again.
