The Luxe Manor

"How did it strike you on arrival?Located in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, The Luxe Manor delivers on its name. The lobby, moody red and black outfitted with light fixtures that resemble hot air balloons and a mural-like mosaic, evokes a Chinese-European palace. Nice. What’s the crowd like? The over-the-top design might not be for all tastes, but if you’re into bold designs and surreal art, you’ll love it here. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. The manor theme continues into the guest rooms, which look a little bit Alice in Wonderland. In the Deluxe rooms, which start at 330 square feet, you can expect a mix of European furniture, orange drapes, empty pictures frames arranged on the walls in an artistic manner, and faux fireplaces. But to really get a feel for the wild designs, book one of the themed suites, which range from about 500 square feet up to 720 square feet. There are six options, including Mirage (an ode to surreal artwork) and Nordic (a wintery wonderland). We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?Superior rooms include a choice of double-bed or twin setup, while the Premium, Studios and themed suites upgrade to a choice of king. With plush bedding and blankets, they’re perfectly comfortable. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase? The hotel provides the smaller details that make for a great stay, including a Handy phone (free to use the 4G data around Hong Kong, local and international calls to 10 international countries), and flat-screen TVs. The suites take it up a notch with Nespresso machines, butler service, complimentary airport transfers and a personal concierge. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.In the standard rooms, bathrooms include a rain shower, bathtubs (in Deluxe rooms on higher floors) and artsy decor. It's a more subdued design: picture a black vanity with marble countertops, and a gold-and-cream mosaic. The suites, meanwhile, incorporate a large stand-alone marble tub with silver siding, walk-in shower, and ornate art deco mirrors. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word? There’s complimentary Wi-FI in the rooms, but you’ll need a password to hop online in the lobby. Room service: Worth it?The room service menu is pretty comprehensive, covering everything from a la carte breakfast to parma ham salads, cold-smoked salmon, pastas, freshly baked pizzas, cocktails, wines, and more. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.For a boutique hotel, The Luxe Manor offers a decent lineup of services and facilities. There’s no spa or pool, but you can take advantage of the 24-hour gym, laundry services, and room service. We’d also recommend visiting the unconventional restaurants at The Luxe Manor. The Dada Bar + Lounge combines larger-than-life avant-garde artwork with inventive cocktails and live music—a recipe for a memorable night out. Meanwhile, FINDS (which stands for Finland, Iceland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden) is among the best (and only) authentic Nordic restaurants in the city. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? It’s always a little sad when you don’t have a harbor view in Hong Kong, where the skyline is the city’s pièce de résistance. If you’re a light sleeper, we’d be specific when booking the room as some look out onto Knutsford Terrace—a noisy party street. That said, the location is right in the smack of Tsim Sha Tsui so that’s either a boon or a bane, depending on the purpose of your trip. Bottom line: worth it, and why? There’s nothing generic about this boutique hotel. You can expect fanciful interiors, worthwhile restaurants and a convenient location." - Kate Springer

The Luxe Manor (Kowloon, Hong Kong) 8 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Though the name may give pause, rest assured, they know exactly how over-the-top it is, and it’s meant to be delivered with a wink. The Luxe Manor is, on one level at least, a satire on the ever-escalating absurdities of the high-end luxury hotel market, complete with painted-on chandeliers, trompe l’oeil fireplaces, cartoonish mock antiques and a staggering volume of gold paint." - Tablet Hotels

I stayed at Luxe Manor on a short stopover in Hong Kong, wanting to get a feel for the city. The entry-level room I booked was actually quite spacious and comfortable, and the location is convenient — close to Tsim Sha Tsui and within walking distance of the MTR, which makes exploring the city very easy (though I did get a little lost at first, as the streets and buildings all looked so similar!).||Service from the staff was friendly and helpful, but the amenities were underwhelming. For a hotel marketed as 5-star, charging extra for basics like a shaving kit felt out of place. The facilities overall don’t quite live up to the star rating, though the value is there if you just want a solid room in a central spot.||Personally, I’d look at other options in the future, but if you’re fine with 5-star style paired with something closer to 3-star substance, Luxe Manor is still a convenient choice.

I came to Hong Kong for enjoy the G.E.M concert, so many choices of hotel in Hong Kong, view some very good comments of The Luxe Manor in some media websites, the location and price made me choose this hotel.|During my stay it was excellent, no matter the reception staff, cleaning worker on the floor, the service was great and very good! Special thank for the concierge gentleman, I forgot his name, he might be the manager, he’s very politely and knowledgeable, always approached me when I was passing through the hotel lobby to say hello and offer assistant. He recommended many places to go and told me how to went to the concert venue, he also suggested me tried their hotel restaurant and made booking for me, really appreciated his passion of service.

I traveled to Hong Kong alone and chose this hotel — and I must say, it was absolutely the right choice!||From the moment I checked in, the service was exceptional. Chris at the front desk was incredibly warm and welcoming. When she found out I was traveling solo, she went out of her way to help — giving me a map, patiently explaining how to get to the attractions I wanted to visit, and recommending the fastest transportation options. On top of that, she even suggested some lesser-known but truly interesting spots and activities that ended up being highlights of my trip. Thanks to her, I made some unforgettable memories.||The housekeeping staff were also amazing. Every day, they made sure my room was spotless and cozy, so I could come back after a long day of exploring and relax in comfort.||One moment that really stood out to me — as I was heading out one day, I bumped into Patrick in the hallway. He was so kind and thoughtful, reminding me that it was raining outside and suggesting I borrow an umbrella from the concierge, which the hotel provides for free. It was such a small gesture, but it truly warmed my heart.||All in all, the staff here made my solo trip feel special and cared for. I couldn’t be more grateful. Highly recommended!

Google
The location of this hotel is truly 5-star, perfectly positioned and very convenient, especially for easy access to shops. Unfortunately, the room was a major disappointment. The furniture was old and covered with printed adhesive film, the curtains were dirty, and there was a significant amount of mold in the bathroom. Overall, the room felt outdated and in need of renovation.I do want to acknowledge that the housekeeping staff kept the space clean to the best of their ability, and I appreciate their work. However, breakfast was quite limited in variety. This hotel is a good choice for those prioritizing location and access to stores, but not for those expecting modern, well-maintained rooms.

Location was great. It was near malls and restaurants and MTR TST station. If you're taking the A21 bus from the airport, you just need to walk 5 mins to reach the airport. The staff were all helpful and nice. The breakfast spread was also great, its a buffet style spread and there are also other food items that you can order like eggs benedict and omelet. Me and my partner just had an issue with one of the throw pillows, I think it had bed mites because we had insect bites on our legs on our 3rd day. They did apologize and vacuumed our room and changed our sheets and got rid of the throw pillows, they also gave us a bowl of fruits.Overall it's still a decent place to stay in. It's bigger than the other hotels within the area. We needed an extra bed and the space was still big enough to move around in. Maybe just avoid the throw pillows.

Google
The room is larger than expected especially in Hong Kong where most hotel rooms are small and tight. We had a spacious room, it was very clean, service was fantastic, reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is 4 mins walk from the nearest metro; easily accessible and even within walking distance to a lot of interesting places. Lots of restaurants around the Tsim Sha Tsui area. Highly recommended, and we will come back again next time.

Yelp
Pros... extremely courteous and helpful staff. They were always friendly and eager to help..they run to help you with your luggage the nano second they spot you coming out of elevator or approaching the hotel entrance. Location. Now the cons... The hotel is old and rundown. Upon entering there was a stinky odor that was masked by some kinda perfume smell. Rooms look messy and not clean. Bathroom is dusty/dirty. The toilet paper holder is weirdly situated where you must remove it from the holder to actual get toilet paper. After you flush the toilet it takes a very long time to refill the tank and it is super loud. The decor is creepy. Reminds of the hotel in the movie, The Shining. The management needs to dump a load of cash for an overhaul. It is definitely time.

Yelp
The hotel staff is friendly and efficient getting you checked in. The rooms are clean and bigger then expected. I really am not sure how to explain the style. Italian retro????? See the pictures for details. The price is reasonable and the location is good as well. Shopping is just a few steps away,, plenty of restaurants behind the hotel at Knutsford terrace. The breakfast buffet is fair but when I arrived most items were cold. Arrive early. One last note, the air con works well, the beds are firm, and hot water takes some time to get there bit then it is good. I would stay here again.

Yelp
Prior to booking a room here, I poured through dozens and dozens of hotel reviews and listings. In a city like Hong Kong, there just seems to be so many options that all seem impressive. But once I factored in price, location, inclusions and vibe this seemed to be the winner after what probably turned out to be an hour or two of scouring through choices. We opted to stay in Kowloon (Tsim Sha Tsui) because we heard it's great for a first time visitor, with quick access to the skyline and a range of shopping options. (Not just high end stuff.) Although shopping was low on our priority list, we also found Kowloon hotels to be a little friendlier on the budget overall. For just a little under $200, The Luxe Manor provided refuge from the hustle and bustle and lots of perks during our short stay. Included in that price, was access for two to the breakfast buffet each morning, two complimentary cocktails at the bar, a shuttle to the airport, free WiFi, a mobile phone that we took and used all over the city as we explored and perhaps even some other amenities that we didn't have a chance to fully use. All I remember is that they had to print a list of all the add-ons that we could take advantage of, and since our mission was to explore more often than not, we were really only in our room to sleep and shower. The lobby is a bit swanky, but in a way that some folks might feel is a bit over the top. To me, as long as it's clean and inviting I'm happy but I will agree with other reviews that mentioned the strong smell of cleaner in the lobby. The rooms are a fair size - not too big, not too small. They were able to break our King bed into two fulls when they realized it was a sister duo instead of a couple staying. I would have never thought in a million years those beds could have been so easily broken down, but they were quick to offer and assemble for us. We also received some cute little chocolates that were sitting on the desk, just waiting for us to snatch them up. It was only after scarfing them down did we realize there was a note addressed to someone else sitting right next to it. (Oops!) Somehow, more chocolates appeared the next evening as well, so I'm not sure if this is actually something standard, but they were always exciting to receive. (No note the second time.) Overall, our stay was fantastic. We could easily walk to the subway, lots of restaurants, shops etc and the staff was kind, professional and accommodating. Definitely worth the money and probably one of the best overall deals around!

Yelp
Very nice hotel that we stayed one night in at the end of our Asian vacation. The staff was great and helped with the luggage, etc. The room was adorable with a nice silver (fancy too!) tea kettle and assortment of teas and instant coffee. I wasn't in the mood for tea but the set up made me desire a nice break with tea before we left to Macau for the evening. So I made some Earl Grey tea and coffee for my Mister. It was very relaxing in a very relaxing environment. The bed was comfy and we literally slept so late that we missed breakfast! After spending the late morning and part of the afternoon in Kowloon, we went back to the hotel for our luggage and the staff was great yet again with loading our luggage into the taxi. I recommend this nice hotel. Just wish we could have stayed more than one night.

Yelp
I'd give it 3.5 stars. Clean, safe, great location. The bar upstairs has live music (and very good one at that) and friendly staff. Rooms are good sized for Hong Kong. It is missing a nice lobby and a place where you can hang out if you don't want to go sit in the bar. In sum, good stay for a very good price.

Yelp
I have stayed here probably 10 times over the years. The staff is wonderful! They always recognize that I have stayed here before and welcome me back with a room upgrade. The rooms are very clean and whimsical- a nice change from sterile chain hotels. I love the location and their great breakfast buffet. Wi-fi is fast and easy to use. Basically, it's hard to find anything better in HK for the price. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I had requested for non-smoking room months in advance as it is very important to us. When we checked into our room we smelled cigarette smoke even though our room was on a non smoking level. We complained to management but they didn't do much to resolve the issue. The next day we smelled the smoke coming from the room next to us as we were walking by and they happened to open their door. Again, we went down to complain but management said they cannot move the smoker to a smoking room because he did not want to be moved. They did offer to move us but why should we have to move when the person next to us is smoking on a non-smoking room. So we wasted too much of our short time in Hong Kong complaining about the smoking issue with no resolution to the problem. I really wish I had chosen a different hotel to stay.

Yelp
This trendy hotel is where elegance meets rock and roll in a Falco (of Rock Me Amadeus fame) sort of way and in a central Kowloon location (near the Jordan MTR location). The rooms were sizable, a great value, and had a nice cool factor. There is a large, classical style bar that serves a nice wine list, cocktails, and has a pre-dinner hors d'ouevre selection alongisde professional service (and a live band Friday and Saturday nights). The restaurant, which serves an included breakfast, is also quite nice. They do provide a smart-phone in every room for your use, but of course like most I already have one and did not need it. They even provided some printing and scanning services I needed (for a fee) - everyone in the staff was courteous and friendly.
